You need to link your iPhone number to Messages - and Facetime if you use it. For Messages go to Settings>Messages>Send and Receive at>You can be reached by iMessage at. If your phone number is showing there, select it as your Contact address. If it doesn't appear in there, take a look at the end of this article for help.

My text messages are being sent and received with my email address instead of my phone number. How do I fix this?
This is with iMessages only.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and below the Start New Conversations From, select your cell phone number instead of your Apple ID email address. -

How do I get Messages to stop sending from my email address instead of my phone number?
I've had several people tell me that texts I've sent from my iPhone have been showing up as <myemailadd>@mac.com instead of my phone number. It started doing that under iOS7. I don't want my email address sent with my phone-originated texts. I don't want my email address broadcast to people that shouldn't have it.
So what do I need to change to make sure that phone texts originate from my phone number, home texts show my email address, and both are viewable on both my iPhone and iMac?I think its fixed. I had to sign iMessages in on my Apple ID, but then deselect my email addresses to make it behave the way it should. Now if I could get iMessage to only send response alerts to the last device I used, instead of late night texts going to every device I own in the house and waking everyone up.
For some reason, the free iCloud address I automatically received (when Apple was trying to force people to leave Mac.com) is "hardwired" into iMessage. People were also getting texts from that address even though I was on my phone. I tried to delete it but iOS tells me I can't. I don't use that address, I won't ever use it, too bad I can't make it go away. -
This may have happened when Firefox was updating to version 4 it was trying to connect forever and I x'ed out of the update screen. But I am not sure that this caused the problem. I have reinstalled Java, but this did not help. I tried to reset the computer do an older date, and the system will not let me reset.
This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
* https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode
* [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
* Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in <u>[[Safe mode]]</u>:
* Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows) -
My phone is sending my text messages from my email address, not from my phone number. How do I fix this?
what if I only can choose the email address which I can delete and I also have an out of states number because I used my phone back home and now Im back in the states and I cannot get it back to my US cell number its just set at my email and I want to change it...HELP!

My phone will select an email (not an iMessage account) to send a text to instead of sending it to the phone number. At times it lets me select one of the two but often does not. Especially in group messages. Any suggestions? It is getting really annoying.
I agree that it is a hardware issue and I would have replaced, but losing service was something I just delt with over the years, but now with iOS 8, its becoming a problem. Plus with the release of the iPhone 6...
I just thought I missed a software setting that would block activating on Cellular Data or something similar to that. -
I have noticed that sometimes (particularly when sending an sms to multiple people) my iphone 4s will send the message to peoples email addresses. This happens despite there being a phone number listed on the contact. You would have thought that an sms would automatically send to a phone number if there is one available for the contact, but instead it is sending the sms to an email address without warning. This results in me being charged for an mms and the recipient not recieving the text at their phone number. It happens when sending messages to both iphone users and non iphone users.
Does anyone know a way of fixing this?I think its fixed. I had to sign iMessages in on my Apple ID, but then deselect my email addresses to make it behave the way it should. Now if I could get iMessage to only send response alerts to the last device I used, instead of late night texts going to every device I own in the house and waking everyone up.

I notice that almost all text is now "bold", including the text when I write emails.
Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.
Missing icons can be supplied by a font that is downloaded from the server (@font-face) in case you see little boxes that show the hex code of the characters.
You can check the <b>gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled</b> pref on the <b>about:config</b> page and make sure that it is set to true (if necessary double-click the line to toggle its value).

I can send you a screen shot if that would be helpful.
I have noticed that the emails sent out of S1 always default to the end
of the message so we need to scroll up to edit what we've written. Most
of the time I need to edit the text near the top of an email so although
it is a very minor thing, it is a bit irritating.In Firefox 4 the cursor is placed automatically at the end of a text area.<br />
Easiest to go to the top is by using Ctrl+Home -
When using the browser, when I go to aolmail and open my email account and click on my mail to open a message to read. The mail opens and content shows for a quick second and then goes blank. The Bing search box appears in the email content section. If I use internet explorer there is no problem. The email can be read. I am using firefox 3.6.15, home vista.
That problem can be caused by the Yahoo! Toolbar that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links in that part of the screen not clickable.

I was using hotmail yesterday using Firefox as my browser. As I was typing an email the print kept getting smaller and smaller. All folders and text in the inboxes is now so small I cannot read it. My only alternative is to use Internet Explorer as my browser which is still working fine
