Wi Fi No Longer an Option in Settings

I have a Wi Fi only iPad and just updated software in iTunes (version 3.2.2(7B500). Following this update, Wi Fi is no longer available as an option in settings ((grayed out). I have restored and reset my iPad multiple times. I am seeing a lot of chatter online that this may be a universal issue related to the software release. Anybody else experiencing this?
Please advise.
Thanks.

HI and welcome to Apple Discussions...
iTunes (version 3.2.2(7B500).
The latest iTunes version is 10.0.1.
Can you point to where you see this "chatter" regarding a universal issue related to the software update?
If you have Bluetooth activated, try turning that off. Settings / General / Bluetooth
Restart your iPad and try wi fi.
If that doesn't help, try the suggestions here. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12203072
"Erase all data and configuration".
Hopefully that will help.

And yet the link you posted only tells you how to do it on the Facebook App for Android. Nothing about the Facebook page is mentioned at all, or how to do it on an iPhone.
With that said, and assuming you have the most up to date version of the Facebook App, you can now turn the auto play feature Off within the Facebook App itself.  Tap on the "More" icon on the bottom right, then scroll down to Settings->Videos and Photos->Auto Play. If Smart auto-Play is on turn it off. Then you can set the check mark on "Never Play Videos Automatically" which is the same as Off.

  • Where can I find a guide to all the options and settings available via the "about:" pseudo-URL? (Using FF 3.6.8)

When I last used Firefox support, several years ago, I saw mention of a long list of options and settings available, using a kind of local URL, beginning with "about:". I can't find it now. The text "forums" that I saw then seem to have disappeared and been replaced by support for dummies who might be frightened if they saw a page containing more than just a tiny amount of information.
The question is: where can I find this guide, listing all the available options and settings so that I can make my own decisions?

I must have forgotten; it wasn't exactly FF support, but Mozillazine. '''Thank you for the pointer'''. The "long list" I was thinking of was in fact about:config, which is pointed to by that page.
Given all that, I think it should be easier to find Mozillazine from the FireFox support pages.

  • When I open TB, under "Accounts", it only shows the option "Create a new account". Option: "View settings for this account" is NOT shown.

When I open TB, I no longer see any information about the TB account I've used for years. Instead, the main menu shows only "Accounts" -- "Create a new account - Email, Chat, Newsgroups, Feeds". Option: "View settings for this account" is NOT shown.
Also the main menu does NOT show "Email - Read messages, Write a New Message" or "Advanced features", etc..
The actual emails pertaining to the TB account I've used for years are still present under the "Users --> xxxxyyyy --> AppData --> Roaming --> Thunderbird' folder.

I'll assume you have calendar sync set correctly when you connect the phone to iTunes and click on the Info tab, but please check that.
Next go to Options in Outlook, the Other tab then click *Advanced Options*. Click *Com Addins* and make sure the iTunes addin is checked.
Now in Outlook go to Help/About and click *disabled items*, and make sure the iTunes addin is not listed.
If all of this is OK, or it still doesn't work after setting these correctly, go to iTunes Edit/Preferences Devices tab and click *Reset Sync History*.

  • In Pages I used to be able to edit a template and "save a version" to update the template. Now i have to rename the template to save the changes. Why is this happening? what happen to "save a version"? its no longer an option under "file".

In Pages, In the past, I was able to edit a template and "save a version" to update the template. Now i have to rename the template to save the changes. Why is this happening? what happen to "save a version"? its no longer an option under "file". And I can no longer open the actual template, when template is clicked, it automaticaly opens an "untitled" version???

In your description you say the first document opens as the Title you gave it.
Templates always open as Untitled so it sounds like you have saved a regular document, perhaps into your templates folder which is possible.
Since you have already worked on it and it has been previously saved, Lion will now Save for you and Save a Version is available
The other document does open as Untitled so sounds like a real template and as Peggy has pointed out will not have either Revert nor Save a Version until you Save it and have changed something in it.
This is a classic example of just how Apple's supposedly "simplification" of the process, is leading to confusion of what has happened. That the conditions and resulting actions from those conditions is so convoluted says it all.
It all reminds me of the Monty Python Life of Brian sketch with the "simplified" John Cleese instructions to the class, as to if you have a brother in an older dorm whether to hang your hat and bag on the hooks provided. The trouble is Apple does not get the joke, that it is transforming itself into a frequently self contradictory bumbling bureacracy. The price of unchallenged self appointed geniushood.
The incoherent half baked stumbling juggernaut has reached new triumphs with its edict on enforced Sandboxing on developers when it is unable to follow even its own instructions.

  • Bonjour no longer an option

    Hi there,
This morning I received a new cable modem from Shaw, my ISP. Since I received the new modem, though, I've had great difficulties with what once was a problem-free setup.
My cable modem is plugged into a D-Link Ethernet switch. Both my Airport Express and my G5 are then plugged into the switch. I have a Canon printer plugged into the Airport Express, and I use the Airport Express to access the internet with my MacBook Pro.
Before I received the new modem, I had been able to easily transfer files and print from both computers to the Airport Express-connected printer. However, with the new modem, I now have to have the Airport Express set to distribute IP addresses in other for it to connect to the internet. As a result, I can no longer easily connect my machines or print from the G5 via Bonjour. If I disable 'Distribute IP addresses' then I can once again print and share files, but not access the internet with my laptop.
Does anyone have any idea what the solution might be?
    Thanks!
    Christopher

    Is the G5 wireless?
If not I suspect that you were drawing two IP addresses from your ISP and this is now no longer an option.
You need to ensure that your cable modem is connected to a router, to which you can then share the single IP address from your ISP with the multiple devices on your network.
Your Airport Express can be configured as a router, but as you have found no way of connecting wired clients.
Either get a router with two LAN ports or make the G5 wireless.

    Hi t.romano91,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
I'm not sure why you had to manually enter your contact information, but if you created and turned on your iCloud account, the information should be there.
The link below will give you a general overview of iCloud, and how to look at your contacts:
    iCloud Help: Contacts overview
I've also included the User Guide for the iPhone below to help you get started ...
Please note that the Contacts App (looks like a brown address book) is located inside the Utilties folder on your home screen.  Press and hold the Utilities folder and it will jiggle.  Then drag the Contacts App out onto the home screen for easier access. (see page 20 of the guide below).

Page 100 - 102 explains how the Contacts feature works.
    Enjoy your new iPhone!
    Have a great day!

Go back to the home screen and pull down notifications. You will see "tap on twitter"

This is a follow-up to the above question I had.
Since i noticed people looking at the question, but no replies showing up, i contacted BC support directly with the same question.
    I got a reply.
I did tests based on the reply.
Here is what is going on based on the reply.
(spoiler alert : It works... but it's not yet a perfect score.)
All the details are posted here :

    Hope this can help others.
    Cheers.
PS  I still will use DW for the heavy lifting...
But MUSE is nice for quickly putting together a mini website.
           Highly recommended App.

  • No Sleep/Wake button option under Settings

I just had my ipod nano replaced, and there is no Sleep/Wake button option under Settings anywhere (In Music, etc.) I had no problems finding it and setting it up in my previous nano (need to useit for the next song option when I work out.) Did Apple go away with it?

The sleep/wake button can be used for the following functions (according to the indtruction manual pdf file you referenced) - "
Music settings let you customize how you listen to and play back music on iPod nano. To see these settings, tap the Settings icon on the Home screen and then tap Music. Here are the Music preferences you can set:
    "Sleep/Wake Button
Choose whether double-clicking the Sleep/Wake button pauses or plays the current track, or plays the next track."
I used it in my previous iPod to play next track (a great option for a runner, instead of having to use the touch screen.)
However, the new iPod I was given after I started having issues with my previous one after a few weeks of use, has no way to assign any functions to the sleep/wake button, as there is no icon/option for the sleep/wake button under Settings/Music, at least not in my new iPod.
Hence I am wondering if it is a glitch in my particular iPod, and I need to get it fixed through Apple, or, given all the issues people seem to be having with sleep/wake button getting stuck after a few months of use, they decided to just disable any fuctions for it, besides the basic sleep and wake.

  • No such option in settings bug

Can anyone advise on how to go about reporting a bug in iTunes?
iTunes support for Windows has an article which directs a user to select the [mobile] phone in the iTunes window and then "Click Settings and then select "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC."" The bug is that there is no such option in settings!?

When you connect an iTunes enabled mobile phone to your computer, it is listed under the "Devices" category along the left side of the iTunes window.
When you select your mobile phone from the "Devices" list a "Settings" button appears along the bottom right of the window. This is the "Settings" that I thought iTunes support was directing me to select "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC". As I previously stated, there is no such option located here.
After installing iTunes v8 I found that when you select your mobile phone from the "Devices" list an additional "Settings" item appears as a tab at the top of the screen. When you select this tab the option to "Convert higher bit rate songs..." appears here. When synched the mobile phone is now populated with songs from the iTunes library containing only mp3 320 kbps songs.
It would be nice if Apple could update it's support file to help direct users to select the correct "Settings".
