WiFi unable to find requested server...

I have an 8120 Pearl and I successfully connected to my home WiFi network. But, whenever i try to access a website, google.com for example, I'm getting "unable to find the requested server". I don't have a BB data plan, but I shouldn't need one when using wifi, so what could it be? I have security enabled WPA and I'm able to connect using my iPhone and 3 laptops... does WPA have anything to do with it?
The browser is set to hotspot browser and also here are my wifi diagnostics:
WiFi
Current Profile: HZ_wifi
SSID: HZ_wifi
Security Type: Pre-Shared Key (PSK)
Local IP Address: 192.168.1.4
Signal level: -49dBm
Connection Data Rate: 48Mbps
Status: Network acquired
I've tried power cyclying the router and that didn't help, I am able to connect via wifi on my friends network so it can't be the phone, and its not the router, i can only think its that the two are incompatible, could this be the case?

I do have the exact problem with my bold, I have my laptop and a nokia phone connected to home wi-fi and both working perfectly.
the issue with the bold is that it connects to the wi-fi network but it works only for few minutes and then the browser says: "Unable to find requested server" and the Wi-fi mark changes to gray after i was able to visit few sites. i dont have or intend to have a data plan as I have access to Wi-fi connection almost all the time. I have tried resetting the router and it didn't work. Any one with the right solution???

  • Unable to find requested server

have a contract with a data plan but when I try to use my wifi at home it says that I am connected but when I go to the internet brower it tells me "Unable to find requested server". This only happends on my wifi at home. My other devices work without a problem on my home wifi. What do I need to do to get my Blackberry Torch 9800 to work off from my home wifi?

I had this problem untl I setup a Hom Network that included my smartphone which shows up with it's own separate IP address. My office PC is the host and it is ethernet or wired network. I have 2 wire gateway wifi modem and all is supported by my carrier. I feel confident if you contact your ISP and ask for help in setting up a Home Network your problem will be solved. Btw, make sure your wireless Customer Service is informed by their Internet Service Support and by yourself. Good luck

  • I keep getting 'unable to find requested server' while trying to go on internet

I bought the Blackberry curve last week and have had pblms connecting to home wi fi.  I have it all set up and the fone recognises the wi fi on it and only let me connect once to the wi fi. After that it keeps coming up with the message - unable to find requested server - even though it did work once the first time after I had set up the wi fi wizard.  I had put in the key.  Can someone help please.

    Hi gerrybl,
    Welcome to the Suppport Forums!
Can you provide more information please?
Do you have a data plan with your wireless provider that includes internet browsing?
Are you able to complete all the steps in this blog post to connect to Wi-Fi? http://bbry.lv/oXh7oV
Are you able to connect to any other Wi-Fi networks or Hotspots?
    Thanks,

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Can you clarify please? You say you cannot connect to servers, then you say WiFi is perfect. Then you say it was OK until yesterday. So I am confused about what you are attemting to do...is it via WiFi or via your carrier data network connection?
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

  • Unable to find requested surver

    Please help.
every time i try to browse the web at home on my curve 9300 with wifi i get the error message 'unable to find requested surver' if i turn wifi off then i can browse with no problems, i have a data plan and have tried the following:-
    1, hard device re-boot
    2, downgrade to previous software
    3, reset my home router
4, turned off wifi, deleted my connection, re-boot then reconnect.
i have also checked trouble shooting and found that 'Blackberry infrastructure' has a connecting error.
im starting to pull what little hair i have left from my head so if anyone can help it would be very much appreciated.

Nothing to panic. If you have a data plan and no wifi connections are in range, then your device uses the data service from network operator. If you have any wifi connections within the range, device automatically start using WIFI instead of data service from service provider.
But don't try to turn off "Data Services" and try to access internet using WIFI coz it doesn't work.
Always Blackberry uses WIFI connection first(If available) and then Data service from Network service provider based on availability.

  • I received a message to upgrade my Firefox version . It went to successful completion but I get a message unable to find proxy server?

After updating to latest version of Firefox i am unable to access internet. Get message Unable to find proxy server. This update also disable internet explorer so I cannot use it to access either. The desktop that I am having trouble with is running Windows XP Professional.

hi, please check in the firefox ''menu ≡ > options > advanced > network > connection - settings...'' if firefox is set up to directly connect to the internet ('no proxy').
and maybe also run a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and different tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes], [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner] & [http://www.kaspersky.com/security-scan kaspersky security scan].

  • Error 1013000 loading application: Unable to Create Request Server Thread

We are currently getting the following error "Error 1013000 loading application: Unable to Create Request Server Thread" when attempting to load more than 5 applications onto our new Essbase server. The O/S is Windows 2003 and we are running Essbase 6.5.5. Our old server, running Windows 2000, is not experiencing this problem.

I think I've found the problem! It seems the server team didn't set up the swap file, hence, when physical memory started to run a little low on the box, the thread could not be created. FYI, we had already increased the SERVERTHREADS option in the Essbase.cfg file.

  • Error message - Unable to find proxy server - how can I solve this problem

When I try to enter some sites I get the error message: Unable to find the proxy server, Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that can't be found. This happened suddenly and I'm not sure why or how I can fix it, it doesn't help that most help site are blocked. Im using a Mac 10.5.8 and Firefox 15.

You can check the connection settings.
    *Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network : Connection > Settings
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Options+window+-+Advanced+panel
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.
    See "Firefox connection settings":

  • WRT160N V2 - Web Browser unable to find home server using server name, IP address OK.

Hi, I have just got a WRT160N V2, it is working fine apart from one irritating issue. I am unable to browse a web server running on my local network by the computers (servers) name. If I use the IP address it works fine. Viewing my shared files and folders  with Windows Explorer using servers name also works fine. The problem seems to be limited to web browsers, I have tried Internet Explorer and Chrome, neither can find the server using its name, using IP address they can. I have checked NetBIOS settings on all connected computers and they are ok. If I switch back to my old Netgear router the problem goes away. So, it seems it's something specific the the WRT160N. This isn't a huge issue as I can fix by adding a line in the Hosts file. I just wondered if this is a known issue?
    Many Thanks
    Ian

The first thing that you can try is upgrading the firmware of the router..
Reset the router for 30 sec , reconfigure the router again and then try to setup the web browser for the server.

  • Safari unable to find Hotmail server

    I am about to scream.
First, my Mail application on my MacBook kept saying that all of my email account's passwords were incorrect. Once I thought I had tackled that problem yesterday by visiting each email site to ensure my password was, in fact, correct, I get on my computer today to discover that my Hotmail account in the Mail app is unable to be connected. I try, then, to visit Hotmail/Outlook's website, and I keep receiving the error: "Safari can't find the server." I am trying to post a question/concern on Outlook's Support Boards, but that requires me to log in, and the "Can't find server" error keeps coming up.
Is there something wrong with my computer, or is Hotmail/Outlook down for today? My important emails are sent to that account, so if it is something I can fix, please let me know ASAP. Thank you.

See if Open DNS helps ..   Apple recommends it here > Safari 5.0.1 or later: Slow or partial webpage loading, or webpage cannot be found
Open System Preferences > Network > Advanced > DNS
    Click + and type:
    208.67.222.222
Click + again and do the same.
    208.67.220.220
    Click OK.
Quit and relaunch Safari then try accessing your Hotmail account.
If Safari can access your account, then you should be able to via the Mac Mail account as well.

Only "SAP" was visible and all the components could not be found. But all the files are there..can anyone suggest me what could be the problem and what should be done to rectify it.

    Hi Uma,
Open your SAP MMC and from menu option select file->add/remove snapin...
Click on add button and then select "SAP Systems manager".
Click next on the next screen and then specify System ID, Instance (as hostname instanceNumber) and then click on add button.
It will add this system in the list in sapmmc.

  • PGP Unable To Find Universal Server Keys

Recently we have been coming across an issue with PGP on our blackberries. Basically PGP becomes unable to locate any keys from our universal server. It therefore defaults to plain text and sends the message in clear. If the user then manually selects ‘PGP sign and encrypt’ it searches for a few seconds then says it cannot find the relevant key.
It has happened multiple times for different users/handsets with no real indication or pattern to it. The users have all had the devices working perfectly for different periods of time; Some a couple of weeks, others nearly 2 years. The issue doesn’t always get resolved the same way. For example on some occasions the issue seems to fix itself without any intervention, other times it requires clearing of the cache and then re-downloading the keys (sometimes multiple times with battery pulls inbetween). If that doesn’t work then a re-activation with the BES server tends to do the trick. Just to clarify, the BES server is working beautifully in every other aspect.
If anyone has come across this problem before and knows of either a one-stop solution for this issue or even better some way of preventing it from occurring that would be most appreciated

  • Unable to find activation server

Just had my phone unlocked and then upgraded the O/S on my 3GS. Now I cannot activate it for some reason. Called Apple support who now say there is nothing they can do, however for £126 they will gladly sell me a replacement phone.
They it is my choice to upgrade the OS, therefore my issue if it doesn't work. Is this a scam?

It makes a difference because some hacks / jailbreaks can alter the phone in such a way as to render it unable to activate if the phone is restored or updated.
The only thing you can do that might get it working is find out what carrier it is locked to and contact them regarding a legitimate unlock.
You don't say how, exactly, you got it unlocked.
If you did have it legitimately unlocked and it still won't activate, then you may as well sell it for scrap and buy a new one.
