Windows 7 64-bit Itunes crashes when I go to itunes store

Every thing seems to work fine except that when I try to access iTunes store it crashes, or update my apps.
I have updated my path C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support and no change.

I had exactly the same issue today with my Windows 8 PC, and I tried the suggestion below provided by another person in this forum - and it works.
Try adding C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support; to the system variables PATH
iTunes tries to use QTMovieWin.dll and that the file is in the directory
Guide to add a PATH:
Windows 8
Drag the Mouse pointer to the Right bottom corner of the screen
Click on the Search icon and type: Control Panel
Click on -> Control Panel -> System -> Advanced
Click on Environment Variables, under System Variables, find PATH, and click on it.
In the Edit windows, modify PATH by adding the location of the class to the value for PATH. If you do not have the item PATH, you may select to add a new variable and add PATH as the name and the location of the class as the value.
Close the window.
Windows 7
Select Computer from the Start menu
Choose System Properties from the context menu
Click Advanced system settings > Advanced tab
Click on Environment Variables, under System Variables, find PATH, and click on it.
In the Edit windows, modify PATH by adding the location of the class to the value for PATH. If you do not have the item PATH, you may select to add a new variable and add PATH as the name and the location of the class as the value.
Windows XP
Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Advanced
Click on Environment Variables, under System Variables, find PATH, and click on it.
In the Edit windows, modify PATH by adding the location of the class to the value for PATH. If you do not have the item PATH, you may select to add a new variable and add PATH as the name and the location of the class as the value.
Close the window.

  • ITunes crashes when trying to access iTunes Store

iTunes "crashes" when I try to access the iTunes Music store - I get all the current albums on the lower half of the page, but as the main part tries to load (lady gaga or whoever) iTunes "crashes" - I get the "ignore, report or relaunch" box. iTunes works fine otherwise.
Here's what I'm using -  Quicksilver PPC G4 @ 1.47GHz w/ 1GB RAM - OS X 10.5.8, iTunes 10.2.2, Quick Time 7.6.9, Safari 5.0.5. No Keychain problems - at least First Aid reports no problems, repaired permissions and rebooted. As far as I can tell, this issue started after the most recent iTunes update (which is why I hate so much to do so). Anyway, I'm buying all my music at Amazon at the moment, so if Apple wants me back in THEIR store I kinda need a fix for this.
Thanks in advance to all for your help -
    Robert
    P. S. - is it just me, or is this new "discussions" format really a step backwards?

Well, as far as I can see, no one has responded to this question. Nor do I see any solutions mentioned in other questions by folks having the same problem. So I can only assume that there IS no fix.
Oh well, I know that one user is just "small potatoes" as far as the iTunes Store is concerned, but they've just lost this frequent little revenue stream - their loss, Amazon's gain.
Good-bye iTunes store - it was fun while it lasted...

By crashing I mean iTunes wont respond and i have to go into my task manager to close it. I can browse iTunes fine but as soon as I touch the 2 previous issues it wont respond.
I've tried running it as administer
Tried running iTunes in safe mode
tried uninstalling it completely and re downloading it (as well as restarting my computer before re downloading iTunes)
I am just trying to get my info off of my Iphone 5 to put on my 6+
Same crashing results when plugging both iphone 5 and 6+

Is your computer (or its operating system) too old to support the current iTunes?
Try downloading iTunes from here.  But as you visit this site, note the version of iTunes it is offering to download for you:

  • Itunes crashes when I am in the store and try to look at an album

    Itunes ver: 10.3.1.55
    Windows XP SP3
    Description of problem:
When I launch ITunes store, it launches ok most of the time (works 100% if I don't launch any other applications at the same time).  Then I will type something into the search bar.  When the results come up, if I click to see an album, iTunes crashes.  And I don't get any sort of Itunes error, I actually just get the "Please tell Microsoft about this problem" error.
Please advise.  I have tried most of the fixes on the Apple web site that I could find. I'm pretty sure it's not a firewall or anti-virus issue.  It does not happen on the other computers in the house, of course they are all Apples.

That one can indicate disk or file damage, brandon.
The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you now access the store without the error?

  • ITunes Crashed when attempting to access Music Store

hello. I am using iTunes 6.0.5.20 as of today, and continue to have a problem carried over from the previous version...
when I attempt to access the iTunes music store in the regular manner the program closes without any error messages, the icon remaining in the system tray until i scroll my mouse over it upon which it disappears - the program crashes outright -
i have e-mailed apple support and attempted to use all of their automatically generated solutions in solving this problem including -
upgrading (was never the issue i stay up-to-date generally)
checking my network and program access settings including firewalls etc.
    run the repair process
run the un-install re-install process of both itunes and quicktime
i've also tried re-calibrating the itunes library by deleting the appropriate files and having itunes re-determine the included files... nonetheless the problem remains
this is becoming immensely frustrating and to be frank, i work in the recording industry and for all the talk about apple support - i have been immensely frustrated by the lack of personal support whatsoever - i have received only automated responses regarding online documentation... as if i didn't spend horus trying to solve the problem before sending an e-mail at all.
please if anybody has any ideas i'm desperate to solve this.
    cheers
    elias

Your problem is the same one affecting countless iTunes users, including myself. There seems to be a common factor in that most if not all are using Windows XP Pro and I've noticed that the computer make, when listed, is a Dell. I have been through all the same Apple fixes, waited on hold for support for 1 1/2 hours just to be hung up on. I've had this issue for over a month and it has transcended both iTunes ver 6.0.4 and 6.0.5. Interesting thing, sometimes I get an error message telling me iTunes has to shut down and most of the time, the application closes unexpectantly and I have the same icon in the system tray till I hover my mouse over it. Frustration has turned to anger and a desire to find another product to get music into my and my 2 kids Ipods. I'll keep an eye on your post and let you know if I uncover anything as well.

  • ITunes crashes when trying to access the store

For the past few days my iTunes hasn't been working properly. At first it started by 'Not Responding' as soon as I would open it. Windows would run it's little test and ask me to close the window. I uninstalled it and re-installed it and it seemed to work fine, except now instead of crashing as soon as I open it, it occurs when I open the store. I've tried installing 11.3 and still had the issue. I've done all the things I can find online such as copying the QTMovieWin.dll and quite a few other things. If I ask Windows to debug it I get two errors, they are:
    -      An unhandled exception occurred in iTunes.exe [8912]
    -      Unhandled exception at 0x5AC09908 (CoreFoundation.dll) in iTunes.exe 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000070.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance

  • ITunes Crash When Attempting to access iTunes Store

So, here's an interesting one for you. Every time I try to access the iTunes store, iTunes decides to crash on me. No error message, nothing. Just poof gone.
It worked yesterday when I plugged in my iPod Touch and got it running for the first time. Everything else I've tried on iTunes works (with the exception of .avi files not importing, but I assume that's normal). If I access the App Store via my iPod, it works. It's just the store interface in iTunes.

I'll go ahead and provide the entire diagnostic thing, since more information is always good, and the diagnostic's full text isn't that much longer.

iTunes works fine until I try to go to the store. Right as it is about to finish loading the home page of the store, I get a window that says it has stopped working. • ITunes crashing when connecting to the store on Windows 8.1

    Hello,
I had iTunes crashing when connecting to the iTunes Store with an Apple ID. I tried unsucessfully all the solutions posted on the many threads of people having the same issue. So I decided to reinstall Windows. A clean Windows 8.1 install from the Microsoft DVD. And guess what, it is still crashing! How can this even be possible?
    The problem:
    - iTunes crashes when connecting to the store with an Apple ID. It connects, briefly freezes, then crashes.
    - I can access the store without an Apple ID without crashes. But it crashes as soon as I connect with an Apple ID.
    The system:
    - A clean, fully updated, Windows 8.1 Pro w/ WMC install from the Microsoft DVD.
    - Applications I installed, along with iTunes: Adobe Reader, Google Chrome, Skype, Office 2013. Nothing else. No crapware. No nothing. These are fairly common applications that shouldn't conflict with iTunes.
    - Antivirus is the built-in Windows Defender.
    - Firewall is the built-in Windows Firewall.
    - Intel HD Graphics 3000 on an Acer V3-571-6486
    - I have not moved Apple's folder from Romaing and Local AppData of the old systems... So it's a clean iTunes profile.
    - I can sucessfully sign-in to the iTunes Store with this account on another computer
    - I have tried with multiple accounts on this computer, all crashing
There are tons of threads about this. I tried all the solutions posted, including:
    - Adding "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support" to the PATH environment variable
    - Copying QTMovieWin.dll from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes"
    - Moving QTMovieWin.dll from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes"
    - Updating the graphics card to the latest available driver from Intel's website (9.17.10.3517, 2014-10-04)
    - Downgrade the graphics driver (9.17.10.3347, 2014-01-29)
    - Use the graphic's driver from Acer's website.
    - Use Microsoft's Basic VGA Driver
    - Disable the Graphic's Adapter entirely
    - Have tried to monitor the process with ProcMon, looking for a hint like a missing file or registry entry, but have not found anything helpful.
These solutions seem to have worked for almost everyone, but not me. The crash details in the Windows Application log are useless. Faulty module name is 'unknown'.
I am out of solutions. Is there anything left to do? Can anyone out Apple debug the dump file or something? Is there any way to contact Apple about this issue?
    Many thanks.

    Hey zoyashahab,
Ok, so it sounds like there are two issues here we want to address, the first being the iTunes Store connection issue and the second being iTunes not recognizing your iOS devices.
First, I'd start with troubleshooting the recognition by following the steps in here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
If after getting that running again, you still can't connect to the iTunes Store, then I'd go through the troubleshooting steps in here:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
    Best,
    Delgadoh

Itunes crashes when importing Music File or Folder ever since i updated it yesterday

You can try downloading 7-Zip (free), or a free trial of WinRAR, and unpack the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe file into its components then try installing them individually in alphabetical order (don't try to install SetupAdmin.exe or iCloud.msi). You may get a more useful error message as to which component has problems.
