Why does my Safari screen keep zooming in?

First off, I LOVE OSX Lion. It's the fastest system upgrade I've ever seen on a Mac. With that said, I have this problem. I'm using a Magic Mouse. Just since my Lion upgrade, while I'm in Safari, browsin', every so often it just zooms in close on the page. Doesn't matter the site. It does it on a google search or a Mac discussions page. Something I am inadvertently doing or some glitch with the system (with mouse?). I say mouse because it usually happens as I move the mouse over to click on something on the page. I thought it might be a combination of twitching fingers on mouse top, and maybe the movement of mouse together. I don't know, but when it happens I can't undo it. So I have to get out of the page. If I just try to reload page, or put the same thing in the search engine again, it doesn't matter, it still is zoomed. It's ridiculous.
Anybody know how I can either stop it or zoom back? I'm puzzled.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Leonard

This happened to me, and I started paying really close attention to what I was doing . . .. I found that, being used to a wired Apple mouse, I got into the habit of tapping on the top of the mouse while waiting for the page to change.  This sets off Zoom on the Magic Mouse.
So see if that's what's happening with you.  I have to really watch it.  I've gotten much better at not subconsciously tapping on the top, but it still happens every once in a great while.  Otherwise, I love the Magic Mouse.
EDIT:  If this is what's happening with you, you can undo it by tapping again on the top of the mouse.  It's like a toggle.

i have an ipod touch 4th generation and whenever i open an application up the screen keeps flashing white.
why is it doing this? and how do i fix it?

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.
Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store..

  • Why does my Ipad screen keep freezing even after rebooting

My ipad screen keeps freezing and remains stuck. So in the last hour this has happened 3 times after hard "reboots". Can someone explain whats going on? Uwas not downloading anything ..only looking at Facebook.

    Hello, Nina1711.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Try closing all open applications in multitasking and power cycling the device.  Test the responsiveness of the iPad after processing these steps.  If the issue persists, check to make sure you have space available on the iPad in Settings/General/About.  If there is no space available you may want to remove unwanted Apps or media as this can cause the unit to become unresponsive.  If these steps have been processed with the issue persisting, you will need to restore the device.  Make sure to backup the device prior to restoring.

  • Why does new Safari screen appear almost every day?

Almost every day, I get a screen welcoming me to Safari, as if I had never used Safari before. This has been going on for about a week. In each case, I reset the settings, but the next day a new "Welcome" screen appears.

  • Why does my Macbook Pro keep zooming, scrolling, clicking, highlighting, etc. without me doing anything?

For the past three days my Macbook Pro has been acting like it has a mind of its own.  It will randomly highlight things, scroll up and down, switch to dashboard, zoom in on the webpage I'm looking at, and click on things.  It does it when my fingers are on the trackpad both stationary and moving around, but also when I stop touching the computer altogether.  I've tried restarting the computer and it stops freaking out for a little while, but then goes back to it.  I updated my Mac software last night to see if that would help and it's still doing it.  Any ideas?  Should I take it in to a Mac store to get checked out?

See My mouse keeps moving around on its own, as if someone is remotely controlling my Mac!

  • Why Does My Safari App Keep Crashing

ok. So my ipod just started doing this thing a couple of days ago, and its like, whenever im on Safari on my app, after like 3 sec it will always crash. I dont have the latest update, so maybe thats the problem. Its really annoying

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>Safari and Clear Cookies, Data and History
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Why does my 5C screen keep clicking?

I have gotten my iPhone 5c screen fixed twice because it kept on making a clicking noice. It stopped for a while after the second time I got it fixed and now it is starting again. What do I do??? this clicking gets really annoying and my friends iPhone 5c screen does not click at all.

No.  If Apple determines that full unit replacement is the next option, you'll get a remanufactured device, identical in model, carrier, capacity & color as your current one, but one that has gone through a very detailed inspection and certified to have no hardware issues.

  • Why does my Safari browser keep having pop-ups and new windows open without permission?

Whenever I click on a button to go to another page or something, a new tab with a new website opens up. When I search on Google, there are all kinds of ads and pop-ups on there. I really know nothing about Internet security, so I do not know what is wrong.

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan. Remove it as follows.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. These instructions are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
    Step 1
From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot," "Trovi," or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
Reset the home page and default search engine in all the browsers, if it was changed.
    Step 2
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.vsearch.agent.plist" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.daemon.plist
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.helper.plist
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/Jack.plist
Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Then delete the following items in the same way:
    /Library/Application Support/VSearch
    /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/Jack
    /System/Library/Frameworks/VSearch.framework
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ConduitNPAPIPlugin.plugin
Some of these items may be absent, in which case you'll get a message that the file can't be found. Skip that item and go on to the next one.
The problem may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the Internet criminal behind VSearch has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • Why does my MacPro screen keep freezing

The screen on my MacPro laptop regularly freezes after only a few minutes even when only one or two applications are open

Do y have to reboot to resolve the problem?
If not what do you have to do?
After it occurs not the time of the occurrence and then after it works again open the Console app in Finder>Application>Utilities and look for log entries at that time. Post suspicious ones here.

  • Why does my macbook screen keep crashing?

Ok, so i dual booted (through boot camp) windows 7 64bit, but now it seems when i close the laptop shut, or sometime just waking it up from hibernation, (sometimes not all the time) the screen will come up pure white with flickering yellow splotches, im not quite sure how to describe the problem cause ive never seen anything like it before. There is no way to navigate the screen and it never return to normal, the only solution i found is to hold the power button until it shuts off then turn it back on.
Has anyone had this issue? Please help i need to know if i should send my comp to apple!

  • Why does my iMac screen keep switching off / going black?

After about one half hour of use my new iMac screen switches off / goes black.
The screen can be switched on by pressing the power button on the back on the machine a few times. It remains lit for about 20 seconds. This can comntinue for about half an hour when it stops switching off or when I give up.
I have conrtacted Apple but they have been unable to solve the problem.
The machine is just not fit for purpose as I cannot use it for work.
It appears from the internet that this is a recurring imac problem.
Please, what am I to do?

Call AppleCare (number is in the manual) and then request to speak to Customer Service. Be patient, organized and articulate and they will transfer you. When you get to speakt to someone then explain your problem and ask for their help. You should have all your receipts, invoices, trouble ticket numbers etc available for reference.
You can also take to an Apple Store in Spain, while this may not be convenient at least then an Apple person can see the machine and work on it.

  • Wht does my computer screen keeps going dark?

Why does my computer screen keep going dark?

Good. This means that, in your existing account, a setting is bad or .plist file is corrupt. As identifying the rascal may take time, my suggestion is to move data to the new account, must be with administrative privileges. As the contents of each account is unavailable to the other, there are two methods:
    - if you have a backup on an external disk, as you should (if not, consider this seriously, do not count on good behavior of hard disks), make a last backup on the existing account, and restore in the other account; when ready, delete the old (buggy) account
    - if not, save your settings unto a flash drive; this is a limited backup just to avoid putting back settings for Mail etc. I am satisfied with iBackup (grapefruit.ch), but there are other backup utilitites, Time Machine, for example; TM does not allow limited backup, it works if you have a large external disk. If backup disk is not available, move files to shared folder, which is visibile from both accounts, and from there to the new account.
May seem difficult, in fact it is not. You must just move data from one account to another. Now, take care to new apps you install or new functions you activate. When you notice something strange, that may be the cause of this behavior.
