Wifi issue lost packet

Hello,
I have upgrade my new macbook air to Moutain Lion and now i have a problem with wifi.
I can't down file.
I lost packet !!!!
Olivier

I am having the same problem.
The only short term fix I have found is to Force Quit Finder (press Alt + Cmd + Esc, or go to menu bar Apple Logo -> Force Quit then select Finder and click Force Quit). Finder then quickly restarts and I am able to reconnect to my WiFi.
I was hoping the latest update, OS X 10.7.1, would have resolved this but unfortuately it has not. I hope Apple can resolve this issue quickly.
Dan
p.s. I can't confirm that this problem only occurs when my mac goes to sleep during a Time Machine back up, simply becuase I have not checked for this. I will try and check and report back.

  • I  want to make sure: Send/Recve Errors and Lost Packets on Ping - HOW BAD?

    Greetings!
Still relatively new to MBP and Mac OS - ramping up fast on account of having to troll Forums for info about MBP's not so reliable WiFi performance...
*ANOTHER QUESTION:* I get a lot of Send and Receive errors - as monitored by Network Utility.app when on my wireless network. Actually 10-20 after just 1/2 hour of WiFi activity. Going thru a Linksys WRT54GL router into a HughesNet satellite modem. AND, if I PING another device on my wireless network, I often get LOST PACKETS. All an indication that at least in my case - and I hear the same many Forums denizens complain about similar issues.
N*ow, as I download important stuff* through the wireless network - say, the current many updates/upgrades for Mac OS X and the MBP, do such occurrences render the downloads unreliable? I do not get any message of incomplete download or such as Install such wirelessly downloaded upgrades, but I am concerned about applying upgrades which would have been damaged by such xmission errors. OR, perhaps errors are flagged and "corrected" somehow??
Meanwhile, I have recently started to download -especially upgraged - via a direct LAN connection between my MBP and the satellite modem. However, seems to be a setback to me, especially since my most mundane among my Win machines have no trouble communicating over the wireless network.
    I'll appreciate assistance!

I don't know about wireless, as I only have dial up. And I have an iBook and not a MBP. But I frequently lose internet connection part way through a software update, probably due to the local antiquated phone lines. About all that happens is that the download has to be done over completely. It never picks up where it left off, so I assume the partial download is just gone as if it had never been downloaded. I would guess the same would be true of wireless downloads.
    Good luck!

  • WiFi issues with iPhone 4S & ios 6 update

    Okay here is my issue...
I've been reading alot of issues that people have with connecting to WiFi with their new iPhone 5, iPhone 4S or other devices but I have no trouble connecting to WiFi at all. My problem is that WiFi wont 'work'. The WiFi I'm hooked up to at home doesn't let me do basically anything that requires internet.
I can get on the Facebook app fine and my newsfeed loads but I can't see Facebook notifications, upload photos or videos, read inboxes, look at photos, its very slow etc.
I can't get into the App Store or iTunes at all. It says it 'Cannot Connect to iTunes Store' when I try.
I can't upload photos onto Instagram
Currently I'm into the Simpsons Tapped Out game and I can't go onto it at all.
And there are a few other minor issues I am having.
All these things I can do with my Telstra 3G network however and it ***** because I want to use and do all these things but I have to use my 3G and I've just recently gone over my data monthly usage and been charged extra which I'm not happy about.
So is anyone else having these issues or is it just me and I'm stuffed? I'd REALLY love some help.
I've been lost with what to do because as some are having WiFi issues as well, mine isnt the same and it's hard to find answers or just other discussions.
    Please Help!
    Thankyou.

I am having the same issue since updating to iOS 6.  It has been noticeable on my iPhone 4S and a little less noticeable on my iPad 3 but I think it is happening on the iPad too.  Very annoying problem.  One way to get it to work better is to re-boot your phone.  It will work for awhile then and then eventually not be working anymore and you will need to re-boot again.
Just to be clear with everyone - the iPhone looks like it is connected to the wireless, it gets an IP address but can't transmit any data.  Device:  iPhone 4S, OS:  iOS6

  • Mountain Lion and Lion wifi issues

Don't start on me about there being multiple threads on that subject already.  I was told by a very respected member of these forums to start my own thread on the issue.
Dropping wifi started with Lion and for the last 10 months with ML.  I've been in touch with Apple, they called me after reading my old post and had me run test for them with no help.  I've done completely clean installs on newly reformatted hard drive and using a USB drive to install ML.  It won't connect to wifi to finish install half the time so other software isn't the issue.
I've tried just about every fix posted.  A lot of them with Apple on the phone.  I've replaced my router knowing that wouldn't fix it because I take my Mac with me and it drops wifi on any router or network.
I have 2 Macs and only one has ever had this issue.
You don't have to believe I've tried everything, that I've had Apple call me or that I even have the issue.
I've been asked to post the names of the engineers that have contacted me.  Why would you need to know that in order to believe me, especially if you admit to not knowing any.
All I want to know is there a fix?  Yes/No
Remember it doesn't want to connect on a clean install.
    P.S.:
For all those looking for reason's not to help me, my dog is yawning in the picture not growling.  Yes I've gotten mad on other threads but how many times can you be called a liar just because their fixes didn't work for me or I won't post engineers names.

    Thanks for that list.
Out of all you posted I tried everything with Apple on the phone.
I'm the only one who uses this Mac and I constantly check my settings incase something was changed on it's own because of some app.  But I'll lock it after retrying everything over again.
I'll be glad to get it down to once every few days again. I haven't complaned about it in a long time because I could live with that.  That's where I was before it went back to dropping constantly. Lets face it once a day would be great.  I've had to reboot just trying to reply.
I've started taking some live on line courses so it's not just an announce to me.  It started again before I started classes.
The 10.8.3 update made it worse.  But not enough to go back to 10.8.2.
My mail program is affected the worst.  When wifi drops and Mail is running I always have to force quit.  I know that's an affect no the cause.
I do have another Genius Bar appointment for that and a couple of other issues.  The first time they denied there were any wifi issues until I gave them the names of the engineers that called me with their email addresses and phone numbers.  I've since lost their phone numbers but still have their email addresses.  I know one was a CA area code and the Main one was from TX.  I have emailed them this week but still no reply.
Like I said once it went down to dropping every few days I didn't care any more.
I'll keep you up to date.

might be lack of sleep but you've lost me there lol
not the first device? the modem, but the HH3 via wifi, I thought it was the HH3 broadcasting the wifi signal and what you connect to?
upped the youtube playing videos to 35, also on wifi, not a single problem, 1 hr, hope I don't get a call tomorrow lol about high usage, all in the name of science!
with the ipad and iphone, normal usage, not seen a single drop in wifi connection, seems to be when the device is being heavily used, with playtube, it converts and downloads the youtube video to play offline on the device
playing seems to be fine, just when downloading when it has a problem

  • Help Understanding Loss Of WiFi Issue

    Hello,
I am running into a stange issue. I am trying to help my neighbors with a wiFi issue. They have a cable modem BEFSR41 v3 and a WRT54GX4. Everytime there is a power surge or outage, they loose internet and have to usually reboot both modems. The BEFSR41 is the DHCP, I have the DHCP turned off on the WRT54GX4. This time the BEF** kept the internet going and the WRT** lost the internet and we had to reboot it to get connection again??
I never loose internet after a surge or power outage when it returns. I am using the same BEFSR41 v2 and a ONQ WL-330gw wireless access point. I never have to reboot, internet always comes back after outage.
I am lost on trying to figure out the issue for reboot at my neighbors when I do not have to at my house? Could their cable modem be bad?
    Thanks JR

Try to upgrade/re-flash the firmware on your router.
Connect the computer with the Ethernet cable to the router.
Download the latest firmware from Linksys website and save it on your computer. Open the setup page of the router. Click on Administration tab and go to Firmware upgrade sub tab. Browse the firmware file that you have already downloaded and upgrade it on your router.
After upgrading the firmware on the router, it is recommended that you should reset the router and reconfigure it. Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure it.
Also try to change some advanced wireless settings on the router. Click on Wireless tab and go to Advanced wireless settings. Change the Beacon interval to 75, RTS threshold to 2307 and fragmentation threshold to 2306. Save the settings.

  • NI VBAI GigE Camera Lost Packets

We are running VBAI on a fast PC through an Intel Pro/1000 card and a jumbo-frame GigE switch to a large number of Basler Ace GigE cameras.
It is understandable that multiple cameras can not simultaneously transfer complete images to the PC at the full 1000 MHz data rate due to the limited bandwith between the PC and switch.
One way around this is to throttle the max data rate for each camera down so that the sum is not greater than 1000 MHz.
However, this means that image transfers always take longer, even if only one camera happens to be in operation much of the time.
Is this a fundamental limitation of GigE Vision, or are GigE Vision cameras clever enough to operate as fast as possible...via resends of the occasional lost packet???
         Nelson

We have come up with a solution.
The issue is that the cameras, switch, network card, and VisionBuiilder cannot handle any instance where more than one camera is sending images to VisionBuilder where the total of the data rates for those cameras is ever in excess of the 1GB network card bandwidth.
(It would be nice if someone made a network switch that has slightly more packet buffer memeory...100MB?...so that the occasional collision does not result in garbage images while allowing most captures to operate at maximum speed.)
    Solution:
    (1) We added 3 additional 1Gb network ports to our vison pc.
    (2) In order to redistribute camera traffic to more than one network port, we assigned each network card, and the corresponding cameras, to a different subnet.
    (3) We lowered the data rate for the less time-critical cameras.
Even after lowering the data rates for several cameras in NI-MAX down to 200 Mb/s such that lost packets should no longer be possible, we stil saw them.
After a detailed examination we found that the VisionBuilder image acquisition steps do not pay attention the the data rates that you assign in NI-MAX, and alwasy default to the maximum 1000 Mb/s rate, hence the saturated data rates and lost packets.
The solution to this problem turns out to be to explicity set the desired data rate in each VisionBuilder Image Acquistion step, using the attributes tab.  While you are at it, you should also check that other critical parameters, such as the packet size, are also correct, and update them if not.
After explicitly correcting the data rates in all image acquisition steps, we ran an image capture stress test that ran all the vision processes (several programs running simultaneously) about 10x faster than required, and observed no lost packets at all.
    Problem solved.

  • Does ios 6.1.3 wifi issues get solved in next update?

Has anyone solved their wifi issues after new update of ios ? Coz i am having wifi issues since i updated my iphone 4s to 6.1.2 . I dont think it is a hardware failure... I have tried resetting my iphone as new device. I have checked my router settings which is a netgear make.
Please help if new software updates help solve this problem? I have updated this from 6.1.2 to 6.1.3 but unfortunately  the problem persisted after updating my device to latest ios running. I guess many are having same issues. GUYS WE MUST DO SOMETHING SO THAT APPLE LISTENS US ATLEAST.

I'm having the same issue since 6.1.2. I worked throught the various checklists and nothing has worked. What I have noticed is most of the 'fixes' require me to do someithing with my home router. I don't understand that as I use my phone as a hotspot or internet connection while I'm away from home and on 3G. That part doesn't make sense.
When the phone is connected it is recognized in iTunes but not in the System Preferences Network Settings page.
I used to connect my phone to my Mac via USB and opt to use the USB Only option for HotSpot with the Mac WIFI off. The blue bar on the phone comes on indicating that HotSpot is working. It has worked for me like that until 6.1.2. Since then the USB Only option does not work and I have to use WIFI on both the phone and the Mac. If I'm lucky, I get a connection and can get my mail and do some surfing before it drops the connection. The blue bar that comes up on the phone is there indicating the hotspot is on, but the connection is lost. A dozen or so resets, of either my Mac or my phone, later and I might get a connection again. That's no way to do business.
All I did was update the phone when it told me there was an update available. Did I miss something?

  • Lost Packets in certain customer VLANs Trunked over ME

I work for a service provider that configures CPE networks for our customers. We have one customer that we are setting up a Disaster Recovery site over Metro Ethernet. The customers servers need L2 connectivity to the data center for redundancy. The customer wants their VLANs on their 4510 mirrored on a 3750 at the DR site. A gigabit ME VLAN was setup through our ME network between the 2 sites. The 3750 and 4510 were staged at the customer site and tested before the 3750 was moved to the remote DR site and connected by ME.
The 3750 and 4510 were directly connected on a dot1q trunk between the two switches. About 18 vlans are trunked between the 2 switches, about 15 of which have L3 Vlan interfaces configured.
The issue we are having is that packets are getting dropped, on certain customer vlans, but not others. All Vlans worked properly when the 3750 was directly connected to the 4510 at the datacenter.
Our network engineers in charge of the ME noticed MAC-Flap errors on ME switches at the Data Center and the DR site. It see the Mac Address of Interface Vlan 101 and Interface Vlan 318 of the 3750 switch on both the customer access port on both ME 3400 switches (uni) and the ME trunk ports (nni). No other vlans are having issues with lost packets, or connectivity.
On ME 3400 switch uni tunnel port is vlan 459. Native vlan is 540 on 3400 and is the switch mgt vlan.
Has anyone run into this before?

I think commonsense101 means the "Customer Agreement" and the following passage in particular.
"Where and How Does Verizon Wireless Service Work?
Wireless devices use radio transmissions, so unfortunately you can't get Service if your device isn't in range of a transmission signal. And please be aware that even within your Coverage Area, many things can affect the availability and quality of your Service, including network capacity, your device, terrain, buildings, foliage and weather."

  • IOS 8 WiFi Issue

After upgrading my iPhone 5s to iOS 8 I am unable to keep a connection to my home WiFi.  I have a Cisco Aironet 1200 access point which only has a radio for 2.4GHz.  I will get connected but as soon as I try and use it I get disconnected from WiFi.  None of my other devices running iOS 7 are having any WiFi issues.   In case this helps I logged into my AP and looked at the logs and saw this during one of these connection issues:

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • I reinstall the Yosemite due to the wifi issue, when finished, the iMovie was not installed, I try to download it from app store, but it's not free. How can I get iMovie back?

I'm using a mid 2014 13" rmbp. I reinstall the Yosemite due to the wifi issue, when finished, the iMovie was not installed, I try to download it from app store, but it's not free. How can I get iMovie back?

It's something to do with the main user account (not iTunes account) on my Mac because I logged in with another account and it downloaded fine, I installed it on the HDD and even though the date in App Store was 16th October 2014, it is the full installer of 10.10.2.
To try to resolve this problem, I have copied the installer app elsewhere and deleted it but App Store still will not allow me to download it with my main user account yet just allowed me to update iTunes.
I had a brainwave last night that it might have been related to me changing the default downloads folder to one not on my boot drive (to save disk space on my main boot drive) but having changed it back, tried again, rebooted and tried yet again, deleted my App Store preferences. nothing has worked.

  • Wifi issues with iphone not responding

    Phone: iPhone 4s.
This issue started approximately two weeks ago. My phone initially started with the Wifi connection greyed out, I followed the appropriate steps to resolve this issue, and was successful. Now I can turn the wifi connection on without problems, but my iPhone will freeze (delay), then return me to my homescreen. Occasionally I do automatically connect to my known wifi, but then will disconnect and return to 3G. If I make an attempt to go to settings to manually reconnect, the phone again freezes. The phone seems to freeze after I click settings, then when pressing Wi-Fi, the bar turns dark bold, but freezes and doesn't open. I then have to click my home button, return to the main menu. Also if I open an app during the seldom opportunity my phone is connected to wifi, the phone will disconnect, return to 3G and freeze. I have rebooted my routers, forgot networks, reset network settings. I have thought about resetting the entire phone, but my phone will not stay connected to wifi long enough for me to back up my data to iCloud. I am thinking of stopping into my local verizon store, but I think they will redirect me to an apple store; which is 35 miles away. Of course the problem with me not connecting to Wi-Fi is my increased use of data. Now I am over 75% for my monthly usage with 2 weeks remaining, and do not see justification in possibly having to pay the overage fee. Many times when my phone freezes due to these wifi issues, or will not respond, I have to do the manual power/home reset. In conclusion, I need to figure out how to maintain my connection to Wi-fi, and stop my phone from not responding when I open my wifi settings. Thanks in advance!

My Iphone 4S is doing the same thing..  All of a sudden the WIFI button is gray and not working.  I chatted online with a Rep.  He had me call *228 and hit option 1, then call again and hit option 2.  All of a sudden the WIFI button was black.  But it could not find any network.  I shut it off and restarted it and now button gray again.  I called that number again and still gray.  I read somewhere else that a lot of people have a problem with the WIFI button.  They say it basically just stops working.  This was a replacement phone because the volume stopped working on my original phone.  I assume they gave me a refurbished one because it didn't seem new.   I'm due an upgrade in 3 months.   I'm disabled and just hate driving to the store again.  I wish there was an easier way.

  • WiFi issues with Curve 8530

    Hi,
I am having major WiFi issues with my Curve 8530. Everytime I connect to my wireless router, it takes a long time to connect to BIS, and then if I try to use basically any data at all, my router drops my Curve 8530. Sometimes it stays connected, but I cannot use App World at all, and email, and web browsing is all over the place in terms of speed, sometimes it is fast, while sometimes it is slow, and most of the time it stalls while loading a page. How do I configure my router for use with BIS and have it not drop my Curve 8530 everytime I use data over WiFi? BIS works perfectly over my cellular carriers network, so BIS is activated on my device. I have tried giving my BB a static IP, but that did not solve anything. My router is a Netgear WNR2000. Also, I have the latest device software installed on my BB, and all of my apps are up-to-date.

    Hi,
Have you had any luck and resolving your problem?
We have a similar problem but it's with iOS devices where only one can connect at a time. We have about 10 that need to connect. All other laptops and tablets connect fine.
Power cycling the AX411 fixes it temporarly.
    Darren

  • WiFi issue after 6.1.2 upgrade

I upgraded my OS to 6.1.2 and now I'm having troubles connecting to the internet at work.  I did reset my network settings and inputted the appropriate password and still having issues.  It identifies the network but when open safari or an app requiring internet connection it goes nowhere.  Is anyone else having this issue.  Does anyone know how to fix this problem.  Keep in mind my connection works fine at home.
