Why the request to download Pages?

If I open on my iMac or MacBookPro in iCloud the iWork option Pages I get the message to download Pages for IOS.
I have Pages for IOS already installed and used for some time.
I have Lion and the latest version of Pages on my computers.
So, why the message?

Wayne Contello has written a User Tip for working with the old and new versions of iWork.
Need newer version of Numbers to open file
The trick is to drag icons for both versions to your Dock. Right click or control click on each and Options > Keep in Dock. That puts you in charge of which version you launch.
Here is a screen shot of both Numbers icons on my Dock.
Numbers 2.3 (Numbers '09) on the left with a three column graph.
Numbers 3.2 on the right with a four column graph.
Both versions will run happily together. Just be sure which version is opening your document.
Instead of double clicking the document, run whichever version of Numbers/Pages/Keynote suits and use File > Open.

Inspector > Text > More > Language
Only applies to selected text, like making it a particular font.
It is not a setting that sticks. If you continue to paste in text from elsewhere particularly the Internet it will have a different or None language set to it. You need to select it and make it B.E.

i need to update my mac mini, but the apple support downloads page never loads.

You've tried Software Update, or it doesn't update what you want? So you go to http://support.apple.com/downloads/ and it doesn't load in your browser? Which brwoser are you using, and have you tried it with another browser? Firefox, Chrome, Opera ? Did you reset your browser, empty the cache, cookies, etc?

Itunes 11.1 will not install. It keeps taking me to the 11.0 download page. Then if I download, it says 11.0 is already installed. WTH??

Check the Ethernet connection to the AirPort Express. Make sure that the Ethernet connection from the Comcast modem is connected to the WAN port on the back of the AirPort Express. The WAN port is the one with the circle of dots shown over the port.
It sounds like you are connected to the Ethernet LAN port.

When I launch the apps store, the google maps download page shows and I am unable to proceed to the store in spite of having already downloaded google maps. Any clues on rectifying this please?

When I periodically accessed your Plugin Check and Updates web page in the past, I really appreciated you connecting me to the correct Plugin Updates vendor web page when I clicked on your red Update Now button. This time, however, your Java Applet Plug-in "Update Now" button linked me to the Oracle Java "7u65 Updates Release Notes" instead of the usual download page. It seems rather unexpected for me, or any other conscientious user for that matter, to search the appropriate "JDK 7U65" file download from the Oracle website.

This is getting way too complicated for normal peop.
First: the "Update Plugin" does not work, it goes to a page with all sort of computer jargon but no "Update button" anywhere.
Second: this forum jscher2000 gives a good solution, but I downloaded the incorrect java update, because my computer is 64 bit. how am I supposed to know my browser is what it refers to and that FF is 32 bit.....???$%^&*()??
Third: some of those "critical update" software are not even on my computer....well at least I don't think it is, I search for "shockwave" and did not find it.
I love Moz FF but the updating is starting to get out of control. why give us (computer idiot) an auto recommendation update not tailored to our computer? Perhaps in big letters at the top there should be an explanation "this is general suggestion these plugin needs updating, not to tailored with your computer, do your own research"
and/or add info I need to know like the 32 bit thing, took me forever to download the 64bit update for JAVA and it was the wrong one.
Now I am just afraid to update anything for FF because it is too darn confusing.

I use the "out.println(content.length());" to check the length of the content,it displayed 20.
But when i try displaying the content,it display nothing. Why?
I think that javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest is an object that warp the HTTP1.1 request message (including the header and the message entity).

But when I try to debug this part of code, I find SFSY-PAGE and SFSY-FORMPAGES always have same value.

Smartforms evaluate &SFSY-FORMPAGES& during the execution of the form.
If you want to know the final number of pages, you have to execute the Windows at the end of the form. Look at OSS [Note 588352 - '*' when you output the total number of pages |https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/588352] so the window will be "late" executed and the data of &SFSY-FORMPAGES& and &SFSY-PAGE& may be different. (the note relates to "final" window)

Only MsWorks opens .wps on the PC, what chance has Mac OSX got?

Why can't I download Pages, Keynote, and Numbers for free even though I got my Mac and iPad mini as a student?

I bought my Macbook Pro and iPad mini at the Palisades Mall, New York location and was told that I can get those same apps for free on my Mac. I have been using my iPad mini for assignments and have never been able to download Pages, Keynote or Numbers on my Macbook Pro, despite having the same Apple ID and having all of these apps on my iPad Mini.
I don't know the exact day I got my Macbook Pro, but I have the serial number and I know the month and year I purchased it.
Yes, I got the student discount on both items, but the apps are only on my iPad mini.

iOS and OS X versions of these apps are entirely different apps. Getting one free doesn't entitle you to the other.
Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are free on the Mac App Store for qualifying Mac computers purchased on or after October 1, 2013. OS X Yosemite required. Downloading apps requires an Apple ID.

Why i can't download pages

why Pages can't be download on Macbook Air OS X 10.8.5 and pages needs 10.9 when both systems had been updated recently ( >:-S) ... any other good word processor on the AppStore?

I think the older versions of these Apps should still be an option for those who have not upgraded. What if I don't care about the latest version syncing with my iOS device or iCloud? What if I just want to use the program on my computer and that is all?
I think if you still run 10.7 or 10.8, the older versions that still function just fine should be available.
