Why will my photos from my iPhone not sync up to my macbook pro?

Ever since I did the new updates my photos and videos will not download from my iPhone 5s to my mac book pro when connected.  I was wondering how to troubleshoot this ASAP.

  • HT1688 Why will some songs from my iPhone not transfer onto my iTunes & vice versa?

I've had the same phone for about a year and a half and it's always been fine up until a few months ago. Some songs just show up in iTunes but are shaded and there's a little circle all the way on the left side of the row. I'm not sure why this is happening and it's rather frustrating. Any suggestions?

    Should've mentioned in your post.
Now try de-selecting all the songs in iTunes, and sync.
Do a Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data
Select the songs you want and sync again.

  • Why are my contacts from my iPhone not syncing?

I'm entering new contacts in my iPhone, and after syncing, those new contacts are not in my address book on my Mac.

I recommend storing your contacts in iCloud and using iCloud contacts both on your Mac and your iPhone.

  • How do I download photos from a thumb drive to iphoto on my MacBook Pro?

Hoe do I download photos from a thumb drive to iphoto on my MacBook Pro?

Your profile shows you have a MacBook Pro running OS 10.3.x. A MBP can't operate on OS 10.3. So, what model Mac do you have and what OS is it running?

  • How do i delete photos from my iPhone without losing them on my Macbook?

I have imported my photos from my iPhone 4s to my MacBook and want to delete them from my phone to free up space. It seems that when I delete them from the phone they are also deleted from my iPhoto on the Macbook. How do i make sure they remain on the macbook?

This happens because you're using iCloud for photo sharing.  Duplicate the photos on your macbook and then turn off iCloud for photos.  That will delete all cloud copies of the photos, and in the future any photos you take on your phone won't be shared automatically with your computer - meaning that if you copy them off of your phone, the ones on your phone can then be safely deleted.

  • HT4623 How do I upload my photos on my iPhone 3GS to iPhoto on my MacBook Pro

How do I upload my photos I took on my iPhone 3GS to iPhoto on my MacBook Pro 2012. I operate OS X 10.8.3 and have iOS6.1.3 installed on my iPhone.

    Hi J-L Bos,
You hook your phone up to your Mac. This should cause iPhoto to automatically open and to scan your phone's photos. If it finds photos that have not been imported yet, it should ask you if you want to import them. Once the import is complete, iPhoto will ask you if you want to delete the photos you just imported from your phone.
    Hope this helps!
    Cheers,

Hi, I have changed from an old laptop to a macbook air. how can i keep my music from my iPhone and sync it my macbook? Only purchased music seems to be available to sync, even though the rest of the music was uploaded from CD's on my  last laptop.
As I can't upload CD's onto the Macbook Air, how do I keep the existing music on my iphone syn onto my new macbook without deleting all the cds on the iphone??
    Many thanks!

    Hi RaulRod,
Are you pressing the Sync button to transfer music after connecting your iPhone or do you have the option checked to 'Automatically Sync when the iPhone is connected?'
Have you tried manually dragging and dropping music from your library into your phone?

  • Why are none of my midi controllers not working with my new MacBook Pro?

    Keystation 49e

  • HT201269 Will my photos from my iPhone stay on my iPhoto when i click delete photos from phone?

I need more memory on my iPhone and want to turn off photo stream but i already have some photos saved on my macbook pro's iphoto and i was hoping that if i turn it off and continue to save my photos on iphoto if it won't delete the photos on iphoto that i have already and just add the ones that it doesn't have? I really have sentimental photos that are filled with memories and am worried that my pictures will be deleted.
Please anyone with any knowledge of this PLEASE HELP!
    Thank you!

Turn photo stream off. Import all your photos to a file on your computer. Now whatever you delete on your phone will still be on your computer.
Just dont sync those folders back to your phone or you will put them all back on your phone. And if you sync empty folders from phone to computer or vice versa you will clean out your phones pictures.
what I recommend is once the pictures are on a file on your computer, copy and paste them all to a usb thumb drive. viola, no lost pics

  • I found an old iPod classic of mine.  It's not synced to my new MacBook Pro.  How can I get the music and photos off of it and on to my new computer?  When I plug it in to my new computer it wants to erase what is on it and transfer from my new computer.

I found an old iPod classic of mine that is synced to a computer that is long gone.  I want to get the music and photos from this old iPod onto my new computer.  Every time I hook the iPod up to my new computer it wants to delete what is on the iPod and replace with the contents of the iTunes that is currently on the new computer.  I don't want to do that.  I want to keep what is on the old iPod and transfer it to iTunes.  Any help?  Thanks!

  • Emails sent from my iphone not syncing...

Emails sent from my iPhone haven't been syncing with my macbook. Having finally looked into it I've clicked the 'Store sent messages on the server' box and whilst this makes all my iphone sent emails appear on the macbook, all the macbook sent emails then disappear!
How can I fix it so that I receive all sent emails from both iPhone and macbook on both?

It depends on the Email account you have. Who are you with? GMAIL, YAHOO, ICLOUD?

  • Can I transfer music and photos from my 17" PowerBook G4 to a new MacBook Pro?

I am planning to buy a new MacBook Pro in the next couple of weeks. Can I have the "Genius" at the Apple Store transfer my music and pictures from my current PowerBook to the new computer? My current computer is a 17" PowerBook G4, running OS X 10.5.8. Because of the age of my computer and software limitations I have been unable to use iCloud for anything besides my calendar and contacts.

Yes, flash drive would work fine.
If all you care about is music and photos, as you indicated earlier, then you simply need to copy the entire contents of your Music and Pictures folders from the old computer into the Music and Pictures folders on the new computer. A flash drive will work fine as long as it is big enough. If you want to also move over personal files, typically those are in your Documents folder and possibly your Desktop, so don't forgot about those.
If you want to migrate over all your emails, applications, internet and router settings, web browser favorites, bookmarks, preferences, user names and accounts, etc., then you might consider doing the full migration using Setup Assistant upon the very first boot up. Apple will do this for you, for a fee, as will almost any Apple-authorized computer store (also for a fee, but probably for a bit less than Apple would charge). You can actually do this manually, using the external drive or flash drive, and I have done that myself. But you need to know where the files are to do that properly. The Setup Assistant (which is run upon the very first boot up of the new computer) or Migration Assistant (which is run after you have booted into your new computer at least once) make it pretty easy -- the main thing you need to do is hook the computers up with a firewire cable and follow Apple's instructions; or if that is not possible, the next best thing is to make a complete backup of your old computer onto an external drive using Time Machine (or a cloning program like SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner) and migrate from the backup.

  • How can I move photos from an external mac hard drive to new Macbook pro?

Hi I hope someone can help. My girlfriend spilled soda on her 2008 macbook aluminium running Leopard , rendering it useless. She has since bought a new Macbook pro and would like to get her photos from iphoto onto her new comp. I've removed her harddrive from her old damaged computer and put it into an external USB enclosure, her new Macbook picks up the external hardrive but when I try to move the photo folder (drag) onto her new computer, it says something about the version of iphoto not being compatible. Also when i click on the photo folder on the external harddrive there are no photos on it. Any help would be appreciated, and would score me some brownie points with her .

Does she have any photos in the iPhoto library on her new machine?
What version of iPhoto does she have?
The general answer is to trash the iPhoto library on the new computer (assuming it is empty) and drag the old iPhoto library to the pictures folder of the new machine and launch iPhoto letting it convert the library

  • Why aren't all of my iPhone 6 contacts automatically on my Macbook Pro?

My iPhone 6 is backed up to iCloud, however, even though my mid 2014 Macbook Pro (running Yosemite) is logged in to iCloud, only a small portion of my iPhone's contacts are present.
    Note-
    1. All updates are installed on both devices.
    2. I double-checked in the setting to make sure that phone's contacts were backed up to icloud
    3. My iPhone is set up to do sync to iCloud (and I would prefer to do it that way rather than setting up a local workaround)
Am i missing something? how is it that some of my phone's contacts are present and others aren't?
The issue persists on iCloud.com (when I login, only a portion of my contacts are present)
Thus, I'm thinking that this must have something to do with my phone not properly synching all contacts with iCloud. Suggestions?
