Windows 7 anyone?

if i install a windows 7 copy, is there anyway i can get my defualt HP image back to my installation?, basically all the free software liek roxio and others, can i download and install them on our laptop or desktop after upgrade?

Dan, I don't believe that you can download the software. The software that comes with your computer is on the Recovery Disks, but none of it can be installed separately. You have to do a complete recovery. Therefore, you can't use it with another OS. The companies want you to buy new copies.

OEM 10.1.0.4 (with 9.0.4.2) on WINDOWS ANYONE ??????

Is anyone on the Windows platform using OEM Grid Control 10.1.0.4 with the iAS component patched up to 9.0.4.2 ? We currently have 10.1.0.4 with the 9.0.4.0 iAS component installed.
If you look at the Oracle January 2006 Critical Patch Update, Oracle is saying you have to upgrade to 10.1.0.4 with either 9.0.4.1 or 9.0.4.2 iAS component. So far, Oracle has yet to explain how to do this because there is a bug preventing us from going to either 9.0.4.1 or 9.0.4.2 component of iAS. I have had a Severity 1 SR open with Oracle for a few days now and can not get anyone at Oracle to explain the upgrade path. They can't even give me a patch number !

Hi, I'm on this version but not patched it yet. I'm waiting for Release 2 (hopefully sometime before xmas lol) which has some bug fixes we require and the patches don't fix. No point in doing 2 installations so close to each other.

Mac Pro boots automatically into windows anyone else?

Installed bootcamp and now if I hit restart it boots into windows automatically

I have selected the mac Hd as the boot up, but if I don't hit the option key it will go straight into windows.

You must be careful about what USB devices you plug into the keyboard. A mouse would be okay but you have to realise that the keyboard is an unpowered USB device and cannot power other devices, well anything needing more than a few milliamps anyway. So running sound sticks from the keyboard is not a good idea and the Mac should have thrown up a warning that it could not provide sufficient power to those speakers. Generally the USB ports on a keyboard are not much use for anything except a mouse or a dongle that some software suppliers demand be used to authenticate their software's legitimate use.

Can you put on songs in queue from your PC (windows) to play from another device?

You might have stumbled upon my other topic about queue problems with my PS4, i got a response from Spotify support that didnt help much, so i tried experimenting a little. Instead of just trying to play from the ps4, i tried playing through my phone using connect. The queue-system totally messes up when trying to queue from windows, anyone else have this problem? I have actually tried with 2 laptops now. with the same result, so now i want to know what your experience is :) Can you try this out to help me? I want to know if this is ... just how it works or if its just a problem for me-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I gave the support guy an example on how things work, you dont have to read this to answer the question above, but it might enlighten my issue a bit more? =)----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As you can see by the description of the problem, i know how the connect feature works. And i know how to queue songs. I can queue songs from my mobile (sony xperia z3) when using the connect feature. I can queue songs on the ps4 app and it works without any problems. Ill give you an example.
Example is that i play from my ps4, the pc and the phone are connected with the connect feature
- I put on a song using my pc --> the spotify app on the ps4 starts playing music- I put a song in queue from my phone- I put a song in queue using my ps4 controller (at this point, the two songs i put on queue shows correctly up in the queue menu on spotify on PC)- I skip to next song - queue works correctly, the next song plays. I skip again and the third song plays, no problems, it works fine!- I now do the same, i put on the same two songs in queue, using my phone and my controller.- I put one song in queue from my pc (suddenly the previous songs i skipped also shows up (duplicates, since the songs i put on the other time are there too)- I press next song --- now the songs in queue are just skipped. They are still in queue, but they will not be played. The song beneath the queue list will be played instead
This is just an example. I can disconnect my phone from connect and only use my PC and the queue problems are still there, so im guessing its some problem with the app or some setting on my PC.

it's been like 2 weeks since I did the update of itunes and everything to get my ipod shuffle 4th generation, and also did all the troubleshooting from the apple page, and nothing happens. It doesn't connect to itunes or windows.

I'm having the same problem, my brand new Ipod shuffle isn't recognized by my pc, or Itunes. I have tried everything suggested in troubleshooting. Did I just waste $50 on something that doesn't work? I'm afraid if I send the Ipod back for another one I will have the same problem. Any suggestions ?

T. Kujala to correctly install Windows 8.1, if you have already followed the instruction, and the issue persists, then please post a screen shot of the "prompt command displayed on the screen" you mentioned for better understanding. Meanwhile,
please make sure that the installation CD itself is not broken.

How to play videos in the itunes 11 window? Not in a separate one !

I accidentally click on the thumbnail in the progress bar while playing a video and the video poped up, now every video pops up, I want to be able to play them in the same Itunes window, Anyone knows how to?

kind of. It does spawn a new window, which is great (thanks!). But it seems to be at a lower resolution - does iTunes compress further or display at lower res? What is the function that people are supposed to be able to use to use iTunes as a media center to watch movies?

Actually what happens is it finds the addressbook window from repository
but when coming back to original window it just display blank screen.
I make one mail window and one addressbook window.
If someone clink on addressbook on to option of mail window,
one small adressbook window get opend.
and when on adressbook window anyone click on button
it fires one event that is in component controller.
and i make it's event handler in the email window.
But problem is that at returning time it just give me blank screen.

Cannot open firefox in more than one window

I cannot open Firefox in more than one window. I deleted and reinstalled the latest version but this did not help. I was able to open Firefox in multiple windows prior to installing an update of Avast. Don't think it should have an effect on Firefox.
Downloaded Seamonkey and have no problem with multiple windows.

Windows stops working

windows keeps stopping and restarting when I try to access files have rebooted as told by Microsoft help line all they are interested in now is selling me a service to access my laptop and sort out the problem for me £65 total rip off for a faulty system
as I have seen on forums this is a common issue with windows anyone any suggestion as I don't have that kind of money

Mac Formatted iPod - Backup up songs via Windows

Don't ask - I haven't got access to a Mac at the moment - my iPOd is formatted as Mac - and I want to get the music off so I can start using it for a while with Windows - anyone know any freeware to do this?

Update - managed to do this with free trial of Xplay - now question is - if I use both Windows and Macs Iis it better to format as Windows?

IMac 27" gaming on Windows 7 overheating and graphic freeze

When i play battlefield 3 in WINDOWS 7 on my brand new iMac 27" i 7, after some time the computer gets EXTREMLY hot and graphics start to freeze.
Im 100% sure its the graphic card/ processor who gets to warm. It sounds like the fans runs on full power to. (it only happens in windows)
Anyone know if there is a solution?

My earlier iMac from 2010 gets so hot that the motherboard and graphic card burned off, and apple gave me a new iMac.

Off course a tower solution will be optimal for gaming...
Except from the overheating problem, my iMac (2 gb graphic ram) runs Battlefield 3 extremely perfect. Im just affraid of everytime my mac gets warm it will be a little damaged, and like my old mac suddenly die.
Everytime my mac has overheated, it feels like osx is getting a bit slower. (feels like im slowly burn up my cpu)
Now i downloaded MAC FAN to controll fan speed in windows, but i dont have much hope because the fans already sounds like they run very fast, and are very noisy after gaming a couple of hours.

Internet drop outs on my G5 since I use a wired router instead of wireless

Hi guys!
I used to have wireless internet at home (1 x G5 & 2 x windows laptops). Internet worked fine and fast. Although I couldn't get all computers into a internal network (for easy sharing files...), but that's not the issue now.
Anyway, I have a new roommate in the house that doesn't have wireless on his windows pc. So, I connected all computers to a 4 ports router. I ditched the whole wireless thing because I couldn't get it working together with the wired router thing. So all computers are linked to the router by cable.
Now, at first everything worked fine. All computers had internet and I even had my long awaited network so that I could share files at high speed between computers (mac - windows). Suddenly, I guess after a couple of hours, my mac started having difficulties finding the network. At times I have no internet, or it takes looooooooooooooong to load up webpages and sharing files with my windows laptop takes like 6hours for 3giga (which normally is done in a couple of minutes). My windows laptop has no problem with internet, no drop out no nothing, everything works fine (except sending files to my mac which also takes hours...).
Anybody knows what to do?
Also anyone knows if the following is possible:
- cable comes in my house (WAN)
- goes to wired 4port router
- from the router 1 wire goes directly to a pc
- from the router another wire goes to my wireless accesspoint which then would be used to connect 1 or more wireless pc's.
- with all that, I'd like to have internet on all computers AND have a fully working network between all computers (mac and windows)
Anyone knows if this is possible?

The wireless access point is a D Link Airplus G+ 2.4Ghz. It has no extra ethernet ports.
I also thought of having a wireless router with extra ethernet ports. But of course this would mean another cost... I was hoping that I could fix it with the things I allready own.
But, nevertheless, there might be a little change in things as I just tried connecting with the second ethernet port on my mac. Haven't had any problems yet (+/- 10minutes). Am gonna try to send big files to my laptop in order to test the speed between them.
Will get back with the results.

Downloading and Installing 'Additional' Content

Hi There,
So I managed to download the 'additional content' - I entered my password to install it and the window popped up saying installing... Then I swiped to a different 'desktop' - I was in full screen mode in Lion - when I returned the installing progress bar window had dissappeard and nothing seemed to be installed. When trying to download it again, it started from 0kb! This kinda ***. It also doesn't say 'installed' in the 'Download Additional Content' window
Anyone know how to solve this? Or what went wrong in the first place?
Also does anyone know where the temporary file or 'installer' or whatever get's downloaded? In NZ we still get charged by the gigabyte (yes I know) so I don't wanna have to download 5Gb 7 times until I get it working. So it would be nice to save that file somewhere if that helps at all.

Watching and waiting to see what happens is always a handy tip.
Minimising the window isn't the problem - you can quit Logic and it'll ask you if you want to continue the download.
And answering one's own question is something that we all have to master.
