  • Why do some pages look blurry?

I have noticed that some websites look blurry and also when I am trying to read an assignment in word it looks almost pixelated. What can I do to make it look clearer?

Do they still look blurry on the "best" setting for Retina?
The problem I see is, there are many applications around that were created a decade ago, and the developers have moved on. These are still valuable applications for many people. Are they just always going to look crappy on the Retina MacBook? That sounds pretty undesirable.
The difference with the iPhone is, the Retina was an upgrade, but didn't make existing applications look worse.

  • Team Blog: Why does my page look different in BrowserLab?

Duane O'Brien, engineer on the BrowserLab team has a new blog post on the BrowserLab Team blog that you might find interesting. It covers when/why you might see rendering differences between the BrowserLab browsers and your local browsers. Good info.

  • Why do some pages (Facebook) in Safari 5.1 show up in History when Private Browsing is turned on in Lion??

Why do some pages (like Facebook) show up in my History when Private Browsing is turned on in Lion?

Agreed, going to Firefox is the step in the right privacy direction.
    http://yro.slashdot.org/story/11/09/25/2131205/facebook-cookies-track-users-even -after-logging-out
AdBlock Plus, BetterPrivacy, Ghostery, Click&Clean and yes even NoScript (drag a Temp allow all button to the toolbar)
To deny your computer from accessing Facebook
    In Admin user
    sudo pico /etc/hosts
Arrow down below the material you see there and don't change it
    add
    0.0.0.0 www.facebook.com
    0.0.0.0 www.facebook.net
control x to exit and save.
another easier way (can use in Standard User this way) is to use the free TextWrangler and open file by name:
    /etc/hosts
    and perform the same thing.

  • Why do web pages look slightly blurred on Mac?

I have a Mac Mini and a PC with XP on the same monitor, (using a kvm). Almost every web page I view looks better on the pc then the mac. On the mac, the fonts appear thinker and slightly blurred. the same web page on the pc is much sharper and clearer. Both use Firefox and res is the same on both 1280 x 1024. Even Apple's own site looks better on the pc! I've checked, and the same font's are installed on both. I've connected the Mac directly to the monitor, just in case it was the kvm, but no difference. I've also checked on other Mac's (albeit with larger screens), web pages look clearer on them.
Why does a mac, supposedly renowned for its graphics, not display as well as a PC? Monitor is Belinea 19" flatscreen.

  • Why does my page look funny in IE?

My pages look fine in Safari and Firefox, but when I open them in Internet Explorer, there are these large white rectangular shapes that are semi-transparent at the top of my page. Can any one help figure this out? My site isn't finished by any means but I don't want to continue if it's going to look terrible in IE which is what most people use with pc's

  • Why do some pages have print over other words onscreen

I can't read some pages because some words are overprinted other words onscreen. It is blurry and can't be read.

  • Why do some pages not appear on screen?

My wife is using the latest version of Keynote. Apparently some pages of text are not appearing on screen when she gives presentations in schools. This has happened across several projectors but the presentation runs fine on the computer! I have met problems like this with video codecs but never just basic pages of text. I presume that things like fonts are irrelevant in this context?

Thanks for this. My wife can't remember which version she used to create the presentation. She still has both versions on board but this sometimes creates issues when she is in a classroom. I had suggested that the newer version was now maturing but it sounds like she will still need to keep both versions installed. I wonder if content could be copied and pasted into the newer version to overcome this problem? Once again thanks for your help.

  • Why do some pages load blank?

I allow Safari to restore previous session when it starts.  Sometimes pages will load blank.  I can see the page title at the top of Safari but the URL is blank and the content area is white.
Any idea how to prevent or get the full page to load?

    Reset Safari.
Click Safari in the menu bar.
From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
Uncheck the box next to  " Remove saved names and passwords".
    Click "Reset".
    Empty Caches
    Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
    Turn off Extensions, if any.
    Safari > Preferences > Extensions

  • Why does my site look different in chrome, safari and explorer?

    Hi,
My site looks ok in Firefox but it looks different in  chrome, safari and explorer...
I have already tried to clean the cache and delete cookies, what I have to do?
    Thanks for helping!
    Livia

    Hi Livia
I have checked the file and can see that you have used a slideshow for browser background , the page fill is the hero image where the thumbnails are disabled.
If you remove the slideshow then the issue is resolved as the red bar in top and white bar at bottom comes fine with all browsers.
Please remove the slideshow from page background and use the same image as browser fill which will fix the issue.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

  • Why font in Pages looks bad?

With the same size and same font, why the way the fonts look in Pages compared to Office Word or even TextEdit, looks kinda crappy and not as smooth as Office Word and TextEdit will display?
How to make it look smooth? It actually doesn't that important for printing, but I'm annoyed with the way it looks.

The way fonts are rendered is simply different. The reasons why it is different are not known with certainty. There are some guesses, but they are fairly complicated and technical.
And no, there is no way around it, except to change screen. Some users perceive no problems and other users perceive problems. Partly the difference may be in our brains, how we perceive small pixels, but it is also in the screen you are using.

  • Why is my Page looking like this?

I have essentially the same page uploaded and I have no idea why one is looking like it does and the other is fine. The one that is the DSMS Home is the one I need to look correct. The other one is a test of that page before I made it the homepage of my school!!

    Help!!!!

On my machine it looks horrible (viewing in Firefox). The text is all over the place, an image that used to be on the page and I took it off is still on there. I checked the site on a different computer using IE and it looks good. I'm not sure why only on my machine it looks bad.

  • Why are some pages half size

When I get pages using Bookmarks some of them (e.g. Ebay, Amazon) are full width and others (e.g. Craigslist) are only have width and if I open another, even if it's Ebay or Amazon it also goes half width.
    What have I done wrong?
    Thank You

Check that you aren't opening bookmarks in the sidebar.
Opening in the side bar is the default for bookmarks that are created via a link or button on a website.<br />
You can check the Properties of a bookmark via the right-click context menu in the side bar (Ctrl+B; Cmd+B on Mac).<br />
In the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) you can click the More button in the Details pane at the bottom right.<br />
Make sure that "Load this bookmark in the side bar" is not selected.<br />

  • Why does my page look great in design view and to the left in live view?

I just created a new page using a fluid grid layout and in "design" view it looks great but in "live" view or on a browser preview the wording all goes to the left.  What I am doing wrong?  I also have another question which may relate to the first.  I  have four templates. Do I create a new named .css file for each new template or continue using the same layout.css file for all templates? Since I created a new .css file for every template maybe it is causing confusion.  Thanks in advance.

If this is what you want, rework your HTML so all three images are in the same div and adjust your css to  narrow the scroll down image and on Order jpg, vertically align top, 30px margin.
    <div id="header">
    <div id="pic1">
    <img src="Thumbs/Scroll-Down.jpg" alt="More Pictures">
