Been having the same problems all week. And am got a generic, not-at-all-helpful response from my initial inquiry with support, then absolutely no response to my follow-up requests. There seem to be a fair number of people posting this problem, so not sure why we're being ignored.
Was able to eventually download the episodes manually via the 'purchased' link, but it's about 10 more steps than normal.
Also noticed that itunes isn't recognizing my purchases at all, not just season passes. If I go to a page of a show where I buy episodes individually, it doesn't show which episodes I have previously bought like it used to.

Did you verify the hard drive before installing the update? You could have had hard drive corruption where the computer did not know where all the files are and something didn't get installed correctly.
Did you repair permissions? The installer may not have been able to overwrite a file if the permissions on files were not set correctly.
Frankly, the easiest thing will be to re-install the operating system from the installer disc. While booted to the disc make sure you run Disk Utility First Aid to repair the drive and permissions, then install. Many of us prefer to download updates from Apple rather than rely upon Software update. we use SU to tell us what we need but we download them separately.
For which operating system was this update? Apple hasn't brought out a new system update for G4s in quite a while.

Back up all data. Quit Preview if it's running.
Hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Library from the Finder menu bar. From the Library folder, delete the following items, if they exist:
Caches/com.apple.Preview
Containers/com.apple.Preview
Preferences/com.apple.Preview.LSSharedFileList.plist
Preferences/com.apple.Preview.SandboxedPersistentURLs.LSSharedFileList.plist
Saved Application State/com.apple.Preview.savedState
Launch the application and test.

Why can I not always pull up my network?

Hello! I have found that when I want to connect with my laptop via my wireless network that it is not always there on the iMac. Everything is connected to the network, it simply does not always show up as accessible on my iMac. I have tried going into my Finder, selecting Go > Network and I see it searching, but alas, no laptop appears. This is very irritating that I cannot have access to my laptop as soon as I need it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Which wireless network do you have? If a 3rd party one, have you checked the manual and/or the manufacture's website for instructions?

Why is iMessage not always available

My other half sent me a txt today, his phone say,s delivered, I never got it. I a guessing it was via iMessage. Why is it that iMessage is not always available?

It sounds as though your phone message may not be properly registered with iMessage.
Go to Settings > Messages and turn iMessage OFF, then turn it back on again.
Make sure the message "iMessages can be sent between iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch" appears.

Why Apple do not let download Safari?

I am just wondering why Apple do not let people download Safari for Mac using a windows machine? The only available options are windows XP and windows XP + quicktime.
Do they think that users are so stupid that don't know what system they have?

Why does iphone not always pick up signal in new city?

I just flew to Vegas, Phoenix and Atlanta. Each time, iphone did not acquire signal on landing for minutes (at least), but immediately picked it up when I powered down and powered back on. What is the technical reason for this, and why does turning the phone off and on help to re-establish connection? I realize this issue is not unique to iphones, but I've never understood why it happens.

Whether or not GSM signals from any cellular phone will cause a plan to crash is not the point. The point is the FAA requires devices that have not been certified by the FAA not radiate in any radio frequency. Airplane mode was designed to comply with those rules and regulations. I don't have confirmation, but comparing my battery life on a trip this last week to my mothers to back in late July the iPhone seemed to have better battery life in a No Service area. I personally suspect that after being in a No Service area for a while the iPhone will stop searching as frequently. When you power off the iPhone or put it in Airplane mode for a few minutes and then come out of Airplane mode the iPhone will search for signal.
There is a limited waiver in place for WiFi for some airlines that are experimenting with offering WiFi, but that does not extend to the GSM frequencies.

Why does Spaces not always show apps in the designated space?

I have 2 spaces defined. Space 1 is for xcode. Space 2 is for Interface Builder. When in space 1 and using xcode I open a xib file. It opens in space 2 with Interface Builder, just like it should. However when I open another xib file from space 1 it displays in space 1 and not in space 2.
Before a clean instal of SL it always opened in the correct space.
Is this a bug or is there a magic setting somewhere?
Also how do you manually move views to other spaces?

What happens if you open the xib from IB via space 2 thereafter? Does that xib behave the same each time it is re-opened?
Have you emptied Xcode's caches specifically during your tests?

Why does Sync not always load, or for that matter, the personal addons page?

For all of the betas, including Minefield, every so often Firefox features do not seem to load. The Add-ons Manager will stay "blank", despite the columns loading, just nothing inside. And thus I am said when this happens. Any ideas?

I have purchased a bunch of music, and i cannot re-download them to my computer or my I-phone 5 (with latest IOS update). the songs are not in my purchased section of itunes, but when i seach them by name they say they are purchased but they dont have an option to re download them. why is that? and how do i re- download them?

Ah, this just happened to me when I moved some files around. What you have to do is delete the songs from your iTunes, then go into Store and click on "Purchased" in the home page (near links for Account and Support) and select "Not on this computer". Then it should give you a link to download them again.
When you delete the song from iTunes it will say that you can only play it from the cloud. That's fine.
Sometimes it takes a few minutes, or you have to go back to the store home page and follow the Purchased link before it recognizes that the files are not on your computer.

Why does Apple not want me to know where my files are?

There is one aspect that I find absolutely ridiculous and frustrating on Mac-OS. When I'm in Apple applications, it is impossible to find out where the file I'm working on is. For example, I have multiple files in my system, in different directories, lets say direcotories AA and BB and the file is called FooBar.txt. I open one of them in TextEdit. Great. Now I want to know which file I'm editing, AA/FooBar.txt or BB/FooBar.txt.
Traditionally, I would go to File and do a "Save As" and devine where the file is by where TextEdit thinks I need to save a new version of the file. Unfortunately, this is no longer available in Lion.
Okay, I understand that Mac is now doing verisions and the "Save As" was a user hack ... but it worked. I have tried to go to the Files->Properties, no luck this is just metadata about the contents of the file entered by the user, not system metadata about where the file is located, its size, owner, etc. I do not want to have to make a Dupicate of the file just to find out where when I do the save its going to put the file. I don't want a duplicate, all I want to know is where is the file I'm currently looking at.
I know this is all part of the mis-guided Apple idea that I shouldn't care about where my files are stored ala iPad and Apple iCloud and that I can find my files using Finder, but the reality of the situation is ... I do care where my files are stored. The files afterall belong to me not to Apple and Apple does allow me to have a directory tree structure which I choose to use to organize myself.
Yes, I know that Finder is wonderful and to unsophisticated users, this is all they need. But for those of us who are more sophisticated, we want-to and need-to know where our files are. And, yes, we will have many files with duplicate names.
As for Finder, I would like to be able to have a column dispolayed that lets me see where the files it found actual are. Then I want to sort on this. As far as I know, the only way to do this is to go to finder, type in the name of the file, then choose the Show all in Finder and then click on each file which then shows me a directory breadcrumbs on the botom of the screen. Again, this might be acceptable to the unsophisticated user, this is very awkward to the sophisticated user. Example, I find a file called xml.config. Great. I now want to not only edit the file but to open up a Terminal in the directoy where I found the file xml.config. Again, I know that a Terminal is not a thing an unsophisticated user wants-to or needs-to do. However, this is a feater of Mac-OS and I want to use it. yes, I can co through the Unix CD command and ultimately get there, but what a pain!!
So, hopefully, all you very sophisticated users will just point me to the right settings, swtiches and commands to make my life easier or that your designers will try to look at the sophisticated use cases and provide us with new tools, commands and options to make our lives easier. At the present, these frustrations remind me of the Microsoft ... we know beter .. attitude. So please, proove me wrong ;-)

While most likely not of interest to you, Spotlight can also tell you where the files it finds are located
Hover the mouse pointer over the name, and press Command-Option and the path to the file will be displayed.
As for opening a terminal session in the directory where a file is located, there is Applescripts that do just that as well as specific features in Lion/Mountain Lion terminal:

Why Do Styles Not Always Render In Design View

Hey guys,
I have a template that has a Spry horizontal menu bar.
Sometimes when I open some of the pages that are built from the
template or even the template itself, the menu bar does not show.
Only the unordered list shows.
How can I make the bar show everytime?

Why is messaging not always notifying me I received a new message?

For some reason when I receive a message it does not play the sound to notify me I received a new message so I am having to look at my phone constantly so I don't miss messages.
Worked fine until iOS 6 upgrade yesterday.

Try doing a hard reset: Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't solve the issue, you could also try backing up the device and restoring the device as new.
In that case, follow the steps in: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.
If you get specific error messages/codes in iTunes when updating/restoring, check this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694

Using that last article will erase everything on the device, so make sure you have a backup!
