Widget update interval

I've few widget on the desktop but only the email one is updated properly, all the rest did not update at all. For example the ForecaWeather is set to update every hour but it won't update until I manually start the internet connection, and the Facebook one keep showing me the first 3 post when I first run it, there is no individual or centralized setting for widget update interval, there is no way to change and tell when they will update, I don't know the use of the widget if they do nothing !!

you have to have the internet connected for them to update (they won't connect for you) and they only update when in view

  • Rating Widget - Update afterRating following rateHandler

    In the rating widget I am implementing, I want to fade the
    stars out onclick, then fade them back in with the updated
    "average" value showing. I am using the rateHandler to call my fade
    function, and then the fade function calls another fade to handle
    the fade-in. However, during the fade-out, the afterRating updates,
    so you sometimes see the new value being updated as the widget is
    fading out.
    Basically, I would like to update the "afterRating" value
    following the fade-out, but before the fade-in. Any ideas?
    Here is the URL:
    Test
    Code
    Thanks!

    Update:
    Ok, the first query on the Recent tab doesnt work for me because it wont show unless its already voted, and since these are supposed to be new blurts, that kind of breaks the whole site:
    "SELECT Blurt.Id_blurt, Blurt.Name, Blurt.Location, Blurt.Blurt,Blurt.`Date`,DATE_FORMAT(Blurt.`Date`, '%l:%i %p on %M %D, %Y') as Date, ratings.rating_id, Avg(ratings.rating_value) as average_r FROM ratings Left Join Blurt On ratings.rating_id = Blurt.Id_blurt Group By Id_blurt ORDER BY Blurt.`Date` DESC";
    So I replaced it with what I originally had.
    "SELECT Blurt.Id_blurt, Blurt.Name, Blurt.Location, Blurt.Blurt,Blurt.`Date`,DATE_FORMAT(Blurt.`Date`, '%l:%i %p on %M %D, %Y') as Date FROM Blurt ORDER BY Blurt.`Date` DESC";
    But this doesn't provide me with the initial average rating:(

  • Twitter Widget Updates in iWeb Site

    Hello all
    I've come across some web pages created with iWeb (I believed) and it has a small section/square with the creator's *Twitter updates*.
    Is there such a widget readily made in iWeb, or I have to created with some perhaps, complicated script or html text?

  • Audio in widgets - update

    I am using Hype to build html5 widgets.  So far I have been unable to play audio within the widget.  The Hype people have been very helpful, but so far no joy.
    Interested folks might like to read the thread at http://hype.assistly.com/customer/portal/questions/179961-audio-via-javascript-t o-be-used-in-a-widget-bound-for-ibooks-author?new=179961
    Bottom line is, so far, no audio inside a widget.
    You CAN do it via a Keynote presentation.
    In my case I'm demonstrating different types of noise (white, pink, brown, grey, blue) and the presentation needs to trigger graphical changes (smartbuilds in Keynote, timelines in Hype) and audio.  I can link a graphical change on a "quasi button" to play the sound (sound "build" is play spund WITH graphic change) but it can only be played once - the next click will change slides - keynote is designed to be linear.
    BTW, when you export a keynote file as html, (which I am guessing happens when you import a keynote presentation to iBooks Author) the sound file is converted to .m4v, but if you put that "audio-only-movie" in a hype widget, it is not accepted by Author.....

    Welcome to our community, Judy.
    Note that simply acquiring Soundbooth won't do the trick for the mass update. Mukul said this was only possible if you purchased and installed the eLearning Suite. If you just install Soundbooth, Captivate will still be unaware of it and won't work in the manner you are seeking. But you will be able to use it to edit audio clips you export from Captivate.
    Cheers... Rick

  • RW215W Dynamic DNS update interval

    Hi,
    I have a RW215W Router. Using a mobile broadband dongle for internet connection and the public ip changes every time the dongle is connected. I´m using a ddns service. I need update the new ip to the ddns service more frequent or when ip changes. Is this possible? any suggestions?

    Hi,
    Please check if your multiple DHCP has joint the group DnsUpdateProxy or not. To do this, you can refer to:
    DNS Record Ownership and the DnsUpdateProxy Group:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd334715(WS.10).aspx
    Also check if the client service “DNS client service" is running fine.

    I know the user can manually update the webfeed but is there a way to force the feed to update more often than once a day automatically?

    Hi,
    Please go to Internet Options -> Content -> Settings of Feeds and Web Slices and try to change the frequency.
    Hope this helps.

  • Collection updates interval

    Hi,
    Is there a way to force all collections to update f.e. full 1/week and also incremental?
    Note: why not use incremental updates by default for all collections (to heavy load on database?).
    J.
    Jan Hoedt

    Hi,
    If you force a full collection update there is no need to do a Incremental update, the best way would be to script a schedule on the collections so they update onmce a week, make sure not all update at the same time though.
    For incremental it is a performance reason,
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg699372.aspx
    The documentet best practice limit is 200 this ha increased some in R2 but still around 800 is a fair limit of course depending in the performance of your SCCM Site and SQL.

  • Weather Widget Has Stopped Updating

    Last week I started transitioning from a satellite internet connection to a wisp (wireless isp). When I am connected to the satellite connection, the weather widget updates when I bring up the widgets on my screen. When I am connected to the wisp, it doesn't. Right now the 5 day forecast is for Friday - Wednesday (it's Sunday).
    The calendar widget updates to the current day.

  • N97 Mini Homescreen Widgets

    Hello
    Where can I find replacement homesceen widgets to install on my M97 Mini? In particular I want the RSS feed widget.
    The story is:
    I used the RSS widget to bring up my Toodledo tasklist on the homescreen. Unfortunately, I messed up the address, and crashed the web feeds. The only way to resolve this was to do a hard reset, which actually tidied up a lot of rubbish off the phone, but seems to have lost some of the homescreen widgets. Ironically, the RSS widget is one of the missing ones, and I can't get my tasklist on my homescreen.

    Maybe you need to recreate the web feed again in the native browser, e.g. the BBC News feed in the following way.
    select Menu > Web > Options > Go to > Web feeds
    select Options > Web feed options > New feed
    Set Title = BBC News, Address = http://feeds.bbci.co.uk/news/rss.xml, Automatic updates = (desired update interval)
    After creating the above web feed, it should be found with name "BBC News" in the Add Content widget list.
    If you still cannot find the web feed, it might be that the web feed is already added to the home screen, in that case you cannot see or select it from the list. Try removing the home screen widgets and check if the web feed widget appears in the list after that. Try also creating the feed with another name, in case the old "BBC News" widget name is still in use (even though not visible on the home screen).

  • Awesome systray is not showing all icons, perhaps overlapping widgets?

    I have a problem with my Awesome configuration that results in some of the icons being missing or partially missing from my systray. I suspect this is because of some overlapping, since they are partially hidden. You can see the problem in the top right corner.

    I have tried to search around for a solution to this, but I am coming up short. Any idea on how to solve this?

    First of all, did you check the wiki and forums? We'll help you, but you have to try to fix it yourself first.
    You will need to provide more info if you want help.
    Did you set up Gnome to force fallback mode?
    Did you look at the Gnome wiki article? There's a few sections that sound like what your looking to do, but the examples are USING OTHER WM's. They still might be able to point you in the right direction.

  • Conky broken after global update

    I just ran a pacman -Syu and conky was updated to the newest version. Since then I have restarted my computer. When I started KDE I noticed that Conky was not running. I opened up a terminal and tried to run it manually, and I got the following error:

    I've tried googling and searching various forums, but it seems like a problem that was just created with the new version. I have no clue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I have another odd issue that's come up.  In my network section, it shows all the up/down speeds, ip, and such.  Then at the bottom is shows "Network Unavailable", while at the same time obviously showing the network up and running.  I have a section that gives me a weather report, and it has something similar.  Could be related to the endif error being reported?  Some if statment not working right?
    Pertinent .conkyrc section:

    Seems like the if/else's are being mishandled somehow.

  • How to disable yum auto-update in OL6

    Hello,
    What is the correct procedure to disable yum auto-updates?
    The "yum-updatesd" daemon that existed in OL 5 does no longer exist in OL 6.
    I found out that the "PackageKit Update Applet" seems to be responsible for running the auto-update. It can be enabled or disabled in the new Preferences/Startup Applications control panel. There is also the "gpk-prefs" control panel to set the update interval to "never". However, both control panels work on a per-user/login basis and cannot be used to disable yum auto-update system-wide.
    Finally I found /etc/PackageKit/PackageKit.conf, which has a DefaultBackend parameter, but I don't know what I should put there.
    Is there here a way, to disable the yum auto-update system-wide without uninstalling PackageKit?
    I already checked the documentation at http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html/Deployment_Guide/ch-PackageKit.html but it was not helpful.
    Thanks!

    The actuall problem I'm trying to fix is the following error:
    <pre>
    Another app is currently holding the yum lock; waiting for it to exit...
    The other application is: PackageKit
    Memory : 45 M RSS (357 MB VSZ)
    Started: Tue Jul 10 09:27:04 2012 - 04:09 ago
    State : Sleeping, pid: 2317
    </pre>
    The above error can happen if you have an active Gnome session and e.g. connect as root using ssh session and try to use yum.
    I may have found a way now to disable the automatic system updates, however, I don't know if this is the proper solution since I cannot find any information about it.
    I modified */etc/PackageKit/PackageKit.conf* and changed:
    <pre>
    DefaultBackend=yum -> DefaultBackend=nobackend
    </pre>
    It requires a re-login of your Gnome X session to take affect.
    Then Administration/Software update does no longer scan for updates, and apparently no longer lock yum at the system level. At least the problem seems to be fixed globally that way.
    I will mark this question as answered, but any ideas are still welcome.
    Thanks!
    Btw, here is a link to previous older thread to disable it on a per-user basis:

  • [SOLVED] Conky: After 2.6.37 update, conky no longer shows temperature

    Well, the title is quite self-explanatory but I'd also like to add that:
    I noticed that conky reads correct values and after exactly 3 refreshes it just displays 0, no matter how long is the update interval.
    /sys/class/hwmon displays correct values, and 'acpi -t' also does too (they are always the same).
    My conky config had $acpitemp before the update, and after the update I had to change it to ${hwmon 0 temp 1} because $acpitemp displayed no values whatsoever.
    My .conkyrc in case anyone is interested:

    My final conclusion is that the problem is with conky itself, but this guy here managed to get it working:
    https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=111408
    EDIT: After posting here I thought "why don't I take out all these X related options?" and finally did it after so much time. And it worked, but I dunno why.
    I also tried your suggestion, litemov, but it didn't show anything at all (not even that 0), but thanks anyway

    Does that do anything for you?
