Windows 7 64 bit install error

I have Window's 7 & I run 64 bit.
Well Every single time I try to install iTunes 9.2.1 it says that part of the installation failed & it won't let my iPod nano or my gen. 5 iPod run on iTunes. So far every iPod I've tried says no then it tells me to reinstall iTunes.
Well I've reinstalled like 20 times & I get the same error each time even when installing later versions of iTunes. What's the deal? Help please! I want my iTunes & iPod back working together!

Are you right-clicking > Run as Adminstrator when you do the install?

windows 7 64-bit installation error on brand new ST9750420AS Momentus 3Gb/s 750-GB Hard Drive in HP Envy 15
I installed a brand new ST9750420AS  Momentus 3Gb/s 750-GB Hard Drive in my HP Envy 15 laptop, and I was getting an error in the last installation step of Windows 7, 64-bit, ultimate, indicating that Windows could not support or be installed on the computer hardware.  It turns out that the drivers for the new internal hard drive, need to be installed/loaded during the initial windows install.
the drivers that ended up working are available from intel at:
    RST Driver Files v.10.1, 64-bit
the steps that are requires are:
    1) download the f6flpy-x64.zip file above, and unzip to a usb pen-drive
    2) when installing windows 7, in the configure option of the volumes, even if windows appears to recognize the drive, it is recommended to delete all existing volumes (Advanced options), and then LOAD DRIVER, and BROWSE to the usb pen-drive, while indicating to only list drivers that are compatible with the hardeware.  here is quick list of similar steps with diagrams.
    3) in this case the compatible driver name is "INTEL MOBILE EXPRESS CHIPSET SATA RAID CONTROLLER¨
    4) continue to configure volumes, and installing windows 7,
    5) everything should work fine.

  • Windows 7 install error 0x80300024

Mac Pro with 4 internal hard drives. My primary startup drive (in bay #1) has 10.5 on it.
Wanted to install Windows 7, so needed Snow Leopard's Bootcamp to do that. The fourth hard drive in the machine was new, so wiped that, installed Snow Leopard, then used Boot Camp Assistant to add a partition to that drive for Windows.
Started the Windows 7 install (32 bit). Got to the screen where you choose which volume it will be installing onto, and selected the "BOOTCAMP..." labeled one. Pressed the Next button, which is where I encountered the 0x80300024 error.
That is, it said something like "Windows cannot be installed onto this drive. Error 0x80300024."
Found some posts here on the Apple forums, from The Hatter, advocating removing all the other hard drives when trying a Bootcamp install. The jist of it was, remove all other OS X system drives, or Windows gets confused about its install location. And, while you're at it, might as well pull ALL your other drives before the install for safety (so in my case, that meant the 10.5 system drive from bay #1, plus data drives from bays 2 and 3).
So I did that, re-ran the Boot Camp Assistant in Snow Leopard, having it start with the install. Now the Windows 7 install is going forward.
    THANK YOU to THE HATTER!
It is a shame that nowhere on their support pages does Apple acknowledge install error 0x80300024. They really ought to add that to their Knowledge Base page on Boot Camp/Windows 7. That page is here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3986

Also, note that I would have added my comments to one of the threads where The Hatter had given his advice, but they are old enough to be closed for new comments.
Besides, it seems like a good idea to have a thread with the error code (0x80300024) in the subject line.

  • Windows 7 32-bit install error 0x80070017

I followed the Boot Camp installation guide's instructions exactly, creating the partition, booting from the disk, formatting the partition. But when it gets to the install, it goes through the "Copying Windows Files" in no time, about a second, then hangs on "Expanding Windows Files 0%..." for a few seconds to a minute, then gives me the error message (Error 0x80070017 - Expanding files (0%) - "Cannot install required files. Make sure all files are available, then restart installation"). I've tried rebooting, removing the partition with Boot Camp Assistant, and restarting the process. Same thing each time. I googled the problem and several people had this issue with burned Windows discs from an ISO. Mine is a fresh-out-of-the-box Microsoft disc. Any ideas?

It _does not matter_ if it is an upgrade or full retail box version.
Normally it seems to happen when updating from within Windows, not from install media, but seems to be indicating a disk I/O error. Windows does recognize disk errors better than OS X HFS+. And yes, burning an ISO does need to be done at 2x reduced speed if using Apple's utility.
It could be the *optical drive* not reading the media; might want to try reburning the disc (you'll need to see if you can install Windows in a VM using VirtualBox or something). Or if you can use another optical drive. Sometimes, soft or marginal memory errors, too. And worth doing a full chkdsk on the partition - you may need to enter command line mode instead of install, choose repair options.
    From Windows7Forum:
    What Worked
1-I installed windows server 2003 R2 SP2.(which is what server 2008 can be updated from. I didn't need to activate the server 2003 key because you have 60 days to do so and i only needed it for 1 hour)
2-i download MacicDisc(free download) and installed it on the server 2003
    Freeware MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM(MagicDisc) Overview
3- I took the ISO file(the one that i burned about 20 DVD's with, that never worked)
and mounted it as a virtual drive using MagicDisc
4-Load up the setup and update from the server 2003-server 2008
5-Without any problems at all i had windows server running.
Thats what worked for me. For those wanting to install windows 7(which is everyone)
The idea is the same install windows XP professional x64 or Vista x64 (no need to activate)
Use magicDisc to mount ISO file and upgrade. That should do the trick for everyone, i hope.

For Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, follow these steps:
Click Start, type cmd in the Start Search box, right-click cmd in the Programs list, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
At the command prompt, type Chkdsk /f, and then press ENTER.
Press Y when you are prompted to check the disk next time that the system restarts.
Close all applications, and then restart the computer.
Note During the restart process, Windows checks the disk for errors and then starts.
After the computer has restarted, install the updates again.
If Method 1 does not resolve this issue, try Method 2.

  • Windows 7 Install Error

I have received error code x80070017 during the installation of Windows 7 RC. This has occurred twice -- once while attempting to install into the fourth partition on my local HD, and the second time attempting to install to the third partition (lower cylinder position). No other explanation is provided.
A search of MSDN for the error code also failed.
    HD partition map is:
    Partition #  Size  Usage
    1              60 GB  WinXP
    2              75 GB  Vista
    3              90 GB  Windows 7
    4              90 GB  Data
Does anyone have any knowledge on this error to share?
    Thanks, Jim

    Hi,
I am getting CRC check failed error while installing Win XP with SP3..
In my case, I am downloading the ISO file on one computer and then transferring the whole ISO file in a portable storage device.
Then, I take that portable device to my home and copy the ISO file from there into my home computer to burn it to a CD-RW
Can the usage of two different computers, one for downloading the file and another for burning the file, could be the reason for this
    Thanks,
    Manik

  • Windows 7 Install error after Recovery

I recently had a HD crash on my SL410.  I received a new hard drive and recovery disks from support.  All appear to install OK until Windows 7 tries to start.  I get to "Setting up for first use " and then get an error message that says the install did not work correctly and I need to start over.  Requested new disks from support but had the same error.  Any ideas on what is wrong?

performing clean windows installation may solve your issue.
also, when you see lenovo logo, press f8 , then select "las good configuration" or "fix start-up issue" from the menu.

  • Photoshop CS6 Extended 64-bit Install error

Everytime I try to install photoshop it says that I have a pirated or non-genuine copy. I have googled it and installed the adobe manager but it still doesn't fix the issue. The 32 bit version installs fine but the 64 bit version keeps giving me the error. I have no clue what to do anymore, I am extremely frustrated that something I payed $400 for can't even install, not to mention the lack of information as to what I even need to do to resolve this issue. I hope someone can give me some advice as to what is exactly causing the issue, because the fact that the 32-bit version installed just fine but the 64-bit failed boggles my mind.

    Nevermind...
I was reading on line about the error (Google is such a wonderful thing) and saw that an error could be caused by a corrupt file. I redownloaded the file and found out that the original file was short. Old file: 788,064 KB. New file: 1,024,211 KB.
I wonder if there is a way to delete this thread...

  • 64 bit install error -45075  HELP

I removed itunes and tried to install the 64 bit version but i keep getting this error

Just in case the component being referenced is not part of iTunes but is rather part of one of the other related programs, it might be worth trying a complete uninstall/reinstall of iTunes and related componentry, as per the following troubleshooting document:

  • Another Windows 7 Install Error

    Here's what I've got:
    Bootcamp 5.0
    Mac Mini w/ 2 500gb drives
    Mountain Lion, and Lion Server
    Windows 7, Home Premium
Last night I went through maybe 10 progressive attempts at an install of Windows 7. First the screen went dark, I found solutions to that, so I was eventually able to get the Windows install to start. When I get to where I select the partition, I pick the bootcamp one, and format it. I know it formats to NTFS because when I reboot to OSX I can see it's NTFS.
The problem is, that I can't go beyond this point. I get an error that I can't install on that drive... (I'm at work, and I don't have the exact error text, but if it's necessary I can pull it up tonight). Has anyone ever had an error at this point? What have you done to fix it?
    Thank you!!

Remove the second drive while installing. Read the Boot Camp Help files http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/.

    Hello
I was unable to find the drivers searching with your product and model number as well.
I was able to keep searching and found this link and it was under our business site support. This is the drivers for your unit series and you should be able to download the fingerprint reader drivers from the link.
Let me know if this helps.

Is the SATA controller set to IDE, AHCI or RAID in BIOS?
If set to AHCI/RAID, you need to click on 'Load Driver' at the disk selection screen, and load the relevant ATI SB RAID driver from here:

I cannot install latest itunes to my Sony notebook which is running on traditional chinese windows 7 64-bit, the error message is something like unrecognized windows package, can any one help me or has similar experience? Thanks.

iTunes 9.0.x is certainly compatible with Win7 64 bit since I use that exact setup on 3 different PCs. Two suggestions for your installation problems:
1)Download a new copy of the 64 bit installer from Apple then, instead of just running the itunes installer right click on it and try 'run as adminstrator'. In my experience that clears up a world of problems with program installation in Win7 and Vista. This is necessary even if you're already logged in as an administrator.
    2) Try the previous version of iTunes (9.0.3). You can get a copy at http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.php?old_itunes=54 again right click on the file and "run as administrator"
    Good luck, hope this helps.
