Why does my infinite pulse train stop early?

Dear Community,
I have a pulse train task running on counter 7 of a PXI-6608.
The source is the oven-controlled stable 10MHz clock, which is passed to it over RTSI2. The Gate is constant low.
It's supposed to be high for 5e7 ticks, then low for 2^32-5e7 ticks. I.e., high for 5 seconds every time the 10MHz clock completes 2^32 cycles.
It runs fine for 56 hours, and then stops (no more pulses). Is there any reason why this would happen?
My vi uses the old NI-DAQ drivers.

Hi Casimir,
That is strange behavior that you are seeing. Is the 56 hour run time consistent, or is there noticeable variation from one run of your application to the next? Are there any errors thrown by the driver when the pulse train stops? Are you using an embedded PXI controller or an external PC via MXI?

However, tonight a message appeared when I attempted to open files saying ..."if the document does not load then the pdf viewer may not be able to display this type of document"
I went to the website provided to download Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
Although I was able to load pdf documents and fill in forms, the program repeatedly would crash whenever I attempted to click on scroll down options on forms.
Any help is appreciated
....and talk/write slowly for I am not super computer literate.

Dear Aedesh, Thank you for your assistance. I did all that you instructed below, regarding uninstalling, and using the Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool. I restarted my computer, then installed Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (for Windows 7, English and version: Reader DC 2015). I continue to have the problems: (1) When I attempt to use a scroll down option within a pdf form, the program stops working. (2) If I send the pdf to my iPhone, and I open the pdf, I receive the message "Please wait...if the message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your pdf viewer may not be able to display this type of document..." However, when I send pdf's created earlier than 4-28-15, I am able to open in my iPhone.I am able to open on my laptop the pdf's created after 4-28-15, but have the scroll option issue (thank you in advance for your patience)Luisa

Finite pulse train, stop and count

Hi, i'm using Labview 8.2 with a DaqCard-6063E on Windows Vista. I generate a finite pulse train with a possibility to stop when ever I want, but how do I do to count the number of pulses?
(The application going to drive a stepper motor forward/backward so I need the number of pulses)

I think you probably mean the 6036e, right? I've got 2 basic ideas for you:
1. Always generate continuous pulses and always count on using your software to decide when to stop. This is *probably* not the solution you want, but it would make life simpler if you can live with it. The reason is that continuous pulse trains only require 1 counter so you can just count those pulses with the 2nd counter. Finite pulsetrains use up both counters. I suspect you need the finite pulsetrain though to define a nominal exact distance, but in case your software decides you must stop prematurely, you'd like to know where you are.
2. Configure an AI task or an AO task that uses your counter output as its sampling clock. Then you can query the AI/AO task for a property like "Total Samples Acquired" or "...Generated" to get your step count. You would do the query with a DAQmx property node -- either a Read or Write property node if I recall correctly (not presently near LV to check). Note also that you should start your AI or AO task before starting the Counter task, and if you stop the counter task, do your query before stopping the AI / AO.

The thing is, the music does not cease prior to the slideshow start. Or At least it doesn't cease on my ATV.
I do have Flickr set as screensaver indeed, but having to change screensaver settings to watch a new slideshow is just plain annoying IMO.
Ane the fact that the music plays when a screensaver slideshow is active is a proof that technically the ATV could support the feature.

It appears your iPhone has an issue relating to sound. The following article may help you find a solution:
If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker - Apple Support
Can't hear anything from the built-in speaker of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch? Maybe you can hear, but the sound is distorted, muffled, intermittent. Or maybe you hear static or crackling noises. If your iOS device has any of these issues, follow these steps.
Follow these steps and test the sound after each one.
Go to Settings > Sounds and drag the Ringer And Alerts slider to turn the volume up.
If you can hear sound from the speaker, then the speaker works. Continue with these steps to find the setting or switch that's affecting the sound. If you can't hear sound from the speaker, contact Apple Support.
Make sure the Ring/Silent switch is set to ring. If you can see orange, it's set to silent.
Restart your device.
Open an app that has music or sound effects. Adjust the volume with the volume buttons or the slider in Control Center.
Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn off Bluetooth.
If there's still no sound, connect a headset. If you can hear sound through the headset, remove it and clear any dust or debris from the headset jack of your device.
If the device is in a case, make sure that the case doesn't block the speaker.
Use a brush to gently clear any debris from the speaker and Lightning connector (or 30-pin dock connector). The brush should be clean and dry and have soft bristles.
Update your device to the latest version of iOS.

Why does my iSight camera periodically stop working, requiring PMU reset?

Just wondering why this happens?
Using a Feb 2011 Macbook Pro with OSX Lion 10.7.4
It seems that every time i use my built-in iSight camera, then the next time i go to use it, it can not be found. This requires that I reset the PMU, which is kind of annoying. Then it works for a few weeks and the cycle of iSight begins again.
Why does this happen? It seems pretty trivial to consistently recognize a camera which is wired into my computer. Is there something I could do to prevent this from happening again? I have tried turning it on and off again.
And currently, this article is linking to the reset instructions for Intel iMac instead of the Macbook Pro page...

One of the following will fix it.
(0) If you need help with the following suggestions,
      you might rather contact your local retailer or
      Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) for help.
      They can help you or determine whether your Mac
      needs hardware service or only a software problem.
(1) Close all open apps that use the camera and then
     try again with only one app running at a time.
     If the problem continues, delete any Log-In items and
     Dashboard Widgets that might be using your camera.
(2) Try Apple's http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090
     Be sure to use the correct SMC/PMU reset procedure
     for your particular MBP model: model with a battery
     you should not remove on your own
     If these suggestions do not help, yours may be a
     hardware problem that will require a professional fix.
    Unless you have a current backup, make one now.
    Then use the final "Troubleshooting" suggestion:
"... contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service."
(3) If you want to try one more thing on your own first,
     you can use Disk Utility to repair permissions. Then
     download and apply the latest Lion Combo Update:

    Repair permissions again immediately following the
    system restart that completes the Combo update.
Properly applying the Combo version of updates can sometimes correct software problems, but, if your trouble is caused by a hardware problem, there are no user serviceable parts of iSight. See your AASP for hardware problems.

The article actually has THREE links to TWO different SMU/PMU reset instructions:
• iMac G5 (iSight),
• Intel-based iMacs;
• MacBook and MacBook Pro
You should use the last one ( http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964 ) Yes, it is the same article as for iNtel-based iMacs, but it is the correct one for you.
The important thing is to page down to the section entitled "Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)".   Then click the reveal triangle ( ▶ ) to see and carefully follow the specific reset instructions for "Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own". This is the proper reset process for your "Feb 2011 Macbook Pro".
