Windows 7 rc error event id 6008
Hey ppl, I've notice people on this forum with similar problems but not exactly the same as mine... I've been using win 7 RC x86 for the past month and it worked great. About 4 days ago it started randomly crashing but with no blue screen of death. It crashed like someone pulled the plug on the machine so my monitor shows a black screen getting no video input however my power light on my pc stays on... After it happened 3 times in one day i did a clean install... It worked great for a day and then happened again... It happens at random time intervals and except for one time, while i am not using the pc... It is getting really annoying now, I will prob try another clean install but it may just happen the same way again... I tried the memory test and it returned with no problems... And I did not install much applications since the last time i re installed... just office, photoshop and nero 8... I have my power setting set to never turn the monitor off nor the hard drive and i don't use a screen saver...normally when i leave the machine i just turn my monitor off...
Here is the error i got in event viewer...

Please run a window performance recorder trace using the re-boot configuration and upload the event viewer logs
In order to diagnose your problem we need to run Windows performance toolkit the instructions for which can be found in this
wiki
If you have any questions feel free to ask
Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:
Click Start Menu
Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
Expand Custom Views
Click Administrative Events
Right click Administrative Events
Save all Events in Custom View As...
Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
Right click Errors.evtx -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
Upload the .zip file to Onedrive or a file sharing service and put a link to it in your next post
If you have updated to win 8.1 and you get the error message "the system cannot find the file specified" it is a known problem.
The work around is to edit the registry. If you are not comfortable doing this DONT. If you are, backup the key before you do
Press Win+"R" and input regedit
Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WINEVT\Channels. Delete "Microsoft-Windows-DxpTaskRingtone/Analytic"

Windows Visual C++ error (?)
I've been burning discs via ITunes for six months w/o issue. I recently started having a problem: After the cd burning finishes I get a quick audio blast followed by a 'Windows Visual C++' error tab on my bottom toolbar, and a rotating blue hourglass. This rotating hourglass does not go away unless I restart my pc. I have ITunes 7.5 installed. Any ideas? Thank you.
Could you please paste the whole error message here or check the event viewer to find error information about office and windows explorer?
Please keep you win7 up-to-date, you can also try

This issue may be caused by corrupted files or application conflicts. I recommend you to run "sfc /scannow" at the command prompt to check the system files. In addition, you can perform a clean boot to see if any service is causing the issue.
If the above cannot solve it, maybe you can find if there is any hotfix for the application or uninstall the application.
Best regards,

Hi,
I developed a plugin which captures Before/After open, close and save events and perform some operation inside these events.
I tested the plugin in Windows XP and Acrobat 9.0.0 and 10.0.0 and everything works fine. But when in test my plugin on Windows Server 2008 Standard 32 bits, then windows detect an error while closing the acrobat and shows the following message:
"Data Execution Prevention has closed Adobe Acrobat"
I am using Acrobat 10.0.0 for testing in Windows Server 2008 operating system. Also, debugging the program shows no error but plugin does not produce the desired result when tested on Windows Server 2008 Standard 32 bits operating system.
Can anyone please giude me how to resolve this issue??
Thanks in advance! Are you really using 10.0.0? You've installed no updates to it??

Windows 7 Backup Error 0x8078002A
I upgraded my main computer to Windows 7 Home Premium which has a C drive (500 GB) and a Raid 5 SATA array (2.7 TB) on drive D:. I tried to backup the install as an image on the D: drive and I get the following error code 0x8078002A and a comment about an I/O error and one of the backup files could not be created.
I plugged in a USB external hard drive in and it works.
This computer is part of a gigabit switched home network (the main file server), so I tried to back up one of the home computers (running W7 Professional) through the network onto a shared folder on drive D: and I get the same error. The backup gets 27% of the way through on both computers and then fails.
I have updated the Raid driver (I had to as part of the W7 install).
Any ideas or solutions on this one?
Secondly, can I copy the backup off the USB drive onto the D: drive and have a reliable backup, or will that corrupt the backup?
Thanks for your helpHello,
Identical experience.
I don't know if this is relevant but some external drives & Windows 7 x64 SP1 backup don't seem to work well together:
cf:
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/1780.windows-small-business-server-external-backup-drives-compatibility-list.aspx?PageIndex=9 which makes a list of other "failing" external drives with MS Windows products.
I use also an 'old' Iomega "Prestige" 1TB model LPHD-UP3 connected by USB3 to fast recent (end 2011) laptop with W7 SP1 x64 with all KBs (this Vaio laptop works like a dream).
Windows BU failed three times (I tried with & without external HD cache). So this looks like a lack lustre "Prestige" solution.
Yesterday, I just saved 100 GB of data from Laptop to this external drive (explorer copy/paste) and it went fine (64MB/s average throughput). I looked at the characterisics of this external drive with HD Tune Pro (smart etc.) and HD drive seemed OK.
Chckdsk /f /x ran on it with no problem found.
So, one would tend to infer that the internal drive in this external box is probably OK.
However, Iomega "added value" between the hard drive & my laptop (I mean the hardware component + Iomega software to run the usb3 to sata III interface) may be a technical disaster (product ref p/n 31922900 s/n GSAB136901) in this specific instance,
as I am not the only one who suffers damages due perhaps to this non-working product as a Windows backup external solution.
I have also a similar Raidsonic ICY Box ib-273stu3-b external HD enclosure but I have lent it to a kid to restore his clugged & corrupted W7 OS on his laptop this week at his boarding school so I will try it next week with WS BU to circumvent
the issue. I know it works well with AHTI but I don't remember with WS BU. NB: I am not an immoderate fan of AHTI. It let me down at restore time twice on a complex config and I could recover thanks to another WS BU file ("belts & braces"
practice). However, here, I just mention it worked.
I have also another similar but heavier multi-purposes Icy Box IB-120CL-U3 that I could use for tests but I have to change desk & room and I feel lazy today. Next week hopefully.
After the first failure yesterday, I used Acronis True Image Home also for same OS full image to the network NAS. It took 2 hours last night on a 100 Mb/s ethernet connection for 60GB but at least it finished OK and this machine is protected if its
HD crashes (all user data is saved separately on the fly (real time) with Goodsync to a NAS in RAID1 + 6 periodic AHTI incremental images for "belt & braces").
As I am pig headed, I tried WS Backup again twice today. Same failures so I am satisfied the behaviour of this set is consistent!
I post error events logs & screen capture picture in appendix, hoping more knowledgeable people can do something with it or learn from the incident for themselves.
Ideas to solve welcomed.
Needless to repeat that Back-Ups can be CRITICAL for all of us, so failures to BU or to Restore are not be looked at lightly.

I get on one AD/DC, DNS server in the shool an warning error, event id: 16002;
"Closing a UDP socket with local port number 49631 in process 1160 is taking longer than expected. The local port number may not be available until the close operation is completed. This happens typically due to misbehaving network drivers. Ensure latest
updates are installed for Windows and any third-party networking software including NIC drivers, firewalls, or other security products. "
Anny idea why i get this error and why the server hangs till reboot. I can't do annything while the error is running only reboot by pushing the power button.
I have allready checked the drivers and they look up to date. This thee third time in 3 weeks.
Hope someone has a solution.Hi,

Bonjour keeps generating error event 100 in windows 8.1 event viewer. It's there 128 times in a week! What does it mean?
Hey Michael,
That error could be cause by a conflict with the firewall on your computer. Take a look at the articles below to go over some troubleshooting as well as verifying that Bonjour was properly installed on your computer.

Report Server Windows Service SQLEXPRESS Error 107 on startup
Hi,
After reviewing the top related threads I didn't find what I'm looking for. People either gave up, or shut down the service. I'd like to solve this.
After investigating the problem on my server, I find the Report Server is doing just fine and this appears to be a transient error during boot as the other MSDN threads have indicated; evidently the SQL server is not yet ready when Reporting Services
looks for it.
While we could ignore this error, most of us would like to only see errors that are real, otherwise the real errors can get lost in the noise. So,
1) If the Report Server Windows Service were delayed during boot, would that stop the error event from occurring?
2) Assuming the answer to #1 above is yes, how do I delay the Report Server Windows Service?
Thanks.
Best Regards,
AlanHi Alberto, (again :-))
Thank you kindly for your quick response.
I had already read that TechNet article, so thanks for confirming I am on the right track. But that article, nor it's children articles, doesn't explain how to stop the error, unless I looked at the answer and didn't recognize it.
But I do recognize your alternative answer which I think is the solution I should use.
So, if you don't mind helping with some very basic instruction/confirmation:
Batch file content: I understand batch files themselves quite well. I wouldn't have known how to do the instruction you gave without your help. Thanks again. After the step above when I want to start the service,
am I correct that the next line in the batch file would be:
Net start ReportServer
I looked at Properties for the 'SQL Server Reporting Services' and that's the service name that was listed. It also changed in the Administrative Tools > Services panel when I stopped and started the Report Server from the Reporting Services Configuration
Manager. (SVRTFS\MSSQLSERVER) (SVRTFS being the name of the server I am working with)
Batch file activation: Would you mind just confirming for me the
best way to have the batch file run on server boot. What's the
best place to save the batch file and what's the best way to ensure the batch file runs at the appropriate time?
You mentioned powershell. Is there a reason that would be better than a regular batch file? I'm still beginning and don't quite understand the difference between powershell and not powershell.
But I do want this process to be automatic which is where I think you are driving me.
Thanks.
Best Regards,
Alan -

</Event>Can you let us know if you get any Blue Screen crush error while using your comptuer?
Generally we can safely ignore the errors in the Event log. Aas we don't if you have get other issues in your computer, you can test your computer in the Clean Boot mode. This method will help us determine if this issue is caused by a loading program or service.
You can try the the following steps:
1. Click the Start Button type "msconfig" (without quotation marks) in the Start Search box, and then press Enter.
2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray).
3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK".
Then, restart the computer. When the "System Configuration Utility" window appears, please check the "Don't show this message or launch the System Configuration Utility when Windows starts" box and click OK.
Please test this issue in this Clean Boot environment, if the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, you can use the dichtomy to quickly narrow down which entry is causing the issue. You can refer to the
KB929135.
Good luck!
John
This is a very poor answer. This guy doesn't know what he's talking about because if you tell someone its ok to "safely ignore the errors in the event log" as a blanket instruction ESPECIALLY because as he stated so himself
he didn't know if there were other issues with the OP's pc then he's giving really bad advice. If you ignore errors in the event log then over time your system will degrade and you will have other issues.. Every error on your pc should NOT be ignored.
It should be decided on a case by case situation.
Furthermore this is an error involving the Windows Session which it states has failed. Definitely should NOT be ignored.
I've got the same error which has suddenly just showed up. No BSOD, Do not have WHS installed and all my media center connectors have NEVER been connected. I don't believe this is a service issue. I think it has something
to do with kernel event tracing.
Of course, it's just my opinion....I could be wrong!
