Why won't PS download correctly?

I have downloaded and installed Photoshop twice now and it keeps giving me the same prompt when I go to open it. The prompt says, "Some of the application components are missing from the Application Directory, please reinstall the application." Could I be installing it incorrectly? I don't know how this could be....

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

This FAQ should describe the issue - you need to be using Adobe Reader (free) or Adobe Acrobat to fill out the PDF, Preview on the Mac breaks the PDF so it is no longer usable: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2653

LP content can only be downloaded on a computer's iTunes (or 1st gen Apple TV), you can't download them on an iOS device - and I haven't seen anything that say it will change in iOS 8. If you don't have a computer then at the moment you won't be able to download/view LP content

What version of iPhoto? Of the OS? what has changed since it worked? How are you trying to open it (clicking on the icon in the Dock, double clicking on the application in the applications folder, ???)?
Anything else you can tell a total stranger who can not see you or your computer to let them assist you?

I downloaded the creative Suite CS5 for Windows from the Adobe CLP website and I got a file named: DesignPremium_CS5_ LS1.7z which will not load on my Windows machine.
Did I miss a step... What mistake did I make and why won't it unpack and install?

You should have also downloaded a small .exe file with the same name. If you cannot find it then you can manually extract the .7z archive using 7Zip: http://www.7-zip.org/

Firefox won't download at all. It says extracting then stops. I click save then run then run. Then it says extracting then after that it just stops downloading. WHY?!?!?! Annoying.

Do you get an error? Disable any antivirus or firewall software running on your computer during the update process if you're unpading using iTunes.
If you're trying to update over the air, try doing it with your computer instead.

Why won't Mail download my mail?

Yesterday Mail stopped getting my mail.
Looking at my webmail I can see some 200 emails waiting to be downloaded. I've called my ISP and checked that all my settings are correct - and they are.
When ever I click 'get mail' I just get the 'no mail' alert noise. Anyone got any ideas?

If a POP type account, try the following first.
Quit Mail and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail > this account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) > MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded.
Delete the MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded file and empty the Trash.
If successful when re-launching Mail, any messages that remain on the server will be downloaded again in addition to all new messages not yet downloaded.
If this isn't successful, check all messages at the server via webmail access and delete all spam messages and any messages that contain unusually formatted HTML.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.
