Why doesn't the Firefox print window not provide a double-sided printing option?

My HP printer is capable of printing double-sided, which saves paper, but the Firefox Print Window does not offer a double-sided printing option. (I recently switched from IE, which did.) Do I have to do something to add it?

Can you post a screen shot of what you're seeing?
The relevant print options for your printer appear under Properties AFTER you click the Print button and select the printer to be used.

When changing the default printer in windows vista why doesn't the default printer change in firefox (firefox was running when the default printer was changed)?

I am not sure whether or not this is a bug or a feature, but I was running firefox on my laptop. I then went to add a new printer and set it as a default printer. When I went back to firefox to print, it did not automatically choose that new default printer as the printer of choice. I then had to choose the new printer manually to print to. This is merely a convenience issue but thought I would bring it to the attention of Mozilla in case.

do you have your previous printer also, or you uninstall the previous printer and then install the new one and make it default ?
I think firefox must be closed when you set up a new printer. Do you have it open when set up the new printer ?

Why doesn't the HP printer show up in the printer setup utility?

Can't understand why the HP2100 TN laserjet printer that is networked(ethernet) via a Snow basestation does not automatically show up in my list of printers. I also downloaded HP's drivers for it.
My boyfriend's Powerbook running 10.3 is able to automatically see it, and it showed up as "shared" on my computer when his laptop is up and running. I tried Appletalk etc. He got it running using IP printing and having the IP address, but he told me it should have just showed up.
I'm new to the Mac so I don't understand this. According to the config page he printed Appletalk is active on the printer its selected on my networking page.
Any help apprciated.

Why doesn't the download popup window do what I tell it to?

In most cases when I download files, I want the popup window to ask me how to handle them - and it does. However, I have a subscription to the NYTimes crossword puzzles. For this type of file only, when I click on a file I want to open it immediately.
The popup window knows how to open these files: it says
You have chosen to open ....
What should Firefox do with this file?
Open with _Across Lite_
Save File
Do this automatically for files like this from now on (This option is checked, but I get the popup window anyway. Does automatically mean something different for you than it does for me?)

The server could be sending the ''Content-Disposition: attachment'' header. Install the InlineDisposition add-on and see if makes a difference.

Why doesn't the microphone work in Notes on my 5s?

Hi, I'm new to iPhone so this may be an easy one that I'm just missing . . .
I've found that the Microphone/dictation feature is really helpful. And it actually works! I've used it in Message.
Tried in Notes but it's greyed out for some reason.
Can anyone fill me in?

How can someone include a "Contact Us" page that DOESN'T HELP ANYONE TO CONTACT THEM?
It's a "Don't contact us, talk to our experienced users instead of the company who made the product you want support for" link. There is no contact with the relevant "us" for it to count.

The "feedback" link is exactly what SHOULD be in the "Contact Us" page. Thank you, jscher2000, for providing the link. I've tried to find it myself multiple times, and while I've found references to its existence, this is the first time I've been able to get an actual LINK to the page.
That includes when I've checked the "Contact Us" option on Mozilla's homepage.
And you're right, James, most open source projects don't have a way to directly contact the creators. Most open source projects also don't have their own highly-active user community like Mozilla do. They don't have the scale of use that Firefox sees. And more importantly, most open source companies don't have a "Contact Us" page that leads you to literally everything EXCEPT ways to contact them.

Why doesn't the customer support menu-driven system offer an "opt-out" option for cases where none of the available options meets the customer's need?

I have called customer support several times to get problems with my service plan corrected. None of the menu-driven options meets my needs, but the system does not offer a way to connect to a live rep. The only way to get to a live rep is to hit the "invalid selection" O key several times. Good customer service would include an "opt-out" choice.

Adobe Reader - FREE - reads PDF files, prints them, fills forms.
Adobe Acrobat - $$ - as Reader, and makes PDFs and edits them, sorta, and does a bunch more.
So if you had Acrobat try and find the license to avoid having to pay again...

Some gestures have been removed in Firefox 4 and later.
You can restore the zoom feature by changing the values of the related prefs on the about:config page.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

I have sort of the exact same problem. Extremely far away from user friendly
I have an second issue as well: When I hook off all-day it comes up with an 8 hour event!
And then if I put in a late start hour it pushes end time to next day due to the 8 hour event suggestion.
All in all this gives a lot of changes just to enter an event.

I changed the about:config to make the rotate gesture move between tabs, and it worked great for well over a year. Now it behaves erratically as described here:

It used to be very controllable to move one tab over, now it is erratic and moves quickly and to unexpected tabs regardless of how slow I do the rotate gesture. This is the main reason I use Firefox over Chrome and I would like to continue to do so unless there is no fix to this.

Just set the browser.gesture.twist.threshold to something around 15-25.
