Hi nope only got bis activated
BIS = BlackBerry Data Plan. You should be ok then.
Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
Now, try your WiFi connection again.

    Hi Holliecollie93,
It sounds very frustrating that you are unable to use wifi with your iPhone. I do have an article that I would like you to use in order to troubleshoot this, though it sounds as if you have already done some of the steps provided -
iOS: Wi-Fi settings grayed out or dim
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559
    Specifically -
    Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    Restart your iOS device.
Make sure that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
Make sure that your device is using the latest software. To do so, connect your device to your computer and check for updates in iTunes.
If you still can't turn Wi-Fi on, please contact Apple for support and service options.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Brett L

  • NO wifi,  It stays grey ! 6.0.1

    Hi
I can´t turn my wifi option on.  I go to settings, wifi, but I´m not able to slide to ON.  It stays grey.  I have turned the phone completely off and have also reset network settings.  Wondered if anyone has had this issue?
    Thanks
    iPhone 4S, iOS 6.0.1

Dear everyone having issues with the iOS 6.01 wifi problem with iphone 4s.
    Please followt he following steps.
    1) login to your router and disable SSID broadcast ( this will stop your router from broadcasting it's name)
    2) change the security type to WPA
    3) in the routers MAC Table [ sometimes found in the access rule section] add the mac address of your iphone WIFI Mac address.
( go to settings>About> WI-FI Address. there you will see you WIFI MAc address)
    4) go to settings on your iphone>wifi> on> tap the field labelled other> type in the broadcast name of your router> security>WPA>save. and your good to go. have tested this with iphone 4s with Verizon and Sprint service.
Have turned the phones on and off and have no problems. Please post back if it works the same with T-Mobile and AT&T

    Hi luke_curve8520,
As Ron say about data service in other carrier. You need a data plan in order to use wifi.
OMG  I didn't say that. Sorry for iansantos' post. We're not talking about mobile data plan here, we're talking about wifi connectivity.
luke_curve8520 - if you're not getting this screen, it means you're not connected.

  • My wifi button stays grey cant turn it on

    cant turn wifi on

My 4S had the same issue and its quite a headache
Theres no fix to this apart from reset device which wont fix it, or try the blow drier and freezer method which turns the wifi on but only works for a short time
If apple is reading this ive been using apple products for quite a long time, and ios7 is terribley waste of downloading  because from all the issues tbh apple should allow users to downgrade, and get new iphone 4s when wifi is greyed and warranty Is ouf of date, if I get another issue im diffently switching to android say goodbye apple!!!!

My wifi will not turn on, stays grey. Rebooted, restored and restarted. Any suggestions?

Everything in that article is prior to restoring as new.  If the OP has already restored as new, none of the steps in that article will really matter.  This is a known issue in a small percentage of iPhones.
Also, the OP linked to this forum FROM that article you quoted.  However, in the future, if the OP has not tried anything, and hasn't linked from that article, definitely refer them to that article.

  • Wifi icon greyed out, but connected

Just got a new iMac and everything was running smoothly, until I noticed the wifi icon in the menu bar is greyed out. When I click on it, my connection shows with all darkened bars in the list, but the icon at the top is still greyed out. Can anyone help with this?

Have you by chance moved any system files?
Click the AirPort icon in the status menu bar to make sure it's turned on.
Could be your router. Check out this article >  http://osxdaily.com/2011/07/22/wifi-dropping-in-os-x-lion-fixes/

  • Airport icon turned grey, no networks shown

    G4 Quicksilver running 10.4.11
Last night after several years trouble free operation Airport on my wife's G4 suddenly started cutting out and then coming back in. Sometimes it was off for a few seconds, sometimes for a few minutes. Restarting didn't cure the problem.
This morning it was steady for several hours, then started cutting out/in, now it seems to be mainly out.
What happens is this. The black airport icon turns to grey with all bars still showing and connection is lost. When this happens available networks were initially sometimes shown in the drop down menu, sometimes not (usually there are four or five neighbouring networks shown).
When networks are shown clicking on ours sometimes, but not always, brought it back on.
When no networks are shown going via ‘Other’ and entering our details initially brought it back but no longer.
At present the Airport icon is showing grey with four bars all the time.
I have tried reseating the Airport card and checking the aerial connection but these seem OK. (I’m assuming that the existence of four bars at all times shows that a signal is being received so card problems are unlikely; is that right?)
    I have deleted com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
I have zapped PRAM and repaired permissions.
I booted from an external HD (10.4.2) and the same problems appeared. The fact that the same problem exists with another boot disk suggests to me that the problem lies in the G4 rather than software.
    Any ideas, please?
(I started a similar thread in the G4 forum which has had no takers so far and as Tiger forums seems to get more Airport traffic I thought I would try here.)
    Michael

    +”Get Temperature Monitor - 4.51 to see if it's heat related”+
I’ve used Temperature Monitor in the past and it only shows drives, not CPUs on our G4s. (Reading round this seems to be a problem with the current version and I can’t find any earlier ones.) However I reinstalled TM and it showed drive temperatures going up and then staying very steady at around 35° for the boot drive (newer) and a bit lower for the original HD. I haven’t actually observed the CPU fan running but air is definitely moving through its vent. The CPU/fan area is clear of dust.
However I’m beginning to go off my temperature theory as the pattern of the problem has changed.
It originally started to show itself when the Mac had been in use for some hours and would then mean that Airport would not show any network virtually continuously until shutdown. Now at boot it may be OK for several hours, a few minutes or not at all. During the day it will sometimes come back for some hours or just minutes.
In all cases the symptoms are the same. The Airport icon turns grey but retains four bars. No networks are shown in the dropdown menu. Turning Airport off/on has no effect. Sometimes it will return on its own, sometimes networks are shown in the menu and connection is then usually possible.
I have now tried booting it from the backup HD I use for my G4 (10.4.11) and the problem as described was present from the outset. To be strictly accurate I booted it from its own startup disk and Airport was OK but when I restarted using the other drive via Startup Prefs Airport showed five grey bars but no networks.
I have also rebooted the router in case that was involved.
With my limited understanding of what makes Macs tick all this suggests that the problem must be within the G4 either in data (but PRAM has been zapped) or hardware rather than being a system issue.
