  • Windows DPC Watchdog Violation

My windows partition automatically installed updates overnight.  When I re-booted I received a DPC Watchdog Violation.  The power button re-booted the machine and it appears to be running ok.  Do I have a problem that needs to be addressed?  Appreciate any info and suggestions.

    perhaps this could help;

  • DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION error.. Help please!

I have a fairly new computer, like 1 month old and it's been having no trouble at all!
But recently, there's this error that's been bugging me... "DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION"
Anyways, I've tried looking for solutions and none of them worked at all!
Those people with similar problems posted their minidumps folder so here is mine https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=8890455B2D279646%21360
This error randomly happens (mainly when I watch a video or play games) and it's really annoying!
    Thanks in advanced.

  • DPC Watchdog Violation in windows 8

    Hello everyone,
my uncle just purchased my toshiba laptop model P55-A5200 last week. i had this problem now, when my pc is configuring windows updates at 15 % ,it  freezes and is having  DPC Watchdog Violation bluescreen errors and then when it was  about to restart, still appears the same, it can't proceed to windows 8. Instead, in the blue screen a "Recovery" appears and made me choose either restart my pc or see advanced repair options. i tried to choose "restart my pc" but still the same. when i choose "see advanced repair option" i don't know where to choose to. I also had this problem, I was not able to create recovery media in my usb.  PLEASE HELP ME. I don't know what to do ... see these images here that i attached. please please please help me...

Attach a few more. Maybe we'll get better clues. You might zip up a bunch of them.

  • GT60 2OC-030UK DPC Watchdog Violation

Hi all. I bought a GT60 2OC laptop about two weeks ago for my studies and gaming at University and it has been nothing but a nightmare. At first it would bluescreen randomly but I managed to track the error down to the Killer drivers that were preinstalled. Slightly annoying that a laptop could be sold not in working condition but I updated them and all seemed to be well.
Then the dreaded bluescreen struck again, while listening to music. It said DPC Watchdog Violation which from a bit of googling appears to be related to SSDs not being compatible with Windows 8. I'm sure this is not the case as surely nobody would sell a laptop with parts that aren't compatible, but I would like to know if there is a fix for this issue as it's happened within two weeks of me buying the laptop and I really want everything to be working before university.
I'm also very disappointed with the laptop in general, my old PC had 3 BSOD's in it's 4 years of use, this laptop has had 4 BSOD's in two weeks. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I spent quite a lot of money on this and it's very upsetting that it doesn't work.

    Also....
    [can't post external links]
Knowing that, were you trying to do anything at the time when the BSoD happened? Like plug headphones in or something to that effect?
It might even be better to get the information from the system log to see what the exact error code was regarding the DPC Watchdog Violation. There might also be a driver associated with it that is causing the problem.
I was listening to music like I usually do and it was halfway through a track. The music just stopped and when I turned to look at the screen it looked exactly like the image in the link you posted. I hadn't tried to do anything when the BSOD happened, it just sort of happened randomly. It's not done it again yet but the next time it does I will snap a picture on my phone if it will help.

  • MSI GT70-2OD - DPC Watchdog Violation

Anybody having this issue with random blue screen of deaths, DPC Watchdog Violation?
Today, I got two BSOD watching twitch streams. I thought it was a graphic driver issue, so I went back to a non-beta driver, but still getting the BSOD's.
    Any suggestions?

I am scared of flashing the BIOS because I am on my second notebook, where I flashed the BIOS and I had the black screen of death. It didn't boot at all. No MSI splash screen.
I don't remember on the first notebook if I chose the wrong file, but I followed the information to the letter.
If it is the only way to fix it, then I guess I have no choice. I hope it does not mess it up.

  • DPC Watchdog Violations

This error in my laptop occurred twice
and during both the errors I was pc was connected to internet and the internet connection was shared with my mobile phone.
I want to know why this error occurred and is there any way out to this error
    PLEASE HELP ME.

It may help to look at the minidump files from the blue screen crashes with a debugger.
Can you zip up the minidump files in the C:\Windows\Minidump folder and make available (provide link) via a public folder on OneDrive or similar site?
Here's a couple of links on using OneDrive (SkyDrive):
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/skydrive/add-photos-files-faq
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/onedrive/share-file-folder
If you have problems zipping the minidump files copy the minidump files to another location such as a folder on the Desktop
Also, you do not necessarily have to zip up the minidump files, you can upload them one at a time

  • DPC Watchdog Violation - Fingerprint related?

I get intermittent failures to load Windows 10 64.  I generally use hibernate and bring the PC up with a FP scan at the BIOS power on prompt.  I get to the Windows lock screen but the cursor is frozen.  It thinks about it for 5 or 10 seconds then blue screens me with the message that it's telling MS about the problem and it flags the subject error  as the cause.  PC then restarts and is generally OK on the second try.  I don't know how to troubleshoot this.  T440p

Thanks for the suggestions - I've looked at the websites and they refer to Windows 8. Before I try anything, can you confirm that these solutions will also work with Windows 10?And as this started when I was using Windows 8 and then continued when I upgraded to Windows 10 I'm not sure that refreshing my version of Windows will help. Thanks Jemima

  • DPC Watchdog Violation

I have been getting the BSOD in May. I bought this laptop in January and it didn't have this problem until May. Am trying to figure out a way to fix this problem. Currently I am running a full scan with Windows Defender to check if theres a virus. Can anybody suggest ways to fix this problem and what causes this problem?

  • DPC Watchdog Error

I got a DPC watchdog BSOD on my fairly new laptop. I have Win 8 on the host machine, and VMWare running on an external SSD with Win 7. I run nothing on the Win 8 machine other than VMWare.
I saved the dump file which I've uploaded. unfortunately the anti-spam is not allowing me to post the link so I'll have to resort to showing it in pieces.

You could upload it to Skydrive (or another file sharing service) and give us a link to it
We do need the actual DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers
were loaded, and what was responsible.
You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.
If you are overclocking stop.  (chances are if you dont know if you are, you are not)a
To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.
    The procedure:
    * Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
    * Zip up the copy.
    * Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button. (if available on  your site, MS doesnt have this)
*Please upload them to a file sharing service like Skydrive or"Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.
Link for how to  upload below.

    To ensure minidumps are enabled:
    * Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
    * Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
    * Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
    * Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
    * Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
    * OK your way out.
    * Reboot if changes have been made.
Please also run MSinfo32 and upload the output as well.
To run MSinfo32 please go to start>run>MSinfo32

  • Sharing Violation error when inserting a table

    Hi Everyone.
I know this question has been asked before but no one seems to have a working solution.
We have Macromedia MX (6.1) installed on a room with windows 7 on all the computers, on a server 2008 network, connectiing to a server 2003 user area server. It seems to work fine until you try to insert a table which is different to the default options. It then throws up a sharing violation error to do with the table.htm file under the Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX\Configuration\Objects\Common\ folder. The program then closes. The things I have tried to get this working so far are -
    uninstall and reinstall
deletion of the Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX\Configuration\ folder
changing location of Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX\Configuration\ folder from network drive to local drive
making sure the user has complete ownership of the folder and the file in question. They do
checking the same problem exists with an adminstrator account and a normal user account. It does.
having the user log on to a windows XP machine connecting to the same server with the same log on account. This works fine! So almost certainly a problem with Windows 7.
runnning the dreamweaver program as administrator
changing where the site is saved to.
Im really all out of ideas. Yes i know that its an old version and the newer versions work a lot better, but this is all we have at the moment.
    I really appreciate any help!

    Hi Chrissy,
According to the description, you were not able to save the workbook after you typo some VBA code. Which version of Office are you using? Are you save it manully?
Based on my understanding, this issue is not realtive to the code and it maybe a know issue about Office 2007. You can fix it via link below:
Description of the 2007 Office system hotfix package (Msoshext-x-none.msp): April 27, 2010
If you still have the issue save it manually, I would suggest that you reopen a new question in
Microsoft Community- Excel forum to get more effective response.

  • CS3 Input contract violation error \src\MLFMediaSource.ccp-74 help

I first successfully created a DVD image file from this project, then I changed only the target to Flash and set the build going again. When attempting to transcode the error above came up and the flash.swf build died.
Any thoughts on what may have happened here?

First, I have to say that I'm kind of dissapoint about the support Adobe has with this kind of errors. I know how hard is to develop software, and to make it perfect, but I think is the less Adobe can do for such expensive software. When this kind of errors appears, you don't know what to do; the software simply doesn't work.
I had the same trouble with Encore. A "Input contract violation error \BEUtilities.ccp-254 help?" dialog showed up an the software simply didn't burn the DVD. I tried everything in this forum and it still didn't work. Not even in a HP with Intel Core Dup 3.146 Ghz, 2 Gb RAM, Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 2.
After hours of work, I managed to get a solution. Encore shows this error when you import a video which is not an .M2V video file. If you can manage to convert your .AVI, .Mp4 or whatever video file you have to .M2V, then Encore will be pleased to burn it. You better do it before making the timelines, since doing everything again will be very cumbersome.
If you can't convert your video files with a program, Adobe Premier Pro will be pleased to send any video file to Encore as a .M2V (video) and .AWM (audio) by clicking on File >> Export >> Send to Encore. After selecting the folder where the new transcoded file will be, Premier Pro will do what Encore couldn't. Encore will open (if it wasn't open) and the option to open those files will show up. I suggest to first convert all your video files and then doing the timelines in Encore in order to spend less time. Then, burn the DVD will be piece of cake.
I believe that everyone has mistakes. Surely my post won't resolve all the troubles about this matter and I'm no one to claim about this software. Yet, I lost too many hours I don't want that to be repeat by a trouble I don't even know how to fix or where to start. Adobe has been always an enterprise which software worths every penny you spent on it. Please check on this kind of mistakes.

  • Protocol Violation Error (ORA-17401)

    Hi everyone,
I was problem while run cfm page, for 4 weeks ago, the ColdFusion stop in error Protocol Violation Error - ORA-17401.
I'm using JDBC Oracle connector version 1.6 with Oracle 11 g.
Where the error show, the server stop communication from Oracle and returns only restart the CF Service, other servers dont stop communication.
I have 4 servers with 4 processors Quad-Core, 32 GB RAM and 1 TB HD, with Windows 2008 and IIS 7.5.
The ColdFusion is update level 11.
    Any answers?

It is seen when Oracle.getSystemProperties fail to bring in Data from Oracle Server. At that time every property is returned as null, so protocol violation occurs. It occurs and Oracle Can't close Connection as said by the first thread.
Solution is to avoid too many requests at same time but use some long queue mechanism and timings.

  • Windows 7 Instalation Problem - Error Code 0xC0000005

I have been trying to install Windows 7 on my, rather old, laptop and it barely gets to the installation screen after inserting the CD into the CD drive when the message appears:
Windows installation encountered an unexpected error. Verify that the installation sources are accessible and restart installation. Error code: 0xC0000005
I don't know why this message keeps appearing...
I ran the windows 7 upgrade advisor and it then said that my current graphics adapter will not support Windows Aero user interface and also to upgrade the drivers for my wireless and my ethernet - is it because of this that I cannot install windows 7? And if so, I was also not able to figure out how to find the updates for these...
    - Intel(R) PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter
    - 3Com 3C920 Integrated Fast Ethernet Controllet
    - Windows Aero support.
Any help or insight would be extremely welcome.
    Thanks.

    hi,
0xc0000005 is a critical Access Violation error that requires immediate reaction. As a rule, you get the 0xc0000005 error message when you try to start one of your programs in Windows or install software. The program terminates with the 0xc0000005 message and
you can’t get it work. The most typical causes for the ‘0xc0000005: Access Violation’ error are: corrupt registry, malware, faulty RAM, faulty drivers, incorrectly written, installed or updated software and even Windows security features.

  • "Access Violation" error messages in Diadem 9.1

We have recently purchased Diadem V.9.1 and are encountering numerous "Access violation" errors as well as Runtime errors. The most frustrating aspect of trying to run this software are the constant crashes we are experiencing.
It is taking us 3X as long to process one subject as it should.  I posted a request to NI technical help but I think it is the Thanksgiving holiday in the US.

Actually, DIAdem 9.1 is a very stable version. If you are continuously
experiencing crashes this might be due to some problems with your
    computer hardware or configuration.
Is your PC matching the recommended system requirements as found in the
helpfile? What OS are you using, did you install the most recent
    servicepacks?
Do you have similar problems with other software on this computer as
well?  Unexpected system crashes often occure because of corrupt
RAM chips. DIAdem is using a lot of memory - so maybe you are accessing
regions that other programs dont use and  - for that reason - see
    the crashes only in DIAdem.
You are writing that the processing takes 3 times longer than expected.
How do you compare? Have you been using elder versions of DIAdem which
were faster, or are you comparing with the processing speed of another
    computer?
There are some things I would do to try to improve the performance.
Check that you have at least 256MB RAM
Check that you are using Windows 2000 with servicepack 4 or XP with servicepack 1 at least
Reinstall DIAdem, use the version 9.1 SP2 instead of the installer you have been using. You can download this installer here.
Add servicepack 2b afterwards. The latter is a selfextracting zipfile
which has to be unpacked in the DIAdem directory while the first is a
    complete DIAdem installer.
Replace the RAM modules of your PC.
You are welcome to post again if you dont get any further. In this case
please give some more information about the system such as CPU, OS,..
and the crashes. When do they occure? Is it a specific function or
module you are using when DIAdem crashes. What does the error messages
tell you about the module in which the exeptions occure?
