Windows 7 / 2008 duplicate static address when using 802.1x / MAB - ISE

Hi all!
ISE 1.1.3
Cisco 3750 switches
Windows XP / 7 / 2008 clients
I'm having some weird issues were if a client connects to a switchport and happens to be using a static IP address then the client warns of a duplicate address problem.  Also the client will then only show the default gateway within ipconfig even though the IP address / mask is still in the GUI network properties of the adaptor.  This is happening with Windows 7 and Windows 2008 devices.
Windows XP clients don't get the issue.
Some clients will use 802.1x native supplicant and some will be authenticated based on MAB.  Not noticed the problem with 802.1x clients but it always occurs on MAB.
I came across a similar issue here:
http://networkingblog.vvlabs.com/2012/07/cisco-ise-duplicate-ip-address-windows-7.html
Going of that blog I tried using the "ip device tracking delay probe delay" command but the switches don't recognise the "delay" keyword.
The switches are 3750  switches running version 12.2(58)SE2.
All I have is  "count, interval, use-svi" as extra options.
Catalyst 4500 switch guide has  "delay" option but no "count, interval or use-svi".
The only way I have managed to avoid the problem is using the second solution which is a registry hack on each client.  This is fine for the odd server but not realistic when there will be hundreds of other clients.
Any ideas?

Hi
We are doing 802.1x for clients using the Windows supplicant.  For clients not using supplicants we are using MAB.  So the print servers and printers use MAB.

    Before going further, can we try another domain name to see what will happen?
    Besides, if the issue persists, we can try installing a new child domain by using the GUI.

  • Change sender address when use function SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1

    The requirement need change the sender address when use function   SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1.
    for example,the fixed sender  is '[email protected]'. how to change the sender address. could you please
    provide a instance?

    Hi 莫言,
    As explained in mail home wiki here, this function module is obsolete and complex to use, please use CL_BCS instead. You can find lots of example there. And it is pretty easy to change sender address using CL_BCS instead.

  • Windows 7 VM has DNS Problem When Using Wireless

    Hello All,
    I've been fighting this virtual machine networking problem for over a week now. If anyone has a well-informed suggestion (not a guess) I would appreciate hearing about it.
    Here's the problem in a nutshell and then I'll give more details: I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) as my primary (i.e., host) OS. I'm running Windows 7 Home Professional (32 bit) as the guest OS in "Windows Virtual PC" (note that this is *not* the same as "Virtual PC 2007"). If I configure the VM to use my host's wired Ethernet connection, the guest OS can always see the machines on my local network and can always reach the Internet just fine. On the other hand, if I configure the VM to use only my host's wireless connection then the guest OS can still see machines on my local network but CANNOT reach the Internet, except very intermittently (e.g., for maybe 1-2 minutes every hour or so).
    I've tried to anticipate the questions you might ask so here is some additional information:
    The computer is a Lenovo W500 laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit. The wireless network adapter is an "Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN".
    My Internet connection is via AT&T DSL using a wire2 wireless modem/router.
    I have all the updates from Microsoft and Lenovo for this machine. It is 100% up to date with the latest patches and drivers.
    I'm running the 64-bit version (or at least I used the 64 bit installer) of "Windows Virtual PC" which I downloaded  from this link.
    I am *not* running and I did not download "XP Mode".
    When the guest OS loses it's connection to the Internet the following message appears in the Windows Event Log:
    "Name resolution for the name address.yahoo.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded."
    I am able to ping an external machines outside my network but only if I use the IP address. If I specify the host name it cannot be resolved.
    ARE YOU GETTING THE IMPRRESSION THIS IS A DNS PROBLEM??? It looks like I do not have access to a DNS when using the host's wireless connection.
    On the host OS, the "Virtual PC Network Filter Driver" *IS* installed and selected under my "Wireless Network Connection Properties" settings.
    Below are the results of running ipconfig on the guest OS and then the host OS. Note that I am able to ping 192.168.1.254 from the host OS but not from the guest OS. I think this is the crux of the problem.
    Here's what I get from an ipconfig /all executed on the guest OS:

    Hello,
    I am not very familiar wth Microsoft Security Essentials, but believe that it just makes use of the existing Windows Firewall which is present with the operating system.
    To me it is odd that the guest OS reports 192.168.1.254 as the IP address for its gateway and DHCP server yet it cannot access them when pinged.  Let's try pinging from host to guest (and vice-versa)  and see what happens:
    From the host OS at 192.168.1.78, try pinging the guest OS at 192.168.1.75.
    Then, from the guest OS at 192.168.1.75, trying ping the host OS at 192.168.1.78.
    Is each operating system able to ping each other?

  • Windows 7 Laptop Shuts down router when using HomeGroup

    I just installed Windows 7 over the weekend on all my PCs (two desktops, one laptop).  When I bootup the laptop and connect wirelessly, all connectivity ceases (wired and wireless).  When I turn the laptop off, connectivity is restored.
    Windows 7 has a new feature called "HomeGroups".  HomeGroups uses IPv6.  If I disable HomeGroups on the laptop (turned the Services off that run HomeGroups) then I no longer have connectivity issues.
    Could the router be the issue?  I have a WRT110.
    Thank you.

    Router has nothing to do with the operating system.The function of the router is to provide the ip address and the internet connection.Homegroup is basically for the file sharing purpose and all the computers should have Windows7 and homegroup enable to use it.Are you getting any error message when you are using the HomeGroup..?
    Windows 7 and HomeGroups use IPv6. Does the WRT110 support IPv6?
    I don't get an error message because HomeGroup is completely shutting down the router.  As soon as I turned off HomeGroup (the services that are responsible for HomeGroup) the problem goes away.

  • Duplicate Symbol Error when using my own namespace

    Hi.
    When making a new project -> Command line util -> c++ tool, and then adding a new c++ file (includes the .h) to the project, I try making my own namespace like this:
    //ns.h
    #ifndef _TMSDF
    #define _TMSDF
    namespace testns
    int i;
    void somefunc();
    int retInt();
    #endif _TMSDF

    #include "ns.h"
    namespace testns
    void somefunc()
    i = 10;
    int retInt()
    return i;
    and then the main, using the namespace:
    //main.cpp
    #include "ns.h"
    #include <iostream>
    using namespace testns;
    int main()
    somefunc();
    std::cout << "result: " << retInt() << std::endl;
    return 0;
    When hitting the "Build and go" the build results shows the following error:

    Tried searching and reading numerous posts, but can't seem to find the answer for this error. Any hints?

    But I find it strange that my C++ books (by Savitch) doesn't mention this at all.
    Never heard of Savitch. Stroustrup knows a thing or two.
    I would assume that declarations go in the header file and implementations and instantiating variables is done in the cpp file.
    Not necessarily. With templates, everything goes in the headers.

  • How to solve conflict mail address when using aliased domain?

    Currently I am using domain1.com on messaging server.
    For some reason I have to merge users from domain2.com to the same messaging server.
    How can I solve the email address conflict problem if two users have the same username on domain1 and domain2?
    For example,

    User2: [email protected]
    After adding associateddomain domain2.com to messaging server, it seems user1 will own [email protected] automatically.

    Any sugestion for this issue? I appreicate for your reply.

    As long as the users are in different domains, they do not have the "same" mail address, and there is no conflict.
    However, if you "alias" one domain to the other, then you will have a conflict, and will need to change one of the mail addresses.
    You do not have to "associate" or alias the new domain. Messaging Server can support a large number of separate domains, without such things.

  • Change sender Address when using SAP Mail via Exchange

    Hi,
    I'm using FM  ZSO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 to send email with .pdf attachment. all works fine but the recipient sometimes replies to the email which I dont want to happen, so I need the email to appear to have come from an alternative address than mine.e.g. from 'saphelpdeskatxxx.com'
    ....code I have tried to change is Originator here...
    CALL FUNCTION 'SO_OBJECT_SEND'
           EXPORTING
              EXTERN_ADDRESS             = ' '
              FOLDER_ID                  = ' '
              FORWARDER                  = ' '
                OBJECT_FL_CHANGE           = OBJECT_FL_CHANGE
                OBJECT_HD_CHANGE           = OBJECT_HD_CHANGE
              OBJECT_ID                  = ' '
                OBJECT_TYPE                = OBJECT_TYPE
                OUTBOX_FLAG                = PUT_IN_OUTBOX
                ORIGINATOR                 = ORIGINATOR  <----
                ORIGINATOR_TYPE            = ORIGINATOR_TYPE
              OWNER                      = ' '
              STORE_FLAG                 = ' '
           IMPORTING
                OBJECT_ID_NEW              = OBJECT_ID_NEW
                SENT_TO_ALL                = SENT_TO_ALL
                ORIGINATOR_ID              = SENDER_ID
    but that doesnt work.
    Is this something I need to do with Exchange and not SAP?
    Any help appreciated.
    Steve

    Hi Aditya,
    I took a copy of the SOI1 function group, called it ZSOI1. Copied Function  SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 to Z version. In there there's a call to FM ZSO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1
    In call arguments set SENDER_ADDRESS to desired static email address, then set SENDER_ADDRESS_TYPE = 'SMTP' - it was that statement that I was stuck on for months
    Hope that helps,
    Steve

  • Duplicate TIFF files when using "Edit in PS CS5"

    Hello there,
    I'm using LR 4.3 and CS5, with ACR 6.7 installed. Whenever I'm using "Edit in PS CS5" comand inside LR, automatically I'm getting a duplicate TIFF file added to my LR catalog. How can I avoid this? Thank you for your time!

    bcondoral wrote:
    So this happens because 4.1 is compatible with ACR6.7 and 4.3 is not?
    There are two basic behaviors regarding Lightroom and Camera Raw versioning:
    If the Lightroom version and the Camera Raw version are equal (meaning LR 4.3 and ACR 7.3) Lightroom passes the image from LR to Photoshop using ACR to render the file. In this case, LR doesn't need to render the file and to the -Edit save when opening into Photoshop. Photoshop does the render and when saved, will pass that file creation back to Lightroom for adding in the catalog.
    However, whenever the LR version and ACR version do NOT match, Lightroom does the rendering (to be sure of proper rendering) and save the file on disk before passing the image to Photoshop. So, if you are using mismatched LR/ACR versions, this second behavior comes into play.
    As ssprengel correctly notes, there was a slight modification to these behaviors when LR 4 first shipped because it shipped before Photoshop CS6 and ACR 7 shipped. LR 4.0 and 4.1 (the quick dot release for camera compatibility reasons) were made to work with ACR 6.7 in Photoshop CS5 with the first behaviors working...
    LR 4.2 and above do not have the ACR 6.7 compatibilities so the behavior of the LR render and file saving requirement kicks in.
    For optimal compatibility both LR and ACR should be kept in lock-step. Since the release of CS6, ACR 6.7 is the last version of ACR for CS5, so you lose some intigration and functionality by not upgrading to Photoshop CS6 and ACR 7.x.

  • Question about static context when using classes

    hey there.
    i'm pretty new to java an here's my problem:
    public class kreise {
         public static void main (String[] args) {
             //creating the circles
             create a = new create(1,4,3);
             create b = new create(7,2,5);
             System.out.println(a);
             System.out.println(b);
             //diameters...unimportant right now
             getDiameter a_ = new getDiameter(a.radius);
             getDiameter b_ = new getDiameter(b.radius);
             System.out.println(a_);
             System.out.println(b_);
             //moving the circles
             double x = 2;
             double y = 9;
             double z = 3;
             a = create.move();
             System.out.println(a);
    }creating a circle makes use of the class create which looks like this:
    public class create {
        public double k1;
        public double k2;
        public double radius;
        public create(double x,double y,double r) {
            k1 = x;
            k2 = y;
            radius = r;
        public create move() {
            k1 = 1;
            k2 = 1;
            radius = 3;
            return new create (k1,k2,radius);
        public String toString() {
        return "Koordinaten: "+k1+" / "+k2+". Radius: "+radius;
    }now that's all totally fine, but when i try to usw create.move to change the circles coordinates the compiler says that the non-static method move() can't be referenced from a static context. so far i've seen that my main() funktion MUST be static. when declaring the doubles k1, k2, and radius in create() static it works, but then of course when having created the second circle it overwrites the first one.
    i pretty much have the feeling this is very much a standard beginner problem, but searching for the topic never really brought up my problem exactly. thanks in advance!

    You can't access a non-static method from within a static context. So, you have to call move() from outside of the main method. main has to be static because, in short, at least one method has to be static because there haven't been any objects initialized when the program is started. There are more fundamental problems than with just the static context issue.
    I'm confused by your code though. You call create.move(), but this would only be possible if move() was static, and from what I see, it's not. Now that's just one part of it. My second issue is that the logic behind the move() method is very messy. You shouldn't return a newly instantiated object, instead it should just change the fields of the current object. Also as a general rule, instance fields should be private; you have them as public, and this would be problematic because anything can access it.
    Have you heard of getters and setters? That would be what I recommend.
    Now, also, when you are "moving" it, you are basically creating a new circle with completely differently properties; in light of this, I've renamed it change(). Here would be my version of your code:
    public class CircleTester {
        public static void main (String[] args)
             //Bad way to do it, but here's one way around it:
             new CircleTester().moveCircle();
        private void moveCircle()     //really a bad method, but for now, it'll do
            Circle a = new Circle(1,4,3);
            Circle b = new Circle(7,2,5);
            System.out.println(a);
            System.out.println(b);
            //diameters. Don't need to have a new getDiameter class
            double a_ = a.getRadius() * 2;     //Instead of doing * 2 each time, you could have a method that just returns the radius * 2
            double b_ = b.getRadius() * 2;
            System.out.println(a_);
            System.out.println(b_);
            //move the circle
            a.change(2,9,3);
            System.out.println(a);
    public class Circle {
        private double k1;
        private double k2;
        private double radius;
        public Circle(double x,double y,double r)
            k1 = x;
            k2 = y;
            radius = r;
        public void change(int x, int y, int r)
            k1 = x;
            k2 = y;
            radius = r;
        public String toString()
             return "Koordinaten: "+k1+" / "+k2+". Radius: "+radius;
        public double getRadius()
             return radius;
    }On another note, there is already a ellipse class: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/awt/geom/Ellipse2D.html

  • IMac 27" Static Flicker when using Displayport In from Macbook Pro

    Hi all,
    Sorry about the long title
    I have a late 2009 27" iMac with ATI 512Mb 4850 card and 8Gb RAM. I also have a 2011 Macbook Pro that I connect to the iMac via Displayport to use it as a screen.
    The iMac sometimes displays an annoying flicker and "static" like screen issues when displaying the Macbook Pro screen. This does not happen all the time but seems to be more prevelant when I have had the machines on for a long time, or if I use them in the morning after they have been asleep through the night.
    I've tried the cable (a Belkin one) both ways round and have tried wiggling it at certain points to see if that changes the static but nothing happens. I have also purchased a cable from Apple, but I did not realise it would only work for Thunderbolt drives, not displays.
    I have a video of the issue here:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/1nkykc8j13qg9px/2012-04-13%2014.32.38.mov
    Any ideas?
    The only thing that I have chaged about the iMac since purchase is I now run the OS on an external Firewire drive as the internal HD sounds like it's failing (it makes a very loud seeking noise ALL THE TIME and slows down a lot when the machine has been on for a while. The external drive does not do this).
    Thanks
    Ryan

    Hi, sparky96,
    I do not have a satisfactory solution. The best I can do, as a work-around, is adjusting the iMac to its brightest setting, moving the MacBook Pro brightness several notches darker, and then aiming for a compromise in the image I'm working on.
    As a result, I have no idea what someone else sees on his or her computer. However, that might be the case even if I could match the images on my two Macs. Others might have PCs that display reds as browns, for all I know. I do know that when I view a video on YouTube, it looks more or less the same on each of my computers. The human eye seems to make its own interpretive adjustments.
    I have similar problems preparing artwork for printing. No matter what I do to calibrate the displays, the output from my various printers never looks right, and when I get back a book cover that's been printed on an offset press, I'm happy if it's reasonably close to what I get from my desktop printers.
    I wish Apple, and Adobe, and Hewlett-Packard, and commercial printers and the whole industry would devise some kind of universal standards -- but I doubt that will ever happen.

  • Why is audio output so static-y when used with dvi/svideo?

    Hi,
    I like to connect my MBP to my TV to watch shows and movies. I connect the video to the TV with an S-video cord, which is connected to my laptop via an DVI-to-SVideo adapter I bought from the apple store. I connect the audio to the TV with a mini-to-RCA cable.
    The problem is that when both the video and audio cables are connected to my laptop, the audio coming from my laptop and out of the TV sounds really bad and static-y. If I unplug the DVI adapter (and lose the video connection), the audio sounds perfect. So this suggests to me that the DVI adapter/S-video connection is somehow interfering with the audio.
    Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions about ways to fix it or possible workarounds? Perhaps another way to connect to my TV that I haven't thought of? (My TV only has Svideo and RCA inputs).
    Thanks so much in advance for any advice or suggestions!
    Jamie

    No pat answer, and I don't setup like that, but some questions:
    -Do you mean that the sound is bad when the S-Video is connected and 1) the sound cable is connected to the TV and 2) also sound is bad just through the MBP speakers (sound cable not connected to TV)?
    -Not sure what "really bad and static-y" really means - is there loud hum?
    -Have you tried reducing the MBP playback level and increasing the TV volume level?
    -Have you tried running the MBP on battery power?

    When trying to purchase an app I'm asked for my password but my email address
    Is wrong how do I change it

    hmm. That's strange. I've always been able to do that before on the previous iTunes. Did you go to itunes store? It should have your email address on the top right hand side. Click on it, and you should be able to log out and then log into a different account.
    or, make a new account

    Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.
    If you open the Network panel of System Preferences and select the connection item you're using, you should see your computer's IP address on the right. If that's not what you need, please try again to describe it.
