Wifi just stopped.

After 1 1/2 years my wifi just stopped connecting. It will not accept my correct password. This is only on my macbook. My iMac and iphones are fine.

I'm assuming you applied the latest 10.6.8. update, I beleive it stopped connecting to WEP Encrypted networks.

That's nice.  Hopefully you'll have some mathematical problems for which to use your calculator.
Meantime, did you have a support issue?

  • Airport Extreme 7.6.1 WiFi just stopped working, HELP!

    Hi all,
not sure what is going on, but my Airport Extreme running 7.6.1 just stopped working over wifi. My desktop PC is wired to the Airport and it is running fine on the internet. My iOS devices, however (iPhone 4 and iPad 1) just won't work over wifi. My wife's blackberry is also not working over wifi.
I am running AirPort utility on the iPad and it can find and manage the AirPort base, but it says internet is not working (orange dot) which is not true, as I am typing this post on the PC wired to the AirPort.
I have tried to reload the AP to no avail. Have also tried to reload the iOS devices, to no avail.
What should I do? Seems like the bridge connection between the wifi network and the Ethernet port just died.
On a side note, 7.6.1 seems to be very unstable, my PS3 connection drops constantly, which never happened before. Can you point me to a more stable release?
    Persio

Try restoring the factory settings of the AirPort Express and delete all profiles
    you have set:
    1 Unplug the AirPort Express.
2 With the tip of a straightened paper clip to hold the reset button while
    plug the AirPort Express.
Wait until the status light stops blinking and then restart the base station.

  • Wifi just stopped working...

After updating to IOS 5, my wifi, only at work so far has stopped working.  My laptop WILL connect to the network as well as others iPads, iPods, etc.  I can connect with my iPad at home on my wireless with no problems.
Here's what I've tried so far.
    1.  Resetting
    2.  Powering down and restarting
    3.  Resetting networks
    4.  All settings under Safari and wifi and general.
When I was able to connect at work I would get a pop up that says click to connect.  Now I don't get that pop up.  I have turned off the pop up blocker in the settings.  One of the IT people here, while I was on the phone connected with her iPhone, but I still cannot connect.
It's almost as if the pop up blocker isn't functioning right.  I still don't get pop ups and hence I can't log in.  I tried to find a place to email Apple and mention this, but it's impossible to find an email (at least for me anyways).
    Thanks.
    Paul

    Hello bluemonarc98,
    There are several possibilities here.
    1. Are you using any kind of carrying case? A carrying case with a magnetic clip? If so, that may be a factor -- in some cases it may take a couple of days for the effects of a magnetic field to fade and normal function to return.
    2. You can try resetting Network Settings on the iPod Touch via Settings > General > Reset.
    3. Check to see if your WiFi hardware is being properly recognized on the iPod Touch via Settings > General > About -- the WiFi information should show a series of 6 pairs of letters/numbers separted by colons. If the WiFi is not showing the proper information, you may need to backup and restore the iPod Touch per http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
    4. If the reset and restore do not resolve, you may need to arrange for service.

  • My wifi just stopped working...  help please.

I've got a Macbook and starting this afternoon, I cannot join my home network using the wireless. It shows my network in the Airport menu, but when I try to join it, it says, "connection timeout". I've power-cycled the Motorola router -it says everything's fine. I've restarted the Macbook twice using safe-boot, restarting, then rebuilding permissions. Still nothing. Did my Airport card go kaput?
I'm connected right now using an ethernet cable. What else can I check to see if the card is bad or if something is just messed up in the prefs? How can I get connected once again using wireless?
    Thanks in advance.

Well, i figured it out. Wifi still wasn't connecting until I turned on my PS3. I recently made that a wired connection to reduce latency for online gaming. For whatever reason, once the PS3 connected, then I was able to take the Macbook online wirelessly.
I have no idea why, but it worked -so if it happens again, that's my fix.
    Thanks for the input, William.

  • My wifi just stops working on ipad.

To fix it i have to turn wifi off and on and it is anoying especialy when watching videos online. Any help?

    Try these simple things ...
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Also try rebooting your router - unplug it from  the pwer for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again.

WiFi wants a password but I haven't one as far as I know.  Why?
    nof

    Hi nof,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of the issue you are describing. If you are having issues connecting to or joining a WiFi network from your iPhone, possibly due to a password issue, you may find the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful:

If i understand what you are saying then you are seeing the WiFi indicator after connecting but Apps are saying that they are not connected to the internet?
Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be to restart your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

  • My wife just bought her first Iphone  a 4s a fwe months ago, its secondhand a few months ago but it came with ios7.  Now the phone has stopped working and is asking to be registered with a Developer Program portal  any ideas how I can fix this for her?

my wife just boughtnher first apple an iphone4s she got it secondhand about last july , it came with ios7 which had not been released but today its stopped working and asking to be registered with a developers program,  how can I restore her phone and hopefullykeep her current data. Please keep your answer simple we are not it people thanks.

Well, you have your answer perhaps as to why the phone was being sold in the first place - rather than being a registered developer, the previous owner probably downloaded and installed an illegal copy of iOS 7 beta on the phone and it has now bricked the phone.  Some people did this and of course they could not wait to get their hands on iOS 7, but now it has been released officially, everybody moans.
The only thing you can do is try resetting the phone again.  Connect it to iTunes and install iOS 7.0.2 and restore it as new and see if that works.  This might help the phone but will not preserve data.
If it still won't work, then I suggest that you confront the previous owner of the phone and return it for a full refund and start again, but this time buy the phone from a legitimate source.

  • My ipod touch 5th generation keeps wifi signal for 10-30 minutes and then just stops working.

I've had my ipod for about a month now and it worked fine up until this week.
This week I noticed probelms with the wifi. I would be just on facebook or browsing the web and the wifi would just stop working. Every time I turned wifi off and the on again it would give me about 5-10 more minutes of wifi before I had to do it again. I've never expeiranced this with my other 4th generation or 3rd generation ipod touches. The wifi itself is not the probelm because it works just fine on my laptop. Today I updated my software and the probelm was not resolved.
I need help sould I got to the Apple store and have them check it out?

Does the iPod have the problem with other networks?
    Do other devices work OK?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - DOes the router have the latest firmware?
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
