Why is Adobe Captivate Chat support closed?

It's 11:05 Am on Monday.  Here's what the Chat link says, Open "Sunday 6pm—Friday 7pm PT Chat is currently closed".  Time to wake up Adobe!

Apple have dropped support for pre-3GS because to pull of the features and performance in iOS 4.3 they had to develop just for the ARM7 chip, and not for the ARM6. They probably have a good sense of the number of people that have the older devices, and think it's ok to not update the software on those devices.
The same may be true for Adobe.
I am trying to find out how to make AIR 2.6 and AIR 2.0 live together in Flash CS5. If I work it out I'll let you know.

  • PPro Chat Support Closed?

    Just curious what the hours of chat support are?  Or are we limited to how much chat support we get with our subscription?  I know it says Monday - Friday, 5am - 7pm PT.  However I am not able to access chat support today because it says chat is currently closed.  I wasn't able to access chat yesterday either for the same reason.  Shouldn't they be open now?  Tuesday 10:25am Central?  Am I missing something?  Thanks.

    I do not know if this has any connection but last night they had a login problem where the could not recognize user email addresses, it is OK now but it might be related.  Try again later.

  • Why Does Adobe Captivate 8 Web Object Not Get Published Correctly

    I am trying to insert a YouTube video in Adobe Captivate and publish it. While it previews fine, when i publish it as an SWF, i see just a blank frame.
    Can you help out here? Also, if I want to publish it as an PDF, will the video play there too?

    Hi Akshay,
    I am assuming the method you are using now is embedding Youtube videos into your Web object. My suggestion is it will be much easier if you use the Youtube Learning Interaction instead of a Web object to insert Youtube videos to your Captivate project.
    This can be found in the Interactions Toolbar -> Learning Interactions -> Youtube
    Also, as Sreekanth mentioned, please test it on a web server, or SCORM cloud.
    Youtube interaction will work when exported to PDF as well.

    Hi there each time i try to close an open captivate document
    it crash ... if i open captivate without a project and close it no
    issue but if i open any dosument and try to close the captivate it
    crash i press close and then i get access violation ........
    i check on adobe for update.... nothing ....
    any idea ?

  • Why does Adobe's customer support suck!

    Adobe seems to be playing a shell game of hide the nut. I signed up for the $9.99 photographers creative cloud-LR,PS and they billed my CC for $82.30. Some how I got switched to the "full suite." But now I don't want to deal with them at all because of the double talk from the CS people. The first CS person told me I would get a refund in 4-7 days and he would delete my CC information. He did not ( I logged into my account an the info was still there) so I call second time and was told I could not get a refund. The first CS person asked me for my CC info again so he could make a refund. I asked for a supervisor and he said the refund would be made but could not let me talk to someone in the billing dept. The language barrier was difficult, to say the lest, and I expect CC charges on my credit card to show up somewhere in Nigeria.
    How does a company with such good products build a web site that needs an instruction manual to navigate and have the content designed by a 12 year old (unless they are trying to hide info). If Adobe listed the amount they were going to bill my card on my account ( I assumed $9.99) I would have seen the glitch.
    I smell lots of greed. They seem to have the same marketing plan as satellite and cable TV provides.

  • Why did Adobe stop the support in Air for iOS?

    Today Adobe said that he stop with the developing for iOS,
    It`s mean that he will NOT update the AIR for iOS for newer iOS (like iOS 5).
    I paid many money for a Flash`s license and AppStore`s member!
    What sould I do now?

    What was talked about today is the development of the Flash Player for mobile browsers, that will end after the next version is released. iOS is not affected by that, because Flash didn't work in Safari on iOS anyway.
    Adobe did talk about how they were going to do more with AIR mobile apps, so if anything today's announcements is good news for AIR for iOS.

  • Why are videos not playing in Adobe Captivate 6?

    We are having issues with videos (F4v or .mp4) playing in Captivate 6 produced projects? We've set them as progressive downloads like we did in CP5 or 5.5 that still work corectly, but now they do not. Has anyone else had this issue? It is the biggest one of a few i've found in captivate 6 so far.

    Could you please check the exact version of Adobe Captivate installed on your computer (Go to Help > About Adobe Captivate) ?
    Please make sure that it should be updated to 8.0.1.242 .
    You can also try resetting the preferences of Adobe Captivate by renaming the Captivate 8.0 folder at C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Adobe to Captivate 8.0old .
    Note :- Adobe Captivate must be closed while renaming the folder.

    Hi, i am having an issue with a basic motion scroll effect.
    I already watched and read every tutorial out there regarding this topic and even tried the adobe chat support, but the guy on the other end of the line disconnected me…, probably he didn't understand what i wanted from him because english is not my native language, so a will try to be very, very clear about this one..
    please note, that i am new to muse, this is my first project ever.
    my idea is as following:
    when the customer comes to our companies site, he just sees our logo on a white Background. the logo consists of, say, four elements. when the customer scrolls down, the logo starts to disassamble: first the first part of the logo flies out the left side of the site, then the second part of the logo vanishes down, then the third part of the logo flies to the right, then the fourth part of the logo flies to the top and out of the customers view. given what i have seen, it is possible to do that….
    so…..
    now i have the four parts of my logo imported as png files into muse and assembled them in design view to build our companies logo. I select every one of the four parts and go into the scroll effects tab left beside the layers tab. first i enter the same values for every one of the four parts: initial motion: 0x and 0x again for the left and right motion; key position ( t-handle) : 0px; final motion: 0x and 0x again for the left and right value.
    now i hit "preview".: the logo is "pinned" at the correct position, i can scroll but the logo stays where it is. so far so good….
    now i select all the four elements again and go to the scroll effecs tab. at "final motion", i click the down arrows and enter 1x. I hit Preview…
    when i am scrolling down the WHOLE logo goes down…. so far so good.
    NOW i want the first part of the logo to go down, THEN the second part to go left, THEN the third part to go up, THEN the fourth part to go right.
    so i select ONLY the first part, go to the scroll motion tab, at "final motion" i click the left arrows, then i enter 1x.( the up-down value, i set to 0 again).. i hit Preview…
    the first part of the logo goes left as soon as i start scrolling, the other three parts still go down at the same time…
    NOW i want the second part of the logo to start moving, when the first part has left the scene, not at the same time as the first part.
    SO I SELECT THE SECOND PART AND DRAG ITS T-HANDLE (KEY POSITION) DOWN TO, LETS SAY, 200PX. SO IT STARTS MOVING ONLY AFTER THE CUSTOMER HAS REACHED THAT POINT, RIGHT?
    BUT WHEN I PREVIEW THAT ****, THE LOGO IS NOT TOGETHER ANYMORE, THE SECOND PART IS FLOATING ANYWHERE ELSE BUT WHERE IT SHOULD BE…..WTFF????
    short: when i move the t handle, the initial position of the object changes. thats what i said to the adobe employee, but he said, that thats the expected behavior….
    but if thats so, how can i have my four parts correctly together, so they form my logo, but with different t handles, so that they all start to move at different times??
    Pleeease help me, i am dying of frustration here…..:( that behavior cant be right, right?

    But i really wonder how you did that. did you always switch between design view and preview view, then change the key position for 2px then switch back, to align the four letters? because i imagine that can get really frustrating, if you have a logo consisting of 58 parts instead of 4!:)

  • Infuriating 'Adobe InDesign CC 2014 has stopped working error' has lost me a day. Just got dumped by chat support...

    I've taken a few deep breaths before writing this to try and avoid a hugely frustrated rant.
    To summarise; since early this morning my previously healthy version of InDesign CC 2014 has been unable to open, crashing at the 'Executing startup services...' stage with the error message 'Adobe InDesign CC 2014 has stopped working'. I worked on it all day yesterday and use it extensively every day more or less, this problem came out of nowhere overnight. I didn't do any kind of system update in the interim period. I'm using a HP Envy dv7 Notebook PC running Windows 8.
    I tried as much as I could based on my own very limited knowledge and some forum searching. I re-installed the software. Did that again using the Adobe CC cleaner .exe file in between un-install and re-install. I uninstalled older versions of the software (which all worked fine - as does the rest of the Creative Suite software I have installed. I deleted extensions. None of this helped.
    I then went looking for Adobe support and got a guy via Adobe's chat controlling my PC from afar and trying some much deeper technical stuff. After two hours he said that it was an OS issue, sorry... after a bit of dismayed pleading he said OK, I'll try one more thing and made me a new user with administration power, told me to login in to that account and try again. I did, it worked! But it's still broken on my main account and he disconnected in the few minutes I was gone and I now seem to be frozen out of chat help. HELP!
    What does this mean? All CS/CC software seems to be working fine on my normal account apart from InDesign CC 2014. I have a huge file, now very close to being overdue, which I was working on in 2014 CC and can't be opened by older versions. The software works on this other account - so I guess I can work there short term. But how do I get it fixed on my main account?
    Hopefully someone out there has the answer?

    First, see Replace Your Preferences and do it for the original account.
    If that fails to solve the problem, rename the two Adobe folders that contain the prefs in the user profile for that account and copy the folders from the new account where it works. You want to be sure you copy the folders, rather than merge the contents, so you must rename the old folders first.

  • Why is the download "Not applicable" for my online purchase of Adobe Captivate 8 Student and Teacher Edition for Mac?

    I purchased “Adobe Captivate 8 Student and Teacher Edition” for Mac on 7/31/14 and it is now 12/17/14 (only 5 months later) but it is showing as “Not applicable” when I go to download (maybe re-download) the program. I understood that I would be able to use the application on 2 computers, one at home and one at work. I think I’ve downloaded the program at home one time but have yet to install and activate it. I now have a new computer at work that can support that program and want to install the program on my office computer, but cannot download it again. Please advise.

    It seems like that you have purchased a subscription for Captivate 8. In subscription you do not require any serial number. Subscriptions are activated on the basis of your Adobe Id. When user will install Captivate he has to sign in with the same Adobe Id under which they bought subscription. It will get activated after successful sign in during the installation.
    As far as the installer is concern there is no difference in the trial version installer or purchased version installer. The installer is same for trial and purchased copy. All user needs to do is sign in during the installation if it is a subscription or use his serial number if it is a perpetual license or volume license.
    You may download the trial version from the link mentioned above and then use your Adobe Id to activate the subscription.
