Why resolution is so small after OS X Mavericks was installed?

After installing OS X Mavericks webpages (including Apple's) are very small and distorted (very narrow and long) Have tried in preferences and could not find anything to set up resolutions, I tried in Google Chrome, could not find anything either. Anyone knows how to fix this?

Everything is smaller. I found someone else's post and changed resolution. I removed the "Best for Display" and selected 1600 x 1000, is the closest, but does not look as it was before, trying the next one is just too big. I do games and jigzaw puzzles online and now I have to scroll up or down to center the image in the window, I didn't used to do that.

Why is my ram being used up after mavericks was installed?

My ram is being eaten by something and it doesn't come back with out running the free "memory clean" app. I have the following running all day:
Finder
Daylite (my station is not the server)
Mail
Safari (Lots of Google Maps all day)
Acrobat Pro
I jump in and out of Excel, Word, Evernote and Skitch
I have 8 gigs of ram and it slowly dissappears over time... down to 7MB or less sometimes!
I also noticed that many things are very slow the first time they are run each time after startup. When I click on a shortcut in Finder, it dissappears.
This all started after Mavericks was installed. Before it was a smoking fast machine.
When I started typeing this, I had over 2 gigs of ram free. Now I have 710 MB and it continues to drop.

First get rid of the Memory Clean up app, uninstall following the developers instructions. Next I would recommend posting an EtreCheck report so we can tell more about how your computer is configured. If you use any "maintenance", anti-virus, malware checking apps those are not only unnecessary but are potentially the problem. Post the report in your next response please.

Does anyone know how to install cinnamon desktop environment after arch linux core was installed? It can access internet but no desktop environment now. So how to install and configure cinnamon on arch linux via command?

So you finished installing the basesystem or also bootloader, graphics and so on? (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners'_Guide)
If you finished installing with the Beginners Guide you need to install the cinnamon package (pacman -S cinnamon). After you installed cinnamon you need a display manager - e.g. lxdm (You can use another one, here's an overview: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Display_Manager). If you want to use lxdm with cinnamon you have to install the lxdm package (pacman -S lxdm) and enable it afterwards (systemctl enable lxdm.service). If you've done with this just restart, you should see the graphical display manager you installed. If there's a dropdownmenu or something like that (e.g. when you use gdm instead of lxdm) choose cinnamon as display environment and login.

My Itunes keeps freezing up right after the resent update was installed. What can I do to fix this issue. Please help.

Lost my registrations and my sites in iweb after new logic board was instal

I recently brought my MacBook Pro in to the Apple to store to check out why it wasn't starting up properly. I would hear a chime but the display wouldn't even light up. We tried an SMC and a PRAM reset. We tried plugging in an external monitor and reseating the ram. They had determined after 30 minutes at the genius bar that I must have a faulty logic board. Four days later I picked up my repaired notebook and everything was fine.
I then began noticing some very peculiar things. Saved settings seemed to be missing. My browsers cache was not as I had left it. My BootCamp Volume had gone back to a previous state prior to some applications being installed and even had a user account missing. So far, this didn't seem to be enough to make an issue of until tonight.
I went to open an application and it prompted me for my registration number. I've had this app installed for about 6 months now and never had an issue. Then I go to open iWeb and discover that all my sites and pages are missing. I haven't looked for them because they really aren't that important to me... but what if they were?!
Many settings and preferences are perfectly fine but I find it extremely hard to understand how coincidentally all of these other items crapped out immediately after a new logic board was installed. Is there any explanation for this at all? Is there any further testing or further info I can provide to get to the bottom of this?

Look in "About This Mac" in the  menu for the serial number. They probably didn't copy it to the new logic board. They can download software to do this from a website restricted to Apple service departments.

You can try to disable the Java Quick starter and the Java Console extension in the Control Panel > Java.
Control Panel > Java > Advanced tab > Miscellaneous >Java Quick Starter (disable)

Why resolution will change in After Effect?

Would you please help me? I have problem with imported files in After Effect, the file resolution in After Effect is different from source file.
I am editing an NTSC video file in Edius, the resolution is 720x480-widescreen16:9 and aspect ratio is 1:2, I exported part of clip with exactly same feature but when I imported video in After Effect, the resolution and Aspect ratio changed, right now the resolution in After Effect is 856x480 and aspect ratio is 1:00, I dont know why it changed.
The video format I chose in Edius was Canopus DV AVI, could it be the reason? Should I use another format?
Can anybody help me? What is the problem? How can I solve it?

You should separate fields if the video is interlaced. You may either work in a square pixel comp or a rectangular pixel comp. AE will handle all PAR correction internally without problems as long as the footage is properly interpreted.
For render, if you are going back to canopus for editing you should render with the same frame size and specs as the footage. You may choose to interlace the output if you desire. I presonally haven't rendered anything as interlaced for years. I used to shoot film and I hate the look, but it's a matter of choice.
I'm not sure what you're referring to as the interlacing problem. This is the first that I've heard of that. If you mean that the footage looks interlaced in AE then that's probably the case. If you separate fields properly then there should be no interlacing problem. Interlacing has nothing to do with pixel aspect ratio.
Interlacing does have something to do with comp size if your footage is a different size vertically. For example, if you put NTSC DV footage which contains 480 scan lines (480 pixels high) in a D1 comp 486 scan lines (486 pixels high) and you don't separate fields in that footage, then you render introducing fields in the proper order for your D1 capture solution, the field order in the original footage will be reversed. The solution there is to move the footage down 1 pixel. This is kind of a mute point anyway because if you're moving video around in the frame, scaling it, or rotating it in any way you should be separating fields on all interlaced footage. There's no exception to that rule.

Why the photos became smaller after it's been imported to iphoto 08?

the actual photo size is like 5-10mb, but after i imported it into iphoto, it shows 2-4mb, what should i do if i wanna import the photo in their original size???

1. Turn off auto rotate on your camera then you can choose whether or not to do it yourself. Remember, if you're printing (which is whee this would most come into play) you can use the page set up to print the unrotated pic the right way up, if you follow me.
2. Alternatively: download the pics to your desktop first (use Image Capture to do this) and then rotate them before importing using somethng like Graphic Coverter or CocoaViewX. (Either of which will do lossless rotation.) The import them into iPhoto.

Why won't software reinstall after computer hard dive was replaced.?

I need to be able to scan again with this multifunction printer, but software won't load.
Printer model is CM2320nfMFP, Product number is CC436A. After hard drive was replaced in computer with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system, the software that come with the computer will not install. I get two error messages. One tells me to log in with an adminstrator account, which is absurd, since the computer has only one account on it so the only user is the administrator. The other is that the software is not compatble with the operating system, and Windows 7 is not among the systems that it says it is compatible with. When the multifunction printer was first purchased, the computer used at that time had Windows XP. When the computer was replaced with the current one using Windows 7, I had no trouble getting all the software including the scanning software to work, even though the comptuer now being used had the same operating system that it has now.

Why has my computer slowed after updating with mavericks

i updated to mavericks .since i did this my computer has slowed and i am also getting problems with streaming can i revert back to mountain lion.

how much RAM do you have?
how full is your hard drive?
what apps are you trying to run when things are slow?
do you have any crapware installed, like
antivirus software
defragmenters
"cleaners"
"optimizers"
how long has it been since you updated? Spotlight may be updating, that can take a while, and things may be slow while it does.
Boot into your recovery partition (hold down ⌘R at restart until you see the Apple symbol), go to Disk Utility, and repair your hard drive. While you're there, repair permissions too. OSX Tips Using the Recovery HD
Try a safe boot (hold down shift and restart) : Mac OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode? . If this works, it means that the problem is with some third-party software you have installed.
Try a test user account: Isolating an issue by using another user account .
That is: if you want, we could try to fix what is wrong. Otherwise, you could certainly go back to ML if you want. Yamaha XG-AC Audio device not working after SP2 for XP was installed

Hi,
i'm new in this forum and maybe my question is a stupid one but i'm not able to solve this problem.
My Satellite 5200-801 doesn't make any sound after i've installed SP2 for XP. I tried to find a new driver for Yamaha XG-AC Audio Device( the one that doesn't work is 6.13.10.2152 (date 19/07/2002)but i was not able to find anything.

I found another posting in this forum about this issue!
Your Satellite 5200-802 has a sound chip called Yamaha YMF753 and it is built in different notebooks! This chip does make problems with Service Pack 2 because MS regards the Yamaha AC-XG sound driver as being unstable. When Service Pack 2 is installed, Windows will disable the sound driver.

Itunes problems after last Windows update was installed.

After an update to Windows XP a couple days ago, everytime I turn on iTunes, thing go bad. A blank internet explorer window came up several times and essentially froze, and any attempt to close it met with a window that the program wasn't responding. I was unable to close it, and was unable to use Ctr-Alt-Del, and was unable to shut down the computer. The only solution was to do an emergency shutdown with the power button, and then eventually everything came back although very slowly. The same thing happened again if iTunes was turned on.
It seems like itunes and IE are now incompatible so I suspect that that update added some security measure which interferes with the itunes and its internet connection.
Anyone have a simple solution? I could try a restore but I may not be able to get back far enough?

I uninstalled KB 2446708 (Security Update for .NET Framework 4) ... took forever to uninstall, like 20 minutes.... And now Firefox starts up normally!
By the way, my Firefox is version 3.6.17, running on Windows Vista 64bit. I try to avoid all the new updates like IE9. Perhaps I should try avoiding .NET Framework 4 as well.

Install MATLAB after LabVIEW and SIT was installed

I have installed LabVIEW 8.2 and simulation interface toolkit in my computer.
The problem is I have Matlab 6.1 in my computer and it is not support by SIT so I updated it to the Matlab 2006b.
In such case I installed the Matlab after I installed the LabVIEW and the SIT. In this way I can find the NI sink or any other NI functions in MATLAB.
Is there any way to import the SIT to MATLAB besides reinstall SIT?
If reinstall SIT is necessry, should I just reinstall SIT or should I also reinstall any others? (I have LabVIEW RT, FPGA, Vision module in this computer)

You are missing all the files that need to be in Matlab. So, you just need to uninstall SIT and reinstall again. This should fix the location of the files and you can have SIT working again.

After larger Startup disk was installed, I have no available disk space.

I used CCC to make a bootable clone of a Mac Mini (10.5.5) 40 GB drive on to a 250 GB drive that I installed in the Mini. It boots great. However when I try to do anything that requires writing to the new larger drive I get an operating system error saying that the disk is full, please delete files to make additional space.
When I check the "Macintosh HD" in the finder it says I have 199 GB available.
What is going on?

Perhaps the partitioning of the new larger drive was incorrectly done
or to some marginal format standard the system can't use for more files.
Hard to say what happened while cloning, recloning and restoring;
unless the event was captured on a movie others could see, with
subtitles and edits to show more detail than the first-run would tell.
Some kinds of security may limit the available volume of the drive;
so if you have something running in the System, it could mess it up.
When I make clones, there are certain things I've done, a few I've tried
and then a few new things I've learned and tried to remember next time.
If you see the new hard disk drive in Disk Utility, does it show more
than one partition; and what does it say about the format type or
the status if Verified? Have you booted the computer from the Installer
disc and ran Disk Utility from there and have it Repair Disk?
There is a chance you may have to do some work on the new HDD
and see if the results change. If the drive was repaired and prepared
prior to the installation of OS X, it should just work. If the format is not
correct, perhaps the file system is not right for your configuration.
Sorry to say that I have no magic answer; and if the situation were
mine, I'd hope to have a second source for a new clone (the old HD)
and that, in an enclosure, would supply the next attempt in cloning.
My clones are usually from healthy re-repaired, updated, permissions
repaired, disk repaired, etc. & good full-computer-content clones result.
And at times, I make sure the latest version of CCC is used, and the
target drive is pre-erased, zero-overwritten and reformatted correctly.
Even a new drive can have issues, and may not be working right.
Hopefully someone with this kind of glitch experience will reply; my
experiences include wrong merging of system files, processor up-
grades that ran fine from a system but wrote incorrect code to the
software, so the hard drive would not work again, after shutdown;
and other joys. Some best forgotten after 140 Mac repair/restores.
