Window menu is missing in DW CS5 Mac

I need to open the behaviors panel and I can't get to it. My window menu is missing. I have no idea how long it has been missing - I never open new panels. But, now I need it! Help! Here is a screenshot, it should be bestween Site and Help. How can it just disappear??? I have nothing in my prefs that would cause it, I've tried setting the interface with all the choices, nothing. I really need to access the behaviors.

It may not. I wish I still had my MacBook. It makes it difficult troubleshooting from a PC.
Same here. I'm always wary of offering definitive advice to Mac users until I double check my proposed advice online first.
Time for a new MacBook Pro I think :-)

  • Import Premiere Pro CS3 Windows projects into Premiere Pro CS5 Mac.

Hi there people. I hope you can help me. I have had premiere pro CS3 on my windows system for some years but now run a Mac with Master Collection CS5, my problem is that my existing prproj files on windows format do not open in CS5 Premiere Pro for Mac, I get a message telling me that I need to see the user guide for importing options, I have tried to do so, but there is no information about how to do this.
Can anyone here please tell me how to get around this, as I need to rework some of these old windows projects however my old windows system is totally dead now so I cannot open the files in the CS3 windows version either.
Please help, oh and spare me the useless windows vs. mac arguments.
I hope someone here can help
    Thanks

Since you are trying to Open a CS3 PC Project, you should not have THAT many issues in CS5 Mac. Have you tried both the Open and Import - similar but different operations? Have both methods failed?
One possible problem would be the Effects & Transitions used in the CS3 PC Project. Here is a LIST of the Transitions and Effects in CS4 for the PC, that are missing in the Mac version. I would assume that CS3 and CS5 would be similar. However, in similar cases, PrPro has thrown a more specific error message. I have only Opened Pr 6.5 Mac Projects into PrPro 2.0 PC, and these have been almost perfect. Where there were missing Transitions, I got a very explicit message, telling me what had been used that was missing from my program, and exactly where the problem existed (specific TimeCode). In my case, two Transitions just did not exist in my PrPro 2.0, and one was a 3rd party Transition, or Effect, and I did not have that. Still, the older Mac Projects Opened fine, and I just made note of where I would need to make changes. I would anticipate that similar would occur, if the Mac version did not have some Transition, or Effect, but do not know specifically. Still, based on the warning messages that I got, with such complete documentation, I'd expect similar.
Now another consideration - Assets. If there are Assets that you cannot work with on your Mac, say DV-AVI, or WMV, those would likely throw an error. Again, I would expect that error message to elaborate a bit more.
Do you know the details of your CS3 Projects and their Assets? Anything that you can think of there?
Just thinking here, and unfortunately, I have never gone the direction that you are going, and with the versions that you are working with, so something simple and glaring (to others) might just be slipping past me.
Good luck, and maybe others will have much better input on your issue. Also - welcome to the forum!

  • Missing "Cycle through Windows" menu item or shortcut?

Am I missing something or is there indeed no "Cycle through Windows" menu item or shortcut in Pages 09?
    Hope someone can advise.

It is very hard when you can't see what the other person is looking at and I have never seen a German keyboard, I only know that it is different.
I think the reason why the window cycling menu item is in Finder is that windows are really part of Finder and as Apple has made them global shortcuts they thought it was the only place to park the menu item.
Honestly I never knew it was there until now when I went looking for it. I always use the keyboard shortcuts which I stumbled on years ago.
I am glad you found a way around the problem.
Apple lives in their ivory tower in California and is nowhere as international as they used to be under the original Mac OS. Give them feedback, you are not the only one who has encountered this problem.
    Alles gut, ende gut.

  • Missing "Hide Panels/Show Panels" in Windows menu

Attempting to change a setting in a Spry menu bar, I discovered that I am missing the "Hide Panels/Show Panels" choice in the windows menu, rendering the Spry menu bar contents now unavailable for change. (The "Hide Panels" text now shows up as faint lettering in contrast to all the other choices).
This function is necessary to make changes in a Spry menu bar. How can I restore this function?

  • Mac OS Window Menu

I'm seeing very erratic behaviour from the Mac OS default
    Window nativemenu.
To keep the best user experience, I have an AIR app start
with a hidden window, which immediately opens another application
window. This is the main user interface. The hidden window creates
the application menus, and adds an entry to the Window menu. Whilst
the main user interface window is open the entry on the Window menu
works perfectly (ie. it triggers events), but once it is closed,
the entry no longer triggers events - in fact no item on the Window
menu does. This entry on the Window menu is intended to open the
main user interface window if closed, or reactivate it if not in
focus - good UI practice I imagine.
If I add the menu entry to the File menu however (not a
default menu in my solution) the events correctly occur, so I guess
the work around is to create my own Window menu, which I'll try - I
wanted to notify Adobe of this issue.

Please see here for a code sample:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=75&catid=697&threadid =1384164&enterthread=y
It's not quite the same issue, but the effects are the same.
Nothing from the eventlistener, or perhaps the eventlistener isn't
set up - is there any way to programmatically check if there is an
eventlistener on an element, in this case a menu?
    Thanks,
    Henry

  • CS3 Missing KBSCE area for this panel's Windows menu submenu

Missing KBSCE area for this panel's Windows menu submenu. Does anybody recognize this assert message? I have found posts from other people with the exact same problem, like this one for example: http://forums.adobe.com/message/1303048#1303048 , but no solutions to it.  We have the exact same problem, our menus are listed under the Windows Menu Product area in the Keyboard shortcuts editor and they do not have the “ourPrefix :”. I assume there is something wrong with the resource declarations but we are unable to locate a sdk sample or anything in the documentation about this.

First, you need to realize that resetting preferences will put them back to ground zero, not the way they were the last time you were happy.
You can try the key combination again and see if you are any faster (we're talking near instantaneous) or you can open your user profile, show hidden files and folders and navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Adobe\InDesign\Version 4.0 and rename the two files InDesign Defaults and InDesign SavedData.
In your case, a better first option, I think, would be to try System Restore which you'll find in System Tools under the Programs > Accessories heading on the start menu. Go back to the first restore point before you tried to open the file, if you can.
In any case, for you to open a CS3 .inx file you will need to be fully patched the the last CS2 update, and you should expect to see some text reflow issues, as well as missing any CS3 features that the author used which aren't supported in CS2.

  • Photoshop CS5 crashes when you choose menu items when FinderPop is installed (Mac OS)

FYI - Knowledge Base document was created to outline this problem and provide a solution:
Photoshop CS5 crashes when you choose menu items when FinderPop is installed (Mac OS)
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/891/cpsid_89140.html

FinderPop released a new updated version today.  It can be found at the below link.  Adobe makes no promises about 3rd party software, however my limited testing does indicate that the crash on inverse selection is fixed by this latest beta drop of FinderPop.

  • How do i purchase a volume license to get a serial no. for Windows if i have a photoshop CS5 for Mac

How do i purchase a volume license to get a serial no. for Windows if i have a photoshop CS5 for Mac? And how much does it cost?

Forget that nonsense talk about volume licenses. Or are you saying you need 10 Windows licenses? You simply buy a new version of PS (= new license) or do a platform swap.

  • CS5 MAC OS - CS5 Windows

I currently own CS5 MAC OS and have never installed it on my computer knowing that I was going to upgrade my computer. I have decided on a new computer that has Windows 8. Can I exchange my CS5 MAC OS version for the CS5 Windows? and is CS5 compatible with Windows 8?
    Thanks

No, you can only swap current versions. You would have to upgrade to CS6 or go Creative Cloud. In the latter case the platform switch would be a moot point, anyway. Otehrwise refer to this:
Order an Adobe product platform swap or language swap

  • From cs5 windows to cs5 mac?

I purchased CS5 for windows a year ago and now i'd like to buy a mac computer, how do i proceed to reinstall cs5 on mac? Do i just need to download CS5 for mac and enter my actual (windows) serial number?

No, you need to upgrade to CS6 and make a platform swap. Serial numbers are language and platform specific, so your Windows serial is no use on a Mac.

  • Missing Window Menu

    Hello Thomas,
if I press Alt + Space, to open the window menu, and an inplace SAP GUI for Windows is active, I don't see any menu item.
Is it necessary or is it a bug?
    Cheers
    Stefan

    Hello Thomas,
    thanks for your reply.
At the moment all seems to be okay. I can't reproduce the behaviour of the window menu, so it seems to be the reason in a special circumstance of my development. If the behavior should show again, I open an OSS ticket, as you suggested it.

  • "Check for Updates..." menu item missing Acrobat 9 Mac

Trying a clean install of Acrobat 9 Pro for Mac on a clean Mac OS X.8.3 Mountain Lion. It take the serial number without issue after launching, but in the Help Menu there is no, "Check for Updates..." item.
Installed and logged in as a local admin. The only alternative way to update the software is to go to the products update page at:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Macintosh
To download and manually install in succession TWENTY updates to get from v. 9.0 to v. 9.5.4. This shouldn't be this difficult. I bet the Adobe Chat Customer Service that I'd be able to download and install all TWENTY updates before anyone on this forum could provide me with a solution.
    Do you accept the challenge?

If you can not download the updates from the help menu any more, then for the MAC the updates are available at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Macintosh. Generally you have to install these updates in order. It is simplest to download the latest first and work back to see if any can be skipped. Once the product hits end of life (and I think AA9 is there), the only updates that are provided are for critical security updates. For instance there has not been an update for AA 8 since Sept 2011. Since the releases are about every 2 years, it is indeed the end-of-life time in the cycle for AA 9 based on the history of the products. The upgrade may be worth it at some time, particularly as your OS or word processor or such change over time. Since the MAC version does not have PDF Maker (as I understand it), the upgrades may not be as critical for you as for PC folks working with newer versions of MS OFFICE -- who have gotten used to those features.

  • InDesign CS5 (Mac OS 10.6) can not open its own file

I need guidance to open an artwork file that in one hour I have to send to the print shop. InDesign refuses to open its own file.
    Any clue? Adobe, please help.

Re: InDesign CS5 (Mac OS 10.6) can not open its own file
    Bob and Peter
Thank your for helping us out. It was really necessary to ask a coworker to open the file and export it in InDesign markup language.
Three hours later than expected, but it's done!
We are stuck here. I'm a Master Collection user of CS5, using only Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Bridge and Acrobat Pro. (I don't know why I bought the Master's). My coleague former Window user, got a Mac in May and downloaded the trial version of Design Studio Standard Collection of CS5.5. Before expiring, we purchased its license and filled it in the active trial version.
A couple of months ago we noticed that were missed Plug Ins on his version and contacted Adobe who instructed us to download the whole files again. We never did because it is a pain to get rid of the missing parts of a pre installed trial version etc.
I will ask Adobe to send a CD disk for his version.

  • Merge to HDR Pro, Photoshop CS5 Mac

    Hello,
I'm using Photoshop CS5 Mac. When I select "File>Automate>Merge to HDR Pro…>" then Browse to "Adobe Photoshop CS5>Samples>Merge to HDR" and select the 4 jpg images, Photoshop merges the images and opens a window that says Merge to HDR (xx%) at the top.  Everything seems fine except the thumbnail images across the bottom are cropped off, their names and check box's aren't visible, and both the Cancel & Ok buttons are missing.
If I grab the window expansion in the lower right corner I can change the aspect of the window but the issues I'm having with the view do not change.  I can hit return and the system will generate the HDR image. Also if I select "About Merge to HDR" when the Merge to HDR window is open nothing happens.
Can someone tell me if there is a setting I need to change in order to get the window to view correctly or is this a coding bug?  I'm using an early intel iMac 17" with and additional Mac 20" monitor attached.  Mac OS 10.6.4, Photoshop 12.0 x32.  The iMac is set to 1440x900 and the Cinema Display is set to 1680x1050.
    Thanks for your time.

Here is the official KnowledgeBase document for the issue. Also, feel free to look at some of the other forum threads covering this (search: HDR OK Cancel)
Feedback on this workaround is appreciated.
