Win 7 Pro 64 bit Pre load replace Win 7 Pro 32 bit

How do I pre-installed win7 pro 64-bit system to replace Win 7 Pro 32-bit system?
Thanks

If you can live without the recovery partition, a 64-bit version of W7 can be downloaded - both legally and freely - from here:

  • HP Split X2 upgraded from Windows 8 pre-loaded to Win 8.1, now cannot run Add feature to Windows 8.1

    Hi!
i have purchased a HP Split X2 13.3" laptop in a computer show slightly more than 1 year ago.
it comes with Windows 8 pre-loaded at that time.
Later on, Microsoft offer free upgrade for all Win 8 to Win 8.1 and i did that as well.
Everything goes perfectly smooth unless recently when i try to go Control Panel run Add Feature to Windows 8.1,
it ask me for product key!!
When i looked the bottom of my Split X2 laptop, it does not have the sticker of the Windows product key. There is only 1 Windows 8 hologen sticker! Hence, i use some key finder application to detect the product key.
I enter the product key when i run Add Feature to Win 8.1 again, but the Windows prompted me key is not valid.
    Why?
The Win8.1 insalled is genuine version. I can perform regular Windows updates without issue.
Appreciate if any expert can help to resolve my issue.
    Thanks a lot,

    Hi
The Add Feature is to upgrade your current Windows 8/8.1 Core Edition to Windows 8/8.1 Pro or Windows 8/8.1 Media Center Edition.
It requires you to purchase particular Product key with regard to Add Features option.
Here are some links to help you understand it:

  • Has anyone ever gotten a MacBook pro with *********** pre loaded on it?  I went into itunes, and everything was empty except for movies where there were three 15 second pornographic videos.

As I stated in the title, I ordered my Macbook Pro from apple online.  I have had it for 4 days now and I was looking to transfer all of my songs from my mac mini to my macbook.
I opened up itunes and all of the categories were blank except the movies, and there were 3 of the same clips there.  It was a 15 second video that involved a guy, a girl and a slip-n-slide.
I have concerns as to what else is on this thing as far as viruses and other pornographic videos, even illegal material.  I was also hoping my daughter can use this for school.   The last thing I would want is for her to be doing something and stumble upon a file that would surely be inappropriate.
    Any advice?

  • Upgrade from Win 7 Pro 32bit pre embeded OEM pack to Win 7 Pro 64bit

    Hello,
I have recently purchased 15 Dell OptiPlex Desktops with pre installed Windows 7 Pro 32bit Operating System.
Now, i wish to upgrade it to Windows 7 Pro 64bit but not able to do so as i do not have the product key. As I understand the key for 32bit & 64bit is same but the problem is that I cannot locate my current pre embedded OEM license key as it is been embedded
in to the motherboard as informed to me by OEM (Dell).
Please suggest a solution as on how can I upgrade my current 32bit OS to 64bit in this scenario.

  • Palm Pre and backwards Palm app compatibility? 64 bit OS - Vista or XP Pro -- compatibility -- ?

I am brand new to the board, so please bear with me if these questions have already been addressed elsewhere.
The announcement of the Palm Pre might have just retained me as a Palm loyalist.  I was starting to look at BlackBerries, etc. for my next phone upgrade.  And then along comes the Pre.....which looks to be a Very Good Thing.  However, I have a couple of questions:
    1.  Will the Palm Pre be compatible with the apps that I currently have loaded onto my Palm TX?  Will a simple transfer of apps / data from the TX to the Pre be possible?
    2. Will I be able to sync the Pre with my Vista 64 bit laptop, or with my XP Pro 64 bit desktop?  Or does the Pre still lack 64 bit compatibility?  (Man, I hope that it will "do" 64 bit........)
To anyone who knows -- thanks.
    Post relates to: Palm TX

Thank you for the responses in both cases, smkranz.  It's greatly appreciated.
Yes -- my Palm TX has served me well for a few years.  It's still functioning quite nicely.  However, I'd hate to have to manually re-enter all of the data that's stored in it into another device.  Plus I wouldn't want to give up several of the apps that I have installed on that device.
IMO, in many ways the TX 'anticipated' the Pre -- rotating screen (albeit manually set), and a list of other features.  Heh -- but these days, if a device is six months old -- then it's yesterday's news.  ;-)  The TX is a circa 2005 era device, IIRC.  So it's an ancient historical relic in today's world.  But I still like it.  A lot.  Few electronic devices that I've ever had the pleasure of owning have been as useful to me as the TX has.  That's why I hated the idea of switching brands......but I didn't see much choice, until now.  The Pre looks to be a real shot in the arm for Palm.  And for my continuing to use Palm's devices into the future.  The BlackBerry Strom was a real disappointment.  And I don't like iPhones.  But I don't think that the Pre is going to disappoint.  If the device lives up to its promise: then I think that we'll have a top-notch winner on our hands.  A great replacement for my venerable TX.
Heh -- the first thing that I loved about the TX was the ability to download & read ebooks while traveling.  One TX in the pocket is a lot easier to carry around than a suitcase full of hardback novels.  The Pre looks to take that 'convenience factor' to a whole 'nother level..........
Now......if only I can get the legacy Palm OS apps to work with it, and it syncs up with my 64 bit PC's: then everything will be right with the world.........
    Thanks again for the help.

  • Win 7 with Snow Leopard on MacBook Pro (June 2009) = Success

    This is what I did:
Knowing that the most recent updates of the MacBook Pro from June 2009 supported Vista 64-bit, Windows 7 64-bit would work I expected.
Inside of Snow Leopard I used the BootCamp installer to remove my Vista 32-bit Bootcamp partition. Created a new Bootcamp partition, popped in the Win 7 disc and started the install. As I cannot launch the Win 7 64-bit installer from Vista 32-bit I needed to create a new partition for Win 7.
I installed everything and did not put in my CD key into Win 7 and continued on. It rebooted about 4 times during the install. Once I got to the Win 7 desktop I proceeded to install Win 7 again. Why? Because I needed to get my Win 7 CD key in there so I could register it.
After the second install of Win 7 (over the top of previous Win 7 install) I entered my CD key and everything else installed and I was left at the Windows desktop.
I removed the Win 7 DVD and put in the Snow Leopard DVD and installed the BootCamp drivers. Rebooted Win 7 and everything was working (sound, multi-touch pad, network, Superdrive, etc).
So the Windows 7 with Bootcamp is very easy if you have a newer MacBook Pro. I don't know about the older MacBooks but wanted this to be out in the support forums for those who are not sure since other people are experiencing some challenges to install Windows 7.
I am now researching on how to get Bonjour working so I can access my Time Machine's hard disk and printer in 64-bit land.
    G.
    http://www.mac512.com

To get Bonjour working in Win 7 64-bit with Time Capsule (Dual-band version):
Printer - Download the Bonjour for Windows 1.0.6 64-bit update program from apple.com. Install the program and no more problems with not finding the printer.
Hard Drive: I needed to open the Local Security Policy program. Navigate to Local Policies, then Security Options, then Network Security: LAN Manager Authentication Level. Select the option "Send LM & NTLM - Use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated". Click Apply then OK. You can then enter in the device password with no errors to mount the hard drive.

  • New user of Yoga pro 3 : trackpad gestures and win 10

Dear all,  I just got my Yoga pro 3 and coming from a Mac, I am a bit lost (I use Win 7 at work). One thing that I miss the most is the track pad, although the Yoga's seems to be quite good. However, I thought there would be 2-3 finger gestures, and apart from 2-fingers scroll, which is fine, I haven't found anything. Do I need to install something? The thing I really need is a 2-finger Right click, as in a Mac (I am so used to it!)...the rest I can live without.
FInally, I was thinking about upgrading to Win 10: do you recommend it? Is it worth it? Also, how to do it? I thought I would get a "Get Windows 10" icon (my wife does in her 4 years old laptop) but I do not.
    Thanks for your help!

Thanks !  Indeed it works but I must press really hard! I was more thinking of something like the 1-finger press but I guess I wil make do with it...

  • Can I install Snow Leopard on the latest Macbook Pros? (the ones pre-loaded with Lion)

The problem and solution is pretty simple, I just want to know if anyone has tried this before. I have a brand new Macbook Pro that I bought more or less for the sole purpose of having a more powerful machine to run AVID Media Composer on. AVID is only compatible up to OS version 10.6.7 at the moment, and the machine I got was pre-loaded with Lion, 10.7....So I look at the support documentation Apple provides, and notice that in the nifty little chart they have, the latest line of Macbook Pros out there (early 2011) originally had version 10.6.6, so I'm assuming that's the previous version I can't downgrade past.
To revert back to Snow Leopard, however, I need to install it from the DVD which has version 10.6.3 on it, and then upgrade to any version between Snow Leopard 10.6.6 and Lion 10.7. In theory this could work, the only problem being that for a brief time between installing Snow Leopard and updating to the version of it that I need, the computer will have version 10.6.3 on it.
Now I'm pretty sure if the only thing I do on the computer is immediately update to a safe-to-use version, there will be no problems. However, if the machine's hardware is so terribly non-backwards compatible with the Snow Leopard OS, I may do all this backing up and reverting and not even be able to start the computer once I get the old install on it. Before I just go ahead and try this for myself, I was wondering if anyone else has, and more importantly, have you had any success?

    Hi r,
EDIT: disregard my post. Waiting for that disc is a far better option.
    I hope w won't mind if I add a thought here:
    rmo348 wrote:
Now I don't mind if some drivers are messed up and resolution is all funky when I install 10.6.3 on it, I just need to know if it'll be functional to the point where I can run the 10.6.6 update dmg. Once I update to 10.6.6 everything should work fine.
Or could I install 10.6.3, have the 10.6.6 update burned to a disc, and boot straight from that? This is my first Mac so I'm not sure what little tricks work or not.
Your first idea may work; the only way to know for sure is to try it. If you do, make sure you download and run the Combo update for 10.6.7 or 10.6.8. There can be different versions of a point update, those which are available for download, and those which ship on Macs, so you want to install one beyond that which shipped with some of the new MBPs.
If the MBP won't boot to 10.6.3, something else to try is installing it to an external HD, then installing the 10.6.7 update on it, clone it to the MPB's internal HD, and run the 10.6.7 or 10.6.8 Combo update on it.

  • I cannot acess files onmy Win XP Pro server from my three win 8.1 umits

Okay, I'm finally off of most of the medicinal drugs and I still cannot get my share/use commands to work.
My environment is 4 PCs local network (one win 8.1 laptop (wireless), one win 8.1 desktop (hardwired and wireless), one win 8.1 tablet (wireless) and one win XP Pro - SP3 desktop (wireless) - the drive is an NTFS formatted drive.
On the in XP server with simple file sharing turned "OFF", I created a net user command that added a user.  I set a password for this account and then the /add: operator. I used the /homedir: option to set the home
directory to the root directory of drive "C".  I used the Net localgroup command to move don.farr into the administrator group.  Both commands execute properly on the XP server.  I also issue a net share command to share the root directory
    of drive "C".
Using the laptop (Win 8.1) I do a net use command with the password for the drive appended to the end of the net use command.
When I try to access the files on my z: drive, I get "access denied" messages regardless of which method I use to get to the data files.  For example, using "cmd" I switch to z: and cd into the root directory.  I can do
a "dir"and see all the files, but if I try to do a "type" or even open the file with notepad (example "autoexc.bat") I get an access denied message.
Now, just to make matters more interesting, if I do "remote access", I can get to the drive and do just about anything I want to.  Also, if I issue a "Net Session" command, I will see the user (don.farr) as a listed user but instead
of seeing the proper fullname. I do see the IP address followed by the user name.
On the win XP Pro system, if I issue the Net user command, I see user set up in the administrator group.
So I ask, what in the world am I doing wrong that is preventing my in 8.1 from full access to my in XP Pro drive.
This only became an issue of late because I am recovering from knee surgery and my ability to move to the different computers is a severe challenge at this immediate point in time.
    Please help me!

The most probable reason  stems from difference between SMB versions. W XP is SMB 1 and W 7 and 8.x are 2 or more. Lower higher version Windows to lower SMB. Sometimes other configuration items may play the role, namely
autotuning. Also versio 6.x Wiindows has different mechanism for neighbor discovery.
Root directory is usually shared by default and is accessible to local administrator.
I do recommend to place your question into public forum answers.microsoft.com

  • Acrobat Pro 8.2.6 with Win XP on SP 3 - Illegible Printing Issue

I'm using Acrobat Pro 8.2.6 with Win XP on SP 3.
Several weeks ago my PDF files, whether received via email or generated by scanning, cause a problem when I attempt to print.  When the PDF is printed to either one of three printers or to Adobe PDF to create a new PDF, the document changes to a dark grey background and the text ends up with a halo around it causing the document to be illegible. I don’t believe the printers to be part of the issue as they are multiple makes / models, of which two are network printers and the remaining printer is attached via a serial port.
I've used the original software to patch/repair several times, which works in the short run.  Once the PC is shut down though, or goes overnight, the graying-out issue resumes.
I have also used the "Optimized Scanned PDF" function, under Documents, which clears up most of the issues but any bolded or italicized text still has a residual halo so that portion is illegible.
Any ideas how to fix this ongoing issue?
    Thank you,

    >only fails on a certain account
That would SEEM to indicate it is a permissions issue
Different software, but with Adobe Encore on Win7 I can create a single layer DVD the "usual" way, but to create a dual-layer DVD I must right click the Encore icon and select Run as Administrator from the pop up option list
Give that a try... or, maybe, go to the Acrobat EXE and right click and select to always Run as Administrator (if that option is there for WinXP)
Note that for Win7 (maybe for WinXP ???) simply BEING the Administrator seems to be different than using the Run as Administrator option

  • Have a new Dell Latitude with Adobe X Standard pre-loaded.  Purchased upgrade to Adobe XI Pro today

Have new Dell Latitude laptop with Adobe X Standard pre-loaded.  Purchased upgrade to Adobe XI Pro today and have Serial #.  Installed the upgrade successfully, but it is asking for the Serial # of the previous version...  I don't have that Serial# and in the process of the upgrade it unistalled the old version so don't really have a place to look back to.  What next?

    Hi Dan,
From where did you order the older Acrobat X Standard?
If it was a boxed product then the serial number must be behind the case, else if it was downloaded, login to your Adobe account and check the same.
Else contact Customer care or Chat with a tech support and they would be able to help you.

  • Question 4 Audio Pros using MBP booted in Win XP- do Win audio apps work?

Are any of you audio pros successfully using windows audio apps on a MBP booted into Win XP?
I understand that most pros will use native Mac audio applications under Mac OS X - there are obviously plenty to handle almost any job. However... the fact is, there are some very cool audio applications available for use under Windows exclusively.
While I do currently own a PC, I have owned dozens of macs in the past (ranging from the 33MHz Quadra 950, through the PowerBook G4 1GHz & PowerMac Dual G4 1.25GHz - all while working as a professional audio engineer). With that said, my experience with virtually booting into Windows with a Mac was horrible at best - specificially when attempting to use Windows for specialized audio work. But I haven't worked on a Mac since the fall of 2004. In the past 3 years, a lot has changed with the Mac line.
If you're an audio pro who has had success using audio applications made for windows on a MacBook Pro 2.2 or 2.4GHz, would you please let us know which Windows audio application(s) you have used with success?
(Please, if you do not have direct experience using audio applications for Windows on your MacBook Pro, please refrain from posting. I'm looking for comments from professionals with first hand experience, not opinions on what might or might not work. My most sincere thanks in advance.)

It appears that you CAN use audio programs under Parallels without issue... I'm SOLD on this MBP. Thanks to oxxle from Germany for the assistance answering this question.
