Why does 'Minimize' and 'Zoom' appear twice in the Window menu? They appear under the rule, where all the open windows are listed.

Running FF 6.02 on Mac OS 10.6.8.
Window menu reads:
Minimize
Zoom
Minimize
Zoom

[open window 2, etc.]

Thanks for your response. However, I see no mention of "layer-xxxxxx" appearing in the Window menu on the Mac menu bar in Firefox ''and'' that link says it only applies to Windows and Linux. May I ask what led you to that theory? Thanks...

You need to create a file userChrome.css in the chrome folder in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and paste the above posted code in the file.<br />
You can use the ChromEdit Plus extension to make it easier to edit the file.
You can access the profile folder via this button:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
That code will cause all hidden menu entries to get visible all the time, so you can use the mouse to open the menus and do not need to use the keyboard.

Why does pan and zoom create a gap in the video?

I am using pan and zoom to move around still pictures with Premiere Elements 10.0.
When I create the frames and pans in the picture and return to the timeline, PE has inserted a blank gap after the next cut in the video. The pictures are on a separate video track. The gap is just gray and I can't delete and close the gap. When I right-click the gap the Delete and Close Gap popup button is grayed out and cannot be clicked. I'm being very careful to make all of the hold durations plus the pan durations for all frames add up to be the exact length of the original still picture I'm using. Nothing I try seems to get around this problem.
Any suggestions will be greatly apprecieated.

I do not recall reading of a Bug in the program, that would create a gap. It would be more likely, that something is being done in the editing, that is creating the gap.
Having a Title on a Video Track "above" the Clips (Video, or Still), is the normal method of doing an overlay Title, that will appear above the Clips, and display as a superimposition of the Title over the Clip.
Now, when editing, one can control how the editing operation affects existing Clips on the Timeline. For instance, if one wishes to edit, or add material, and have that "ripple" all the existing material, then that is the default editing function. If they, instead, wish to have the edit, or the additional material "replace" Frames in the existing material, then this is done by holding down the Ctrl modifier key. It all depends on what the user requires to happen.

Why does Pan and Zoom mess up my timeline

Please forgive my ignorance as I am relatively new to this.
I just about have a finished video which include video clips and still images. I just went to add a Pan and Zoom effect to a still image and when I hit done it messed up my timeline - See below
First picture is the finished movie
Second picture you can see I added a Pan and zoom to the still image the marker is on
I can see the Pan and Zoom effecting the track it's on but why does it effect multiple tracks and can you please tell me what I am doing wrong?

Looks like Premiere Elements 12. On what computer operating system. Just in case we need to get into version specific details.
But this looks like an Premiere Elements issue in general.
Use of the Premiere Elements Pan and Zoom Tool results in the increased duration for the still to which the pan and zoom effect has
been applied.. The extent of the increased duration depends on how many frames you added to the effect. That was a just in case mention, you may have
known all that already.
I point that out since the increased duration of your still probably triggered the chain reaction in all parts of the Timeine.
There are various maneuvers to control disturbances of the existing Timeline when a new component is added. In this case, at this time, I am not sure what triggered your particular chain of events. But, please look at the following as a possible control of the situation that you described.
Select all at one time the content that you want to stay together, click anywhere in the selection and select Group. You can ungroup
this group later if you want. The individual components of the Group will move as one until you ungroup. To make the selection of
all the clips going into the Group, draw a rectangle with the mouse cursor to select those clips.
Another thought might be to do the still pan and zoom in an isolated unused portion of the Timeline and then move it into place in the
existing Timeline, holding down the Ctrl or Alt key as you make the placement.
Please consider and then let us know if any of that worked for you.

Greyed out "close", "minimize", and "zoom" controls with Yosemite

After updating to Yosemite, the "close", "minimize" and "zoom" controls for windows are not in color. They are shown in black and white, only. I am using a 13-inch mid 2010 Macbook Pro with 4 GB memory. Any ideas on what I need to do to get the colors back? I expect that there might be other areas in OS X where I have the same problem. Thanks for the question. There are two different things that could be happening here. First off, when a window is out of focus (another window or application is in use) the buttons will appear greyed out/inactive. Switching back to the window will return the color.
Second, if your “Appearance” setting in System Preferences > General is set to “Graphite” instead of “Blue” - this will occur.

Where are the resources (Graphics) for the Close, Minimize, and Zoom buttons located?

They appear to be in the /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreUI.framework/Versions/A/Resources/AquaUI. bundle/Contents/Resources/ folder, which can be navigated to with the Finder's Go to Folder command in the Go menu. They may also be in the LeopardUI.bundle folder, with the rest of the path identical.

Why does itunes and other media continue to play when i close the lid on my macbook pro 2011???

Hey, I am new to mac and still getting used to it (making the transition from windows), its amazing! Anyhow, I cannot figure out why my itunes and other media like youtube or a film on vlc player continues to play once the lid has been closed. I thought that when i close the lid the macbook should then sleep. It does everytime when there is nothing playing. The little white light on the bottom right hand corner of the book is on but music continues to play.
The sleep option always works. If I press the power button and choose the option sleep it does so etcc.
Is this normal and am I just being stupid or is there a problem??
I bought the laptop from ebay, its a macbook pro late 2011 17inch. I dont have apple support and might have to make a trip into London to the mac store however I was hoping someone can help me...

hey, thanks for the reply. I don't know to be perfectly honest. When I close the lid without any music playing it sleeps fine. How could I check?
So basically I pressed the power button and pressed sleep. The laptop turned off and the little white light turned on no problem. I did the same thing with closing the lid and it went to sleep no problem. (Can you confirm that when the little white light is on it means the laptop is sleeping)??.
I then had itunes playing and pressed the power button and when i pressed sleep the music paused then 6 seconds later it went to sleep. I then had itunes playing and closed the lid and the music kept on playing even though the white light was on.

I use a web based email and auto responder system. In the past I have been able to create a document in word and then copy and paste the content into a template. The font and size, style and color would save in the document as they were in word. Now when I do the same thing, they are converted to arial 10 black.

You can paste in any track you want, make sure the track is selected first before you paste.
Or Alt drag to any track without selecting the track first or even to a new track.

Try this procedure; it has worked for many people.
Un-sync all your music to remove it from the device, then restart (hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go). Now re-sync your music.

What to do probably depeds on the version of Mac OSX you are running. In 10.6, if you have a third-party mouse, you can kill that function in System Preferences > Mouse by unchecking the bottom-most check box:
If you have a Magic Mouse, the control panel is different but has the same funcrtion:
Uncheck the "Screen Zoom" box under "One Finger" or adjust its options using the button provided.
Again, these screenies are fro OS 10.6.8; I don't have a Mac with Lion or Mountain Lion, but I doubt it's too different.
