Win 7 64bit Can't install driver

I have the latest software and I have a brand new storm2, when I install the software, all is fine.
When i connect my phone , it doesn't charge and the software does not reconize it
In device manager it says "RIM Composite Device"  and says  "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
I have rebooted many times, tried different ports , installed old software and new. What could be the problem? My ports have plenty of power , never had any issue with any other cell phone, or multiple cell phones connected
I have unplugged everything from usb, doesnt work, it has to be a software problem. ideas?

i wish there was some way to get RIM to understand how utterly disappointed we are that they do not have a desktop manager version to sync with windows 7 64 bit/office 2010.  i have been a loyal blackberry fan and customer for over 10 years, and i expected better of them.  Especially because they do not seem able to provide a timeframe by when this issue should be resolved. Very very disappointing, RIM.
Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Actually, RIM has released a timeframe...here...and here.

  • Can I install Driver updates?

Ok, i have installed windows xp on my imac for over 7 months now still working fine and a few days ago i installed a program called drivermax and found a few updates for my current drivers, my question is:
Can i install driver updates for my XP?
i just don't want it to cause any problems BTW, is it possible for me to get a new intel chip and work it on my IMac?

Hi ? and welcome to Discussions,
my personal approach with Driver Updates in Windows is 'never change a running system' and/or 'if it ain't broken, don't try to fix it'.
So unless I have any kind of trouble with my Windows I don't update Drivers.
BTW: I am still running the BootCamp Beta 1.1.4 Drivers
If you want to update drivers, you should consider making a backup of your BootCamp Windows before with WinClone http://www.twocanoes.com/winclone/ or at minimum set a 'System Restore Point' to which you can revert in case something goes wrong.
Nontheless you should stick with the Driver Updates Apple has provided.
BootCamp 2.0 Drivers are on the Leopard DVD and BootCamp 2.1 Drivers can be downloaded from Apple but will only install if you have installed the 2.0 drivers .
You can't 'upgrade' the Intel processor without at least losing your warranty.
Even then this is definitely a very difficult task and most likely not worth the time and money you have to invest.
    Regards
    Stefan

    Hi @HungVo ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your Probook 450 g and issues with the mouse drivers.  The Synaptics Driver in Windows 7 comes with mouse drivers. Unless you are using a USB mouse which would use the Plug n Play drivers. Here is a download that might help.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system.
To get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at Commercial Forums.
    Hope this helps.

  • Vista 64bit can't find driver for networked Laserjet 3390.

I originally posted the following in the wrong section so I posted a retraction there and am reposting in this networking section. ===== I have an all-in-one Laserjet 3390 printer. It's connected to my WinXP Pro PC via USB and works fine as a printer. I don't use the scanner since I have a Canonon scanner that I use. I bought a Dell Studio 1537 laptop that came with Vista Home Premium 64bit installed. I networked the laptop to the WinXP PC via ethernet cables and a Belkin router. I can transfer files between both PCs with no problems. Now I'm trying to print on the 3390 from the Laptop. When using the Vista laptop, I can see the 3390 on the network. But when I try to connect to it, a window pops up saying: ***** The server for the 'HP LaserJet 3390 Series PCL6' printer does not have the correct printer driver installed. If you want to search for the proper driver, click OK. Otherwise, click Cancel and contact your network administrator or original equipment manufacturer for the correct printer driver.***** So I selected Vista 64bit on the HP website and downloaded the Universal Print Driver HPUPD47PCL664.exe. Unzipped that file in a folder on the Vista laptop. Then connected to the 3390 printer again from the Vista laptop as I did before and when the pop up occured, I browsed to the folder that contains the unzipped UPD driver. I see several .inf files which is what the install program wants but when I click OK, a pop up says: ***** Windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver. Contact your administrator for help locating and installing a suitable driver. ***** Any ideas?
    This question was solved.

mrlaw10,  You do not need the HP software since your printer is already on the network.
First, do a Windows Update.  Next,
    1. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by browsing to its IP address before continuing.
    2. Click >> Start >> Control panel >> Devices and Printers.
    3. Click the Add a printer
    4. Select Local printer
    5. Select Create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port and click Next button.
    6. Under Device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under Hostname or IP address, enter the printer's host name (found on the printer's network configuration report the generated above). Click Next.
If you get a message about Additional Port Information Required, then the printer was not found using the host name. You can go back and retry or using the printer's IP address instead of the host name.
    7. Select HP or Hewlett-Packard from the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.
If your printer model was not listed, then select Have Disk, browse the HP CD that came with your printer and select the first file that starts with hp and ends with inf. Click Open then OK. Select your printer model. Click Next.
    8. If you are asked, use the currently installed driver.
    9. It will ask for the Printer name -- enter a new name or use the existing one. This will be the name of the printer that you select from other applications.
    10. You may be asked to share the printer. Make a choice and click Next.
    11. The Print Test Page box appears. Go ahead and print it.
    12. Click Finish.

  • Can't install driver for HP P1006 LaserJet under Windows 8.1 64 bit

    Hi,
I can not install the driver for HP P1006 LaserJet under Windows 8.1 64 bit.
I download the driver installation program from the HP website. When I run it, it says reinstalling the driver files, then copying files to the hard drive and then it crashes. I also tried using the driver CD that came with the printer to no avail.
The printer works fine on my other laptop with Vista on it. Help!

    Hi peshi77,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you are trying to install your HP Laserjet P1006 to your computer running Windows 8.1, but everytime you attempt to extract the files it crashes. After some research I see there were no updated drivers made available for the Windows 8.1 OS, you must install the Hostbased Plug and Play Basic Driver, to get the basic printing functions. Please click on the link below to download and install:
HP LaserJet P1000-P1500 Hostbased Plug and Play Basic Driver
Once downloaded, please follow the on screen instructions. I hope this helps!

  • G510 and Windows 7 - can't install driver

    Hi!
I have a problem with driver installation on my G510 notebook with Windows 7. I've installed all drivers, and only two had left: "Unknown Device" and "PCI Simple Communications Device". After installing the Intel Power Management Engine, the "Unknown Device" had disappear (installed successfull), but second one is still not installed. VendorID (8086) and DeviceID (8C3A) suggests, that this is Intel Power Management, but this driver is allready installed.
I tried to install different versions of this driver (even for Win8), but nothing changed. Google says nothing on my problem.  What else can I do? What am I missing?
    Regards.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Downloaded the file directly from Intel. Works fine now.
Too bad, that Lenovo can't provide proper drivers (Win7 x64) for their notebook. I've noticed several driver problems:
    - Intel Graphic Card driver, can't recognize the device (had to download directly from Intel),
    - AMD Graphic Card driver installs ok, but system shows error in Device Manager (had to download directly from AMD),
    - WLAN driver setup finishes ok, but the driver is still not installed (had to download driver for diffrent notebook model),
    - Power Management driver can't install all used devices (had to download directly from Intel).
    Regards.

  • Win 7/CS5 Can't install Pixelbender for Photoshop

I was asked to start a Win7-flavored thread about my inability to install PixelBender for Photoshop CS 5.
There are currently two installers: one for Photoshop 5 and one for Photoshop 5.1.
Both fail. The "5" installer says something cryptic about version "12" being required, and the other says something cryptic about "12.1" being required.
My version of Photoshop corresponds to12.0.4.
The Pixelbender team wanted me to explain why I am no longer running my installed version of Pixelbender. The answer is that I have migrated to a more powerful Win 7 machine and therefore had to install again.

    Yes, ultimately that worked--thank you.
It's quite confusing because the 5.5 upgrade installs ANOTHER extension manager for the upgraded components only.
I distinctly remember running Extension Manager and wondering why Photoshop wasn't listed, but now I know.
    Some observations:
    (1) As previously mentioned, your error message refers to version 12 of Photoshop without explaining to the poor user that CS 5 is pure marketing fiction and Photoshop is really version 12.
    (2) No where pre-sales or post-installation does Adobe explain to the poor user that it is going to run your PC under two parallel but segregated universes, one for CS 5 Untouched and one for CS 5.5 Upgraded. TWO separate Extension Managers! I've never heard of such a thing.
    (3) Or is it FOUR, given the potential for running 32bit aps on a 64bit system?
    (4) As a matter of fact, the poor user is not even likely to understand which apps will remain at CS 5 level and which ones are coming in as CS 5.5.
    (5) The Extension Manager doesn't offer to look for downloaded extensions, but what's worse, if the poor user does the manager's job for it and locates the mxp in the file system, the Manager won't even accept drag and drop--you have to navigate the file system again with a File/Open.
Fortunately, none of these issues would be the responsibility of your department, but really, guys, can you tell somebody how this sux.
Again, thanks for your help. Pixelbender is essential to my work!

  • My pc on windows vista can not install driver for my Iphone 4s on 6.0.1

I can do everything in itunes but the windows driver can not be installed.

I too have experienced the Logitech s715i error message stating something like, the accessory is not a supported device of the iPhone. The speakers will charge my phone but will not "connect" to play music. I have an iPhone 4S running version 6.1 (10B142).
I too have contacted Logitech for support and am awaiting a reply.

  • Hp officejet 6500 wireless doesn't scan to pdf and can't install driver

Purchased a new Windows 8.1 laptop (Dell) and using my old 6500 wireless printer but connected directly through USB.  I can scan from the printer control panel, but don't see an option to save the output as a pdf as was formerly the case with my Windows 7 computer.
There don't appear to be any  HP programs on my new laptop with which I can control the printer.  I downloaded the driver/software  from the HP site, but when I try to run the downloaded executable, it extracts the files but gets no further.
So there are 2 problems, but the first may be a result of the second.
Thanks for any help you can give.

    Hi,
Yes, Windows 8.1 comes with many generic drivers for printers and normally they only support basic print. Please download the following Software and Drivers and install to your Windows 8.1 (or 8) computer:

  • Can't install driver for HP laserjet p1102w

I have a HP laserjet p1102w installed on my network wirelessly. It was working fine, but then I had to set up the network anew.
Now I can't get it to work on one of our macbooks. The other one works fine, they both run 10.7.5
I tried to remove the printer from the list and install the driver again from scratch. I downloaded the newest driver from HP, installed it, and upgraded the printer firmware (using the other laptop). When i click the + in the printer list, the printer shows up, and then i get the message to configure it, saying that the software is available from Apple. It seems to download, and then says the software is not available at this point, telling me to get the newest software from the printer manufacturer. Which is what I did in the first place.
I tried this several times, also tried repairing permissions, that didn't help.
Does anyone have any ideas? Would greatly appreciate help, have spent a few hours trying to figure this out to no avail.
