Why does management VLAN ID matter in Cisco AP541n configuration?

is working on configure AP541n AP, is able to connect to the AP wired, assign AP static IP with proper subnet mask & default gateway,
when it's done, everything looks perfectly, but since I changed the management VLAN ID from 1 to 2, I can't even connect to the AP wired from the PC, why does the change matter?

Hi,
When working with access points in IOS mode also known as autonomous the access point requiers that you configure an Ip address on the BVI1 which is linked to the bridge group 1 and set us untagged.
Now when working with VLANS if the access point has an ip address on vlan x then you will need to confiugre this as the native vlan and with the bridgroup 1.
If you do not do this then you will see the issue you are reporting.
In other words if the access point will have an ip address for vlan 30 the the native vlan on the ap will need to be vlan 30 and vlan or the subnet for vlan one linked to the bridge group 1

If I place a video clip with a transition beneath another video track, the video/transition does not appear. It seems to have to always be placed above the track that I want to make a transition with... why?

If you are still having trouble understanding the "why":
Just look at it as stacking. If you place 3 different color pieces of paper evenly on top of each, which piece do you see? The one on top of course. If you drew letters on the papers and then staggered them, leaving portions of the lower papers visible, you would see all of the letters on the top piece, but only some of the letters on the lower piece since they would be obscured by the upper piece.
This is how the video tracks work, basically. You are stacking clips on top of each other. The uppermost track will cover anything below it.
Page 387, chapter 19, in the manual talks about compositing and layering tracks.

Management VLAN -- New to Cisco

I've been working on configuring VLANs for my network and I came across something that confuses me. Under practical tips in this docuemnt http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/473/189.html#tips it states:
Separate the management VLAN from the user or server VLAN, as in this diagram. The management VLAN is different from the user or server VLAN. With this separation, any broadcast/packet storm that occurs in the user or server VLAN does not affect the management of switches.
Do not use VLAN 1 for management. All ports in Catalyst switches default to VLAN 1, and any devices that connect to nonconfigured ports are in VLAN 1. The use of VLAN 1 for management can cause potential issues for the management of switches, as the first tip explains.
I understand the concept, and i've made my managment VLAN 10. However, when I connect a computer to the switch it doesn't default to VLAN1 it defaults to VLAN10 which puts the computer by default in the management VLAN.
What's the point of creating a different VLAN ID for management if the workstations are going to default to it anyhow? I understand once I configure the ports it will take them out of the management VLAN, I'm just wondering why I couldn't use VLAN1 as the management domain.

To support an inband management VLAN, you'll have to configure trunking (802.1Q) between switch uplinks allowing your management vlan (VLAN 10) traffic to traverse the trunk in addition to the user vlan (lets say vlan 20). To trunk, you must utilize a unique VLANs per subnet. I like to force trunking (switchport encap dot1q, switchport mode trunk, switchport nonnegotiate) so as not to utilize DTP (dynamic trunking protocol).
For user access, you need to configure the vlan on the switch and enable switchport mode access along with switchport access vlan 20 (user vlan).
Keep in mind, inband management works well for user access; however, for data center server access trunking is not recommended.
With all that said, you still may have to use VLAN 1 in certain scenarios. For instance, an IBM Blade center management module required the use of vlan 1 to manage the blade center.

If I plug my iPhone into a computer, and just want to play non-manually managed music, why does that computer have to be authorized?

My home base computer has been authorized to play music my friend has downloaded from iTunes. I can upload that music to my iPhone and play it on the phone without any issue. When I am at work, I plug my iPhone into my computer and play music through my work computer. But the music is not manually managed, nothing is being stored on that computer, it simply streams through to the headphone jack, allowing me to use iTunes as a control panel for the phone's music library.
I can play my own music just fine (because my work computer is authorized for my account). But I can't play my friend's music, because my work computer isn't authorized for HIS account. Nor should I expect him to waste one of his 5 authorizations on my work computer.
But why does it need to be so? If I'm already authorized to play his songs on my iPhone, then what difference does it make if it's streaming through my work computer or not? Why does Apple care, and why are my music playing rights being unnecessarily infringed? I am currently a very unhappy iTunes customer because of this.
We don't have to buy music from iTunes you know. If I buy the CD, I can upload it without any of these play rights issues. I can give my friend my CDs while he gives me his and all of this goes away. The harder and more user unfriendly playing music from the iTunes Store becomes, the less likely we'll be to buy it. This is a very simple fix. If my home base computer is authorized and I can put music on my iPhone, I should be able to play that music off the phone anywhere at any time, so long as I'm not making a copy. And I am not making copies. Fix this or we shop elsewhere.

I spent an hour on the phone w/ apple support this morning. I went through all the trouble shooting and it appears everything is working fine...until you plug the phone in and try to use itunes. Then they put me on hold for 20 min. While they did this i had a guy at work who had an older version of itunes on his cpu plug my phone in. Voila! It popped right up in iTunes. Their product specialist told me to uninstall and reinstall iTunes 8.2. Didn't work. Then they told me to uninstall and reinstall an older version of iTunes. That way I could get music on my phone, but I would not be able to update to the newest version of the iPhone OS. That's great and all, but it really hasn't solved any problems. I'm giving apple the benefit of the doubt due to the fact they just released the newest version of itunes, a new iphone, and a new iphone OS; so there's bound to be bugs and fixes. But that goodwill probably won't last to long. So if they won't fess up to the fact there's a problem w/ the new iTunes soon and fix it I guess they're going to have to give me a new phone.

After using Chrome in MS Windows for four years I have recently been considering a return to Firefox as my primary web browser.
After installing Firefox v26.0 my first requirement was to get the LastPass add-on, which I did via Firefox's "Add-Ons Manager". I signed in to my LastPass account and all should now have been well.
Not quite. Whenever I launched Firefox and logged in to LastPass, Firefox would hang for about a minute. The same occurred when I updated or created a LastPass record.
Then I checked the version of the LastPass plug-in: 2.0.20, built 2013-02-08. That's from eleven months ago!
I tried the update feature on the LastPass add-on menu, but it did nothing, so I went to LastPass.com and downloaded the latest version (3.0.12, built 2013-12-03). After a restart all was indeed well.
I had the exact same experience with Firefox on Linux, by the way.
Question: Why does the Firefox Add-Ons Manager point to an extremely out-of-date version of the LastPass Toolbar? Is this the fault of the Mozilla team or of LastPass themselves?
Whoever is at fault, it must be corrected and soon. I very nearly gave up on my switch back to Firefox because of this. I'm sure others will have had the same experience.

If I have a Creative Cloud subscription, why does the Application Manager say "Try" for the Acrobat XI Pro app? Shouldn't I be able to upgrade my existing X Pro version? I have tried in the past, but it will not work after download.

Re-reading my post from Saturday, I thought I could add some more detail about what I am actually seeing.
When I launch Adobe Acrobat XI Pro on my MacBook Pro running OS X 10.8.2, the standard Acrobat window providing options for the next actions I can take with Acrobat - Open a file, combine files into a PDF, etc. - appears briefly and then Adobe Application Manager launches automatically. AAM shows me a window labeled "Adobe Acrobat XI." At the top of the window area is the title "Serial Number Upgrade," and the text below that headline states, "Serial Number you provided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer." It goes on to state, "To use this serial number, you must own one of these qualifying products. Please choose the one you own and enter its serial number."

A: When a group is created on master console it will be pushed to all the managed amp which is added with Manage group configuration enabled. The Group pushed to the managed amp will be created as Global group and you can create subscriber groups for the global group to which you will add the device into since we cannot add any devices into global group directly.
Hence there is no device added to the global group, on the master console it does not show any device count for the groups that are created on master console.

I have all my switches configured to run on native vlan 500 and management on vlan 10
with the cisco access point , if I make 500 native or another word trunk untagged vlan then I can't access the router using the BVI interface which is meant to have ip from vlan 10.
vlan 10 is the management network across our business and all management ips are on that range.

When you connect the access point to the wired LAN, the access point links to the network using a bridge virtual interface (BVI) that it creates automatically. Instead of tracking separate IP addresses for the access point's Ethernet and radio ports, the network uses the BVI.
When you assign an IP address to the access point using the CLI, you must assign the address to the BVI. Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to assign an IP address to the access point's BVI:
Step 1
configure terminal
Enter global configuration mode.
Step 2
interface bvi1
Enter interface configuration mode for the BVI.
Step 3
ip address address

Assign an IP address and address mask to the BVI. Note If you are connected to the access point using a Telnet session, you lose your connection to the access point when you assign a new IP address to the BVI. Cisco 3750x DHCP and Management VLAN

We use 3750x switches in the stack, it has management VLAN (IP Address and Gateway configured correctly). I can ssh to switch fine. However we also use this switch as DHCP server for a number of different VLANS. So, I would create a DHCP pool, interface in this VLAN. Now, if I'm in VLAN3 that gets DHCP address on this switch I'm not able to ssh to this switch via Management VLAN IP Address 192.168.5.253 (can ping it fine), but I can ssh into this switch using Interface IP Address from the VLAN that I'm sitting on 192.168.3.253. For example

Cisco 3560 cg (change management vlan)

Good Day guys ,
i've purchased some of the new 3560 cg catalyst switches. Am looking for some guidance/assistance into the procedure to change the default (vlan 1) to my management vlan (x). I have been successful in the addition of all my vlans inclusive of the management to the switch using the following command "switchport access vlan x" via the command line.
Currently I have CE 500's in my environment which allows you to change the management vlan from the GUI. Any recommendations/ assistance as to how this is now done on the newer model switches via command line or GUI would be greatly appreciated.

TS2516 Why does text disappear from some of the pages? No matter what I do, to include reviewing spelling, the text will disappear in preview mode.

Why does text disappear from the pages in my iPhoto book project? When I try to buy the book, it comes up with spelling errors (which are names that the dictionary doesn't recognize), but even after clicking "ignore", the text disappears when I preview the book. Even this is inconsistent because the same words appear on other pages. There is text on other pages that disappear for no apparent reason. This has become very frustrating and time consuming.
