Yes, you can also, e.g. include a help file or manual as html and open that in the browser.

Dear colleagues,
Here is a bug report.
Culprit: 'Open URL in default browser.vi'.
System: Windows 8, Professional. LabVIEW 2011 SP1.
Abnormal behaviour and steps to reproduce:
Above mentioned VI doesn't work when LabVIEW was started with administrator privilegies. And it works as expected when LabVIEW running in normal (non-administrator) mode.
Looking forward to see this fixed.

Unfortunately LabVIEW 2011 SP1 does not support Windows 8. I tested this behavior with LabVIEW 2012 SP1 on Windows 8 and everything worked correctly.

Similar to other Wrappers, Void is a wrapper class for the primitive ' void ' . We all know that Void is a final class , we can't instantiate it.

Hi FI Experts,
Why do we need more than one retained earnings accounts, what is the precise use of two?
I know the retained earnings account is used to carry forward the balances during the year end to the balance sheet and there by making the p&L A/cs balances as zero.
I guess the second one is used for different valueations for example as depreciation accounts for different valuations will have different retained earnings accounts.
Kindly correct me if I am wrong and eloborate on the use having more than one retained earnings accounts.

Hi,
Well, separate retained earnings accounts are used for parallel financial reporting, it means when you need to report in accordance with, for example, local GAAP and IFRS or US GAAP at the same time. Several retained earnings accounts are necessary when the company chooses account based approach for parallel reporting. (GL accounts are broken down into several groups, for example you use different accounts for IFRS valuation, for local GAAP and they are also shared accounts common for both principles.)

What are the uses for Macbook pro and Macbook air?

Hi! I am deciding between MBA and MBP and need to know what the different uses for each one was. Like what would you use the MBA for and what would you use the MBP for?? All opinions welcome!!

They're actually pretty comparible in what they can do if you're talking about the base model of both (say 13") with 4GB RAM. At that level, the Pro has the advantage if you're going to watch or burn DVD's or CD's, as the Air has no optical drive. But otherwise, they're pretty much the same--full-sized, backlit keyboard, camera, beautiful screen, etc. If you're going for more than a basic 13" Pro, then things start to change. For example, you can get up to 8GB RAM on the Pro, and a huge hard drive, you can also get a 15" or 17" size. You will be paying a lot for these, but, obviously, if you're going to be working on, say, making videos (which you may then want burn onto disk) the Pro is very much what you'll want.
However, if you don't need or want any of that--if, for example, you plan to do the usual programs (word processing, games, web surfing, music, etc.), then you really won't see much difference between the two. At 4GB RAM and a 13" screen, the big difference is going to be thickness and weight, not power. And in this the Air will have the advantage--it's really amazingly slim, light and with a SSD, faster (you pay extra--a lot extra--to get SSD on the Pro).
Just to make the point, I switched from a 13" Pro to an 11" Air. My hard drive size is half what it was with a Pro, but I was barely taking up half of that amount on the Pro, and so have plenty of room on my 128GB Air (you can get 256GB for the 11" if you order it online). Absolutely everything my Pro did, my Air does (sans optical drive), only faster and lighter and more compact--meaning it takes up less table space, slips in and out of my bag faster, balances on my lap easier, etc. But there was no interruption of service--I switched pretyt seamlessly from 13" Pro to 11" Air.
The Pro offers you more options for power, screen size, HD size and optical drive. But it's really pretty surprising how few of us need that much power, that much room, or the optical drive. It's very freeing to realize that less can be more than enough.

Open URL in Default Browser help

I use the Open URL vi to send a command to another computer. e.g. http://xxx.xx.xx.xxx:xxxx/exec?RCO.
The vi also opens a web page with some return information from the other computer. Can I suppress the openning of that web page?

I'm not sure why you are using this vi anyway but there is not a way to suppress the opening since the VI is password protected. Why not use TCP or ActiveX with internet explorer.

I downloaded Net Beans 6.5 with JavaFX 1 and now java.awt.Desktop isn't even an option for the imports, is there an alternative method to open URLs from my application?

It's, and I mean this with all due respect, idiotic.
I found some code on the net that does the same thing:

But I really would like java.awt.Desktop to work, I want the system tray integration stuff.
Questions about getting Java 1.6 compatibility (the reason why the import doesn't work) go unanswered. It seems there is some hard coded -target 1.5 in some part of the javafx compiler. I can't figure out how to change it.

Hi All,
I'm very new to this (java(fx) programming) and the last days I'm trying to figure out how I can open the default browser when the user clicks the image (loaded from webpage) in the JFXPanel. This image comes from an openx (ads) server and holds a URL as destination link.
So far all my attempts to accomplish this have failed and I'm lost in this.
Currently when clicking the image, the destination webpage opens in in the same JFXpanel (ofcourse), but I would like to open this in the default browser.
this is what I currently have for initiating the scene from swing
