Why the public IP is used in SAP Landscape

Hi All,
I need information about public IP is used in SAP landscape.
I searched in google and sap forums, but it gives how to public IP change in SAP system.
It didn't give reason.
Can you help in this.

The public ip is used in sap router configuration, so to configure sap router we have to give ip address.

I have some difference on "installing win2k12 server" by winpe(8.1) way.
the case is the following Win2k12 R2 x64 version
step1:
dism /Apply-Image /imagefile:d:\split_install.swm /swmfile:d:\split_install*.swm /Index:4 /ApplyDir:u:\
step2:
dism /image:u:\ /Add-Driver /Driver:d:\drivers\ /Recurse
There are no problem on Step2 on installing win2k12 R2 x64 debugcheck or win8/win8.1.
But there are error on Step2 on installing 10005.0.150125-0130.WINMAIN_PRS_SERVER_OEMRET_X64FRE_EN-US.

Sorry I didn't respond right away. Got busy on other matters and this issue slipped my mine. Developements have happened...
On coming back to this project, the HD on my laptop died (development comp). Never had any display issues on this machine (was previously posting about issue on computer where app will be run from, where issue still exists). After re-installing everything on my new HD, I'm now experiencing this problem on my development laptop as well.
I'm using an IBM Thinkpad T30 (P4-M, 2.0GHz, 256MB, ATI 7500 Mobility). So it used to display fine on this machine, now it doesn't, and I'm experiencing the same symptoms: grainy display from what appears to be a lower resolution colour palette (maybe 256).
Here too, this is only an issue within the development environment. The startup Labview splash screen looks fine (again LV7.1), the blue bar along the top of all windows transitions from the darker shade of blue to the lighter shade, properly. This issue is on the toolbar and in the developement area within Labview only.
It's weird how this appears to just come or just go. I don't remember who, but somebody here mentioned how their problem just stopped as suddenly as it started. And as this is localized to LV, I'm inclined to think this is not the video card, but perhaps some file/driver/dll that perhaps gets modified/updated without direct visibility. I briefly had this issue aswell on an older Toshiba laptop about a year ago, but it eventually "fixed" itself aswell (don't remember model/specs of older Toshiba).
Anymore help and research into the issue will be most appreciated.

Remind me again why the Touch can't use a browse by file/folder syst

The thickness I can li've with. The weight I can li've with. The slow transfer rate I can li've with. But the file system is really bothering me.
I can't stand having only the artist/genre/album/track sorting. If Creative would just add support for file/folder browsing, the Touch would be a perfect player.
And don't tell me that adding it would ruin the other sorting systems. The Archos Gmini XS200 does both.
The only thing keeping me from switching to the Archos is the 40GB dri've on the Touch. But the lack of a browse file/folder feature is really grinding down. I have until the 30 day return policy is up, which is about another 0 days.

Both the Archos and the iRi'ver have USB mass storage support. When you connect the player you don't need drivers etc. to access it, they just appear as a dri've letter and you copy files.
I'm not sure about the Archos, but the iRi'ver also can have a Music Library that runs off tag data. The way it does this is by the User initiating a scan of the hard disk which takes several minutes to build the library. Every time you want to update the library you have to run this scan.

Can Solution Manager manage all the security for all of our SAP Landscape?

I had installed it for incident management back several years ago during our original go-live - and it fell by the wayside after go-live. My question is related to the latest and greatest version - can it actually to the administration of security roles, profiles, etc. of all of our SAP systems from within Solution Manager?

Renewing public key certificate used for Seeburger AS2

My general question is when a public key certificate, used for Seeburger AS2 payload decryption and digital signatures, needs to be renewed, how carefully do the certificate renewal steps need to be coordinated for a seamless transition? More specifically...
1. Once we import the CSR response from the CA, will the public key currently used by our partner become invalid, or will it continue to work until its expiration date?
2. Will our partner be able to validate our signature after the new CSR has been imported, but prior to them applying the new public key certificate in their system?
3. Or can we renew the certificate, import the CSR request, provide our partner with the renewed certificate, and let them apply the certificate at their own volition, provided they do it prior to the original certificate expiration?

In my experience, the renewal/replacement of AS2 certificates for encryption/decryption & signing/authentication requires coordinated effort on both sides.
This is because AS2 uses asymmetrical encryption, so both parties need to use the same pair of certificates at the same time, i.e. you encrypt on your private key, and partner decrypt on the public key matching your private key. If the keys used do not belong to the same pair, then decryption will not work.
I'm not sure what AS2 software your partner uses and if it has the feature of automatic rollover of certificate, but PI/Seeburger does not. The approach in PI/Seeburger can either be one of the following:-
i) import new cert replacing original cert of the same name
ii) import new cert into new name, manually update sender/receiver agreements
Due to the manual nature of the tasks, normally it requires coordinated effort during a cutover window.

Why isn't my iMac using all of my RAM

Hi,
I've recently upgraded the RAM in my iMac (System details below) from 4GB to 12GB as it was running a little slow, I have found this has made no difference and at times seems even slower.
I was doing some work with video files and was converting a video using MPEG Streamclip and so this would be quite a memory intensive task. As it was progressing very slowly I checked my Activity Monitor and it was only using 4.49GB of the memory overall and of that only 97MB seemed to be dedicated to the MPEG Streamclip task.
Does anyone know why the system isn't using the rest of the RAM that is installed?
The highest usage process is 'kernal_task' with 838.9MB but I don't know what that is, There are a lot of items in the process list but I don't know how to remove them or even if I can or should remove them?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Why is EA Star Schema used ?

I have a simple question on why the Star Schema is used ? Getting an answer from Wiki is not what I wanted , some response from the Gurus would be great to hear. Every time when there is a Metadata Update in HFM during Monthly Change and Maintenance a New Star Schema should be created and only then I run the Dimension Update Job in Essbase, what is the real reason for that. If you say that it Updates the New Dimension changes in HFM to Essbase , then for that we already have an EAL taking care of Updating the Essbase Metadata in Tandem with HFM.

BAPIs provide RFC-enabled interfaces to SAP business objects (e.g. like customer, sales order, purchase order, etc.).
A BAPI does basically the same like you would need to do calling the corresponding transaction (e.g. BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATE -> VA01).
Since they are RFC-enabled they can be called from external systems.
BAPIs represent an external interface for the outside world. Very often you will find within the BAPI that there is a mapping done to the (SAP-)internal structures at the beginning of the coding and vice versa at the end of the coding. Thus, you will (almost) never find any DB table name used as type of a BAPI TABLES parameter.

I have created a dynamic page and assigned a template to it. When I call the dynamic page using the 'show' procedure from a form, I do not see the template.
Why is the template not being used ? How can I get the template working when I call the dynamic page ?
I even tried to show the page from the dynamic page's manage components tab and there is same problem. Template is not being used.

You can alter the generated package body to include the following function in the header and footer sections.
Header:
PORTAL.wwv_headings.show_header(
p_template => 'PUBLIC.TEMPLATE_3',
p_heading => 'Dynamic Page',
p_help_link => 'PORTAL_DEMO.EXAMPLE_DYNAMIC_PAGE.help',
p_about_link => 'PORTAL_DEMO.EXAMPLE_DYNAMIC_PAGE.about');
Footer:
PORTAL.wwv_headings.show_footer(
p_template => 'PUBLIC.TEMPLATE_3',
p_help_link => 'PORTAL_DEMO.EXAMPLE_DYNAMIC_PAGE.help');
where
<PORTAL_DEMO> indicates application schema
<PORTAL> indicates the name of the portal (normally this will be portal30 by default).

How to moniter the max quantity of used dialog work process in SAP system

Dear Gurus,
The quantity of Dia Work Process(DWP) of APP1 is: 16 (rdisp/wp_no_dia=16)
The quantity of Dia Work Process(DWP) of APP2 is: 16 (rdisp/wp_no_dia=16)
The quantity of Dia Work Process(DWP) of APP3 is: 20 (rdisp/wp_no_dia=20)
The quantity of Dia Work Process(DWP) of APP4 is: 20 (rdisp/wp_no_dia=20)
So the quantity of DWP in our SAP system is: 72 (=161620+20).
We have 75 dialog users and many RFC callings via JCO method from J2EE system.
I'm afriad the 72 DWPs will be run out of use someday.
So I want to moniter the max quantity of used DWP every per hour to prevent the situation I mentioned above.
Could you give me some suggestions?

As the method you told me, I have some questions:
(a3) Do you restart your 'CI + 6 DIA' separately every week? Why did you do that?
(a4) How to calculate 'CPU intensive time'? For example, App server 'APS' was restarted on 8-10-2011 and stopped on 8-20-2011.
There was a DWP(PID 557550) was created and activated on APS during this period(10 days). So If I add up each 'cpu time' of the task
which 557550 executed, I can get the 'CPU intensive time' of 557550 (dispalyed in SM50). Right?
    In other words:
       DWP(PID 557550) finished task1: cpu time = 5ms 8-10-2011
       DWP(PID 557550) finished task2: cpu time = 4ms
       DWP(PID 557550) finished task3: cpu time = 6ms 8-20-2011
     So the 'CPU intensive time'(Between 8-10-2011 and 8-20-2011) of DWP(PID 557550) is: 15ms (5ms4ms6ms). Right?
(a5)Can we moniter the 'CPU intensive time' of DWPs in CCMS automatically? (I want to prevent the situation: The DWPs in our entire ECC are occupied.)

Creating RSS feeds to iTunes U for the public or other portals to use

I looked in the documentation but was unable to see any information on setting up RSS feeds for course content.
Is there a way to view the RSS feed address for a podcast like - http://itunes.stanford.edu/rss.html? They have addresses like - http://deimos3.apple.com/WebObjects/Core.woa/Feed/itunes.stanford.edu.1291405182 .01291405187

When I was a schoolboy, I programmed Turbo Pascal. Each program there had a name (declared in file's beginning). The name was never used, but: it has no such restriction of length (as MS-DOS file names had) and it could clash with other identifiers described in code.
