Why doesn't flash player stay installed and why does the saved file disappear.

Why doesn't flash player stay installed and why does the saved file disappear.  I have downloaded and installed flash player several times on my Win7 Vaio laptop. I have uninstalled and deleted all versions.  I am the administrator and I have also turned off my Security Software, but the same thing keeps happening over and over.  The Java Script is enabled and I have tried both downloading via IE and firefox.  It is rediculous that it keeps disappearing and I keep getting messages that the newest version is needed.  I am downloading directly from adobe and they say it is the latest.  Getting very frustrated.  They ask if we have any problems when we go to the finish line, but there is no place for comments.  I guess they don't really care if it works or not.

So is it actually installed, or is it not?  If not, download and run the offline installers:
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
If it still does not work correctly, check
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/885448
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968
In Firefox also check if the Shockwave Flash plugin is enabled.

  • Why doesn't flash player work even though I've downloaded it and enabled it?

flash player was already download to my computer when i bought it. it has been working fine for about a year but it suddenly stopped working about 4 weeks ago? I've tried searching up whats happening but nearly all the websites say it would be because flash player is disabled but i followed the steps time after time only finding it to be enabled. no one seems to the have answer? please help! i've already spent hours trying to made it work again and I'm getting frustrated!
    i have a 64-bit operating system windows 8
and i forgot what else i needed to put

First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968
Internet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.
You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11
If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative.

  • Flash player is installed and up to date, but Safari refuses to register it.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled flash player multiple times, and in my preferences it's listed as version 11.1.102.55. Yet when I open Safari all I see is "Missing Plug-In" as though it isn't even on my computer. I'd rather not change browsers, as I haven't had this problem for almost a year until now.

On a Mac, it is installed in the Applications folder. You would either launch it from there the first time. Then I would add it to the dock.
If you're a Windows user, someone else will help you.

  • Why doesn't flash player load movies when in secure connection?

I have a new computer running on Windows 7 64bit with ESET Smart Security 5 RC. I installed the latest flash player which works perfectly fine as long as I don't use a secure connection (https). Whenever I'm on a secure webpage I see an empty white frame where there should be a flash object. Rightclicking produces a menu with two items: "movie not loaded" (in grey) and "about Adobe flash player". I've gone through troubleshooting and I've checked the security settings of my 32bit IE9 browser, which are all set to default. Also I checked my firewall and couldn't find anything unusual; anyway, turning it off altogether didn't fix the problem. Does anyone have any idea what else could cause this behaviour?

    Thanks for these suggestions.
I have added the sites to the trusted sites in IE and that didn't help.
Things are a bit more complicated with the global security settings of the flash player. When I click your link, I see the note (Note: The Settings Manager that you see above is not an image; it is the actual Settings Manager itself.), but no settings manager, so I cannot click any tabs. I can rightclick to go to global settings, but I can find no global security settings. A complicating factor is that I'm located in Poland and even though the installer correctly notes that I'm running an English language Windows system, it will only install flash player in Polish - and translations are usually not so good. So I have an "advanced" tab in the settings manager and I added my secure sites to the trusted sites, even though it says this is for programmers only. Anyway - this didn't help either.
Please help, as this problem has cut me off from my bank account!

  • Why doesn't Flash Player install on my desktop?

It all began with Windows Live mail which - all of a sudden - didn't load and I was advised to download Flash Player which already was in my desktop PC.After having removed the old version I downloaded the new version of Flash Player and got McAffee as a bonus beside. McAffee loaded rapidly but Flash Player seemed to load - the green colored line was full but the program was still loading for at least half an hour which has to be wrong.
I'm running XP Home SP3 32 bits on a flat screen and use IE version 8.0  128 bits.
Hoping for help from anyone and please, explain in very understandable words.

Noticed today after updating my flash player to 10.2.152.32 that my screen started flickering when switching among videos on youtube and elsewhere. I uninstalled latest version and re-installed previous version 10.2.152.26 and problem went away. I wonder if future udates have this problem fixed. For the Japanese, regardless of whether you choose option one or two, you are required you to pay the entire balance on your credit card each month. A charge card has to be paid off in full every month, a credit card doesn’t – the author seems to be using the two terms interchangeably, which they are not. The cashier recounted to me in Japanese each item she rang up, not that I understood what she was saying. Obviously she realized this because when it came time to announce the total, she smiled politely and turned the display around for me to see the price. I handed her my credit card.

  • The latest version of flash player is installed and yet none of the programs that use it can find or access it. I am running Windows 7. Is there anything in the Registry that could be blocking flash player from being accessed or used?

The subject is the question. Files with flv extensions cannot be run or identified. Other software that uses flash player such as Rhapsody, can't find or use it either. It feels like a registry problem. Please do not waste time suggesting I uninstall and reinstall flash player as I have done than several times with no improvement or solution.

Flash Player is a plugin, and typically used by browsers (and sometimes other software.)  Flash, by itself, won't open flv files.  Instead you'd load those files into your web browser and it would load Flash to render them.
I don't know if Rhapsody uses the ActiveX or NPAPI versions of Flash Player.  Which do you have installed?  You can check this by going into the Programs and Features control panel and looking for the Adobe Flash Player entry(s).  It'll say NPAPI, PPAPI, or ActiveX at the end.

  • Why wont my flash player stay downloaded?

I have 3 times downloaded the flash player update from the page and it keeps not staying downloaded. I hit finish I do all it says and then nothing happens. I thought this was fixed and came back to try to see something online and it did it again so I dowloaded the third time. What am I doing wrong? And no I dont see the dancing thing in the box on the page you check to see if you do. I clicked and it took me to the same page I keep going to and not getting anything downloaded. I am really frustrated I have never had this issue before!

I am having a similar problem and there is no clear instructions to follow these eggheads only know how to instruct people who don't need any help I am completely lost and have no one to help not only with Adobe Flash Player but most of Microsoft articles are treated the same either I sillier then I thought I was or they speak a differnt language to me. • Auto-checking if Flash player is installed and loading other page if not

    Hi,
can someone tell me if it's possible and if yes what the
    script is and
where to put it in order to:
have the browser check upon loading page X to see if the
user's computer has Flash player installed. If answer is "no", then
browser loads page Y instead of page X.
    Thanks
    Peter

You can detect the Flash player (and version) with javascript
and redirect or change the visibility of DOM objects based on the
    detection results.
I believe that SWFObject has this functionality built in by
    default:
    http://code.google.com/p/swfobject/
Dreamweaver also has a pre-built behavior to do this.
Behaviors panel: click the plus button and select "Check Plugin",
select "Flash" from the drop-down list at the top and fill in the 2
    URLs. Presto!

  • Flash Player is installed and enabled. Getting message it is not installed.

I have uninstalled FP and Java.  Reinstalled and enabled BOTH.  Turned off my firewall and my security system before I installed both.  When I test FP it says it is not installed and to DL.  When I try youtube same message.  But when I check my system, the program is installed.  What do I do at this point?

    What OS?
    What browser?

  • My Flash player sometimes works and sometimes does not

I have an issue with my flash player on one specific website. Here is the link:
    http://www.joj.sk/sudna-sien/sudna-sien-archiv.html
Sometimes I can play videos from archive and sometimes can´t. I use Windows 7.
I thought it is a problem of the server where are the videos stored. But on my secom computer (Windows Vista) the videos works fine, so server problerm I can exclude.
I use the same version of the flash player on the both computers. It is 10.2.152.32 . Las time when it did not work, I installed the newest version of the Flash player, but it did not work too. So I installed back the older vesion 10.2.152.32.
On Youtube i never had this problem. It works fine.
I have no idea where can be the problem. Is there any setting for flasplayer or cache or cokkies or something else, or maybe firewall?  Please help.  Thanks.

Sorry, I don't understand "can't"; can you explaint?
P.S. all videos on that site play fine for me with Flash Player 11.1.102.55.

  • Doesn't even begin to install and can't read Readme file

I inserted the DVD in my Mac, but after some whirring, no installation screen came up.
I clicked on the DVD icon, which showed various versions of the Readme file, but when I clicked on the ReadMe, it just opened FIrefox to my home page.
I'm using an intel iMac 10.6.2.
    Thank you for any help!

Thanks! I thought I had tried that, but I also had expected that it would just install since that's what other products on the Mac seem to do.
Thank you again for your help!

  • Flash player is installed and fully up to date but keeps crashing my streams trying to make me install it again

    I'm on a Mac, 10.8.5
I am trying to watch video streams but every few minutes the tab switches to a flash popup that says I have to install flash to view the page. I installed it and it is all up to date but it keeps doing this over and over and over and over.
Why is Adobe doing this and what do I need to do to make it stop? It's extremely annoying and so far customer service has been absolutely useless despite the so-called support promise they have.
Someone please help with this problem...

Also if there is a link I can use for one of those instant message chat supports (if Adobe offers that) can someone put it here? I keep following prompts on the website that look like they're sending you to someone who can help but all they do is send your in circles. I think Adobe should re-think that "promise" for support since even their phone lines don't have any option for Flash support or even an email address. Absolutely NOT a good company for customer support, that's for sure.
Thanks to anyone who may be able to help me, hopefully someone in the community will be better help than I've received so far!
