Why does my Mac constantly turn off

I was listening to iTunes on my Mac when it died. When it died, I put it on charge, and turned it back on. When turning it back on, it loaded for around 15 seconds, then restarted itself. It did this on a continous loop. The only way I am able to keep the mac on is to constantly press any key on the keyboard. By doing this I am able to log into my Mac and use it freely (as long as I am pressing a key). As soon as I stop pressing a key, I get a pop up asking if I'm sure I want to close the Mac down. If I click cancel, it still closes down. I don't know what to do to fix the issue...

OK, so let's first do a SMC reset -> http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964.
If no luck with that, try booting into your Lion Recovery partition by holding down the command and R keys whilst booting. Once there, open Disk Utility and select your boot drive on the left (usually named "Macintosh HD" unless you've renamed it) and click on the "Verify" button. If you get red text saying that the drive needs to be repaired, click on the "Repair" button.
Call back,
Clinton

  • Why does my phone constantly turn off on its own as if the battery is dead?

why does my phone constantly turn off on its own as if the battery is dead? Its so annoying! Every day once my battery life span is at about 40%, my phone will start shutting down with the dead battery sign once it is down. Then after about 3 minutes i can turn it back on.

Tons of people have this problem with iPhone 4S and 5, whether they are on iOS 6 or 7. You can only hope that one day Apple realizes that this bug (software ? hardware ?) is a *real* pain. So far, they haven't paid attention.

Not much to work with here...
How about more info so a diagnosis and help can be formulated? Mac model (size), RAM, OS version, age, battery status? What are you doing when it happens? How often? And if you want to be really abundant, pertinent logfiles?

    Hi ManiPictures,
If your iPhone shuts down unexpectedly during use, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
If your iOS device restarts, displays the Apple logo, or powers off while you're using it - Apple Support
As your iPhone's operating system is already up to date with iOS 8.1.1, follow the last instruction -
If you still see this issue after updating, contact Apple Support.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

why does my ipod nano turn on and off?

    Error 9
This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.
Did you try everything above, including trying on another computer? If so then
Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Why does my ipad keep turning off mirroring

When I try to turn on mirroring of my iPhone 4 or iPad2 it just turns off within seconds. Why?

Tony, try shutting down completely anything else you are doing. ( double tap the home key etc). Mirroring is a real load on both the processor as well as the wifi.  Trying to mirror and fast game, for instance, will push the padmto the limit.  And whn it crosses over the limit, it just shuts down.  If you are trying to mirror a game, amke sure all the safari uses are shut off.  If you are trying to mirror a web page, make sure the games are closed off.

  • Why does my ipod touch turn off and not turn on for a while

every once in a while my ipod touch turns off and wont turn back on for a day or two. So why does it do this, it is from over use of the ipod?

Try the following fixes in order:
    - Reset:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore the iPod from backup via iTunes
    - Restore the iPOd to factory defaults/new iPod
If yo still have the problem you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Why does my iPod keep turning off by itself

why does my ipod touch keep turning off by itself?

Is it running hot? There are thermal limits that will shut it down.
As old as your iMac is, have you cleaned out the dust? Dust buildup can lead to over heating issues. Remove any and all things plugged into it including the power cord, Remove the RAM access grille. Vacuum all openings starting with the RAM access area (air intake). Vacuum all ports and plugs, DVD slot and the opening across the top of the rear of the body. Blow compressed air through all your openings and vacuum again to remove any dust you loosend. Reinstall the RAM grille. Plug in the keyboard and mouse if not blue tooth. Insert power cord...
You are now in a perfect position to do a
