Will AcroAppClass,CAcroPDDoc and GetJSObject works for Adobe Reader

Short Description: I got the licence from adobe for creating a plugin for Adobe Reader and I want to know whether AcroAppClass,CAcroPDDoc and GetJSObject can be used , to make my plugin work in the machine , if only Adobe Reader is installed .
If the Answer is 'NO' , Whats the method or the way for getting the text from the PDF(Active document).

Irosenth , i first thank for your reply which made me not to use these methods.
As u said , i am using Plugin methods for extracting the text . i.e ,
void PDWordFinderAcquireWordList(PDWordFinder wObj, ASInt32 pgNum, PDWord* wInfoP, PDWord** xySortTable, PDWord** rdOrderTable, ASInt32* numWords)
This Method Finds all words on the specified page and returns one or more tables containing the words.
The above method work for reader , right ??
Now , i need one more help from you .
After extracting the text from pdf , i have to get the positions of those text and i have to highlight certain text.
I searched for highlighting the text in pdf for reader. But i didn get any methods that is supported in reader.
Please help me out with some direction or code sample which does the following,
a. Method for reading/getting/finding the position of the extracted text ,
b. Method for Highlighting Certain text in pdf.

  • Web Dynpro dropdown doesn't work for Adobe Reader 8

    Hi All,
I've developed a Web Dynpro project which uses Interactive form.
The form has a dropdown (simple type from WDJ).
The dropdown works for Adobe Reader 7 but doesn't work for Adobe Reader 8 (when I press the arrow to open the list nothing happens).
Do I need to config/install something for supporting Adobe Reader 8?
    I'm using J2EE 7.13.
    Thanks,
    Omri

    Dear Omri,
Make sure that you are using Adobe Reader 8.1.1.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Anto.

  • Xfdf and pdf works in Adobe Reader 6, but not with new versions 7, 8, X

I have a xfdf file which is created by querying a SQL data base and contains data for a pdf form; it works with Adobe Reader 6, but does not work with new versions of Adobe Readers (7, 8, 9 and X).
It is an intranet site running IIS 6.0 in Windows Server 2003 Web Edition SP2 with Adobe 6 installed and client systems include XPSP2, XPSP3, Vista, Windows 7 with different versions of IE, Firefox.
With new versions of Adobe Reader, click on the hyperlink launched the pdf form in a browser window without data; below is the link:
            // create shipping slip hyperlink
            string strLtrSlipUrl = "~/Archive/LtrShipSlip.pdf#FDF=" + lblWO.Text + "LtrShipSlip" + ".xfdf";
            HyperLink hlLtrShipPdf = new HyperLink();
            hlLtrShipPdf.Text = "Ltr Shipping Slip";
            hlLtrShipPdf.NavigateUrl = strLtrSlipUrl;
            hlLtrShipPdf.Target = "_blank";
            pnlLtrShipSlip.Controls.Add(hlLtrShipPdf);
I have installed new versions of Adobe Reader in the Web server (to match what the clients are using), but results are the same – blank pdf.
I uninstalled the new versions and installed version 6 and the pdf and xfdf worked happily together, but we need new versions of Adobe Reader in the client computers.
Thanks for helps and suggestions – I have read articles about using iTextSharp to create pdf documents from .NET apps, but that would be my last choice.

Adobe Reader 9 can't save the old FDA forms. FDA must update their forms.

  • Will there be  iOS 8 Extension for Adobe Reader application in the upcoming version

Will Adobe reader iOS app  provide extension which would allow to edit the pdf.So that we do not need to copy the file into the reader, instead we would use extension to edit the file.

Thank you for your feedback. I cannot speculate on future releases, but we will take your feedback into consideration.

  • APIs for Adobe Reader to get the x, y co-ords,width,height of all elements (text/image) in a PDF doc

    Hi all,
I have written a Acrobat plugin using  PDFEdit APIs to extract x, y co-ordinates, width and height of all  elements(objects) in a PDF document.
Now, I wanted to make the same working on Adobe Reader.I have added the READER_PLUGIN macro enabled in Project settings.
When I re-compiled the code, I got a bunch of errors saying all PDFEdit APIs are not available under Adobe Reader.
My  objective is to parse through the entire PDF document and get x, y  co-ordinates, width, height of all PDF objects (especially Image and  Text objects).
Can anybody help me how to achieve this ?
    Thanks
    Prasanth

I know that we cannot obtain the PDEContent of a PDF page from Adobe Reader, as PDEContent is modifiable content and as such it cannot be accessible from Adobe Reader.
Also, as PDFEdit API's does not work for Adobe Reader, we are trying to figure out a way to achieve this for Adobe reader.
I am curious to know if the COS APIs can help us in this task.
I tried to read the stream content using PDPageStmGetToken API. I get the data of this format:
    344.88 0 0 91.44 71.882 41.92cm
Here, as per PDF reference, I am getting only distance from X Axis and distance from Y Axis. But not width and height.
Can you knidly let us how to get the image attributes (primarly read only attributes like x and y co-ordinates, width and heoght) with Cos APIs.
    Thanks
    Prasanth

  • Does anybody work for adobe in here

does anybody work for adobe in here or does adobe hope that
software users will do there job for them like many companies
do,they sell a product and let people go out and spend more
cash on books and stuff to learn it(Which makes these companies
more money by you buying these books) cause every help forum i have
seen no company member excauly helps people but only people who
have bought the sofware. so i wracken let adobe get off there
a.r.s.e and spend time going through forums and really helping
people with there problem but that would cost money and companies
dont spend money they only like to make it

    > There's nothing wrong with them
    1. From time to time, they do not synchronize posts in from
    the NNTP
forums, so we (here) are left shouting into the wind "NO NO
    NO DON'T DO
    THAT!"
    2. The interface between the two mangles (and then truncates)
    pasted code,
so that it's impossible to decipher, and with a long post,
    it's just not
    usable.
    3. The paste link function doesn't pass across the interface
    *at all* - so
that's why you often see us asking for a link to the page
    even when the OP
    says "I did already".
    4. The EDIT post function doesn't propate those edits to the
    NNTP side,
    frequently leading to rampant confusion.
    5. Question answered option doesn't work for NNTP.
    6. The page refreshes are very slow, sometimes interminably
    so.
    7. The interface is busy to the point of significant user
    confusion.
But other than that they are fine... 8(
    > Ultimately the newsreader messages have to come from and
    go to a forum.
No - ultimately it has to come from and go to a database.
    These problems
are not insoluble - they are just not important to the bottom
    line. Ergo,
    we all suffer with them....

  • What Apple app works for adobe flash player?

On christmas i bought my iPad 3G+wi fi, my first dissapoint was to play in internet adobe flash video in two  sites www.tuparada.com and www.integridadysabiduria.org, appstore recommends some apps equivalent to adobe flash, i tried  Skyfire ($4.95) but it doesn't work, and i lost my money because Skyfire said  they can not refund because Apple doesn' has policy refund, anyway my core cuestión is : how can i play  internet vídeos which request adobe flash player.?

I think Apple   should probably have to take most seriously this problem,  because this kind of video is high popular , besides retailers do not quote the warning that we will not be allowed to play this type of video

There is no guaranteed solution for the iPad as flash is not and probably never will be supported.
Apart from Skyfire there a browser apps such as iSwifter, Puffin and Photon which 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites.

  • Will Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Standard Work With Adobe Reader 8.2.4?

    Hello,
I have a question, but haven't found an answer to this yet.
Can anyone tell me please:  Will Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Standard work with Adobe Reader 8.2.4?
I had Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard on my computer & it was working with Adobe Reader 8, but don't remember what the version it was.
I was using Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard to scan very old family pictures & documents & I realize that this version of Acrobat is outdated.
To make a long story short, my computer had crashed, so we built another computer & just replaced the hard drive.  When I went to Adobe, I had to download the newer version of Reader 9.0 & it didn't work with Acrobat 6.0., so I removed Adobe Reader 9 & I found Adobe Reader 8.0 & have downloaded the patches, so now I have Adobe Reader 8.2.4 back on board.
    Thank you.

Adobe doesn't recommend any version of Reader with any version of Acrobat on Windows. It will cause problems. It just is a matter of how and when. The problem has to do with shared resources causing conflicts. If you have Acrobat 8, you can update it to Acrobat 8.2.4. You must apply the updates sequentially.

  • File and folder permissions for Adobe Photoshop CS5

    Good day,
I am an IT specialist and I work for a Canadian governement agency and we are having an issue with Photoshop CS5. After successfully installing Photoshop CS5 from the Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium set(using a local machine administrator account), Photoshop crashes immidiatly after launching it(even with the local administrator account). The exact error message is as follows:
The instruction at "0x230dad8dc" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program
I know this is an environement issue and not an application or hardware issue since I was able to successfully install and run Adobe Photoshop CS5 on a plain vanilla install of Windows SP3 XP on the same model of workstation(HP DC7800). This later also confirms it is not a RAM or video adapter issue either. My experience tells me it would be more related to file/folder permissions on the workstation(although I'm open to other suggestions).  Because we are a governement agency, our workstations have machine and user policies and desktop configurations that get applied to the workstations automatically upon joining our domain via GPOs and SMS. Certain system files and folder permissions may be locked down for security reasons therefor I was wondering is someone has a list of files and folders that Adobe CS5 needs access to upon startup in order to properly function?
If anyone would like more details or information please let me know and I'll try to be more specific.
Thanks in advance to all who take the time to read and help out!

I appreciate that you're trying to surmise what's different, and it's good that you have had success with similar/identical hardware.  At least you know it can work.
However, I wouldn't bet just yet that it's a permissions issue.  I'd think you should get a specific error if a locked-down file needed to be accessed, not a null pointer crash.  The Photoshop installer should be setting up the proper permissions on its own files for it to run.
Is it exactly the same video card as the other computer, on which Photoshop works?
Are you sure the video drivers are up to date with the same version as on the other computer?
At exactly what point during startup does the failure occur (i.e., is the splash screen showing, and what does the status line in the splash screen say it's doing)?

  • Anybody know where I can find tutorials and training materials for Adobe Output Designer

    Hi everybody,
I am a graphic / web designer and newly appointed on a project requiring Adobe Output Designer skills. Now, I've already searched in a lot of places: but still couldn't find a reliable source of tutorials and training materials for Adobe Output Designer.
    Can anybody help?
    thanks a lot in advance,

The DJI cameras were first supported in ACR 8.3 and more support added in ACR 8.4:
    Lens profile support | Lightroom 5, 4, 3 | Photoshop CS6, CS5 | Camera Raw 8, 7, 6
You will need PS-CS6 or PS-CC or PSE12 with current updates on OSX 10.7.x or Windows 7+ to use this version of ACR.
However, even if you have an older version of PS or older OS, if you can install the Adobe DNG Converter, you can copy these lens profiles to the User's lens profile folder and they might be seen.  I can give more specific instructions about doing this if you are unable to update PS's ACR to 8.3/8.4.
