Would you happen to know if it will work in a mid 2007 iMac running Mavericks with 4GB of RAM? I need this to last this year and next year I am buying my MacPro, anyway, I dont want to put all the work in to installing it if its not going to work, thanks for any help!

Can the Samsung 840 EVO Series MZ-7TE1T0 1TB be used in place of the internal hard disk in a MacBook Pro 17" Late 2011?

The samsung is compatible with your laptop, no problem with that. But your plan of installing 2 disks has some disadvantages.
First of all, there is no space for two 2.5'' disks inside the T430s (70mm disks are referred to as 2.5''). You will have to remove the DVD-RW and install a caddy. Inside the caddy you can install one of the disks. It's not difficult or expensive but you will lose the DVD drive.
Second, why would you buy a 1TB SSD for storage??? It would cost you sometning like 600 euros while for 80 euros you could buy any 1TB mechanical disk and it would be more than fast enough for storage. SSDs are meant for the operating system and programs and there they make a big difference. But anyway, if you have lots of money to burn, why not?
There is another solution though, much more sensible i think. Your T430s can accept mSata SSDs. They come in the form of add-on cards, much like ram modules, and they are installed in the interior of the laptop. Take a look here and here. You can buy a 256GB mSata SSD for around 200 euros and install your OS and programs there, leaving the 2.5" compartment available to install a big 1TB mechanical disk for storage. This way you get to keep your DVD drive as well.

Samsung SSD 840 EVO not detected in MacBook Pro 2012.

In January I had a problem with my computer where it would overheat, the battery would die quickly, and the overall computer speed was slower than a turtle for even the most basic functions. I brought my computer to a MacMan retailer and they fixed the issue. I then got my MBP back and it worked fine for about a month. It then repeated the same symptoms it had before I got it fixed. I talked to my roommate and did some research and ended up purchasing the Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250gb to replace my Hard Drive.
I transferred all my data to the new SSD and then installed the SSD to the internal bay where the hard drive sits without any problems. After the SSD was in place I booted up the computer and I got a "flashing folder with question mark." The SSD was not internally recognized by my computer. I then tried to put my Hard Drive back in to see if it would be recognized and it was not. However, both the SSD and Hard Drive are externally recognized via USB enclosure. I have been working on this for a couple days and am getting frustrated.
I have tried a number of fixes I thought would surely work. I reformatted the SSD to the appropriate Mac format that every forum and website recommend: Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and that does not work. I have reinstalled OS X Yosemite, I have tried updating the SSD Firmware through USB. Nothing has worked yet. I have tried using Apple's internet recovery system and neither drive is recognized when inside the computer. My best assumption but least favorable is the Cable within the MacBook Pro that connects to the Hard Drive/SSD is faulty. I fear that it may be faulty since now neither the SSD or Hard Drive is detected when they are installed in the MacBook Pro, only when external.
Can anyone please help me figure out what could be wrong? If you need more information just ask and I will do my best to answer them to your satisfaction. Anyone input, conclusion, or direction would be greatly appreciated!

You have already defined the probable cause, the internal SATA cable. For verification, take the MBP to an Apple store genius bar for a FREE evaluation. It is not an expensive repair, even if done by Apple.

Replaced the hard drive in my Dell 1545 laptop with a Samsung SSD 840 EVO.
Everything beautiful.
Am running Windows 8.1 - again everything beautiful.
Thought I would run "System Image Backup" (off the File History page).
failed - Microsoft error code 0x80780119
because Samsung Migration tool created a first partition labeled "data"
(don't know whose data this might be suspect it has nothing to do with the OS but is required for the SSD, perhaps for MBR boot purposed.)
This "data" partition is very small and 99% full: no room for the VSS backup requires.
Bypassed that problem with:
PS C:\> wbAdmin start backup -backupTarget:H: -include:C:\
which runs perfectly, except for the warning,
" Note: the list of volumes included for backup does not include all the volumes that contain operating system components. This backup cannot be used to perform a system recovery. However. you can recover other items if the destination media type Supports
it."

My MacBook hard drive is full again. I have a 13in. Aluminum, Late 2008 MacBook, and about 18 months ago (in October 2013), I replaced the original hard drive with a Samsung SSD 840 Pro Series 256GB hard drive. However, my MacBook is now already saying that my hard drive is full again. When I check "System Information," under "Storage," it states the following: Audio 52.02 GB; Movies 33.68GB; Photos 43.13GB; Apps 14.76 GB; Backups 174.4 MB; and Other 96.39GB.
Also, at home, I have an Apple Time Capsule 4th Generation 2TB that I use as my wireless router, and I also use it for automatic backup via Time Machine. And when I first purchased Time Capsule, the first time I connected Time Capsule, Time Machine asked if I would like to use it to back up my files, and I clicked, "Use as Backup Disk." And that's really all I've ever done with Time Capsule.
In addition, I also have a LaCie Porsche Design P'9223 1TB external hard drive. I have copied my MacBook's hard drive onto my LaCie external hard drive.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Obviously the Audio, Movies, Photos, and Apps are taking up a lot of space... Any suggestions re: what I can do with Audio, Movies, Photos, and Apps? And what about the Other? Other is taking up 96.39 GB. What is Other, and what can I do about it?

Partitioning makes no sense. You have a drawer full of stuff. Split it into two smaller drawers and you have two smaller drawers full of stuff.
Decide what you can store on external storage - your iPhoto/Aperture/Lightroom libraries can all be stored on externals, as can your iTunes Libraries and so on. Do you need to carry 30 gigs of movies with you all the time? You can get portable drives the size of an iPhone these days.

Yes up until last fall/winter the 840 EVO was fine, I have half a dozen ranging from 128GB up to 500GB and they work fine.
In the past I ended up using the Sonnet card just for data (graphic library for Adobe and iPhoto) and not the system.
Options are always good to have.

I ordered a CTO Mac Pro for heavy rendering and animating work, and I am planning on using bootcamp to install a windows partition (for 3DsMax). As I am now using a HP Elitebook 8770W that has several valuable files and projects on it, I have bought a Seagate 4Tb external Desktop Drive that uses USB 3.0 to use as a backup drive. Now, as I saw that Bootcamp Assistant only supports installing a x64 version of Windows 8, my question is:
Will a late 2013 Mac Pro using bootcamp assistant boot from an external USB drive with a cloned partition running x64 win7? Or do I really have to buy Windows 8 and install that to my internal SSD, and then use the migration assistant to copy over my projects?

BCA should really just pull whatever the latest drivers are when run.
If it is with how it partitions and sets up nMP and its partition for Windows that is another matter and makes sense.
Some people want UEFI native booting in Windows, and my experieince with that on PCs has been that it boots faster and runs well, but has different partitions that it wants. For one thing, there is now a backup "system reserved" partition, just as Apple GUID has some volume information blocks and backup and areas that were once optional (and if format erase was not able to, it would not create one) are now mandatory.
Windows 8.1 is req'd, reason a backup should be a big must - is it might overwrite and use another OS's partition table entries. Especially when doing UEFI install.
There was something about which linux OS was safe and how they would each add entries in the table, but one would not place nice. That one had to be done first or not at all.

I've done 6 so far and no problems at all; formatting, installing nothing. Total no brainer. I did have a small formatting problem on my last one but I called them and solved the problem before the guy got on the phone. He immediately offered a return sticker (RMA) but I didn't need it and the MBP is running fine.

Purely with respect to "perceived" performance, the single biggest thing in your list would be the SSD. The i7 will give you slightly better performance than the i5 options... but they are all excellent processors. However, with the size of the files you'll likely be working with either now or in the future, a larger rotational hard drive may be a better option than a faster SSD. After installing CS5, your Microsoft apps, and what ever projects you may be working on... 128GB can fill up quickly. Mind you... an SSD will make your system seem super fast. Another option would be to go with the SSD and keep your work on an external hard drive. However, this would sort of defeat the purpose of having an SSD as your largest (and longest loading) files will still be on a slower hard drive.
If you're set on an i7... then there isn't much debate there. 8GB would be a great option for the work you're doing. The only issue is the drive and you really just have to weigh the benefits of each and consider how you'll be using it.

Other than Apple there are only two vendors with which I have personal experience and can recommend: Crucial and OWC. People have reported problems with many other brands, yet Crucial and OWC's prices are as good as any you are likely to find.
Go to Crucial and download the little app that examines your system and recommends RAM upgrade options.
Their prices are good but don't have to buy memory from them - determine what you need and buy it from Crucial or OWC / MacSales.
