Why PO is automatically assigned with release strategy?

I created a PO with PO document type NB and NB is not assigned with any release strategy.
But the PO with NB type is automatically assigned with release stragety when I save it as a completed PO.  Why?
And only when the PO is in held status, there is no release strategy assigned to NB PO.
Is the normal ERP behavior?
I only assigned a release strategy to PO document type DB, which means dummy document type.

Please check the release strategy of PO, whether document type NB is assigned to it. May be you are checking the wrong release strategy. Look up the release strategy under CLASSIFICATION button, may be if multiple release strategies are used, your document type is assigned to some other strategy.
Easier way to check which strategy is getting applied, is in PO release strategy look up rel. strat No. which will come under release group, look up in spro with this release strategy no. in spro which will shorten your search.

  • Send purchase order e-mail with release strategy

    Hi!!
I have a problem with sending e-mails in purchase order that are blocked with release strategy.
I create a purchase order that is block for the release strategy, then I release it. This is working OK, but I can't send an e-mail with this released puchase order, to do it, I have to modify something in the purchase order.
    Somebody knows what is happening?
I would like to send e-mails without previous modification of the purchase order.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
Purchase order via e-mail in SAP sys,the configurations and pre-requisites are follow:
    1. You must maintain an e-mail address in the address in the vendor master.
    2. The same applies to your own user master. You also have to specify an e-mail address there in order to identify the sender.
Note that it is not possible to change the e-mail address of the vendor via the SAP purchase order transaction (ME21N, ME22N, and so on). The system only uses the e-mail address of the vendor that is maintained in the vendor master!
    3. For the output type for default values, a communication strategy needs to be maintained in the Customizing that supports the e-mail. You can find the definition of the communication strategy in the Customizing via the following path: (SPRO -> IMG -> SAP Web Application Server -> Basic Services -> Message Control -> Define Communication Strategy). As a default, communication strategy CS01 is delivered. This already contains the necessary entry for the external communication. Bear in mind that without a suitable communication strategy it is not possible to communicate with a partner via Medium 5 (external sending).
    4. Use the standard SAP environment (program 'SAPFM06P', FORM routine 'ENTRY_NEU' and form 'MEDRUCK') as the processing routines.
    5. In the condition records for the output type (for example, Transaction MN04), use medium '5' (External send).
    6. You can use Transaction SCOT to trigger the output manually. The prerequisite for a correct sending is that the node is set correctly. This is not described here, but it must have already been carried out.
    7. To be able to display, for example, the e-mail in Outlook, enter PDF as the format in the node.

  • Indirect role assignment- PO Release strategy  roles

    Hello,
I am in the midst of creating PO release strategy roles for implementation and trying to figure out if indirect role assignment / position based assignment would be a good idea for these roles. The reason- there are 35 release codes.
I am pretty new at using indirect role assignment but do understand a bit about the evaluation paths. We are not implementing SAP HR so there will be no usage of infotype 105. The role will be assigned to the position and then the position to the user ID. The HR Org structure is in place (atleast for the PO release workflow).
    Is this a good idea?
There is one other think that stumped me. One of the functional consultants (who is also part of business) has asked me why we can't use indirect role assignment for all function (purchasing, sales, finance etc.).  For one, i know with so many users assigned to positions and then indireclty to roles, the overhead would be too much and complex and then the problem with the evaluation paths.
But i am not convinced myself that this is the best explanation to give...
Any ideas on how to put it through correctly?
    Regards,
    Prashant

    Hi Prasanth,
I also had a similar requirement, but since there are multiple release codes, and limits, we ended up with a custom solution, since it is a bit tough when it is required to manually assign the authorization to a person who is in a seperate job role.
We have used a custom user exit, and all the values were stored in a custom table which contains Sales Organization, User, Lower limit, Upper limit, Division, and Release codes information etc.,
We have further created a custom transaction code that reads information from the table and authorizes for the upper, and lower limit of approvals along with the company code/release code authorzation checks.
    Hope this helps!!

  • Version Management on PR with Release Strategy

We are using Release Strategies on PR, along them Version Management activation is also required. All configuration have been done, Versions are automatically triggering in PR's without release, however in PR with release new version is not reflecting, every change is going in Version 0.
    Suggestion is required...
    Full points will be awarded.

    Refer the note 664928
You change a purchase requisition. Why does the system not generate a new version?
    Answer:
The system always creates a new version when the purchase requisition reaches a final processing state. These are the following processing states:
Active, if no release is used
Release completed, if the release is used
Only the following changes to a purchase requisition lead to a new version:
All version-relevant changes (defined in purchasing Customizing under -> Version Management -> Version-Relevant Fields of Purchase Requisition)
    Changes to the document assignment

  • Purchase Order E-mailing with Release Strategy

    Hello,
We are experiencing an issue when e-mailing a Purchase Order which has a release strategy. When the order is released, the confirmation e-mails are going to the person who releases it when it is supposed to go to the person who has created the P.O. We are using a Smartform P.O. based on /SMB11/BL_MM_PO_L and print program /SMB40/FM06P. I must note that there was a bug found in the aforementioned print program and before that was fixed e-mailing would not work at all.
We have also attempted to use all combinations of standard unmodified print programs and standard unmodified smartforms and have had no luck at getting the confirmation e-mail to send to the correct person this way either.
SAP has recommended that we use program SAPFM06P with form Medruck. While this combination does work correctly, Medruck is not a Smartform. Has anybody here used a smartform Purchase Order with a release strategy and had the confirmation e-mail send to the created and not the releasor?
Below is a list of the print programs and forms we have tried in various combinations. We are running ECC6/Basis 7
    Print Programs:
    /SMB11/FM06P
    /SMB40/FM06P
    SAPFM06P (Sapscript Only)
    Forms:
    /SMB11/BL_MMPO_L

  • Chek budget in PO with release strategy

    Hi
When i created a PO with a release strategy and the comand need it, the budget are not checking at the save, only when i release the PO.
Is it possible to check the budget (on a PM order or on WBS element) at the PO save.
    Thank's
    serge

Normally checks like those happen once the PO is released ( example  - output is not allowed etc)...
You may need to add something in the PO release strategy user exit to do the check before release (after save), Look into the below to see if this works.
Name of the Enhancement: - M06E0004
Name of the function module: - EXIT_SAPLEBND_002

  • Workflow with release strategy

    Hi All,
Can anyone tell me if it is necessary when using workflow to help with the PR release that it be first released by the requisitioner, then the approver, then the buyer. Then it will be ready to process the PO.  We are configuring workflow into the system and it is my understanding that this is the way it has to be in order for workflow to work properly. Can someone please tell me if this is right? Does the requisitioner and the buyer have to be part of the release strategy in order for this to work?

    Hi Gregory
Requistioner and then further approvers are required but there is no need to have buyer as one of the approver. because any how he is going to invoilve in PO release.

  • Deleted purchase order with release strategy

    Hi all,
When PO are deleted, the release strategy is disabled. However, if you mark final invoice and delivery completed indicators, the release strategy is triggered, even if the po is deleted.
Is it possible to disable the release strategy when final invoice and delivery completed indicator are marked?
    Thank you for your answer

The technical expert in my team has found the explanation to that problem:
A deleted item is "statistical" => there is no release strategy (standard control in ME_REL_STRATEGIE_EKKO function module)
But if ''final invoice'' and ''delivery completion'' are marked, the item is NOT statistical (standard control in LMEPOF4X include)
Therefore, a release strategy is redetermined even if the item is deleted
Thank you all for having tried to help

    Hi gurus,
With release stratregy you can not print a PO before release through ME9F. The system will give error message 'No corrosponding document found'. However, you can print PO through 'Print Preview' by clicking on Print icon in ME22N, we need that "Print Preview"doesn't print PO without release. System it shouldn't print.
    Thank you!

  • Why is google automatically downloaded with flashplayer?

When downloading Flashplayer it automatically downloaded the Google taskbar and Google Chrome.  I do NOT want these on my computer and want to know why you are forcing them on me.  No option to not download was given.

To prevent this, use the direct links for Internet Explorer or direct links for other browsers to download Flash Player installer.
The Mac OS X installer is here
Bookmark those for future use, as Adobe updates the installers at those links when they are released.

  • Why is bluetooth automatically enabled with iOS7?

Does anyone know why bluetooth is automatcally enabled in iOS7? I turned it off initially but when I did software updates to 7.0.1 and 7.0.2 I noticed bluetooth was on again. Does this need to be left on in order to use some of the new features?

Just turn it off, you only need it if using Airdrop or connecting to some BT device.
I'm guessing, but the update may turn it on just to test it, as sometimes an iOS update does include a BT firmware update or bug fix.
P.S. turning on Airdrop does turn it on as well, but, disabling Airdrop does not turn it off automatically.

  • How to assign Release strategy with new PO type

    Hi experts,
I have created new PO type but the same is not mapped with release strategy at the time of raising purchase order.
I have done the following steps :
a ). Creation of new doc type via SPRO > MM > PURCHASING > PO > DEFINE PO TYPE
b).  Edit characterstics in release strategy via path SPRO > MM > PURCHASING > PO > RELEASE PROECURE FOR PO > EDIT CHARACTERSTICS > VALUES  (  MENTION NEW PO TYPE & DESC. HERE )
Still I am unable to find release strategy tab in purchase order. Please help.
Suggestions / Rewards will be highly appreciated.

    Hi ,
I dont know how much customisation u have complited ,
    But for release strategy
1 Following are the imp charecrticities ct04 you have to define
    Order type (Purchasing)
    Plant
Total net order value ( with  table &  field)
2.check or create relese group is assighned to appropriate class cl01 (with above charecricities )
3.define relese code ( in this u define release level --supervisor , manager etc)
    4.release indicator  (block ,release)
5.define the group with strategy in that specify prerequisites, release status, classification (specify to the document & plant you want to maintain)
6.create po me22.  In me29 you can release it( unless u cant process)

  • Purchase order release strategy with multiple characteristics

    Hi All,
We have Purchase order release strategy based on the following characteristics:
    Total Net Order Value
    Purchasing Organization
    Release strategy Type
    a few other custom fields
We would like to have PO's with release strategy based on a particular Material Group [say X]. I have created a new Characteristic with respect to CEKKO-MATKL and added this characteristic to the same class.
I have created a new release code [HR] [we need a different person to sign off] and a new release strategy [TR] for which I have assigned the release code HR. In this release strategy, I have set it to get activated for a particular Material Group that does seem to work, but the remaining PO's are not getting triggered for other material groups. For other release strategies, I have left the material group field blank, because they need to be triggered for any material groups except X.
Could you please let me know if I am missing something  or is there an alternate approach to this ?
    Thank you,
    Satish

    Hi,
Obviously system will not trigger release strategy in ur case since in the classification data for other strategies u have left it blank excepting X for one strategy.
Since u have added a new characteristic Material group  and assigned it to class then system expects an input for Material group for triggering release tab.If this is left blank then system by default will not trigger release strategy tab.
    Solution:
First add all existing material groups in values tab of mat group characteristic then maintain the required set of material groups except X in other strategies in classification data.
Hope this is clear to you.

    Uzair
