Why is 3D menu greyed out? Not ram or drivers..
When looking at other people who have a greyed out 3D menu, most all suggestions are either video ram or drivers.. but I have the latest driver and 2 GPUs with 1GB each of ram so I don't think it's any of that. Here are my stats

The FILE Menu was <u>'''''not'''''</u> greyed out in SAFE MODE.
I only had one THEME, the DEFAULT one, which I was using.
I disabled a few ADD-ONS and that solved the problem. They should check them first. I don't have time right now, or I'd do it myself. Later, maybe.

signature drop down menu greyed out. I believe it is because I saved the pdf document after placing a signature. I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9
Do you mean the drop-down list that shows up when you right-click on the signature (in the Signature Panel or signature field)?
I do not think that just saving a PDF with no changes would result in that unless you somehow flattened the PDF.
Can you see the signature in the Signature Panel? Can you expand ([+] at left) the signature? Does the Signature Panel provide info for this signature? Is the signature validated? If "yes" then is the signature status Valid?
It could be that when you saved the file you somehow flattened the signature, so that now you have only signature appearance in the PDF but not a real signature field which contains all signature properties. If the Signature Panel does not contain your signature (enpty if your signature was the only one) then this is the most likely cause. -

Has anyone else got this working with OSX 10.7.4 Lion with Acrobat X ?- Its a consistent problem for me on both my MacBookPro & IMac computersExactly, that feature was so valuable for me in previous versions. I am not sure why someone who sells something would eliminate a feature that customers use. What person made that call? They are probably working at Microsoft now making those "great products" (though I do like Excel, but only because they haven't changed it, esentially, for years...of course, how much can you really change a calculator?).

There are some hardware requirements for the new software capabilities. To be able to use the 3D features in Photoshop, it is required that you have a video card that is atleast 512mb. To check what kind of video card capability you have, goto Help --> System Info. From there, you should see 'Video Card Memory: __MB'. If your memory card is only 256mb, it will not be able to handle the 3D features.

Why is my photostream menu greyed out
I just installed iphoto 11 9.4.3 version to use the share (with others) function, which I never used before.
When in iPhoto, the SHARE - > PhotoStream menu is greyed out.

that is weird! Even with PhotoStream disabled in the "System Preferences > iCloud" and in "iPhoto Preferences > Photo Stream" iPhoto will show the PhotoStream in the "Share" menu.
The only way I can get iPhoto to dim the PhotoStream "Share" option in the menu is by selecting an item in the Source list that is empty. Do you see something different?
That is why I suggested to check the selected library item. See: Photostream disabled everywhere, but the "Share" menu does show it.

All of a sudden I tunes will not recognise either my I phone or I pad even thought they are connect to my pc.In the diagnostics section it says that there are no devices connected.What has happened? When I go to I tunes and try to press the sync button it is greyed out.

About a year ago my get and put commands greyed out and stopped working. I called my webhost and they were no help, they did say that they moved my site to a new (linux) server about the same time. I have applied all the correct settings on my configure server window and when I hit test it connects successfully.
I have been posting over the last year using Firefox FTP but am making quite a few changes and it's making me crazy going back and forth. Anyone have any ideas?Closing this question out, the MacBook reverted to normal behavior sometime since I posted the problem and this post. No clue why.

Installed TWAIN devices: NONEOK. Photoshop is at using your GPU. I'm not over flash at reading a lot of the System Info, but I think you have alternative graphics on that system. Do you know if you can switch graphics? Does your monitor lead plug into the mainboard, or a PCIe card? Bottom line is you need 512Kb of video RAM.

Regards switchable graphics, if you are using a PCIe card, you might be able to disable the onboard graphics in BIOS, but my gut feeling is that as Preferences is seeing your GPU OK, the problem might be insufficient video RAM. Have a good read through the FAQ linked above. -
Why "TDM DSP Usage" greyed out?
I'm using Logic Pro 7.1.0 on a G5 running OSX 10.4.2 with an HD3 system.
I want to check my TDM DSP usage but it's "greyed out" in the Audio menu, non functional.. anybody know why?

Ed AYes it is a Tiger/LP7 issue. I guess a was a little vauge..I meant: this is what's holding me back from upgrading my main rig to OS X 10.4.2
I've not seen LAP 6.4.3 on a Tiger/TDM config yet, might be an issue there too..
Truth is, LAP 6.4.3(native) is not great on my PB that's running 10.4.2.

I have Adobe CS4 Extended, and I've been trying to use the 3d features ever since I watched John Nack demo it over on pixel perfect. But for me, the entire 3d menu is greyed out. I have enable GPU acceleration, but in order for it to work, I had to download the patch to allow older GPU's. My current graphics card is an Nvidia 8400GS. Nothing special, but it does all of the other GPU accelerated stuff such as rotation and zooming fine, so I'm puzzled as to why 3d wont work.
Any help would me much appreciated
-NikYeah, I get this. I should get more RAM. I should get a new PC. RAM is cheap at the moment, but my computer is pretty old and I don't really see the point in spending money on SDRAM (which is the only thing my pc can use) when when I eventually upgrade it'll be unusable.
But my question still hasn't really been answered. Is there any concrete evidence that suggests that the 3d menu is for some reason disabled if you don't have much RAM installed? Premiere for example wants 1GB of memory. I only have 512MB, and it runs slow as hell, but I can still use it and all its features - I just have to come back in half an hour if I want to do something computationally intensive. I know that's more related to my CPU, but can you see what I'm saying? I could get more RAM, but why bother when I should - as far as anyone can tell - be able to do these things.
