  • Hi, I have an Ipad 2 and am planning a trip to Budapest,Hungary,  I have Verizon,  will I be able to use the Ipad 2 in Budapest?

    Hi
I have an IPAD 2 and am planning a trip to Budapest, Hungary,  I use Verizon,  will I be able to use the Ipad 2  in Budapest?  Thank you.

And you can of course use the iPad itself for any function that does not require an Internet connection. You can only use a cell network if Verizon has CDMA partners in Hungary, which I believe they do not have.

Most hotels, resort, hostel & motel in Europe provide power plug adapter if you forget to bring one or couldn't get them, no worries.
Also, most countries you are going do sell travel adapted in Apple Store & Apple Resellers.
In addition, almost all international airport sell them as well if you plan to do a last minute shopping.
By the way, you can lease or rent SIM / Micro-SIM card for your iPad in case you have an unlocked 3G model.
    Rates are pretty reasonable.
This will allow you to Tweet/FB and download all your travel photos.

  • Will I be able to use a ipad 2 3g bought in korea in the US?

I wanted to know if I buy a ipad 2 3g device in Korea,
If I will be able to use verizon to get 3g with it.

There are two models of 3G ipad: CDMA and GSM. GSM is the mobile standard used over most of the planet, and CDMA is what Verizon uses. As far as I recall, South Korea is one of the few countries that's totally CDMA.
So, a South Korean 3G CDMA iPad will work on the Verizon network (and no other) in the US.

    Hi,
I have iWork '06 on my Mac (running OS 10.6.8). Will I be able to use the Keynote files it produces with the Keynote iPad app?
    Thanks,
    Mark

You probably can open the Keynote '06 files with Keynote for iOS but not the other way around. Files created by the iOS iWork apps can only be opened by iWork '09 apps on the Mac.

Yes, but you will need a valid mailing address in the US as well as a US payment method, either a US credit card or a US-issued iTunes card, to purchase. And you probably won't be able to update any such apps once you get back to Libya since you're not allowed to use the US iTunes Store from outside of its country.

  • If I purchase an iPad "cellular" in Japan will I be able to use a data plan in the US upon returning?

I am currently in Japan for the next year. If I purchase an iPad and sign up for a data plan will I be able to use it in the United States when I return? By that I mean, will I be able to sign up for a data plan in the US with Verizon, AT&T?

should find most of what you are looking for.  I have set the second shortcut to the link to  Area coverage, need the same for your area with the verizon link.  The driver chip sets are not interchangeable so get the model that will reflect the level of service you are looking for, suitable for your US location.
you should also look up references to AT and T and Verizon's use of shared infrastructure resources, one offers more than the other in terms of roaming.

  • I want to buy the new iPad in America with 4G, but I moving to Australia permanently. Will I be able to use any 4G networks once they are supported in Australia?

Actually it depends on the Bandwidth of the network they will be using. You can see a list of tech specs on the iPad website.

  • Will I be able to use my 3g ipad 2 while I am abroad?

I am studying in Italy this coming fall.  I have recently bought an ipad 2 with 3g and wifi.  I want to use it to facetime while i am abroad.  Is this possible? also will i be able to use the maps app?

I just wanted to mention that if you do by chance have the verizon CDMA model, you could work around by purchasing a mobile wifi hotspot device and carrying that around with you in your bag/pocket.  The mobile hotspot device would work off the 3G network in Italy and your iPad would work off the wifi hotspot you create
I am abroad at the moment in a country where data is expensive so I have a mobile hot spot device that is half the size of my iphone and I can connect up to 5 devices to it.  It cost about $150 USD.  I put a local 3G sim in it and purchased a local unlimited data plan and then use it with my iPhone, MacBook and iPad.
When I travel to the UK, I just get a pay as you go iPad data plan/sim card directly in the iPad usually but next week I'm going and I will try to see what they have for my mobile hotspot device (mifi) as I am enjoying managing all of my data on one bill/cost!
Having said all this...I guess the better solution would be just to use your 3G phone (android or iphone) to create the hotspot but for whatever reason I couldn't manage that so I just bought the device I have...I am sure someone else techie would be able to elaborate on that suggestion...

  • I'm headed to Europe in a month with an iPad 2 w/ATT 3G. Will I be able to use the 3G without excess roaming fees?

I'm headed to Europe in a month with an iPad 2 w/ATT 3G. Will I be able to use the 3G without excess roaming fees?

I have just been back from Germany. Using GPRS/EDGE or 3G Roaming will certainly incur additional cost to you.  However, there are many service providers in Europe with different 3G using rates/KB and minimum KB usage per log-in.  Check price before you log-in to any network.
Recommend to check 1) your local mobile operator for Roaming promotion in Europe or 2) buy International SIM from your country with very lower cost of calling, receiving calls, and using data (I am not sure your country has these kind of service provider).
