Why Do The Latest Versions Of Soundtrack and Soundtrack Pro Use .caf Files?
About 3 years ago Soundtrack and Soundtrack Pro started using .caf files instead of .aif ones.
The .caf files appear to take up more space than .aif and of course need rendering before they can be used in FCE/FCP.
So what is the logic behind their use?
I would add that I have skimmed through several articles which claim they have advantages ..... which I can't understand.
I only know that when used normally in FCE/FCP they seem to me a backward step, requiring rendering - almost like using .mp3 but without the space-saving features.

It touts "unrestricted file size" as one advantage of CAFs. Has any of us ever exceeded the supposed 4GB limit of AIF files?? This is from the page linked above:
"Whereas AIFF, AIFF-C, and WAV files are limited in size to 4 gigabytes, which might represent as little as 15 minutes of audio, CAF files use 64-bit file offsets, eliminating practical limits. A standard CAF file can hold audio data with a playback duration of hundreds of years."

Why is the latest version of Firefox 33.0.2 using 100% of my CPU?
Just like the last update to Thunderbird, with no changes on my system, the latest version of Firefox uses 100% of my CPU where it didn't before. I've run every test, disabled my anti-virus, run in safe mode and it makes no difference.
Since there was no useful answers when I posted about the TB problem, I doubt there will be any here.
Sorry Mozilla, but you're about to lose my support. I already moved away from Thunderbird. Now that FF has the same problem, I'm about to switch my browser to Chrome, even though it is not as good.Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

Why are the latest updates of AME and Premiere Pro CC 2014 only reading 4gb of ram?
I am running Windows 7 64 bit ultimate with 8gb of ram. The previous versions ripped through rendering, but I don't want to go back to revert back as i have been working with the new version now and the old one won't open the projects made by the new one. I also really like the new interface.
In task manager all adobe processes come up with *32.
How do I install the new versions as 64 bit?Take a look at your GPU usage with something like GPU-Z to see if both Premiere versions are using the same amount of MPE GPU hardware acceleration. Actually with CC 2014 it might work faster because Adobe added in more 4k effects/features for GPU acceleration.
You might want to download our Premiere Pro BenchMark (PPBM) and run it on both versions. The H.264 very complex timeline has 4K material in it and usually shows Premiere Pro 8.xxx take about only half the time that Premiere Pro CS6 take to export that same timeline. -
Why do the latest versions of Indesign and Photoshop not work on my computer?
I own a Toshiba Satellite L675 and when I was using photoshop cs5 extended it worked fine. However I recently purchased Photoshop cs6 extended and after trying to install it i recieved an error:213:10. After that i tried downloading Indesign CS6 to see if anymore Adobe Products wouldnt work on my laptop either. It doesnt, so does anyone know why its not working?

Maybe because it's necessary to build on a version that's been out long enough to be stable before releasing? Who knows?

I keep getting the message when I open Muse CC, that the latest version is here and that i need to download it... But when i click "Download Latest Version" and it takes me to the applications manager it tell me that Muse is "Up to date"..... I also downloaded a template from Muse and it tells me when I open it that i also need the latest version... Can anyone explain why Iam getting this message and Why I can not up date?... As I said, the other day I had downloaded the latest version of Firefox and after doing so none of the icons for the different websites that normally go to are no longer there. Websites such as MSNBC, MSN, Most visited, that entire strip is no longer visible. I tired resetting Firefox and still nothing. Can anyone tell me how to get them to appear again? It's a hassle every time that I want to go to one of those sites I have to type it in the search bar, instead of just clicking on it as I did before. Please keep in mind if you answer, that I'm still learning about these things called computers and not very well versed in some of the things that you experts know:) Thanks
On Windows XP Firefox shows the menu bar by default and not the orange Firefox menu button that is shown when the menu bar is hidden.<br />
The menu bar is the toolbar at the top that shows menu items like File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help.<br />
You can press the F10 key or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily in case this bar is hidden (View > Toolbars or Firefox > Options).
The Navigation Toolbar shows the Back and forward button and the input field where you type the address of a site that you want to visit (aka location bar) and also has a search bar where you can type items that you want to look up with a search engine (Google).

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot. -
I can not dowload the new updated software for my Ipod touch 4G. When i do I get an error message that says Network connection has timed out. I have done the trouble shooting steps. Downloaded the latest version of Itunes, and checked network connection
Disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download and update usually resolves the timeout error.

Library Duplicated
I just updated to the latest version of iTunes and it duplicated virtually every track in my library. I need a quick way to delete the duplicates. Sorting by "Date Added" will not work, because every track is listed as added on 12/12/2011 even though this happened today 12/19/2011.I've written a script called DeDuper which can help remove unwanted duplicates. I downloaded the latest version of itunes and now my ipod nano won't sync. The sync process appears to lock up on the 2nd song and will not continue to sync. I let it run all night the first time and it never went past the 2nd song. I unchecked the 2nd song so a different song would be 2nd, no benefit; reset my ipod nano; shut down laptop and restarted a different time; shorted the number of songs to sync; all without benefit.
When you connect your ipod up to the computer. It should show the device, usually with the name of the device, in my case 'jordan's ipod'. This should be on the row which shows 'songs', 'albums' e.t.c on the far right. There when you click on it it should go to a different screen showing a picture of your ipod along with two buttons - Update and Restore. Click update and it should take a 2 mins while your ipod is updated to the latest version of Ios.
After updating te ipod see if there is a change in results.
PS: make sure the device is active while syncing so keep tapping the screen.

After downloading the latest version of iTunes and updating my iPhone, everytime I turn on my computer I receive a message that reads: "AppleSyncNotifier.exe - Entry Point Not Found. Yes. I just solved the problem on my PC. Here goes...
Issue: My Windows7 computer was producing the pop up box with the error text as you described.
The Problem: You have another application on your computer that uses the like named .DLL file... in this case a DLL supporting SQLite on your local PC.
Solution:
1. You need to use the Windows File search feature to look for the name "SQLite". This will quickly locate the offending DLL in the other application.
2. Decide which program you like the most, in my case "Mobile Me", and uninstall the offending application.
3. Uninstall Mobile Me.
4. Restart your PC.
5. Reinstall Mobile Me.
6. Mobile Me should sync at this point, but if not, restart the PC once again.
In my case, the offending program was my Aptana Studio development application. I had recently the SQLite3 database to my Ruby On Rails configuration...
This is where the file was located:
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Aptana Studio 2.0\plugins\com.aptana.radrails.sqlite3.win32_3.5.7.1278709071\vendor\SQLite3.d ll
