"I WANT to upgrade to 10.8.1 Mountain Lion"
You can't. Mountain Lion is only at 10.8.0.

I was using 8.0.1 but find that ABBY FineReader Express is much more stable.

  • Will Mountain Lion work with old models of Time Capsule?

I was using an online backup service but it slowed down my machine so I want to go to an external drive backup. I have upgraded to Mountain Lion and I am thinking of purchasing an older version of Time capsule for my backups. My question is will mountain lion work with older models of Time Capsule? thanks so much.....

Yes. I have a first generation Time Capsule and it works fine.
Just make sure you buy at least 3 times the GB you are trying to backup. More is better.

  • Will Mountain Lion work on my 4 year old iMac with Intel Core 2 Duo   Processor Speed:     2.66 GHz

Will Mountain Lion work on my 4 year old iMac with Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a 2.66 gHz.
Really do not want to load it and find there are issues.
Oh I really not a big tech guy I just want everything to work well.
And I'm just about to purchase a Mac Book Pro as well.
Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated
    Cheers

I also have a 4 year old iMac 24". it is the 3.06 GHz Core 2 Duo. I have been running Mountain Lion since it was released, and before that Lion. Runs great. Over the last month I have noticed some slow data transfers from a USB harddrive. But not enough to do any research. I use a USB harddrive for my Time Machine backup and notice no problems or slow transfers while the Time Machine backup runs. My iTunes has its nedia files on a USB harddrive and is used to watch videos, play music and share photos on the AppleTV. I also use Aperture on the iMac to store and manage 20,000 photos.
I have 6 GB of ram, 4GB and 2GB memory sticks. I know it is best to have identical ram sticks but my iMac model cannot run 8GB of ram and I feel 6GB is better than 4GB.
Mountain Lion is a great OS and I am glad I upgraded. It works great with the AppleTV (no airplay but iTunes on the iMac serves up all our music, photos and videos), iPhone, and iPod Touch. Also with my wifes brand new Macbook Pro. All the devices including the iMac can share data on iCloud.

  • HT1338 Im thinking of getting Logic Pro X but will Mountain Lion work ?

    Hi There,
    How's it going?
Will Mountain Lion Work on my MacBookPro 15"  Nov. 2006 ya 7 years old now. works great but lacking the power of a new Mac.
    Im running 10.7.5 now Lion
The Processor is a 2.33 GHZ
and I have 2 GB of Memory
    750 GB WD Hard Drive
    Intel Core 2 Duo
    so thats 64 bit ...right?
    Thanks Apple fans.
    Bryski

Your MacBook is 64-bit, but it's not compatible with OS X Mountain Lion which requires a Mid/Late 2007 or newer MacBook Pro. See > http://www.apple.com/osx/specs
Logic Pro X needs OS X 10.8.4 or newer, so you can't install Logic Pro X in your MacBook. You can find all the requirements for Logic Pro in this website > https://www.apple.com/logic-pro/specs/

  • Will an iMac mini and mountain lion work with a touch screen monitor?

I was wondering if Mountain Lion would work with a touch screen monitor. I have a project in mind and this is a key part to the equation. If any one could help this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I do Not know for certain, but from my understanding, touch screen interfaces require that the OS version used to drive them be "designed" from the beginning to operate within that environment.  Obviously, at this point OS X has Not been designed to function that way (non of the Mac's using it work that way); although the mobile version, iOS 6, used in iPhones and iPads was indeed designed from scratch to operate that way.  So one day sometime down the road it's possible that OS X too will share this ability.  But not yet.
    Hope this helps

  • Will Mountain Lion work on my laptop?

I have an early 2011 13-inch Macbook Pro, currently running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. I have heard of similar models installing ML but running really hot and the fans going crazy. Is this an issue that has been sorted out? I'm interested in ML but i'll pass if it's going to mean my computer will run significantly worse.
    Thanks.

I don't understand what you mean about putting an image on my Time Machine backups. Could you explain further?
I always say the more back ups you have the better. Keep your Time Machine back up as already suggested. But on another separate USB drive use Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper to make an image, or an exact bit for bit copy of your laptop's drive, which would be a separate bootable copy of your laptop's internal drive. With Startup Disk in System Preferences or by holding the Option key on boot up you can select the drive you want to boot too. Now if anything goes drastically wrong with your install you can boot it up with the external drive with the image. Both software will allow you to copy that image back to the laptops drive if necessary as well.
Kind of "belt and suspenders", you may never need you back ups, but they are there if you need them.

  • Does Mountain Lion work with Adobe CS4?

This may have already been asked, but I didn't see it when searching. Sorry if its a duplicate question.
I have the Adobe CS4 Master Suite running on my imac (27" Quad core i7 processor at 2.93GHz with 8GB ram) currently running very smoothly on 10.6.8. I'm thinking of upgrading to 10.8. My question is does the upgrade break or slow down anything in the Adobe CS4 Suite? I mainly use Illustrator, Acrobat and Photoshop for my work and occasionally run Indesign, Fireworks or Dreamweaver (all CS4)
Any help or comments would be appreciated before I buy and download the 10.8 update. If any of the programs I mentioned have issues, are they major or minor?
    Thanks!

    Yes.
    Are my applications compatible?

To save my life, I cannot get my Brother HL 2120 laser printer to work. It downloads fine, the software upgrades as well. I can see it when I hit "command F" but when I try and print with it, it just flat disappears, no icon bouncing and no printed product. Any help would be grea

This Apple support article doesn't show that model as a supported printer.

    Try resetting the printing system.

  • Does Mountain Lion work with Windows 8

I have just purchased a Mac Mini and wondering if I can emulate Windows 8 on it.

    lewis0,
    Welcome to Adobe Community .
Minimum requirements means that you have to have these as the minimum configuration to install the Adobe Products . You can surely go ahead and install the product on a windows 8 PC and it should work fine.

I need to get a new photoshop, mine is out of date. Will Photoshop CS5 work with OS 10.7.2? Adobe doesn't include 10.7.2 in their tech specs.
