Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) Create a System Image Failure (error code: 0x80780119)

Hello,
I recently bought a new 1 TB hard drive, and I want to move everything from my original 250 GB to the new one. I have read from numerous sources that Creating a System Image through Windows 7, and then restoring that system image using the Windows 7 OS disc,
is the safest way to do so. My problem lies in creating the system image. I have looked up the error code and found that the usual problem is not having enough space, specifically on the System Reserved partition of the drive.
On the original 250 GB hard drive, the C: partition has 45 GB of free space, while the System Reserved partition has 69 MB of free space. On the new 1 TB hard drive, the only partition has 747 GB of free space (this is because I was originally going to manually
move only certain files, such as games, but halfway I decided that I want to move everything over).
On the 250 GB hard drive, the main partition that houses the OS and my other files is, as I said above, labeled C:. The System Reserved partition, also on the 250 GB hard drive is labeled G:. The only partition on the new 1 TB hard drive is labeled F:.
From what I can tell, based on similar questions and their responses as well as the information given from the system image error, I should be able to create the system image without any problems. When I try to create the image (I check the boxes for both
partitions, C: and G: when asked what drives to create an image of), I receive the same error code, 0x80780119, along with the message about not having enough space on one of the volumes.
I'm all out of ideas, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your help,
Joshua Ratliff

  • 10.5.8 System Image Utility Error Codes (1305:10b)

I have been building images for a lab setting for a few years now, and have never had a problem until now. I just built the image computer how I would like it. I hook it up to my sever and boot it into target disk mode. The server reads it fine. However, when I go to create a netinstall image with system image utility I get the following errors (see below). I tried to verify permissions and the disk. I also repaired the permissions because it found a few problems. I'm stilling getting the errors below and I have had no luck figuring out what they mean or how to get the image to work. Any help would be a lifesaver. Thanks in advance.

I've downloaded the correct driver (Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit) and upon installation I receive the message 'The Operating System of this computer is not supported. For a list of supported Operating Systems blah blah blah....'
I'm using a standard USB connection.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Hello @rossinnit and welcome to the HP Forums!
I'd like to help you get the Deskjet 2542 installed on your Windows 7 PC
I'd recommend that you download and run the HP Printer Install Wizard, and that will seek out the drivers online (from the HP web page) and download them for you and then start the install as well.
With that tool you can plug in the USB cable when it asks near the beginning to find the right drivers.
Let me know how things go for you!

  • "Windows Explorer Has Stopped Working" Error Message Loop upon Startup of WIndows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Ok I have a HP Touchsmart 6000 running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS.  It is my 74 year old mothers computer and about 3 months ago it started acting up.  First thing that happened was the internal DVD Burner started working intermitently, recognizing
her QuickBooks backup DVD files occasionally.  I got her a new  internal DVD burner and it worked for a while.   during that time on Startup Help and Support would all of a sudden popup right away.    Then recently Adobe Acrobat would
launch a PDF file about Flash and keep opening multiple instances of it.   Now her new DVD doesnt work again and on startup at the windows desktop she gets an error "Windows Explorer has Stopped Working".   No matter what I click the error
keeps looping.  No program has been opened that causes it to crash because the error happens immediately and keeps repeating.   I have tried to boot to Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking and have tried System Restore to no avail.
I have ran Malwarebytes Antivirus, Malwarebytes AntiExploit, AntiRootkit as well as Combofix.   I have run the AntiMalware software from Microsoft and have updated all the drivers for the HP system.   To no succcess.
At one point the system did load and an error came up JAN2OSD failed to start due to missing ACPI or something like that.  For that brief moment Explorer stopped crashing.   When I finished updating  driverss though the error  came back.
Please Help  as she is about to cry and no one wants to make a 74 year old woman cry.:)
    Thanks,
    Jeff

  • Help -- New Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit BSOD - nothing new installed

I read through the suggested forum questions and found nothing helpful.
My 2-year old Dell XPS running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit decided three days ago to give me the BSOD (while I was away and the computer was just in idle/sleep since I rebooted just before I went away). It has had no new hardware or software recently installed.
That leads me to conclude it might be an update. Safe Mode and Safe Model with Networking seem to run fine. But even when I Restore to a known good configuration from a month ago, it still BSODs on any updates -- Windows, Firefox, System Mechanic, etc. I even
de-installed Adobe Shockwave since it appeared to have done an update while I was away, but that hasn't helped.
    Suggestions?

    Hi,
In order to assist you, we will need the .DMP files to analyze what exactly occurred at the time of the crash, etc.
If you don't know where .DMP files are located, here's how to get to them:
    1. Navigate to the %systemroot%\Minidump folder.
    2. Copy any and all DMP files in the Minidump folder to your Desktop and then zip up these files.
    3. Upload the zip containing the .DMP files to Onedrive or a hosting site of your choice and paste in your reply. Prefered sites: Onedrive, Mediafire, Dropbox, etc. Nothing with wait-timers.
4 (optional): The type of .DMP files located in the Minidump folder are known as Small Memory Dumps. In %systemroot% there will be what is known as a Kernel-Dump (if your system is set to generate). It is labeled MEMORY.DMP. The difference
between Small Memory Dumps and Kernel-Dumps in the simplest definition is a Kernel-Dump contains
much more information at the time of the crash, therefore allowing further debugging of your issue. If your upload speed permits it, and you aren't going against any strict bandwidth and/or usage caps, etc, the Kernel-Dump is the best
choice. Do note that Kernel-Dumps are much larger in size due to containing much more info, which is why I mentioned upload speed, etc.
Please note that any "cleaner" programs such as TuneUp Utilities, CCleaner, etc, by default will delete .DMP files upon use.
If your computer is not generating .DMP files, please do the following:
    1. Start > type %systemroot% which should show the Windows folder, click on it. Once inside that folder, ensure there is a Minidump folder created. If not, CTRL-SHIFT-N to make a New Folder and name it Minidump.
    2. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Ensure there's a check-mark for 'Automatically manage paging file size for all
    drives'.
    3. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > System Failure > ensure there is a check mark next to 'Write an event to the system
    log'.
Ensure Small Memory Dump is selected and ensure the path is %systemroot%\Minidump.
    4. Double check that the WERS is ENABLED:
Start > Search > type services.msc > Under the name tab, find Windows Error Reporting Service > If the status of the service is not Started then right click it and select Start. Also ensure that under Startup Type it is set to Automatic rather than
Manual. You can do this by right clicking it, selecting properties, and under General selecting startup type to 'Automatic', and then click Apply.
If you cannot get into normal mode to do any of this, please do this via Safe Mode.

    Patrick

  • Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit backup failed (0x80780119)

first I try to install windows 7 ultimate RTM 64 bit on Hitachi 80G sata hard drive, after fresh install I create a system Image to DVD it backup ok no problem at all.
I received seagate 320G HD replace, I restore the Image from DVD to 320G hard drive, after I install photoshop and some thing I need. now I try to make a system image to external hard drive or dvd I got the same error
" Threre is not enough disk space to create the volum shadow copy on storage location. Make sure that for all volume to be backup up, the minimum disk space required for shadow copy creation is available. this applies to both the backup storage destination and volume included in the backup. Minimum requirement for Volumes less than 500 megabytes, the minimum is 50 megabyte of free space. for voulimes more than 500 megabytes, the minimum is 320 megabytes of free space. Recommended at least 1 gigabytes free of disk space on each volumes if volumes size is more than 1 gigabytes (0x80780119)"
I unplug all device just use only seagate 320GB and My external hard drive has 400G space.
    some one help please.

According to the error message, it indicated that there is not enough disk space to do a system image backup on the computer. Firstly, Windows 7 has a 100MB system partition that Windows setup during the installation that was under capacity, but not every computer has the 100M on their computer. Now, I suggest you check the disk usage in disk management carefully and make sure all the partitions have enough space to do system backup image:
Click Start->Right Click on Computer->Choose Manage->Expand Storage->Click on Disk Management
You can see the clearly of the usage of the whole hard drive. Please check it carefully and make sure all partitions have enough space.
Notice: if you have some hidden partition on the computer, please also make sure the hidden partition has the enough rest space to do the system image on the computer.
If you only have one partition to save the system files on the computer, maybe there will be a problem of backup system image. At this time, we can shrink a partition in disk management, and then do a system backup again to test this issue.
Also, this error may be caused by the system image backup configuration on the computer or some related components or services or registry incorrect on the computer, you can follow the below steps to check it firstly:
    1. Run “vssadmin list writers” to check if there is any error.
    2. Register related dll files (we can ignore error messages if there is any)
    cd /d %windir%\system32
    Net stop vss
    Net stop swprv
    regsvr32 ole32.dll
    regsvr32 vss_ps.dll
    regsvr32 es.dll
    regsvr32 stdprov.dll
    regsvr32 msxml3.dll
    regsvr32 msxml.dll
    regsvr32 msxml4.dll
    3. Stop related services
    a) Volume Shadow Copy Service.
    b) Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider.
    c) COM+ event system
    d) COM+ System Application
    4. Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software\Microsoft\EventSystem\{26c409cc-ae86-11d1-b616-00805fc79216}\Subscript, delete the "Subscriptions" key and leave the EventClasses key
    5. Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VolSnap add MinDiffAreaFileSize (DWORD) and set the value to 3000
    6. Restart above services
    7. Restart to check the issue
And then, you can follow the below detail instructions to set the configuration and do a system image backup again:
How to Create a System Image Backup in Windows 7
In addition, you can try to back up the whole system image on the local disk to test this issue, please don’t backup the system image on the external hard drive or DVD directly. If you can back up the whole system image on the local disk, we can copy the system image to your external hard disk or DVD.
Also, you can use a different imaging app to do a system image. Such as Macrium Reflect FREE Edition - Information and download

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended freezes on startup under Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit - No splash screen

I installed my licensed copy of Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended today as part of my install a bunch of software after a reinstall of Windows (due to viruses).  I did a completely fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.  I've used Photoshop CS3 Extended for quite a while now so I know what to expect on startup but it was previously installed under Windows XP Professional (32-bit). Figured I would give Windows 7 a chance this time around.
Google searches aren't turning up anything.  When I attempt to start the application, I get a window with the title "Adobe Photoshop CS3" (no "Extended" - I seem to recall the title changes later) and the toolbar appears.  However, no splash screen appears and no Product Activation wizard appears - the application simply freezes on an empty frame and a toolbar.  I've tried running Photoshop as Administrator (right-click, "Run As Administrator"), but nothing changed there.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling.  I tried upgrading to CS3 10.0.1.  Nothing works.  The application simply freezes before it gets anywhere.
I tried calling Adobe Support since this technically falls under installation issues but their phone support systems are down today.  Go figure.
Edit:  I hooked into Photoshop with the Visual Studio debugger and every single thread is executing some variation of WaitForSingleObject() or WaitForMultipleObjects().  The main thread is "executing" somewhere in AdobeLM_libFNP.dll (at address 09619d81 - if I had debugging symbols for CS3, I could provide a function).  There are nine threads "running" at the point the freeze occurs - but all of them are technically suspended due to the functions they are executing - and one thread is in a suspended state.

My Visual Studio analysis was far more informative.  All threads are hung inside of WaitForSingleObject() and WaitForMultipleObjects() calls and the DLL in question appears to be FlexNet-related.  I did forget to mention that I also even manually started the FlexNet service in case, for some strange reason, Photoshop was waiting for it to start.  That also did not work.
(And there is nothing in the Action Center control panel either despite the message saying there might be more information there.)
Edit:  The timestamp above might be a little odd-looking.  I didn't originally see anything in Event Viewer until I clicked the first button to send an Error Report.  Mostly I just skipped that part of killing a process.

  • Adobe CS3 installation problem in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

I cannot install Adobe CS3 Production Premium in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (fresh clean install). I have tried everything, including turning off the anti-virus software. It just pops up asking if I want to allow the installer to make changes to Windows, etc and when I click yes it just closes and does nothing... Has anyone been able to get CS3 installed in Windows 7?
The only reason I have a fresh install is because my Ultra CS3 that I had loaded in addition to CS4 package timed out after 30 days and I really need to get access to Ultra CS3 to finish this project. I was planning installing just one app (maybe Photoshop CS3) from the CS3 install so that I can enter my CS3 Production Premium reg info in the system so tat Ultra CS3 will work. I can just start over and do another 30 days with the Ultra in DEMO mode (it does not tell you it's running in demo mode by the way!) and finish this project, but I was looking for a more permanent solution. Once I put CS4 back on, the CS3 package installed over it...
Does anyone knw what to do in this situation? i.e. Could I install it into a Windows XP Pro 32-bit edition and perform and UPGRADE to Windows 7?
Has anyone else ran into this inability to install CS3 in Windows 7? I am running the CS3 install from the Adobe folder on the desktop that it maes when you run the files downloaded from Adobe.com - I get nothing. The task manager shows something open for a split second and then closes right away?! This is very frustrating.  I have even run the CS3 clean script just in case. Any help would be appreciated!

i had issues installing cs4 products, my reponse to others with cs4 issues may help you:
i see 216 others have posted questions on this issue on this forum from searching "setup.exe", including myself, so i'm just responding to the recent ones.
i recently downloaded trails of flash cs4 and web premium package cs4 (took a day to download at high speed starbuck's internet). couldnt get the setup.exe to work or the uninstaller to work. surfing tech support over next couple weeks to try various agents was useless and expensive until i finally reached someone with useful info. all the agents had foriegn accents and read from scripts and web support pages until yesterday, when i reached a guy who told me two things i'll report to various forums addressing this same issue:
    1. download the "windows install clean up" program from window's website (google: windows install cleanup) to uninstall everything adobe. then go through your folders to erase any adobe remnants. this program is different from the uninstaller that doesnt work in the programs and features area of the control panel when you try to uninstall adobe products from there.
    2. windows explorer 8, the newest version, DOES NOT download adobe software properly and leaves things out, causing all sorts of issues including the setup.exe program not working. download firefox browser from mozella (google: firefox) and use it for all adobe downloads. apparently the old windows explorer 7 will work, but if you already have explorer 8 installed its easiest to just use firefox.
i'm spending the next couple days downloading the 4.14 G web premium trail with firefox and will report if this works.

  • ITunes 64-bit and Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

I have a relatively new installation of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and have not moved the "Music Folder" to a new location. I have moved the "My Documents" folder to a new location tho. Inside of the "My Documents" folder, I see folders named "My Albums" and "Music Lyrics", but no "Music" or "My Music".
After installing the 64-bit version of iTunes, I get the following error.
The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created and is required.
The default location for this folder is inside the "Music" folder.
I have researched and seen many references to this error and Windows XP, but nothing for Windows 7.
    Ideas?

Something may be awry with the special registry permissions on the My Music folder, Just. I think the iTunes installer looks for those in order to determine just where the default location of My Music is on a given computer.
But since this is a first-time install, the situation should be pretty simple to recover from.
Hold down the shift key when you go to launch iTunes. In the dialog box that comes up, select "Create library" and put the library where you please.
Probably a good idea after doing that to try launching iTunes again, just to make sure that it is still finding the iTunes folder. But by default, next time you open iTunes (after creating a new library), it should try to open the library in the location you created the library in.

  • I am unable to update, uninstall, or reinstall iTunes on my laptop.  Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bits.  Error code is 2330.  Can somebody please help me?

I am unable to update, uninstall, or reinstall iTunes on my laptop.  Everything was working fine until recently when there was an update available for iTunes, and when I tried to update this, I got the message, "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package.  This may indicate a problem with this package. Error code is 2330."  Can somebody please help me?
    System configuration:
    Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bits.
    Version:  6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
    System Directory:  C:\Windows\system32
    RAM:  1.00 GB.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • CS4 Suite fails to install on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

I just built my Intel i7-980x Workstation with 12gigs of ram a PNY Quadro FX3800 GPU and a 160 SSD.  I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS.  I then began installing my CS4 Production Premium Sutie onto my new Workstation, but the install, after the 4th disk, displayed and error message that said "Done, but with errors."  I can't load the screen shot since Adobe won't allow attachments.  I called TS, but they couldn't help.  I then look on this forum and found people having the same "Language packages" not installing on their XP/Vista machines.  So after turning off the firewall with no anti-virus it still would not install correctly.  Funny thing was I could launch Pr, Ae and Soundbooth, but not Ps, Ai or Fl.  I went to the Windows 7 website to see about the "Public" folder and this location http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Sharing-files-with-the-Public-folder shows you how to turn it back on as Win7 disables it; at least the Ultimate version does.  I attempted the install for the 4th time (I removed it every time prior to the next try) it finally worked.  Tech support needs to be on top of these things, but thank God for this forum and people sharing their experiences.  Hope this helps someone else

Ankit: you should really use code blocks when giving typing or copy/paste instructions.  This forum software keeps inserting random blanks and/or linefeeds into normal text, so when the user copied your instructions, the blanks were copied as well; thus the command failed.
    Example:
    Download Microsoft's SubinACL tool from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e8ba3e56-d8fe -4a91-93cf-ed6985e3927b&displaylang=en
Install the same by double clicking on the "subinacl.msi" just downloaded.
Open Command Prompt window through the Run Dialog Box (Start -> type  "cmd". In the section above you should be able to see a command.exe.  Right click on the same and select Run As Administrator)
In the Command Prompt window, type in the following commands:
    cd /d "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Resource Kits\Tools"
    subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\OptionalComponents /grant=administrators=f /grant=SYSTEM=f /grant=USERS=f /grant="Creator Owner"=f
The 'i' and 'ii' in the list above will probably be replaced by the forum software by something else (possibly 'a' and 'b') when I click the Post button.

  • Boot Camp not able to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit!!???

Guys I'm using Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 & I'm having a problem installing Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit through boot camp. When I insert the windows installation disc it creates the partition but as soon as it restarts to proceed the installation, it hangs up there saying 'No Bootable Device. Please Insert Installation Disc and press any key to continue'. But when i was previously using Mac OS X Snow Leopard, I installed Windows 7 using the same disc and it proceeded without any issues. Can any body give me a solution to it please because I want Windows 7 in boot camp and I do not want to use it in any virtual machine like parallels desktop!!! I AM USING iMAC 2010 so its quite new!!!!!!

I am having the same problem. I have a very recent 27" iMac 3.4g i7 and I am trying to install Windows 7 64bit upgrade. Also running OSX 10.7.2. It also stalls out after expending files reporting that there are missing files with a error code 0x80070057. I was trying to install a fresh complete version but had bought the upgrade.. I had vista on another machine but had taken it off and was going to use the key for the upgrade. No windows had as of yet been installed. I later tried to install Vista as a way to upgrade to Win7,which went ok, but when I tried to upgrade to Win 7 64bit, I couldn't. I have tried this multiple times without success and have removed the boot camp partition after each failed attempt... Any Suggestions?? Thanks in advance
