Why has my iPad safari changed to full screen

I'm not exactly sure when is happened but it must have been today as I would have noticed it before. I've had my iPad 3 for about 6 months and the entire time I've had it at the top of the screen there is always a black bar with the signal strength, the time and the battery life on it whether you're on the home screen, an app, safari or settings. Just now I've noticed that the bar remains in its place on everything else but when I enter safari the bar disappears and he entire screen is just taken up by the browser. I have no idea how or why this happened or what button I must have accidentally pressed to do that but I'm assuming the iPad didn't do that itself so is there a way to get the bar back?

Safari for iPad deosn't have a user initiated full screen view. Could have been kicked off bya specific web site, I suppose.
Open the Settings app > Safari > Clear History and then Clear Cookies adn Data.

Restore iPad to Factory Default; do not restore from backup. It may be the cause of the problem.

  • Why has my ipad lost connectivity to the AT&T cellular data network after upgrading to iOS 8.1.2?  My iPad is model #MD367LL/A, 32 GB WIFI + Cellular, about 2-1/2 years old.

Why has my ipad lost connectivity to the AT&T cellular data network after upgrading to iOS 8.1.2?  My iPad is model #MD367LL/A, 32 GB WIFI + Cellular, about 2-1/2 years old. It;s been working perfectly up until now.  I have no problem on my home WIFI, or through personal hotspot working through my iPhone 5.
I have worked with AT&T, replaced the SIM card with a new one, and done a backup/restore to factory settings, all with the same result that when I turn Cellular
Data on, with or without Enable LTE, it goes into "searching" mode, or reports "no service".  My iPhone 5 works perfectly on iOS 8.1.2, on Cellular.  I've browsed the blogs and have tried Apple's suggested fix, all to no result.
Oddly enough, every once in a while I do get connected to the network for a short ime (minutes), but it always returns to "searching".
I've filed a report with Apple, along with a request that they contact me, but no results yet.
    Help? (and thank you).

Hello razmee209.  Thank you for your response.  I spent the better part of yesterday working with Apple Support.  They tried their best, to include backing up photos to my HP laptop, backing up the iPad to iCloud, then resetting the iPad in total.  Same problem.  I restored from the cloud to recover my apps, same problem.
AT&T installed a new sim card - same problem.  I spent time with AT&T Support yesterday, too.  In both cases, (Apple and AT&T) the support techs who worked with me were extremely polite, courteous and helpful to the best of their abilities, but I think the problem lies deeper, and nobody at Apple is admitting they have a problem with iOS 8, that I'm aware of.
I didn't have this issue before I upgraded to iOS 8.1.2.
Everything else with the iPad works fine:  WIFI, Personal Hotspot, email, all my apps, etc.
In browsing the web for this issue I see that many other folks have the same problem.  I filed a report with Apple this morning, requesting that they contact me, but no word yet.  I was going to go to iPhone 6, and had been considering the iPad Air 2, but I see reports of this problem with those units as well.
At this point I don't think I'll be spending any more money with Apple, at least not till this issue is resolved.
Thanks again for your response and suggestions.

  • Why has my iPad downloaded over 7000 spam messages into a folder called gmail/all mail?  I have not set up a gmail account on my iPad

Why has my iPad downloaded over 7000 spam messages into a folder called gmail/all mail?  I have not set up a gmail account on my iPad

No you will not have to set up the iPad all over again. Resetting the iPad is like rebooting your computer. You will lose no apps, data, settings .... Nothing at all. I like to use the expression that it's like "clearing out the cobwebs" on the iPad's memory.
The reason I am suggesting this is that there are some other sort of bizarre issues that occur in the mail app and the reset seems to clear up those issues. So I think it is worth a try.
On the other hand, if you have restored the iPad to factory settings, I don't know that it will help. If nothing else works, try going to your web mail using a browser and see if you can't deal with this in there.

  • Why has my ipad mini stopped connecting with my iPhone 4S? I used to use it to download books, or transfer emails to my ipad mini. It was fine 3 days ago, now I get a message saying " cannot join with iPhone" Any help greatly appreciated.

You can try resetting your iPad and iPhone by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

When safari is in full screen mode and I move the mouse to the top of the screen to bring up the menu bar and the bookmark bar, it does nothing.  Is anyone else having this issue?
    Thanks

I just tested that since I hardly ever use full screen mode, this was the first time since I upgraded to Mountain Lion, and it worked fine for me.
Try shutting Safari down and see if that changes anything.
If that doesn't change anything, try shutting down and then rebooting.

  • Safari window to full screen.

Yes, a simple user question. How to get my Safari window to full screen?

Drag window's upper left-hand corner to the screen's upper left-hand corner, click and drag bottom right-hand corner resize triangle, and drag to the screen's lower right-hand corner. Why anyone would want to do that is beyond me, but that's it. AFAIK, there's no command shortcut that does it.

You can achieve this by going into system preferences>general>uncheck "close windows when quitting applications."  The apps will open fullscreen next time, even after a reboot.  One caveat, the window will open in the last session left...
    Hope this helps!
Thank you, this resolved my question as well.

Is that so? So you don't use ANY of the other features of the iPhone? You don't use the internet, apps, play games, make calls, take pictures, or ANYTHING else at all? You just wanted full-screen contact image?
    I don't believe you...

  • Change default full-screen view

    Hi All,
In Aperture 3, the default full-screen view is not to see the "viewer" view, but rather the "browser" view.
Is there a way to change this default? When I change to full-screen mode, it's generally to see the largest view of a picture, which is now a 2-step process.
    thanks,
    nathan

    Ernie,
Most of the time when I'm looking to use full screen mode, I'm in the Browser view. It makes sense now that you've detailed what happens -- Browser mode in non-full-screen opens the browser mode in full-screen. That's the key. I hadn't tried to do what you described - full screen mode from the viewer view.
It sounds like I'll have to adjust my workflow. I like working in browser mode and then going to full screen single-photo. However, it doesn't sound like it's the way the new full-screen mode works. The good thing is that the size of the thumbnails is maintained separately for non-full-screen versus full-screen. I can make the full-screen browser have larger thumbnails than my regular browser.
    thanks,
    nahan

When Safari is in full screen, window slides off screen to the right after a few seconds.  Does not happen if Safari is not full screen.  How do I fix this?

You are probably inadvertently swiping to another full-screen app. Are you using a magic trackpad? Does this happen without you touching anything?
