Could be systems logs or some other system file growing.
Use OmniDiskSweeper or DaisyDisk to map what's being used.

why does adobe premier elements render my video everytime i change something in it even when i have lots more of the video to edit? other editing software only seems to render at the start then lets you edit until your ready to save at the end. What version of Premiere Elements and on what computer operating system is it running? It will not influence my answer but will give me information in case I need to get into version specifics to detail my answer further.
Timeline rendering is a preview matter. It does not fix anything, but it is your window of opportunity to catch of problem sooner than latter. If the Timeline rendering indicator displays orange (11 or higher) for the line above the Timeline content, that is the project telling you that you are not getting the best possible preview of the playback of that content in the Edit area monitor. And, every time you edit a file, you have altered the file from the time before. So, if you want to see the best possible for what you now have, you Timeline render. This is particularly helpful when you are dealing with titles, effects, transitions, and non native formats. You cannot turn off the Timeline render indicator system, at least none that I have ever found nor seen reported. You can do selective Timeline rendering by having the gray tabs of the Work Area Bar span only the Timeline segment that you want Timeline rendered.
Consequently, you either ignore the Timeline render indicator system, move on in the project, and take your chances in the outcome or you Timeline render to get your best possible preview if the Timeline render indicator is suggesting that you do so.
I am not approving or disapproving of this project feature, just commenting on the what is.

Add On...it is also possible to do Timeline rendering in a project, save close the project, and reopen it to find your previously "green" lined content now "orange", indicating unrendered. Yet the preview files generated originally by Timeline rendering are still existing in their hard drive save location. That is another story for other time. -

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

I updated my computer from Snow Leopard to Lion. The problem is none of my pictures go to my IPad or iPhone. When I checked my settings, I go into ICloud and photo Stream, and it tells me that I need to buy a update. Any help would be appreciated.

so everytime i try and link my apple id to my macbook (mid 07) it doesnt work and i get the yellow triangle. i recently reset my mac as i forgot my password. in the process i made another user to reset my password. doing this i went through the complete start up of a macbook (from when you buy from new). i dont know if this has anything to do with this problem. but i have now deleted that user.
any help is much appriciated.For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

You can't update FaceTime separately from the rest of iOS, so are you referring to updating iOS? And if so, to which version?

If I go to a secure site and click on a link, it take me to "Oops Page cannot be found". I have reset Firefox, uninstalled it and re installed it, disabled my Add Ons, and every other suggestion from the forum. Nothing works and this does not happen with IE. Is the bottom line that I must use IE for these sites? I would prefer Firefox but cannot solve this problem.
Did you disable all the extensions before restarting?
If it works in Firefox Safe-mode then disable all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

I have just purchased WD Studio Thunderbolt and installed it on my Mac. The WD DRive Utility software worked fine until I have updated MAC OSX system (consolidated updates of 10.8.5, iTunes 11,1,0 and RAW didigtal cameras 4,09). After this Mac still can see the drive but the WD software cannot. Do you have any idea how to: 1) remove that update OR 2) install RAID using Disk Utility (wil this still work when WD launch update to WD Drive Utility?).

Why does my MacBook stop working when I try to plug in my iPad to do some file syncing? This is the second time I have had it happen to my MacBook. The computer just shuts down and cannot be restarted. When I plug it into the charger I get a faint Green light where it plugs into the MacBook. When I took the computer into my local Mac store last time this happened (Nov 2012) they reckoned they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Has any body else encountered a similar issue?
That would be a filter, yes. Didn't know Verizon handed out phone/DSL wall split filters. I would honestly take a look at the physical jack it is connected to for corrosion or lose connections as I doubt the filter is bad out of the box. Anyways, what was the original problem you had with the Phone and DSL that prompted Verizon to send out a filter?

why does fcpx crash every time i try to edit titles/text?? I'm trying to wrap up a project for work and now fcpx thinks it needs to crash every time i click on a "title" to edit it. It's making the completion of this project nearly impossible.
nope, i'm just using the select tool "a" to move my titles .. if the inspector is open, the second i click on any title in any project the whole program crashes. but with the inspector closed i can move my titles at will without a crash. i'm not sure what's allowing me to manipulate titles since you've said Lion updates haven't fixed this function. and i'm not sure what's making fcpx crash to the ground every time i click a title with the inpector open. all i know is that this little loophole i've found is working for me and has allowed me to complete my project this morning which is awesome.

While watching an iTunes movie from my Apple TV, why does my movie stop playing at the 1 hour mark? I'm assuming I have a setting causing this to happen, but I have no idea what setting needs to be changed. Can someone help me?
It's right at an hour (consistently), but the computer goes to sleep prior to that. It's as if iTunes goes to sleep. Also, it wasn't always this way. Originally, the movies played through without interruption. At some point, I guess a setting was changed, and now I only get an hour. Also. My energy settings are set to go to sleep at 10 minutes.
