WiFi no longer works on iPhone 3GS after 3.1 Update

Well essentially the subject is all there is too it. I updated to iTunes 9 and iPhone OS 3.1 yesterday. I usually have wifi off at all times unless i want to use it to save battery life. I turned WiFi on and it wouldn't find my router. Any suggestions?

After upgrading Iphone 3GS to IOS 5 it does not connect to the Itunes store for updates. I am able to download apps from Icloud but when I try to update apps it gives me an error that it cannot connect to the itunes store. I tried shutting down and restoring the phone. Ring up iHome and ask them for a fix... And if they cant supply you with a fix... Then you should be entitled to a replacement or a upgrade, as firmware upgrades on your ios device should not affect audio products......

First, try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data by resetting.
If this does not help, set it up as new device, explained here:

If still no luck, get it checked by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider or contact Apple Support to get it serviced:

JBL Radial dock no longer works on iPhone 4 after iOS 5 upgrade.

JBL Radial dock no longer charges my iPhone 4 after iOS 5 upgrade however I still Can play music.
Any help on that ?

OK a bit of success over the weekend. Not sure if it will help you guys. So i have an IPHONE 3gs and it would not play any music through the JBL but it would ring (through the JBL speaker) and charge while connected.
I sync'ed through itunes and made sure i had the latest version of both itunes and the IOS on the phone. Then pushed some podcasts and albums down from my computer to the iphone through the computer.
This must have sone something as now everythign works fine. all radio and music apps now play through the JBL.

3G no longer works on iPhone 3GS

I have had my iPhone 3GS for about a year and have had no problems. When I upgraded to iOS 4.1 a few months ago, I began having problems connecting to the 3G network. When I have 3G active (from the settings panel) I have little to no connectivity (texts send only about 10% of the time, calls usually fail, and I often hear only electronic giberish when I make a call).
When I disable 3G, the EDGE network works just fine, and WiFi works either way. I tried calling AT&T and they said it was a problem with the telephone, and when I called Apple they said I needed to pay $29 to even begin diagnosing the problem.
I don't think I should have to pay to fix a problem introduced by their update. Anyone have a solution to this problem? A solution other than canceling my account and buying a blackberry from Verizon, that is, which is where I'm leaning.

I have the same issue. My 3Gs worked fine until about 6 months ago and it got progressively worse. Edge works fine but when it comes to 3G sometimes it works and a lot of times it does not work, and there does not seem to be a pattern to it at all. It even sometimes reads full bars on 3G but if you try to access anything it has no internet connectivity. If you try to make a call it just fails.
I have reset my whole phone undated all the software on the phone and iTunes. I used my SIM card with a friends 3GS phone and it worked fine. Called tech help for Rogers and they could not narrow it down but they thought it was a problem with the towers. But based on process of elimination its the phone my guess is the software of the 3G antenna. Unless someone has a solution (and it does not seem like it by reading these forums) there is no other solution other then get a new phone.

WiFi won't work on iPhone 3GS

I used to be able to connect my iPhone 3GS via WiFi to my Powerbook G4 without issue. Now, since the latest iPhone software update, I'm able to connect, but the phone reverts to the 3G network. It still indicates that I'm connected to WiFi (when looking at the WiFi setting panel) but the little WiFi icon doesn't appear - it says 3G.
I've tried resetting, reconnecting, restarting, refreshing, the iphone, but to no avail. I can't download any large files / purchases from app store unless I physically connect to itunes on my computer. No bueno. Any advice?

I frequently use a Computer-to-Computer network in order to link my iPhone 3Gs to my MBpro to use the Keynote Remote App when there is NO WIFI...this method is used to still allow iPhone to control Keynote with no wifi connection...
When I create that Comp-to-Comp network and then go into settings on iPhone to select that Comp-to-Comp it ALWAYS stays as 3G icon and not WIFI icon...
Even if I am in fact connected to my home WIFI...I tested this and created a Comp-to-Comp and as soon as I selected it and moved away from my home WIFI the icon immediately changed to 3G and yet it still controls my Keynote so I know the connection is complete...
In the previous cases you used this did that icon ever change to the WIFI???
Maybe a really obvious question...but why wouldn't you just connect the iPhone directly to the WIFI network and download the larger apps??? Why are you uisng the WIFI through a Mac laptop??
Lastly if you connect the iPhone to the Mac and allow the sync in iTunes...you can download and then update or install the new apps in iTunes while connected...

Cannot configure my iPhone 3gs after i have updated from 5.1.1 to os 6.0

hi i need some help, im using iphone 3gs, when i connect it to my mac it says theres an update to my iphone which i did install, but few minutes after its telling me that i need to restore my iPhone. i did restore it but i cannot configure it anymore, in itunes it says there is no sim card installed in the iphone that your attempting to activate.

IPhone 3GS after iOS 5 update

So, I updated my iPhone 3GS a week ago. It became a little laggy, but I think that's to be expected.
Music and Videos applications are just f-ed up right now. It was perfectly fine the day after I updated it. So, now my Music application has 13 songs, but in iTunes there are 1986 items in the music folder. In my Videos application, there are 32 video clips and 7 movies. I removed 6 of those movies in my iTunes, but they are still in my iPhone, which can't be played. Under the summary tab of my phone, I can see the capacity bar. It's currently 0.11GB of videos. I'm pretty sure that is supposed to be around 3GB. When I try to put in more music, it doesn't go in. The music I try to put in, becomes gray and has the loading circle thingy in front of it. Any help?

I seem to have pixulated pictures and graphics on my iphone 3gs after the latest update

I am having an issue with a 3gs 32 gig iphone. I have blurry or pixulated pictures and graphics. Not on everything. The pictures in my photos file are ok. Games are ok. The Map App that comes with it, can barely read the streets. Seemed to have happened after the latest update which is 4.3.3. Any ideas? Thanks

I brought my iphone 3Gs off ebay and it came unlocked to any carrier but I want to update the sorftware but i'm worried it will reverse the carrier unlock. If it does where can i go to get it unlocked again ?

ralph my iphone 3gs was legitemately unlocked yet it is still saying there is no sim card installed, what do i do??? It was initally on o2, but i got it unlocked through them, i gave it to my brother who used it on the 3 network, and i am trying to update it, had the error 6, restarted the procedure, now it says no sim card installed, even though i put in a o2 sim card to activate it... please help

My computer updated to the Windows 8.1 and I lost my WiFi and now the only network option is ethernet.... I got my lap top so I wouldn't have to sit in one location. How do I get my WiFi back????

1. The complete Model Name. or Product Number. of the notebook - see This HP web document if you don't how to locate the model number and\or product number.
Please identify the wifi adapter with its PCI\VEN code or the FCC ID from the system information tab in the BIOS. The following image is an example. Enter the Device \Manager and right click the wifi adapter and then click on properties. Post the PCI\Ven character string here in your thread.

Does anyone have an answer to this. I have already rebooted, Wiped clean the iPod and updated the software.

If you go to a Genius Bar at an Apple Store they should be able to offer you an out of warranty swap. I don't know how much replacing the iPod will cost.

IPod Touch no longer works with car stereo after 4.0 update

I updated my iPod to 4.0 a couple of days ago, and my Hyundai Santa Fe's built-in iPod interface no longer recognizes my iPod's music - it just says "empty iPod" or something of that nature. Is anyone else having this problem?? What should I do?

Add me to the list. Brand blankety-new ipod touch that after 4.0.2 wouldn't work with the Subaru-factory-installed ipod connector in my '08 STI. The shut-it-off-and-restart-in-the-car method at least made it able to play music again but still no recharging.
To add insult to injury I did the have-an-Apple-GENIUS call me thing. The first thing was that they called me....for about 1/4 of a second. The phone blipped for less than a ring and then I got an email saying, "Oh, we TRIED to reach you and you weren't there. Why don't you call us?". So I called and was immediately put on hold. When one of the geniuses finally picked up, I described the issue with great patience and his insightful answer was, "let me put you on hold while I talk to my supervisor." So I sat on hold for five minutes until...they just hung up...no answer, no, "gee we think you're SOL"....just "click". Thanks a boatload Mr. Jobs.

I dont think it was jailbreaked or anything it was unlocked when i bought it and after i did a update it wouldn't active it gets me a error saying to try again later,IMEI:01 285400 522628 3

Generally this is a sign that the iPhone had previously been
hacked/modified/jailbroken and the update relocked it to the
original wireless carrier. If this is the case, only that wireless
carrier can unlock your iPhone. You must contact them to see
if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.

What wireless carrier did you use before this problem?
Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>Carrier?
