Why is my apple id not showing when I try to download something?

whenever I try to download something to my iPad, it shows up with a different apple id and password. Granted, the ids are in the same house, but there are two different devices with different apple ids. the ipod has one and my ipad has the same apple id and password, which is not mine. is there any way to fix this other than to restore it to the last iOS?

BTW, don't know if this helps, but it happened only after updating to iOS6

I take it that this is on an Ipad. I had just about the same problem, you could reset your password, but then again, you must apply the new password in the ITune's Store. Tap settings, "about" to check your firmware. Also to set the new password for the Store, tap Settings, Store, then tap Apple ID: a small pop up will show, here tap View Apple ID and input your new password.

How are you trying to charge it, via a computer or the wall plug ? If a computer, then a lot of computers (especially older ones) generally do not provide enough power to their USB ports to charge the iPad at a sufficient rate - it may still be charging slowly, and should be a bit quicker if the iPad's screen is off (if you leave it for a while and then disconnect it from your computer you may find that it's battery percentage has gone up). The wall charger is usually the most efficient way to charge the iPad.
If the wall charger then have you tried a reset to see if it charges after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If that doesn't work then have you tried a different charger and/or cable ? Do you know anybody else with an iPad so that you can try their charger and cable and they can try yours ?

On your iPhone go to Settings > Store.
Select the Apple ID at the bottom.
Select Sign Out at the menu selection provided.
Follow this by signing in with your new Apple ID/iTunes store account.
All apps - all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account that was used to download the apps. In order to install an app update for the apps downloaded with your previous Apple ID/iTunes account, you will need to use that account and password.

If you are running Tiger, you don't have time machine.
You need to get something like SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner (sorry, I don't have a handy link for CCC but you can Google it to get their site) to make a clone of your drive on the external and then do incremental backups. The free versions do a lot and you can upgrade to the full-service versions for small change if you need more. The one time I used SuperDuper! for cloning a volume it worked just fine.
(My backup application is the last PPC capable version of Retrospect, which does a credible job, or has over the past ten-twelve years.)

It should be Noted that anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID.

The Apple ID that you see bought the app. It is the only Apple ID that can update the licensed copy on your Mac as that ID is encoded into the copy. Delete the app and buy it with your own account.
