Wifi problems with ipad 2 wifi only and ios 6
Hi, loaded ios 6 last night and wifi worked fine at home. Came into work where I have logged on fine before: Now, I connect to wifi and it connects, a login screen pops up, and then says "success". Then there is then nothing! The login screen doesn't go away and wifi icon disappears if you cancel the login screen - any ideas please?

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Problem with camera connection kit and IOS 5
Since I upgraded my IPAD 2 to IOS 5 camera connection kit is no longer working properly:
- when importing from a given CF card for the first time camera connection kit it is working with my camera (Canon EOS 7D)
- however, as soon as i take additional photos on a non-empty CF card, things start getting weird when importing:
- duplicates are no longer reliably recognized (some of the photos imported before are indicated as duplicates others not), hence an incremental upload of photos is no longer viable
- some RAW photos are corrupted during import (it shows an "RAW" icon in the photo app, but no preview and the photo cannot be enlarged)
I never had such problems with IOS 4.x I'm really frustrated about IOS 5.0 since camera conenction kit and the ability to deal with RAW photos were my main reasons to buy an IPAD...
Anybody experiencing similiar problems? Any viable workarounds?

ClaudioFriend, you say "The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces)" What if one has several hundred photos/files. Renameing them on my computer each 8 characters long adds an extension (1), (2), (3), and so on. For example, "JUNE2014(1). The connection kit won't read the photos due to the extra (1). How can I fix this without having to rename each of the hundreds of photos one by one?

Problems with iPad Music App in iOS 5
In iOS5 on my original iPad, the Music app is much more difficult to use. Right now a song is playing but I have a mostly black screen and no clear way to make the album art or lists of music visible. Any suggestions? I liked the iPod app before; this seems a major step backward.
Yes, this is how I usually do it as well, however it doesn't always behave as expected when I do what you describe in the last sentence. Instead of flipping to the white song list, it remains black and blank. The tiny album in the progress bar disappears as does the progress bar itself, however music continues to play. The buttons at the very bottom all cease to function. Only REW, PLAY/PAUSE, FWD and the volume function. Leaving the app and coming back doesn't clear it up. I have to hit the home button and then force quit the app in order to regain control. Here's a screen grab of what it looks like. Truly odd.

Does anyone else have problems with the wifi connection on their 4th generation Mine keeps going off line and its only 3 weeks old.I had the ipad mini and this problem never existed. I brought it back to the shop where i bought it Expert Laois last week and they said they couldnt find a problem but had to take it back today as it keeps disconneting from wifi still, anyway they are sending it back for repair and it am left with no ipad. After spending in excess of 700e i feel that this is really bad after sales service. I bought something that i want to use now and cant so what a waste of money it is .
Thankyou, but the shop said that they spoken to apple and that they have now changed their policy and that they do not give a replacement. So are you telling me that their information is false. Also what should they have done. This problem has existed since i bought it.????? What should i do?????

iPad mini with retina still having wifi problems with iOS 8.0.2 - slow or none. Resetting temporarily fixes problem it very annoying. Please fix Apple! Not up to scratch.
I Have followed these steps, and tried others, such as resetting all my network settings. At best these only temporarily fix the problem - wifi still becomes slow or stops. I have other Apple devices connecting fine to my airport express. why is my iPad mini not working? Is it related to the fact it is 3G and I don't have a sim card installed? It is the current top of the range model with iOS 8.0.2. I paid over the odds for the best, and it is almost completely redundant. Apple - I'm losing faith. You need to keep the public better informed and fix this problem fast, otherwise I will leave you for good.

WiFi problem with iOS 7.0.3 and iPhone 5
My iPhone 5 has been working flawlessly with iOS6. After updating it to iOS 7 I have an irritating problem with the WiFi connection at work. Everything is OK for some time, then the WiFi connection just stops working. There is a WiFi icon max signal strength icon but there's just no connection. There are usually no error messages. Safari would just spin the connectivity icon forever with nothing showing on the screen. Facebook won't load anything, etc. Unfortunately the phone won't fallback to cellular. I have to either reset it, or restart it. Sometimes just diabling-enabling WiFi works, sometimes not.
I've read a lot about this problem, it seems to be very common on 4S, however it seems I am alone to have it on 5. I've tried all the suggested solution - reset my network settings, I have even reinstalled my iPhone as a new one and not from my iOS6 backup. It doesn't help.
Note that the problem is not in our WiFi network since my iPad 3 works perfectly and has connectivity at the same time.
Having in mind this is very widespread issue on iPhone 4S which is still not fixed even in version 7.0.3, I am kind of exhausted. I've been a loyal Apple fan but if this doesn't get fix in the next iOS 7 update, I'll probably look other brands finally. It's really such a shame!You are not alone i am having same issue on my i5 ios7.0.3 but apple is still not responding on the issue several sites and even apple discussion forum is filled with this issue no major fix or trick works as what apple says in its help. waiting for apple to respond on this isuue

i have problem with my wifi in 4 S, i cant connect to any wifi itried resetting network setting and reset all setting but the result was the same, its only keeps searching for wifi and cant find any, itried to use OTHER but also didnt work.please help me???
If Join was on then your home wi-fi must be set to Non-Broadcast. If you did not set this up (maybe your provider did) then you will need to find the Network Name they used, and any password they used. The SSID is Security Set ID and to see more try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSID . Basically it is the name used to identify your router/network. A lot of times the installer will leave it set as LinkSys, or Broadcom or whatever the manufacturer set it as for default. Your best bet is to get whoever installed it to walk you through how they set it up, giving you id's and passwords so you can get in. HOWEVER, if you are not comfortable with this (if you set security wrong, etc.) you would be well ahead of the game to hire a local computer tech (networking) to get this working for you. You can also contact the vendor of your router and get help (if it is still in warranty), or at least get copies of the manuals as pdf files. Sorry I can't give you more help, I hope this gives you an idea where to go from here to find more.

I just read about the possible issue that some folks are having with their new iPad wifi (my seemed to be running very slowly but I thought that perhaps it was just me overreacting). How do I know if I have a definite problem, and what is my recourse? Do I need to take it to an Apple store for testing? I have apple care which I assume addresses stuff like this. Thoughts? Your iPad is covered by the normal warranty for one year. If you have AppleCare that extends the coverage. If you feel there is a problem with your wifi reception visit an Apple store with your iPad for a consultation. Be sure to make an appointment before you go.

Well my iphone 5 does not remember my home network. This is not a problem with the wifi router as the ipad works absolutely fine. The wifi loses it connection in just 2 minutes. So could you please fix this problem.
Not unless the modem is causing a problem.
What you want to do is get it to work reliably over Ethernet first, then tackle wifi. Power off the modem. On your macbook, delete the Ethernet configuration and the Wifi configuration. Power up the modem, then connect the mac via Ethernet. Create the new Ethernet configuration and see if you can connect. -
I'm trying to learn how to correct wifi problems with new iPad. It is the wifi only, 64GB model. I want to be able to use it at work, where we have a great wifi network. I can usually connect to our network with no problem, but after an hour or so my iPad loses the network. When I try to reconnect, I see that the network is showing full strength reception, but I get the error message from the iPad that I am "Unable to join" the network. My iPhone connects to the same network seamlessly, as do all of the other iPhones of my co-workers and the older generation iPads that some of our staff has.
At other locations, I typically have no problems (home, apple store, etc.) but I have had the same situation pop up at a coffee shop where I could see that there was a wifi network available, but I could not join it even though it was the shop's free wifi.
I have tried turning the iPad off, turning off wifi and turning it back on again, and forgetting the wifi network in question. I can't think of any other methods that are available to an end user to correct the problem.
I have already gone to the Apple store to swap out the unit, and the newer one is having the same symptoms.
Can anyone offer any advice here? This is quite frustrating.No problem! Have a read at this most interesting article which has special significance as regards your models!

Email and WiFi problems with IPad1
Yesterday, I sent out an email on my pc laptop to a group and received 5 bounce backs. When I went to my IPad to check my email account, only one bounce back appeared and after about 5 seconds, it kicked me out of email.
Today, it kicks me out after 1 second. In addition, I am no longer connected to my WiFi and the IPad cannot find a network to connect to - it's stuck in 'Choose a Network' mode. Meanwhile, my pc laptop is connected to my network and there are no problems with my WiFi.
I'm not sure where to start...Try closing the Mail app completely and the see if it works when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Mail 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A second option is to try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
My apple Tv will not airplay, this is the 3rd one i have exchanged and my devices airplay just fine elsewhere, could there be a problem with the wifi even though all of the other functions are working fine?

Problems with 8220 WiFi and battery
I'm not sure if these 2 problems are related. I've had a 8220 for 11 months and notice my battery life has really deteriorated the last few days. at the same time accessing WiFi from my phone is not as reliable. I know there is no problem with my Wifi as I have no problem accessing it from my laptop from the same connection.
Is this problem related to my battery? or are there other ways to improve WiFi connections from my 8220.
thanksI had exactly the same problem with WiFi calls (see my old posts on dropped calls). I tested my phone in another WiFi location (in a coffee shop) and didn't have problems. Even though my computer recognized the signal, my phone dropped the calls. I changed my router and verified that all phones jacks (except the router) were using DSL filters. Since then, the problem disappeared (except when I synch music).
When outside, the phone will periodically drop calls moving between WiFi and edge networks. However, I usually turn off the WiFi network anyway to conserve batteries. While at home, the WiFi connection is more reliable if I turn off the edge network so the phone stays on WiFi and doesn't look for another network. By default, I set my preferences to WiFi at home, so even if I forget to turn off the edge network, it still looks for WiFi.
