Why is fire fox 8.01 blocking my yahoo emails?

please read all of this message and do not scan it ok i down loaded fire fox 8.0.1 and now i can not read any emails from people i know, i have tried every thing in help and nothing changed. i had to go back to fire fox 3.6.24 in order to get my messages. if you have any new ideas except ones already tried ok. i believe that only fire fox makers and yahoo can fix this ongoing problem, but the way things are done here, it will never get fix, because of no way to directly talk to mozilla. when they finally say no more for fire fox 3.6.24 then i will be finished. your guesses are incorrect is incorrect. the problem is with fire fox 8.01

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Profile Folder
Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
* Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.<br />
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).

• Avast free antivirus, is blocking some yahoo email synchronization in OSX Mavericks 10.9.1

avast free antivirus current version 8.0 (40527), is blocking some yahoo email synchronization in OSX Mavericks 10.9.1. I am working with the current Mavericks Mail version 7.1 (1827)
After disabling the avast antivirus, almost all my yahoo emails (except one) had being syncronized.

You can disable the Mail shield in Avast to prevent this from happening but it will mean Avast no longer keeps an eye on your email, at all. Your best bet is to contact Avast support about this and see what they have to say. You can call them, email them or post on their forum where other Avast users can help out: http://www.avast.com/en-us/support

• Why does Fire Fox 4.9 Beta not work after install, I download, install all is fine, Fire Fox does not respond

Fire Fox 4.9 Beta does not respond after install, I am running 3.6.13 at the moment

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

• Why can I not print web pages or Yahoo Email with version 4

After uploading Firefox 4.0 several months ago, I am not able to print my Yahoo Email or other web pages.
I can print from IE

Jon,
Unfortunately, Rave's response is quite incorrect on two major points.
The Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver instance was indeed part of the Macintosh version of Acrobat Pro until a few years ago.
However, it was NOT Adobe that killed the feature. Apple did! In one of the MacOS updates, Apple fully removed the capability that Adobe had to support this virtual printer. There was nothing that Adobe could do about this, regrettably. Adobe didn't cripple anything. Complain to Apple!
However, Adobe does provide a replacement for it that will yield similar results, but it is not available in Acrobat or Adobe Reader!!! In most applications' print dialogs (such as Word) - which printer you select is irrelevant, click on the PDF button and select the Save as Adobe PDF option. This will save your document as a PDF file with Adobe technology. But again, this is not available from with Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
However, you should note that the process that you previously followed and you would like to continue to use is commonly referred to as “refrying a PDF” and is strongly discouraged even where it continues to work under Windows. Why? The print function of Adobe applications including Acrobat and Reader is optimized for PostScript for printing, not for creation of PDF. Resultant PDF files have lost any transparency (it has been flattened) and all color management has been lost.
What you are really trying to do is to create a pre-imposed PDF file from an existing PDF file. Going through PostScript was and still is a very bad idea.
There are some third party plug-ins to Acrobat, such as Quite Imposing (Quite Software, <http://www.quite.com>) and PDF Snake (<http://www.pdfsnake.com>) as well as some “free” (you get what you pay for) solutions you can look up on the web that can do PDF imposition without ruining your PDF via PostScript.
Hopefully this can assist you.

• Why is fire fox blocking every web site i go to and saying it is not trusted? Since when did cnn and google become untrusted? What moron wouldnt trust cnn?.

See question.

We have seen issues reported caused by Avast and the Avast! Online Security extension that shows in the System Details List.
Check out why the site is untrusted (click "Technical Details to expand that section) and if this is caused by a missing intermediate certificate then see if you can install this intermediate certificate from another source.
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
*Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
*Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer of the certificate.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.
If "I Understand the Risks" is missing then this page may be opened in an (i)frame and in that case try the right-click context menu and use "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab".
Note that some firewalls monitor (secure) connections and that programs like Sendori or Fiddler (FiddlerRoot) can intercept connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.

• Why can't I print pictures sent through yahoo email.

I have received pictures of family members through yahoo email but can't print them out. When I try, It it shows as symbles that are un recognizable. I would love to know how to get my pictures to print. When I locate my picture on the computer, It shows as a firefox logo and won't open up as the picture I saved.

There have been many reports of problems with photos in texts/iMessages lately on this board and I'm wondering if this is related. Some people are unable to send and some are unable to receive. I don't know of a fix or what the problem is, but it just may be a matter of waiting until the problem is fixed on the other end. Sorry...

• Why is there a spider web on my Yahoo email drafts and how do I make it go away?

locking as a duplicate - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/784172
I simply type an email in my sbcglobal.net on yahoo account. Then I save it to Drafts. Then I return to edit or add text, and something strange happens: All the text is laid out exactly as I had written it, but a sprinkling of tiny squares and arrows appears on top of the text. It reminds me of a spider web. I clicked on a few of these symbols. Some would completely delte the document. Others would move the borders to the left or right. I want to avoid seeing this in the future and how do I get rid of it?

Try using CCleaner: http://www.piriform.com/ (:
And good luck with that girlfriend vs. X thingey!

• CSS....Format Tags Not Working Properly IN Fire Fox

Hi Folks,
Setting up a External style sheet.... the h tags (h5 and 6)
in this case are not letting the text align to top of the table in
fire fox.
When I preview in FF the text is one return down from the top
and in IE it is at the top.
When I take the Htags off and preview in Fire Fox they are in
the right place.
I've tried aligning in everyway possible, with css and in the
properties panel. Why is fire fox having an issue with the tags.
Won't align correctly......
Thanks so much

Can you try giving a custom format expression as below
=IIF(Val(Fields!FieldName.Value)<0,"(#,##0,,)", "#,##0,,")

• When will fire fox bu back up and running i am at a loss without it

why is fire fox down and how long until it is back up and running

OK, thank for the update. The next step is to setup the AirPort Express to extend the signal from the AirPort Extreme using Ethernet
If the Express is powered up, power it off for a full minute
Hold in the reset button first, and keep holding it in for an additional 8-10 seconds while you simultaneously power up the Express. This is tricky...you almost need 3 hands to do this.
Release the reset button after the hold period and allow a full minute for the Express to restart to a slow, blinking amber light
I assume that you have already tested the Ethernet cable to verify that it is working correctly
Connect the Ethernet cable to the WAN "O" port on the AirPort Express
Open AirPort Utility on your Mac
Select the AirPort Express and click Manual Setup
Click the Base Station tab below the row of icons
Type in a name that you want to call the AirPort Express
Type in a device password for the Express
Verify the password
Set time automatically and choose your Time Zone
No other boxes need to be adjusted
Click the Wireless tab
Wireless Mode = Create a wireless network
Wireless Network Name = Exact same name as the AirPort Extreme network
Radio Mode = Automatic
Radio Channel = Automatic
Wireless Security = WPA2 or the same setting as the AirPort Extreme
Wireless Password = Same password as the AirPort Extreme network
Verify Password
Click the Internet icon
Click the Internet Connection tab
Change the setting for Connection Sharing to Off (Bridge Mode)
Click Update at the lower right of the window
Wait a full minute for the Express to restart
You are done

Firefox add-ons take some memory. This amount varies depending on the add-on.
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
* On Windows you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by quitting Firefox and then going to your Terminal and running: firefox -safe-mode (you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
* Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshooting extensions and themes article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
Does this decrease the memory usage? Please report back soon.
