Why does iOS repeatedly ask for my password when submitting an App Store review?

I tap Write a Review, it asks for my password.
I write my review and submit, it asks for my password. And again. And again. And again.
Once before, and four times in a row to submit it. Why?
My passwords are generated for me, and I change them regularly, so sometimes I get them wrong while typing them in. If I've taken the time to go write a review and then I get my password wrong one of the four times I'm asked for it, I just get an error saying my password was incorrect and the whole review I've written ust disappears and I'm back on the app overview; I have to go write it all over again and then go through the gauntlet of repeated password entry once again...
This has been happening on iOS 6, and still on iOS 7. (This is the App Store app in iOS on an iPhone, just to be clear; not the Mac App Store or the iTunes Store on OS X. I haven't tried either of those, so I may or may not have the same problem there.)

Entered incorrectly?
Can go to Appleid.Apple.com and select Manage Apple ID - try to sign in, if you are unable to then what is being entered is incorrect.
Reset Password is the next option.
If you are able to sign in then first on your Computer in iTunes go to Store and Select Sign Out - Then Sign back in.
iOS device - Settings - iTunes & App Store - View Apple ID - Sign out / Sign in
That should work for you - however when downloading/purchasing Apps you will most always be prompted to sign in.
And to the comment
[Yesterday I had problems on my desktop but the laptop worked fine.]
Something was being entered incorrectly, passwords do not effect OS's.
Hope the information with Appleid.apple.com helps you out.

  • Why does iTunes keep asking for my password when I want to listen to my music on my iPhone?

When I want to listen to music on my iPhone, iTunes keeps asking for my password.  I am not purchasing anything.  It started today.  Why is that?

I've been having the same problem on my iPad and iPhone. I talked to Apple customer service this morning. They had me do the following on both devices in the Settings:
    * Sign out of iTunes & App Store
    * Sign out of FaceTime
    * Sign out of Game Center
    * Delete iCloud account
They also had me restore my iPad due to some glitchy behavior in the Music app.
Things seemed to me fixed for a few hours until I went into the iTunes Store app on my iPad and added a movie to my Wish List. When I went back to the Music app, the dreaded "Sign In to iTunes Store" popup started showing up again on both devices. Suspicious!
So, I cleared out my Wish List in both the iTunes Store and App Store. I've been poking at the Music app on both my iPhone and iPad since then I haven't seen that popup once since then. I'm not going to declare victory yet since it's only been an hour or two, but I thought that this was worth mentioning.

  • Why does my Mac ask for my password when I try to make a change on my external hard drive with Time Machine?

I recently formatted the hard drive to do a fresh install of Mavericks on my Macbook Pro Retina. I then formatted my Western Digital 2 TB External Hard Drive for Time Machine. I then began storing others files and folders on the external hard drive along side the TIme Machine Backup folder. Everytime I added a folder or changed a foler name it asked for my password.
This has never happened to me before using any other OSX.
I apologize if this has been resolved before, I'm new to the communities and have yet to find a solution.

It is not a good idea to be storing other Stuff on your Time Machine drive. You may need an additional separate hard drive for those things.
Once you tell Time Machine to use a Drive, Time Machine owns the Drive. You (as a User) do not have permission to put things there. If you insist, it will do it, but wants your Admin password to do it.

  • Can i stopping it asking for my password when downloading from app store?

    Hi all
wondering if anybody could help me please
i brought a iphone 4s at the weekend and every time i download a app from the app store i have to put my password in, if i download an app then click on another to download i have to put it in again, as my password has to be more than 8 letters long its getting a bit annoying having to keep putting it in every app i download and was wondering if there is a way to set it up so that i dont have to put the password in for every download i make please ?
    thanks in advance

Unless you changed it in Settings>General>Restrictions, you have 15 minutes after entering your password during which, if you buy other things, you will not be required to enter it again. Outside of 15 minutes, you will always be required to enter it. That is a security feature that is not user changeable.

  • Why does it keep asking for my password ?

Why does it keep asking for my password when i open the APP STORE ? Theres no updates and i aint downloading anything. Any help ? Thanks.

It shouldn't really ask you anything. One way to possibly forestall this from happening again would be to register and enter your own ID and password. The system won't ask you for anything else, since it has all the user info it needs.
When is it asking you questions? When the App Store opens? When you click on hyperlinks to documents?

  • Why does iClod keep asking for my password?

Why does iCloud keep asking for a password? I don't remember asking for this and if I try to turn it off it threatens to delete my calendars off my mac but keep them on some else's server!

Try going to System Preferences>iCloud, sign out, choose Delete at all of the prompts (your data will still be in iCloud), restart your Mac, then go back and sing back in (your data will download back to your Mac).  See if that stops the prompts for the password.

  • I am no longer being asked for a password when downloading an app, big problem with kids

I am no longer being asked for a password when downloading an app or music in iTunes, big problem with kids. How do I enable

To elaborate further, in those restrictions you can specify exactly what types of actions you would like to restrict.
I think you'll find this accomplishes your objective.

  • Repeatedly asking for apple password when adding security questions

when trying to download apps on ipod touch it asks me to choose 3 security questions (which i did 2 days ago when i first set it up )but when continuing to try and answer questions its repeatedly asks for apple password which i am entering correctly and doesnt seem to get any further and therefore i cant download apps.
    Can anyone help?

I encountered this on my son's iPod Touch. I tried an 'Update All', but since he has one or two apps from his sister's Apple ID and she wasn't here to enter her password (which stopped the whole process!) I wanted to just update the other apps (purchased on my Apple ID). However, since there wasn't an option to skip an app, it seemed the only way to update the others (around 50 apps) was to click on all the update buttons individually. That would have been annoying enough, but fancy being asked to type in my password for every… single… app!
Absolute madness. Does Apple not think through these things anymore? They used to pay such careful attention to little details of the user experience. Very frustrating.

  • Why does my iPad ask for a credit card to buy apps when I already have money on my iTunes account?

Why does it do that? It used to do that for free apps to but once I put my credit card on it, it stop asking for free apps. But now it still wants a card even though I still have 20 dollars left from a birthday gift card. I heard somewhere that this was because of a new feature to stop kids from downloading apps that their parents don't want them to or buying a bunch of apps and racking up a huge bill, is this part of it?

Is the card expired? You cannot have an expired card in your account.

  • Apple App Store asks for different password when updating an app. Its an old apple ID i don't know the pass for.

When I initially download an app on my iphone, I use my current apple ID. When I appstore tells me I have an update for an app, it asks me for a different apple ID, which I no longer use, nor know the password to.

Go to Settings/Store and verify your apple id stored there. You can tap on it and sign out, allowing you to log in with your new apple id.

  • Why does icloud keep asking for my password since installing iOS 8?

I installed iOS 8 on my iPhone 5S last night and now everytime I unlock my phone I am prompted for the iCloud password.
I tried to turn off icloud but it says it will erase all my photos.

Same here too (I have an iPhone5). There are a few more threads about this btw.

  • Why does Outlook keep asking for my password

Did you use the two-step authentication for Outlook? Is this a separate app from the native iOS mail app?

  • Why does FaceTime keep asking for the password for my email account?

Is it secure to provide the password for my email address to FaceTime?

Usually when that happens it is a problem on the mail provider's end.
In time they will catch it and it will end. Until then, there's nothing you can do on your end.
