Why is the full charge capacity of my MBPR 13 Mid-2014 only 6175?

I have the same model MacBook Pro as you. When our batteries were new, they had a full charge capacity of 5770 mA·h; but the batteries’ full charge capacities decrease over time. Since your battery currently has a full charge capacity of 4577 mA·h, it’s at 79.3% of its original capacity. Because it’s below 80% of its original capacity, Apple would consider it “consumed”, and would recommend that it be replaced. However, if you still find it perfectly usable in spite of its reduced runtime, then it’d be fine to keep using it.

Full charge capacity amount on the MBP battery?
Hi all,
My MBP is only 4 months old. When I checked the batter's "Full Charge Capacity", it said 5550 mAh, which was even higher than the defult (5500mAh).
I just bought a new battery from Apple for my MBP the other day. The first day I got it, I followed the instruction to calibrate it. Then I checked its full charge capacity. It says "5450" mAh only. How is that? Why is it less the 5500?? Does that mean it has problem? I used this new batter for almost a week, it never goes to 5500 mAh....
Anyone has idea about this issue?
ThanksUPDATE - I have found that by reducing the intensity of the display, even by a quarter, will add more than a hour to the life of the battery following a full charge. Reducing the intensity to just one quarter will give a battery life of between 4 and 4.5 hours. Putting the drive to sleep when not required extends the life to over 5 hours.
These figures are slightly better than the battery that was replaced under warranty. This suggests that their capacities are similar. I originally thought the old battery had a shorted cell, or cells, causing the battery to overheat and have a reduced capacity. I now believe I was wrong.
The Cycle Count of the new battery has reached 20 and the Full Charge Capacity 'appears' to be gradually reducing with each charge. This seems incorrect to me and I am now wondering if some kind of performance compromise has been implemented to reduce the frequency of battery failures.
I would be interested in hearing from any other forum members who has noticed anything different about the performance of the newer batteries?
I previously reported that the new battery runs cooler than the original. I have been monitoring its temperature during charging and not charging and its temperature is still gradually dropping and I am no longer suffering the 'hot lap' syndrome which I assume was because the original battery was faulty.
I imagine that the new battery requires a settling-in period so maybe the temperature will eventually stabilize. Is the charging cycle controlled by a process that can be updated? REGARDS Phil. -
Does allowing the Battery to drain to 0% depletes full charge capacity?
I bought a Macbook pro 17-in intel core 2 duo 2.4Ghz from the Phiippines on July 10, 2007 and brought it to Ireland couple of days after. Later, I upgraded to leopard 10.5.2 with 4 Gig memory. Auto updates have been installed since its first use. The only problem I encountered (except for some Safari quitting unexpedtedly) was in the battery.

- I sometimes leave the wall charger plugged for several hours after green light shows.
- I use my MBP for an average of 12 - 14 hours a day. At times I dont shut it down and just allow it to go to sleep mode.
- Calibrated about 10 times.

I brought my MBP for check up here in Dublin, Ireland and indeed the problem was the battery. They replaced my battery with a new one without cost.

Notice the sudden drop of full charge capacity in cycle 6? How do I recover the lost charge capacity? Does letting the battery drain to 0% depletes its full charge capacity?The short answer is that yes, completely draining the battery has a slight negative impact on full charge capacity. The full charge capacity does fluctuate a bit over time, but the general trend is downward no matter what you do - there's a continuous chemical reaction occurring in the battery, with a finite life.
However, I note that you state +I wait for 5% remaining charge before I plug the charger+; if you are doing this because that is what you need to do, i.e. you do most of your work away from a power source, fine. But, if you are doing that because you believe that's best for your battery, that is incorrect. The 'old' NiCd batteries performed best with full discharge and full charge. The 'newer' Li-based batteries do not have this requirement, and in fact perform better over time when used frequently but 'lightly', avoiding full discharges (except for the occasional battery calibration, which allows the OS to more accurately determine the time to charge and discharge).

Can someone please tell me what is the default Full Charge Capacity (mAh) of MBPr 13" battery when it's new?
Recently I noticed that on my device it shows only 6069 mAh, though my device is barely a year old and has only 41 charge cycles (of 1000).
Why would battery degrade so quick?!First, the amount of remaining charge is a dynamic figure that changes with the changes demands on the battery. Closing the lid means less demand, so the battery will last longer. Lid open means higher demand and less life of the battery.
The number cited in reviews is a nominal figure and can vary from battery to battery. You should fully charge your battery to make an comparisons. A battery's full charge capacity declines as the battery gets older and is used more. It will never be the same after the day it's take out of the box.

Cycle count verses full charge capacity.
My battery on my mackbook says to service battery. Now I know the cycle count is high but it seems to me that the full charge capacity is only about 50%. The macbook is about 2 years old but I would have thought I could have gone longer with the battery since the charge capacity is still pretty good. So, which is better to go off of, cycle count or full charge capacity, and from looking at the specs below does it appear as though I will need to buy a new battery? Thanks..

What should the full charge capacity on the Air be?
This is normal. You will see some fluctuation around the number, it's nothing to be worried about. Mine has fluctuated between ~5100 and ~4900 with it most of the time around 4980.

I'm a noob when it comes to this stuff. But I got my MBP a few days ago and didn't do any research on maximizing battery capacity. Now it's already at 11 cycles. I can't seem to find the normal full charge capacity for my MBP, but is 6837 within Apple's specs? And furthermore, do can people tell the % of the full charge capacity just by looking at the icon on the top right? Because I see some people saying their battery charges up to 102% or 98%...and I can only find "Full Charge Capacity," under the power section. And one more question, since I'm supposed to leave my MBP plugged into an AC power source whenever available, does that include night time, when I'm asleep and my MBP is off? These might be dumb questions... but I'm asking them anyways. Want to keep this baby with me as long as I can :3

Yes. I keep mine plugged in whever a power outlet is available, at night when im asleep even if it is off. But I do let it run very low on battery power a few times a month to keep the battery juices flowing. -

The unit was purchased on Saturday and right out the box it had an FCC of 5618. After the first full cycle (condition) the FCC read 5542 and and now it's gone down even more. When I was at the Apple store they had 4, 13" MBP demo units and they were all scattered between 5300-5700 with all less than 5 cycles.
I think your battery is fine, from what you've said. I also wouldn't read too much into the 3rd party battery health monitoring tools, from experience what they judge as "95% of full charge capacity" is typically not entirely accurate. -

Voltage (mV): 11278The tech specs ( http://support.apple.com/kb/SP541 ) for a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2009) says you have a "60-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery". The battery voltage is approx. 12 volts so 60/12=5Ah or 5000mAh would be the rated capacity of your battery. Everything appears fine.

since two weeks I have a new MBP 15", 3Ghz with 500GB HDD and 4GB RAM.
I compare the "Full charge capacity" with my old MBP.
The old one has 5347 with a three months old battery and the new MBP has only 6790. Currently I can work with it between 3 and 4 hours.
So my questions is: *What is your "Full charge capacity"?*
And yes I have reseted the SMC and calibrated the battery.
It would be nice to get some comments from other 15" MBP owners.

Assuming it has the same voltage as Apple portable batteries have had for years (10.8 V), the calculated full charge capacity of a new battery is 6760 mAh. That's a nominal value, and real new batteries will vary within a range of that value. So, your battery specs are fine. I know 3-4 hours seems a far cry from 7 hours, but keep in mind that the 7 hr estimate isn't 'real world', it's marketing. The biggest power consumer is the display, so turning down the brightness to the minimum level you need is the best thing you can do to increase battery life.

Hello! Can someone tell me what is the default value of Full Charge Capacity (mAh) parameter for MBPr 13 late 2013?
I suspect I have a battery capacity severely degraded, though I have only 42 charge cycles.Make sure Power Nap on battery is unchecked.
Go to System Preferences.
Select the Energy Saver button.
Make sure the Enable Power Nap on Battery Power is unckecked. This will be located under the Battery tab in Energy Saver preferences.
Also, try resetting your SMC.
Resetting the SMC of an Intel-based portable Mac with a battery you should not remove on your own
Note: This will not delete any data.
The SMC is responsible for controlling various system functions. None of your data will be deleted by resetting the SMC.
Shut down the computer by going to Apple () > Shut Down…
Select Shut Down or allow the computer to shut down automatically.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter into a power source and then connect it to your Mac if you have not already done so.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift (⇧), Control (⌃), and Option (⌥) keys and the Power Button at the same time.
