Then a few minutes later, it goes back to expanded again, it is driving me crazy. how can I stop this????

There could be a number of reasons, first thing to check is if you are clicking Command + or Command -. The Command 0 keystrokes restore Safari to the actual size. You can also reset Safari by Safari - Reset.

Why does dvd studio Pro all of a sudden want my serial number?
Using DVDSP 4.2.1. This has been stable on my Mac Pro for many years now. The file importer got confused somehow and even Activity Monitor had trouble force quitting.
I repaired permissions and rebooted and all seemed fine. Now about every 3 or 4 times I start DVDSP it'a asking for me to put in my identifying info, including the SN.. I've got the SN, but I don't feel all warm and fuzzy about this. Does anyone know what has happened and how I can be sure things are not going to lock me out when I need to keep going on a project?I have had this problem occur rather often. Not sure which OS you are running. A couple of things, after entering the number, close it out and open the older version of Motion (the one from the Studio and install discs, not the new one if you purchased through app store.)
Then either launch DVD Studio Pro via going into the App Folder and open a project that way OR close out DVD SP and click a DVD SP project to open it. Yeah, it sounds weird. On one of my computers following one of those seems to have cut down the asking for a serial number a lot, while on another computer the second version seems to work. I have not tracked down where the problem came from yet, but I had the same thing - stable for years. And I do not recall even doing any updates because once I have computers working, I leave them alone unless needed. I am guessing I probably loaded a driver or something..... -
I bought a LaCie memory stick a couple of months ago. It worked fine. Now all of a sudden I get the message "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer". What has happened? Is all my data lost? Can I retrieve it? I tried to fix it with Disk Utility (which at least correctly recognises the stick), and even though I can click on my memory stick I can't do anything to it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
According to an ASC member who claims to work for HP, this issue can be resolved by repairing the permissions of the startup volume in Disk Utility. I can't confirm, but it has apparently worked in at least one case.

Why does siri sound different all of a sudden?
So I'm currently using a Verizon iPhone 5s and got it about 2 weeks ago. When I first used siri she had more of a fluent human like voice but now she sounds robotic, like how when the iPhone 4s came out with siri she sounded robotic.

The scroll pad on my laptop no longer works with FF. Yet it works with every other concievable program i could use it for.

== 2 weeks agoSomething you can try is resetting it all Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings. Or go to Settings > Store & sign out & log back in. Another thing you can do is restore your ipod. This has happened to me but the only thing i did was that i created a new account but try doing the things above i just told you. :)

After using my MacBook Pro and pages for 2 years with the same printer, all of a sudden I can't print a pages doc even though the printer works and I can print from I/Mail, etc. Anyone have a possible answer?
Often printing problems are a sign of corrupt preferences. Go to HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences, delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist file & then restart Pages.

Why does iPhoto 6 imports all photos in two folders: modified and original
I upgraded from iPhoto 5 to 6. Now I have all my photos in the order and with the name I have given to the rolls. Great!
However, everytime I import new photos from my compact flash card iPhoto automatically modifies the photos by reducing the size and adjusting the orientation. These photos are on average 25-50% of the original size and are saved under the folder: pictures /iPhoto library /modified.
At the same time iPhoto saves the original photos to the folder: pictures/iPhoto library / originals.
The problem is that having more then 6GB of photos this set-up starts to fill my harddisk (presently an additional 2 GB).
How can I change or cancel this feature. Does anybody have an idea or similiar expierence.

iPhoto is not just an image viewer, but is a Database with a built-in image viewer, version control and lightweight editing.
A Note about the iPhoto Library Folder:
In this folder there are various files, which are the Library itself and some ancillary files. Then you have three folders
Originals are the photos as they were downloaded from your camera or scanner.
(ii) Modified contains edited pics, shots that you have cropped, rotated or changed in any way. This also includes photos that have been auto-rotated by your camera.
This allows the Photos -> Revert to Original command - very useful if you don't like the changes you've made.
(iii) Data holds the thumbnails the the app needs to show you the photos in the iPhoto Window.
So each element is there for a reason and there is no actual duplication.
The notion of version control (the ability to revert to an Original) is central to the philosophy of the application, and if you don't want the feature, then the application may not be for you. There are many image viewers available.

Why does Illustrator on Windows 7, 64bit, take 30seconds+ to save a simple image comprising of two rectangles only (screen shot below)? I set up a document like this to test the speed, since I've been having trouble saving all documents - they hang, sometimes with the 'this program is not responding' message. Switching to CC is not an option.
If it helps, I can come down to the Adobe San Francisco office with my computer. I've spent a long time trying to resolve this without success.
Btw, Photoshop CS6 saves fine.

Can't locate email content? All of a sudden my email content has disappeared from inside MacMail? The actual emails are coming through but I am unable to view them in the content area! Nothing has been done to have changed this?

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2. -

Same problem for me. Really a pain in the *** this bug ! Does Apple fixed it. I'm really suprised noone reports this problem and apple does not adress this.
Because of that, I cannot give it anymore to children because it hurts the view. Really a shame on the part of apple !

why does a standalone program created in Labview 8.5 try connecting to the internet when the program only reads data through the serial port? Firewalls object to progams that contact the internet without permission.
The created program is not performing a command I have written when it tries to connect to the internet, it must be Labview that is doing it. How do I stop this from happening?

Why does my caller I.D. photos show as a small thumbnail in the upper right corner and not full screen? I have used both photos I have synced and photos I have taken, yet others have full screen photo I.D.'s. I have looked onlime at several threads and there are no real answers as to what I need to do or am doing wrong.
I am also having this issue.
I've just spoken to someone in the Apple Support Centre who advised me that since the product is in beta, he is unable to assist. I wanted to find out whether someone was able to delete the data for me, or 'reset' the photos app somehow. This apparently cannot be done. He suggested I provide feedback via the feedback page, which I will do, but to be honest doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence in the issue being fixed.
I also deactivated the service and waited the 30 days for the pictures to be deleted - this should have been completed in mid-January. Instead, my iCloud.com Photos page is now showing the photos that should have been deleted as grey squares, just as you described. I am also unable to delete these photos; every time I try, I get the same message about a server error.
I am also unable to disable the service by enabling and then disabling it on my iPhone. Each time I have tried this it hangs on uploading for several hours, with the progress bar not moving at all. When I disable it on my iPhone, the web app remains unchanged.
If anyone has had this issue and has managed to fix it, PLEASE share your wisdom. I am out of patience! -

imessage has a new setting that shows all emails associated with your apple id. There are two sections, send and receive. Since you are using the same apple id, Im sure if you adjust one of those settings to your mobile number instead of your appleid, it wont send double.
You might also have to adjust your wifes settings too, so those emails dont overlap -

Sounds to me like you may have gotten a machine with hardware issues, but it's hard to say. It will shut down if it gets too hot, but that's not a normal occurrence. I have never seen a MacBook Pro shut down due to heat, even after lengthy 3D gaming sessions where the fans are running fast and the bottom of the machine is unpleasant to touch.
First thing I would try to do is reset the SMC. If that doesn't help, erase the hard drive and reinstall the system from scratch, which you should always do with a used machine anyway.
If a fresh system doesn't help, you'll need to get it checked out by Apple.
Edit: Oh, and sig is absolutely right... please don't post in all caps! It's very irritating.
