Why is it that every udate of my iPhone software do I get the error message on my laptop: AppleSyncNotifier.exe - Entry Point Not Found The procedure enrty point xmlTextReaderConstName could not be located in the dynamic link library libxml2.dll

Each time I update the software on my iPhone4 I get the following error message on my lap top: AppleSyncNotifier.exe - Entry Point Not Found The procedure enrty point xmlTextReaderConstName could not be located in the dynamic link library libxml2.dll
I go on line to find a solution, but it must be a common problem, why has apple not corrected yet?

This is the fix I got from discussions and it worked for me.  It is copied below.  I just did the manual fix which I have underlined. Good luck! Regards, Belle.
This can occur because libmxl2.dll is not in your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support folder.
There have been some issues with this and other dlls not being in the right place (or not being everywhere they should be) since the 10.3.1.55 iTunes update.
However, I note that the 10.4 iTunes update is now out - surprisingly quickly - so try installing that, rebooting, and see if your issue is solved.
If it isn't, though, here's the manual fix:-
With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.
Copy the libmxl2.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.
Reboot and see if all is well.
I actually had the issue with SQLite3.dll, and the above fix worked for me (I found it in an April 2010 posting!).
I passed on the fix as above for the similar issue with libmxl2.dll to someone who had exactly your problem, and he reported that it fixed it for him.

  • When I start my computer the following error: AppleSyncNotifier.exe Entry Point Not Found Procedure entry point xmlTextReaderName could not be located in the dynamic link library libxml2.dll

After updating to iTunes version 10.5, every time I start the computer the following error message appears: AppleSyncNotifier.exe - Entry Point Not Found. Procedure entry point xmlTextReaderName could not be located in the dynamic link library libxml2.dll? Please help

    Thank you Allan123.
I have used iTunes 10.5.1 for a while without any problem but the other day I installed an application that wanted to restart my computer and iTunes did probably not shut down properly which probably caused the problems. I had to search for libxml2.dll though. Two other programs on my PC used a with the same name but I copied the one from the an Apple folder of course and pasted it where u suggested and after that everything was fine. I have no idea why this problem really occured without any real reason. But thanks for the solution!

  • "The procedure entry point xmlTextReaderName could not be located in the dynamic link library libxml2.dll" fix?

I have been unable to access the iTunes store for about 3 months and every time I turn on my computer it gives me an error that says "The procedure entry point xmlTextReaderName could not be located in the dynamic link library libxml2.dll" I have tried to find the libxml2.dll file in the Mobile Device Support folder, as suggested by other discussions, but I don't even see an Apple or an Apple Application Support folder when I search my C drive. What can I do to fix this?

There are 2 places that the Apple Application Support folder might be located, depending on the type of operating system you have - 32 bit or 64 bit. See below
Now it is also possible that this folder is hidden, which is a default setting in Windows. The way to reveal it is to go to your C:\Program Files folder in Windows Explorer, left click on Tools at the top of Window and select 'Folder Options'.
Now another Window should open that has 3 headings - General, View, and Search. Select 'View' and scroll down to where it is written 'Hidden Files and Folders', and make sure that SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS is ticked. I'm assuming you have administrator rights. This should now reveal the folders you might not have been finding before. Then follow the instructions below.
There is also another possibility which I have answered fully in this post
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/16337366#16337366
I believe that these should get you sorted. Then follow instructions below.
With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.
Copy the libxml2.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.
Restart the programme all should be well

    4. Restart the programme, it should not display that message, it should be clear.
Good Luck - Let me know how you do.

Turning on my computer I get an error message saying that the procedure entry point xmlTextReaderName could not be located in the dynamic link library libxml2.dll?  What do I need to do?

Hi Hans - I'll do my best
First I assume you are logged in as adminstrator on the computer you are using. You mention only seeing Mojo Pac in your Program Files, but there would be far more programs listed there. There are several ways you can find your Apple Application Support file folder.
For Windows XP - How to Search for a File or Folder
To search for a file or folder:
Click Start, and then click Search.
In the Search Companion dialog box, click All files and folders.
Type part or all of the name of the file or folder, or type a word or phrase that is in the file.
So in your case it would be Apple Application Support.
If it doesn't show, you will need to make sure that you have enabled the search for hidden files or folders.
To search for hidden or system files in Windows XP:
Click Start, click Search, click All files and folders, and then click More advanced options.
Click to select the Search system folders and Search hidden files and folders check boxes.
Then search again for the Apple Application Support folder.
I'm assuming that you will locate it. Once you have done so - click on it to open it in Windows Explorer.
Then you should locate libxml2.dll - right click on it and select (left click) Copy
On the left side of the window, under Apple Application Support folder, you should see Mobile Device Support - Right Click on it - Select (Left Click) on Paste.
    Start your iTunes programme.
Good Luck and let me know how you get on.

  • AppleSyncNotifier.exe - Entry Point Not Found: The procedure entry point xmlTextReaderConstName could not be located in the dynamic link library libxml2.dll

Ever since I recently upgrading Itunes, I cannot access the Itunes store, my phone will not sync to my laptop, and this pops up everytime I restart my computer: "AppleSyncNotifier.exe - Entry Point Not Found: The procedure entry point xmlTextReaderConstName could not be located in the dynamic link library libxml2.dll" I have tried several things without success. Can someone PLEASE tell me what else I can try. Thanks!

Hi Janice - glad to hear you got one of your problems sorted
I understand that your phone doesn't sync automatically when you connect it to your PC with iTunes running. First question is do you see that your phone is connected in iTunes when you plug it in? It should show on the left side of the page about halfway. Usually if you haven't already started iTunes, when you connect your phone to the PC it will open autoamtically and you will see the phone is connected.
If it doesn't show as connected then I refer you to this page
I can tell you that my phone doesn't sync automatically because I didn't want it to, I've purposefully set it on iTunes to sync manually. I do it by left clicking on where my phone shows there and in the page that comes up I click Sync. If you want it to operate automatically then you need to set it to do so. You have that option by clicking on EDIT at the top left of itunes - then PREFERENCES - DEVICES and uncheck 'prevent devices from syncing automatically'. There may also be something to click on the phone page to sync automatically.
For the 'conflict' issue I refer you to this discussion where others have already offered advice.
Good luck with it Janice, and again, let me know how you get on.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair".
    Does iTunes launch properly now?
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post:
